1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10,000 American Cryptocurrency Owners Will Receive Warning Letters From the IRS on: August 11, 2019, 02:16:05 AM
If they're going to ask those 10,000 Americans to pay for the tax, I think it's a one step forward for legalising cryptocurrency. Is it right or not? Because they're trying to regulate bitcoin by paying taxes.

But I'm curious on what's inside those letters. And why only 10,000. I bet more than that are using crypto.
Did you read what happened?
It looks like it's only 10K because Coinbase only gave them about 13k names. And that was kicking and screaming, with coinbases lawyers fighting it every step of the way.
So out of 13k people some probably paid all the taxes and some were below some threshold for some reason.

The rest got letters.

-Dave

So the reason why those Americans are getting notified is because of tax evasion. I get why Bitcoin is getting taxed though. It's because Bitcoin is not treated as a currency in america as it is not issued by their bank so therefore it is treated as an asset as it holds value to the user.

It's their own fault for using a centralized exchange and not paying the tax issued. But to be honest, It's easy to get out of there. Pay the taxes and move all of you asset to a decentralized exchange. That way you'll be able to say that you are out of business and IRS won't be able to monitor you.
1282  Local / Pamilihan / Re: bitcoin buy prices | Coins.ph vs Abra on: August 11, 2019, 02:05:48 AM
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Not a must to promote every bounty projects on: August 11, 2019, 01:48:57 AM
That's why we have a set of our own rules to follow when trying to find a good bounty. Also, even if you think that a bounty is legit, it'll be too late to realize that it's a scam. Also, who said it's a must to promote the project? That's absurd.

The only time when you get a red tag is when you don't follow the bounty's thread. Someone will inform you if a project is a scam and will give you 24 hours or more to remove any relationship with it. It's your own fault when you still get a tag.
1284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you received Bitcoin from this wallet on: August 11, 2019, 01:32:14 AM
Ok you are an old member of this forum and you have staked your address, so you can recover it in case your account was hacked.

and you also did a KYC from airdrops, bounty campaigns, and various exchanges.

And on all these activities, you'll only use one address

Then one day you woke up and found out you received 10000 Bitcoin

from a wallet coming from one hacker's wallet who just hacked one big exchange..

And so many people know who you are where you are located and your status in life
because you are using only one address...

So what do you think will happen to you now..

This might very fictional but the possibility is there.

What I'm trying to emphasize is to avoid KYC and using only one address.

You'll be trusted by the moderators when you return the money. It's not like you will be able to do anything in it. You'll be targeted by everyone, and I mean everyone, be it police or some kidnappers. It'll be dangerous if you don't return the money as soon as possible and make it public because people will think that you still have the money and who knows what might people do to you.

It's okay to use KYC and one address, what's dangerous is when you do illegal stuff.
1285  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Baguhan - gusto matuto mag trade on: August 10, 2019, 04:23:38 AM

1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth below 0.018btc on: August 10, 2019, 04:19:04 AM
It's hard too look at ETH this time around. Bitcoin is soaring high right now and converting to it while it still hasn't reach its all-time high is a good move. I think that's the reason why ETH and most altcoins right now are bleeding. It's difficult to tell whether when will altcoin follow Bitcoin's trend but only time will tell. Investing in it while it is still in dip is also a good idea in my opinion.
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of physical attacks against Bitcoin owners on: August 10, 2019, 04:11:55 AM
These types of attacks are inevitable especially now that the price of bitcoin is high, bitcoin holders shouldn’t be bragging their coins in social media because it can reach to other people who will target you. Your life is way valuable than bitcoin and you can’t have any other life so just keep is low and just enjoy the benefits of bitcoin with no worries.

That's true. Those who boast their wealth would really be an easy target. It's scary to think how easy it is to still Bitcoin and sell it without getting trace at all. That's why trading Bitcoin in person to person is a dangerous act even if you are to meet them in your local place.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin may be doomed on: August 09, 2019, 04:30:47 AM
Don't worry that much. As of now, Bitcoin is too strong to be doomed at this point. As time goes by, more and more people are going to know Bitcoin and be educated. Also more and more companies are going to adopt Bitcoin which results into people able to access it easily. With that said, the use of Bitcoin would really benefit a certain place. I simple google search and you'll know how Bitcoin is growing bit by bit.

1289  Local / Pilipinas / Re: More Bitcoin = AMLA Red Flag? on: August 09, 2019, 04:26:21 AM
I’m also thinking how to liquidate my bitcoin if the price hits $20K per bitcoin again. Its hard to trust the bank if you don’t have enough source of income.

My suggestion is that, quit your job and do your own business. Sa halagang P200k magkakaron kana ng business, and paunti-unti withdraw ka ng pera at ilagay mo sa bank at least dito you have a legal business which can give you profit. Do it within a year, wag isang bagsakan. Mas ok kung lagpas isang taon mo sya kukunin, for now put your bitcoin on a safe wallet.

1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Save Investors? on: August 08, 2019, 01:05:24 AM
I've heard that Bitcoin could save some investors. China and Russia are planning to ditch dollars and that the incoming recession is happening soon in the future. If it were to really happen, Bitcoin could have some impact to those investors as Bitcoin doesn't have any connection to US. Bitcoin is an independent cryptocurrency.
1292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE THEY OUT OF METHODS? on: August 07, 2019, 12:30:00 PM
Not all people are so clever and every newbie that enters the industry can be caught in such an offer. Imagine if you heard about cryptos and during your first day of reading, somebody offers 15x profit within one day. Just be careful guys.

You don't need to be clever to know that it's a scam though. If it's too good to be true, then it's not.

Scammers are back with the old style of bitcoin mining scam giving you outrageous return in a short while. They claim to be using the fastest mining tool which they claim is Ant miner S9.
They promise to give you as much as $980 for an investment of $70 just in 12 hours. That is practically impossible to be real.
Let us all beware as the scammers are trying both new and old methods to ensure they dupe you of your hard earned fund.

Just don't give any attention to them. They will be gone sooner or later anyway. To be honest, it's the people's fault for even trying to invest in this scam anyway. It's too good to be true so it means it's not good at all. If you see one, try to report it to make some awareness of that website.
1293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Becoming More Available? on: August 07, 2019, 12:24:18 PM
It is becoming more popular - yes. Becomes more accessible - no.

What are you saying? There's like lots of companies now that accepts Bitcoin as payment and even exchange fiat to Bitcoin. In the Philippines, there are shops that let's you exchange Bitcoin to Fiat or Fiat to Bitcoin. There's also a company that handles BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH wallets and let's you pay bills using them, you could also buy in that same wallet from them. It's so easy to get Bitcoin nowadays.
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] GOLD Stablecoin – $200,000 - payouts in BTC, ETH, GOLD on: August 07, 2019, 12:49:41 AM
you didnt DM me !really funny!thank you .best of luck..you have no idea about ambassador :p

Sorry but I think you are too arrogant to be our ambassador. Looking at your history. You have nothing to prove except that you think you are good enough to have the position. You don't even qualify to participate in the signature campaign. I think you should improve yourself first.
1295  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ( WAGI )Blockchain-based anti-counterfiet drugs gawa ng Pinoy on: August 06, 2019, 12:46:55 AM
Nakaka-amazed talaga ang talento ng pinoy. Akalain mo iyon?
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: can exchange services sell my personal data? on: August 06, 2019, 12:39:24 AM
Hello! What is an average fee you pay to crypto exchanger? I use changelly and pay just 0.25% and I think this is pretty weird. How do they make money? Sometimes I think that they sell users data and I'm thinking to pick another exchanger.

It's not like you are the only user in the world right? Try to imagine 100 people trading at the same time with 0.25% fee. You'll see the bigger picture that they are making a lot of money just like that. What about withdrawal fee? And also listing fees? They can make a lot of money. If they could sell data, they could but I doubt they'll make money compared to their profit from their exchange.
1297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Machine Learning is Needed to Detect Money Laundering on: August 06, 2019, 12:19:01 AM
I don't tolerate money laundering schemes inside crypto networks such as Bitcoin and I welcome this initiative to use deep learning to detect such illicit activities yet I would like to point out that fraudstera will always find a way to circumvent it thus I hope it  could be really effective and foolproof once implemented. Imho.
We'll see how well this machine learning is but it's going to have a real hard time telling from change addresses, tumbling that's not for illicit means, exchanges and what not from real laundering. I mean how the hell could one ever tell if they take Bitcoin transfer it to monero (they don't know the monero address) and private send it to an exchange, get dash or some other coin trade it for monero again private send to an exchange and buy new bitcoins.

True, it would take them a lot of trials and errors just to teach the AI to distinguish between the addresses, it would take years. Not to mention tracking them and be able to see if it's money laundering or not. I'm curious if they will be able to pull this off properly.
1298  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [GUIDE] Sekretong Malupit sa Pag Convert to PHP sa Coins.ph! on: August 05, 2019, 02:25:29 AM
Buti nakita ko to.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Halving in 8.5 Hours on: August 05, 2019, 02:18:59 AM
Some analyst say that halving won't really affect the price much but the effect of halving will reduce the miners and adjust the difficulty resulting into small-time miners to mine again. The only reason why price increase is because people believe that it will increase in the time of halving so people buy which in turn increases the price. But still, it depends on the supply and demand of Litecoin.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do i realize my dream on: August 05, 2019, 01:23:05 AM
Have you considered everything except that it's a cool business and might profit from it? I mean you can create an exchange so easily but why was a lot of exchange failed even if they have the fund to begin with? It's just that they are lacking something that should have been there from the start which is the support of a community and the promotion that they needed to succeed. You should look into that.
