301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And yet another mistreatment on: January 27, 2021, 09:55:10 AM
I haven't heard this project before but it's actually crazy. They owe $450,000 to the bounty hunters (at the currency price). If they don't pay this, it's going to tank their reputation, especially when they are doing good. That's really shady. If they don't explain themselves, then this project is a scam.
302  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am being mercilessly scammed by somone from the bitcoin world on: January 27, 2021, 06:43:27 AM
So I am getting many emails from some scammer telling me that I have a bitcoin balance.

How do I get rid of these morons?
Any help appreciated!

It seems that for some reason, your email address was leaked and scammers had a hold of it. Just ignore the. If they keep emailing you even now, just change your main email address. That will save you the trouble from future potential phishing mails.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we expect a dip, slump or pop soon? on: January 26, 2021, 01:03:13 PM
If you keep reading that experienced traders are unsure about what's going to happen, then you should get a hint that there's really no one who is going to know what's going to happen. You can only speculate or guess, just like everyone here. We can only hope that crypto keeps rising but it's really hard to see that since we've recently only got our biggest ATH yet.
304  Economy / Economics / Re: Marathon Invests $150 Million In Bitcoin on: January 26, 2021, 12:04:25 PM
This is quite big, not just the value but the psychological impact on the smaller investors who wish to invest in Bitcoin but still have doubts.

This is a good thing, but more people need to use BTC as a currency or payment method instead of just viewing it as an asset all the time.

This is a tough ask, but not impossible. Using BTC as a payment method more often would definitely attract more investors and improve its overall value over time.

That's still wishful thinking because the fee of Bitcoin is still quite absurd to be used as a payment method. Many people will dislike the fees. It will definitely attract more people but it's still far too early for that right now. The only way I can see Bitcoin as a payment method is using a third-party wallet app.
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Driving to the moon? HODLer installs portable mining rig in BMW on: January 26, 2021, 10:51:15 AM
I really doubt that's going to mine any Bitcoin. Ethereum would be viable with that set up. Though nonetheless, just another rich guy enjoying the wealth and flaunting it to us lol.

So I think it was all included and covered by the insurance company? That was a clever idea but the fact that it was in the car the maintainance, accidents and other factors might put the system at risks can be very serious. Or maybe it is just a marketing strategy.

I don't think so. The article said that he built it himself so I think anything that happens to that mining rig won't affect car insurance.
306  Economy / Economics / Re: What We Should Learn From Elon Musk Influence on: January 25, 2021, 03:47:30 PM
It's pretty obvious that a famous personality like Elon Musk can have the power to pump or dump a certain coin (remember Mcafee?) but in my opinion, it's really for the newbies since most pumps (especially when it is artificial) will be followed by an inevitable dump. At least Bitcoin already is famous which is why tweets from Elon Must won't really have any significant changes because the marketcap is too high to pump from just a tweet.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase won’t tell me where my XRP funds are...any Coinbase employees here? on: January 25, 2021, 02:46:12 PM
Just keep on contacting them with a more precise and specific question. Give them like proof of your assets from the trading/deposit history and see if they will reply to that.

LOL. Coinbase is in it fro profit. Why would any one of them lurk here? They give  a shit about crypto. Why you dont buy on Kraken? Kraken have a lot employees lurking on crypto subbredits and answer questions very fast.

But if the thing here is that kraken already halted XRP trading in the US so if he is based on that country, he can't trade XRP.

308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: January 25, 2021, 02:31:29 PM
I don't know if I'm the only one thinking this but I think the media partly controls the price of Bitcoin (just a miniscule percentage). Ever notice that when something big happen, medias will try to milk that event that will result into people (most likely investors that aren't really into the technology) will take action depending on the news.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which one will you choose? on: January 24, 2021, 04:52:17 PM
Why not both? those 2 follows Bitcoin price anyway. Once Bitcoin pumps, most top altcoins will pump too, though the price increase depends on the better coin (which is ETH in my opinion). Nonetheless, if you're only looking with an investors perspective, just spread your investment into different coin since they are both good in their own way.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government not take good step? on: January 24, 2021, 07:41:26 AM
Less ways for the criminals in getting some options I guess. Countries that banned cryptocurrencies are probably playing safe and afraid of the risk of using cryptocurrency. It's not like there's a lot of them though and as time goes, there's going to be one or more countries that will legalize Bitcoin when they see other powerhouses utilizing Bitcoin.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Random thoughts on future Bitcoin supply on: January 24, 2021, 03:31:23 AM
A good thread about what will happen if we die https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284824.msg55467254#msg55467254

As we all know, bitcoin is already precious as it is. Bitcoin will only become rarer as more Bitcoin get lost so it's pretty inevitable. I think there won't be any significant changes though because it's not like Bitcoin will suddenly lost a huge chunk of its supply suddenly, it's going to be gradual and the economy will have an adjustment according to it.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else still regret not buying Bitcoin in 2011? on: January 23, 2021, 10:50:27 AM
This seems to be the thread these days...regrets, lost passwords and keys. Funny how people who thought bitcoin was trash have realized how wrong they were. I personally regret selling at $20k

I really don't regret it since I'm probably too young to buy Bitcoin at that year. What I regret the most is having known Bitcoin but doesn't have the capability to buy it, though this is the only regret I have to be honest since I'm fairly satisfied that I've known the existence of cryptocurrency before it become so big.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Gold after Zombie Apocalypse on: January 23, 2021, 10:34:47 AM
It's hard to say. I'm pretty sure that Bitcoin would be pretty much become useless to barter since you can't really do anything to it to survive. Maybe people will find Gold useful as a form of currency to at least create a some sort of order or you can maybe use it to create tools, weapons, as a conductor, etc. Though gold may be useful, people won't prioritize it when a zombie apocalypse really come since it's pretty rare and mostly stored or hidden somewhere.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin? on: January 23, 2021, 10:22:04 AM
For me it's the whitepaper. In essence, you can see their intentions from reading their whitepaper. You can also spot unsuspecting things from the team by reading the whitepaper. For me though, I decide in the whitepaper to see whether the project is being handled by 15 year old monkeys or a dedicated developers. Well, we have our own preference, this is just mine.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Japan Support XRP on: January 22, 2021, 02:13:59 PM
"XRP has a strong global fanbase, and a lot of people see this lawsuit as an attack on virtual currencies in general".

Sure, XRP has a lot of global fanbase but we all know that you really can't compare XRP to any cryptocurrency out there. It's a centralized virtual currency so it doesn't really affect the cryptocurrency ecosystem in general. I think he is just trying to exaggerate this because he's desperate for a comeback, he's an investors so it's expected but the damage has already been done.
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: FUDS are big Confirmations that were in a Bull Market!!!!!! on: January 22, 2021, 02:04:46 PM
Those fake news that are circulating right now is probably scaring the newbies into thinking that Bitcoin is very vulnerable. Though it's not the case anymore and that news will become irrelevant over time. But isn't it good? at the end of the day, another one of those dip had happened again and we get another opportunity to reinvest.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: You can lose transfering and withdrawing on: January 21, 2021, 11:08:09 AM
You can lose profit sending trading and withdrawing if you are trading a small amount I have $50 worth of Ferum or FRM it will take $6 to send the whole amount to Bilaxy and after you trade it to Eth and wants to withdraw it you will have to spend $12 to withdraw your Eth,
now that's $18 gas fees for your $50, my only option is to trade it to other altcoins like DGB or Litecoin which offer $4 to $5 fee you still going to lose $11, that's over 20%.

That's pretty common to happen. This is why most casual traders just leave their assets in an exchange, treating it as a wallet, to avoid losing in profit. Their taking the risk of losing their funds from hacks to avoid that fees. This spells disaster especially when the exchange you are trading with isn't very known. You can do that but it's really not recommended.

318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 20, 2021, 06:23:26 AM
Stop exaggerating things. Governments can't do anything about crypto. Sure they can regulate as much as they want BUT people can still find a way to go around it. Also, it's not like USA is the only country that is on crypto. The whole world has their eyes on it. It's a matter of how they are going to use crypto. If US prevents their citizens from using crypto, then other countries will likely get ahead of the game and they will lose on something big.
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I predict stricter regulations for bitcoin and the cryptospace for 2021-2024 on: January 19, 2021, 11:26:51 AM
Though, more regulations mean less users. Hope that it will not happen like i think

It's actually the opposite. People would flock Bitcoin because of this regulations. The fact that they are going to make a stricter regulations means they are actually acknowledging Bitcoin and that's a terrific news to all. Government acknowledging Bitcoin is a go signal to consider for people who thinks Bitcoin as something bad.

320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin price had not crashed in 2018 on: January 19, 2021, 10:16:28 AM
The beneficiaries of this current boom are mostly the rich!

I disagree. Anyone who believes in Bitcoin reaching the top again is the real beneficiaries. Basically, it's the brave and the smart people, or a fool if you want to call them that. I'm not rich but I took the risk and I benefit from it greatly. Actually, anyone who's in this forum are the beneficiaries.

If bitcoin does not fall in 2018, maybe in 2021 bitcoin will fall, the opposite is true in 2018, bitcoin price will fall and in 2020 to 2021 bitcoin price is getting better, just a sign that it's not too serious.

No, there's a reason why 2018 crashed was inevitable. It's not as simple as, opposite of this and that. 2018 was full of scammers and doubts that made Bitcoin crashed.
