At the moment it has only 2 exchanges, 3 pools, 2 faucets and you can gamble with it. Thats it.
It will also be on neotrix's exchange which is launching soon. And btc-e.com are asking in their thread in marketplace whether people would like them to consider it. Volume dictates whether an exchange carries a coin and PPCoin has some nice volume the last month. Don't forget, all coins have to start somewhere. PPCoin is slowly gaining traction and it has definitely hit a new level of awareness amongst the masses. |

But what is it used for? What is going to keep its price steady after the speculation rush ends? (Im not being a downer, im legitimately curious about investing in an altcoin, but im trying to decide between PPC, NMC and LTC)
You think Bitcoin started off with anything but speculation and belief in the innovative concept? I would rank PPCoin the dark horse. LTC the favourite. And I wouldn't go near NMC but please understand that is just my opinion... I think NMC is too 'technical' for your average joe in the street to ever get. |

One million PPCoin were traded on vircurex today and they're at 18 cents right now, they could make some nice profit out of trading it on there.
Not only that, with MTGOX taking on Litecoin btc-e.com needs to have new offerings to distinguish itself as a competitor...

PPCoin giving amazing returns and showing no signs of stopping. One million plus PPCoin traded on Vircurex in the last 24 hours and the price has risen nine-fold from 2 cents to 18 cents in that time  (correct at the time of this post). I always knew all this coin needed was for the masses to become aware of it and realise themselves it's an innovative coin rather than a cheap bitcoin clone. Very exciting times ahead with a bright future.. especially with Sunny the lead developer steering the way. |

Honestly, though I think Novacoin is a great idea. PoW + PoS sounds awesome. I love the concept. Plus Scrypt which is even more awesome. Two bad the guy premined and its just a big scam. What they need is a PoW + PoS + Scrypt clean version, I would support it.
It's basically PPCoin with Scrypt, minus the talented PPCoin developer Sunny (as far as I understand). |

Seems like an interesting coin. I noticed all the altcoins are steadily increasing in popularity; since BTC is getting more expensive to get, I'd expect the altcoins to really make leaps and bounds from this point out.
Yup. Especially the coins like PPCoin which actually offer a distinct advantage such as energy saving. Sunny the developer is also extremely active unlike the devs of most other alt currencies. He even fixed a vulnerability in TRC the other week. |

if you havent noticed that nvc is a complete and total scam by now, you should buy some.
I am aware of the scam, I've seen it in enough posts and signatures. But why does it rise up whenever litecoin does? Seems fishy to me, especially when the market depth is so shallow... |

Do people actually think namecoin is going to get put up on mtgox just because of this? I mean, it doesn't even have it's own silk road, it's too primitive to be put up on MTGOX. Would it even survive if that happened? Can a cryptocoin network be 'crashed'? Maybe litecoin will still be put up, but I doubt namecoin will... anytime soon at least. And also Mtgox are taking a long time to get together with coinbase, so they are slow, so it could be a while before litecoin is even adopted, giving plenty of time for the price to go down. I personally think namecoin is too 'technical' for the masses ever to adopt in large numbers. 'A decentralised dns system acting as money? Wut?' But I am wrong I am wrong and more power to namecoin and if succeeds it's a good thing for alt currencies. |

Don't worry, the gains I made in LTC and PPC in the past few days have offset my speculation in BTE  Good for you mate.  Thanks hope you are doing well too! If anyone ever sets up a BTE exchange, I could potentially make thousands In a world where BTC forks and its clone can save it from disaster... I am doing very well. |

BiteTheDustCoin I would get behind this 150% if it offered anything new but it doesn't. This coin represents everything the alt currency haters hate about alt currencies. I feel bad defending alt currencies and seeing this topic on the first page of the forum.. but I know it doesn't represent the real innovative coins like ppcoin, litecoin, namecoin etc. |

Adding LTC, NMC, NVC, IXC, etc., will just make BTC look cheap and reinforce the notion that we should all just wait and see which one will be the best.
That's how you view because you're still stuck thinking there should be a single dominant cryptocurrency (BTC). The cryptocurrencies offer different advantages... PPCoin being energy efficient, Litecoin using Scrypt, Bitcoin having the most traction and most secure network... it might not ever be the case of one being 'the best'. Also, investors care about different things. With a range of cryptocurrencies they can invest in a portfolio and spread their risk, or put it all into a risky cheap crypto. And so on. |
