Has anyone actually received mined coins yet? Confused...
2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 07, 2013, 06:37:12 PM
Mining this on a few machines and received nothing since I started so far...

Looks to be mining but just not getting any coins Sad

Is this intentional? This way everyone can download the client and get it running so that the first few people who download it don't have a massive advantage?

Sounds good to me. I just hope it starts before I have to go to bed lol.

Read the forum to learn about the premine. They call it preallocation.
2046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie the only unique and interesting alt-coin out of all these sh*tcoins on: July 07, 2013, 10:21:25 AM

No they dont state its clearly going to be open source. Read the discussions on the forum. Its likely to be closed source at least initially. The premine is definite and the creator wont budge on that.
2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie the only unique and interesting alt-coin out of all these sh*tcoins on: July 07, 2013, 09:04:13 AM
You're wrong actually, it is being premined by the EMU Foundation. It may also be closed source.

Yes Windows and Linux builds will be available at release time, with Qt support, just like ppcoin v0.3.

Sweet. Bring on tomorrow night!

Looking forward to this one.
2051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Would cloning a virtual machine image of a solo-mining wallet cause issues on: July 06, 2013, 03:37:42 PM
I have a theoretical question. Imagine it's 2009 and I am solo-mining Bitcoins on a virtual machine on my computer. If I clone that virtual machine so it's identical and run it on a virtual machine on a whole different computer with the same mining power, would that cause problems? And would it lead to twice the mining power as expected?

I call it the Car Salesman Box.

The single most important thing behind any cryptocurrency is... whether Fontas decides to pump you or not.
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] A new subreddit dedicated to Litecoin discussion at /r/truelitecoin on: July 04, 2013, 06:50:26 PM
There is a new subreddit dedicated to Litecoin discussion at http://www.reddit.com/r/truelitecoin and on twitter @truelitecoin

Any addition or benefit beyond the already well used http://reddit.com/r/litecoin ?

The goal is to allow for more open discussion about Litecoin related topics. Topics and comments were getting censored and removed from /r/litecoin if your opinions differed from the moderators.

Not surprised tbh. Litecoin_messiah has struck me as quite immature at times.
2055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] WDC WorldCoin: Announcing upcoming patch and news on: July 03, 2013, 11:41:25 AM
16M of the new total of 66.8M coin mine in first 3 month 20.5M in first 6Month. so only 4.1M/y each next 9.5 years.  sounds like insta-mine for 3 months then starve the market to make price higher to make money.

early adopter is not supposed to be get rich quick 30% of total in 6 month is just an extended insta mine for insider and friend. That look like we mine it it's ok, in fact to cover we get lots of coin to get rich.
you get the right problem, too much coin early, for the time to establish value. you respond with let it go some time and then nearly close the valve.

BTW your total of 265M a bottom of second column should be 66.8M + some post year 10 probably 72M or something like that or I miss 200M somewhere  Huh

I like ALT crypto, but the scheme of get my friend rich scheme is just killing it. I'm still searching for an honest one other then litecoin (have other problem, but not this one)and it seems not much is available

p.S. insta-mine of this sort is sometimes also call starter superblock

3 month insta-mine  Roll Eyes Do you know what 'insta' stands for?

Can't believe how quick these prices have gone up after I bought in a few days ago.

OP can you explain what happened please and why?

I'm interested because I am a PPCoin supporter.
2058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WDC, PXC, FTC, DGC or LTC - opinion poll for the best on: July 01, 2013, 09:55:46 PM
Digitalcoin because it had a fair launch, has interesting development projects underway like the bank of digitcalcoin and it's 20 second transaction times make it more feasible to be used for quick purchases.

Litecoin because it has the most traction out of all the alt coins and a bigger market share than the next 20 coins put together.
2059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on Mtgox on: July 01, 2013, 08:18:48 PM
What the hell is this:
twitter.com/MtGox/status/351003666498592768

Mtgox is not the most reliable site once again.

That twitter has said litecoin isn't happening twice already in the last month. They actually said they won't be supporting other cryptocurrencies. A few days later they said the opposite on Facebook.

35,000 BTC worth of LTC were traded on btc-e in the last 24 hours. That's close to mtgox's total trading volume for the day and on a smaller platform. There is no way they won't take on Litecoin. That said I still think there is a 50% chance LTC support will slip back to August.
2060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Prerelease Announcement - Introducing Prime Proof-of-Work on: July 01, 2013, 05:31:43 PM
So your new method for Primecoin is just leaving the checkpointing system in place but disabled, and then letting the users turn it on if you think there's the possibility of a 51% attack?

In primecoin a similar checkpoint system is present, but it's user enabled, and by default not enforced. So without threats of 51% attack the system is actually dormant.
