2061  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why are people cheering that ASICMINER will bring 800-1000TH online this year? on: July 01, 2013, 12:04:59 PM
The cat is out of the bag, there's no coming back... Bitcoin mining is already taken over by few guys, few more will take a piece in next few months and others will fight for mall stuff that is left.

What's most interesting to me is who in his right mind is paying 4 BTC for AM share. What the fuck are they doing to people for them to become so irrational in buying anything Am related at such lunatic prices..

I'm curious to know: what would you consider a fair price and why?

A price he can buy in cheaply at.
2062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC][ARG] Development Updates on: June 30, 2013, 03:31:02 PM
Suggestion - drop Argentum and just support DGC.  You are wasting your time with ARG.  Dead coin.

I agree.

Community mining support is spread too thin amongst too many coins. DGC has stood out as the coin people are backing with their mining power. Focus on DGC.
2063  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: in germany bitcoin gains are not to be taxed after 12 months !! on: June 30, 2013, 12:20:26 PM
Is there a similar situation in the UK? Please let it be so.
2064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PXC, FTC and WDC Merge - Which Will You Mine/Buy ? POLL on: June 29, 2013, 06:44:39 PM
Looks like this Feathercoin idea is paying off for them based on the results  Cheesy

Why choose which one to mine? Merged mining. Make it happen and crush the competition.

Don't think that is possible when Worldcoin has 15 second block times and Feathercoin has 2 minute block times.
2065  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 29, 2013, 02:58:35 PM
What is an easy way to buy these shares with my Bitcoins. I have no experience doing this, but everytime I read about ASICMINER I hear good things.
2066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched on: June 29, 2013, 02:38:09 PM
i think of it is a currency...not a kiddy club.

You make no sense.

To add further clarity, I support all projects and all developments to the coin itself. I do not support contentious decisions made behind closed doors such as partnering with the competition, confusing our future market and weakening our brand.

I've yet to see one concrete example of how this is going to benefit worldcoin. Seems like this is a done deal now, all I can do is wait and see what happens. I can always convert my stash of WDC into more DGC.

We would like to announce to the community that WorldCoin, FeatherCoin and PhenixCoin are now partnering together.

More details to come.

FeatherCoin Announcement - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245977.0
PhenixCoin Announcement - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245994.0

Who is 'we'? Who decides these things? What if some of us, like me, think this is a really bad idea?

If I continue to hold my coins can I expect more things like this done with no transparency or public debate???
the team who made this whole wdc community possible. the team who made the worldcoinforum.org, the biggest worldcoin pool, online wallet and made a lot of more efforts to support the coin and make it a great cryptocurrency with top-class community support & services.

So basically, a minority of people have arrogantly taken control of the coin and haven't given the majority of people like me a chance to debate Worldcoin joining this 'partnership'. I actually think this is a really bad idea. Three competing crypto currencies with different specifications supporting each other is going to confuse consumers. It also looks very 'centralised' too me, a minority of people making huge decisions like this without discussing it publicly.

People who hold the coins currently will probably think "eh let's just see what happens, it might work". But future buyers of the coin will see the manner in which this partnership was formed (secretly behind closed doors and forced upon us) and think if they invest into worldcoin that is what they can look forward to in the future.

2068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] FeatherCoin WorldCoin PhenixCoin - Now Partnering on: June 29, 2013, 01:44:42 PM
I love FTC and PXC, but I just dont see how this would be very productive.........

You cant implement all into all 3 coins to be exactly alike, its better to put all the effort into 1 single coin..
I dont know how you guys will do it or what you have planned, but best of luck anyways...

Having 3 competing coins with different specifications supporting each other in a partnership is going to be as confusing as fuck to people. Consumers like simplicity.

I also feel people like you and I are being kept in the dark here. I hold worldcoins and there was no chance for public debate whether we should enter this 'partnership' or what it entails (even now after the announcement it's still very unclear with no concrete examples).
2069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Prerelease Announcement - Introducing Prime Proof-of-Work on: June 29, 2013, 01:25:18 PM
Maybe I have missed something new among the sea of clones, but who is the first non-hashcash proof-of-work that you are referring to?

Some API would be preserved some would be impacted, especially those mining related. Although I haven't looked into it yet the release is client wallet solo mining only.

If I understand correctly, this will be the second non-hashcash crypto-currency to achieve beta.

Looking forward to it.

Will you provide backwards compatibility at the daemon for existing crypto currency infrastructures?

(Similar RPC-JSON interface especially?)

Will users be able to compile from source on release or are you just releasing the client wallet on launch day?

I guess I am a little worried a troll will try and clone it if you release all the source on day 1. After a day or so it doesn't matter so much then.

I am curious how you managed to get this to work... Smiley

2072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC][ARG] Development Updates on: June 28, 2013, 10:16:13 PM
Excellent updates.

To be honest I am a bit taken aback at how ferociously you are developing projects and services for digitalcoin. DGC has surely won the crown for most active developer imo and I look forward to this reputation spreading through the community.

Organic growth will come!
2073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First Video Explaining PPCoin !! Go Check it out :) on: June 28, 2013, 10:10:25 PM
Hey guys, it's Jason, I just made a video explaining PPCoin, I would love if you could go check it out and give me some feedback Smiley Thanks Smiley
http://youtu.be/ynwz8H66chY

Why not mention few millions coins were mined on first few days and since then amount of coins generated per day dropped extremely? Why
promote heavily instamined coin that is as slow as Bitcoin? The fact that dev is active means not much because there is nothing interesting
happening with PPCoin. There are no services needed or offered for PPC. It is more or less dormant, waiting for times when those few early
adopters are supposed to become super rich, "ultimate guardians of the network" or whatever.

You've been a very vocal YAC coin supporter in the past, which is almost a direct copy of the PPCoin source code. And therefore also has the same coin supply trends in the first few days. Care to explain?

10 times faster, uses top-of-the-line algo (SHA3), development of not just client but miners is as democratic as it can be. I'm not saying that
will be enough to make YACoin successful, though. I'm never invested in anything so much that I'd work on preventing progress for the sake
of not losing some or all my investments. I say let's push things forward no matter what. Being trapped in Bitcoin is fine because it is big and
as such won't see much radical development but being trapped in some altcoin just because it was first to implement X and / or Y is just stupid.

I'm not saying the way PPC or YAC were launched is right. It was not and I cheer it if somehow I could rollback the time and launch YAC properly,
to remove permanent reminder of unfair launch from blockchain.

lmao.

I have to hand it to you. I've seen some dumb posts on this board in my time, but seeing a YAC supporter attack PPCoin in that previous post of yours has to rank right up there.

I usually refrain from these kinds of posts but for a troll like you it's a pleasure seeing you holding dat bag Smiley

2075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DGC, FTC or WDC - which has a future on: June 28, 2013, 09:38:41 PM
Out of those three I would go for DGC or WDC. Takes an enormous amount of buy support to move Feathercoin up even a small amount. DGC has a super active dev. WDC is dirt cheap.

Tbh Litecoin is the safest bet. No need to get too fancy and out-think ourselves here looking for clever trades, Litecoin promises to give some handsome rewards come mtgox listing day. Look how the price rose just on the basis of mtgox saying on facebook they are aiming for LTC support next month.

Then it is settled. Where do we contact btc-e?

This is their official market topic others have been posting in: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.920

I wrote to them in that topic to trial PPCoin and after a couple of posts from me I got an 'ok' out of them. A week or two later it actually listed. It probably helped that PPCoin shot up in value quite a bit after I asked lol.

Please let your voice be heard in the official btc-e marketplace topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.920

2 minutes of your time could make a big difference to the value of your investment.

I will, however according to my source it's not needed as according to 'him' DTC will replace CNC on BTC-E.com.

Interesting to hear. I hope your source is accurate Smiley

Thanks for posting support in the btc-e topic!
Maybe we should all ask btc-e to accept DGC?

Definitely. I can't encourage this enough. Now is the perfect time to do it with them removing CNC and evaluating the crypto landscape.

2079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Feathercoin to partner with other leading alt currencies on: June 28, 2013, 05:32:46 PM
I raise legitimate concerns about the lack of transparency and democracy in this partnership process and all I'm getting is zerodrama telling me I have it ass-backwards and that I need to learn how to motherfucking program. I question your intelligence when you say voting does not provide influence and accomplishes nothing.

I find it worrying that the 'key people' can 'finalize' these partnerships with no debate or communication with the respective communities of the coins.

You're going to find people respond with the attitude "I'm off to find a coin where I don't need to be a programmer to have a say".
