301  Economy / Economics / Re: Concerns About Going in Business with a Friend on: May 13, 2023, 06:05:36 AM
Many years ago, I heard the story of a man whose business partner did dirty. They were business partners for almost 5 years and the suddenly the business partner left with company's money. Even after several years, this man didn't recovered. He ended up sounding it as a warning to his kids never to go into business with anyone. The trust was destroyed and never recovered. This is just one of those sad stories.

On the other hand, there are many success stories of friends who went into business together and succeeded to together. If you have ever gone into business with a friend, what were your biggest concerns and how did work through it.
How can someone just disappear with the "company's money"? How was he able to withdraw all in cash? He does know his friend. He does have his ID and stuffs. Finding where he is hiding would have been a piece of cake for the law enforcements (unless he escaped the country, and the police would know that too after little investigation...). So did he report to the cops or not?

As long as you trust him, you should be fine. Register your business, put conditions on how someone can handle the company's money. Never let one person have full access to the funds.
302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stay updated on: May 13, 2023, 05:35:58 AM
I start developing an interest in Boxing and UFC matches when I visited a relative, he is so into these types of sports and he seems to know a lot about it, by I have to keep myself from asking him what and what I should do to know more about such sports, I have this in mind to be able to make some bets or gamble on such sports, my problem is I don't know how, if anyone is into such sports where should I begin? Any special UFC or Boxing platform where I can read news and updates about such sports?

-snip-
Just google it and tons of websites will pop up which I am pretty much sure. Even though I don't follow sports news, I know there is ESPN news, Skysports, Yahoo spots and tons of other similar websites. All mainstream media has a sport section, so I doubt it is going to be difficult for you to find those "news".

If you are going to place bets on sport matches, then don't just read the news. Try to learn about the teams too.

How do you bet on such games? What are the things to be on the lookout for? Because I believe this is different from football ⚽, I also don't have access to satellite dish like my relative does, this is how he is able to get the best out of these sports.

Are you saying "football" is the only news people read and other sports don't have any news coverage? lol.
303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 13, 2023, 03:21:22 AM
This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.

Anything else anyone can think of? Like... read this post before gambling? Tongue
1. I have see people set "budget". Almost everyone does that but once they start losing, they forget about the "budget" and end up trying to recover everything they lost which in the end, never ends well.

2. Like I said, once they start losing, they forget about everything. They don't remember about taking breaks. All they know is that they need to win back their money. These are easy to say than do.

3. Yeah, you end up gambling more when you are not in your sense. One shouldn't get drunk and gamble. That would be the worst decision.

4. Seeking help is a good way and talking to friends or someone very close about your gambling habits might make them aware that you need help. Friends that care will help you get out of any issues.

There is one more thing I would like to suggest. Always gamble for fun. Think of it like you are paying for the entertainment and the profits are optional rewards.
304  Economy / Gambling / Re: blizz.io blatant scammers stay away on: May 12, 2023, 07:23:23 AM
This isn't the proper board to make scam accusation. Create a proper thread on the scam accusation section like other users said.

Anyway, why would you be playing in a random casino that isn't as popular as the rest of the casinos here (or its me, who never heard of them)? Anyway, it looks like you broke of their terms, so they confiscated your funds. But why did they make you go through KYC is that is the case? You should try appealing the ban if you really didn't cheat. Did they take all your funds or returned your deposits?
305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make Bitcoin anonymous ? on: May 12, 2023, 06:51:15 AM
Hey Guys,

Is it possible to anonymize my Bitcoins that I have transferred from Binance without using Whirpool or CoinJoin?
Would the coins still be assigned to me if I route them to 3 different and newly created wallets?

Best regards
Nope. That's not possible. You send your coin from binance to your wallet, now the exchange knows who the owner of the wallet is. Since binance requires KYC and additional verification, they  know everything about you. Your name, address and other related things that is enough to identify you. From that wallet, where ever you send your coins, you can still be backtracked to your Binance identification. Bitcoin keeps you pseudonymous, not anonymous. Using the centralized exchange, you ended up losing your pseudonymity. And like other user said, using mixture also won't help you much.
306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not a get rich quick on: May 12, 2023, 05:53:37 AM
Of course it isn't a get rich scheme. Anyone that thinks that they can get rich trading, are in for a huge disappointment. You need to know the market well before you start trading. You need to be patient when trading. You should know about all the risks involved. There are chances you will end up losing everything. But sadly there are people that think trading is a job that everyone can do and get rich overnight. Wouldn't blame them. We should be blaming the media more because on how they focus on stories where people get rich real quick by trading some shitcoins. People don't realize that they got lucky and most of them ended up losing everything.
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Back and Lay in sportbook on: May 06, 2023, 04:38:13 PM
I'm not an expert when it comes to different terms in sportsbook and gambling. I usually place bets on X to win, X to score etc in cricket and soccer both. I have never seen the terms "back" and "lay" in any Casino. Maybe I didn't notice them. I joined a casino today and found both terms and I'm confused what should I do. It says back (1.03) and Lay (1.04). What does these terms mean? Any easy explanation?
A quick google would have answered your question. When you place a "back" bet, you are betting that the team is going to win. The kind of betting you do in most of the sportsbook where you bet in a team that you think will win and if they win, you receive your payout. "Lay" is exactly the opposite When you place a "lay" bet, you bet that this team isn't going to win. You become the bookmaker here. If the team does win, you will payout x1.04 to the players (that backed for that team).

-snip-
I advise you to stop playing in such casinos as the terms are quite confusing even for me which I am playing from a long time, you should play in the casinos that have a great ANN thread here in this very section as by playing in those casinos you even risk even worse things, like not getting your money.Anyway if you tell us the name of the casino we can give better insights.
Why stop playing in a casino that offers something different? Those are not confusing terms. Those are terms that you didn't know. A quick investigation would clear things up.
308  Economy / Economics / Re: Effects of Crypto and Bitcoin on the Economy on: May 06, 2023, 04:29:52 PM
Yeah those are basic points that everyone thinks when it come too crypto currency and economy, but I think it's important to keep in your mind that crypto, while it is very useful, won't have a huge impact on the overall global economy. It does provides an alternative payment method and enables faster transactions without any third parties being involved and slowing you down, but it's not really creating a lot of job opportunities or single-handedly saving the world economy. True making investment is a good thing for economy, but investing in crypto currencies is totally a different thing and not everyone is able to take that risks. The influence of crypto on the economy isn't as massive as some might think. It's not a magic solution for economic growth.
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network fee, worrying sign? on: May 06, 2023, 04:21:02 PM
Sorry for another topic about the recent issue going related to bitcoin network congestion but I really want to know that Bitcoin ordinals so called NFTs is really going to change the fee required for the transaction in the future?

Because I didn't witness such kind of clog since 2017 but by that time there is no segwit, exchanges are clogging the network purposely and so on but later for so many years the fee issue isn't really there but all of a sudden we have to pay over 100 sats for over transaction to get into the block may create a bad image and it will create the FUD and may initiate the price drop.
Nothing new. The fees have spiked before when the network was congested. If you aren't in any hurry, pay low fees (you might have to wait few hours to a day or two though...) and wait for the confirmation. If you really want to avoid paying huge fees, buy some altcoins and use them while the fees of bitcoin is high. There are altcoins that you can use to transact instantly. Once the fees goes down, you can start using bitcoin again.

By the way, what does NFT has to do with bitcoin fees?
310  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 06, 2023, 04:15:11 PM
It's not a decision that you can take within few seconds. Sure, you can move to a different "cheaper" country, but like you said, it won't be easy. The people in those "cheaper to live" country are most likely struggling themselves. It might be cheaper for you, but not for them. The wage you will be earning in those country won't be enough for you to pay and cover everything. You will be struggling just like them. The best option is to find an online or a  remote job that pays well and then you can move around any country without worrying about money.
311  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 06, 2023, 07:48:08 AM
Advertising and brand recognition is one of the best way in boosting your profits. When you invest in advertising your business out there, people become more familiar with your products or services. Even better if you have something unique that you can use to promote your business. Like a slogan, or a product or anything that when people see will immediately recognize which business it is. The more the people recognize your business, the more you will be earning. But don't expect to earn a lot after few days of advertisement. In a long term thing and it will give you some good ROI after few months.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoins played in cryptocurrency industry on: May 06, 2023, 07:39:44 AM
Altcoins do play some important role in the crypto industry to be honest Bitcoin isn't perfect. There are some flaws yet that needs to be fixed. Altcoin are trying to improve those bitcoins limitations and flaws. They've brought in more diversity in the crypto industry, having different use cases and trying to make the financial system decentralized. Look at Ethereum and you will know what I am saying. But then, there are those "shitcoins" and scam projects that have hurt the industry's image. They make investors reluctant to buy crypto currencies once they become a victim of those shitcoins.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: May 06, 2023, 07:30:52 AM
Yeah, guys that are saying that they will travel back to time and buy bitcoin for cheap doesn't realize that if they starts buying all the bitcoin, most likely the price of bitcoin won't be what it is right now. Maybe no one would want to use bitcoin becase most of the supplies will be controlled by some specific group of people (the time travelers) and they would be manipulating the market. Maybe after few years there won't be any bitcoin, and bitcoin would be considered as a "failed" currency and people would instead be using some other currency. Those that travelled time to buy bitcoin would lose all their investment.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is Bitcoin to the youth? on: May 06, 2023, 06:12:30 AM

Youth are interested in Bitcoin because it's easy to work with if you understand the ntrigrity also it's a way to make money, over time BTC has risen, and with this, the youth may be interested in a way to do business digitally.
We need to talk more about the benefit of Biticion in other to attract more youth because the majority do not know how this coin works.

It's the same for everyone. Youth or old age, doesn't matter. It works the same for everyone. It teaches you not only about investing and making money, but also about learning financial freedom, technology, and handling your own money. It teaches you to be responsible and not depend on others to manage your money. It's also a perfect way to start learning about other crypto currencies.
And yeah, we need to spread more "proper" education about bitcoin. The more people know about the "real side" of crypto currencies, the more people will be interested, the more near we will be to making it a regular currency that people can use for day to day use.
315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: tips for profitable investment in bitcoin on: May 06, 2023, 05:37:20 AM
To get profits from bitcoin there are things that should be done when investing in Bitcoin. The first decision to take if you want good profits.

1. Investment should be long-term.  Bitcoin is always profitable when investment is long-term, buying in lower amount,  hodl till when the market rises. This may take time and this can only be achieved by exercising patience.

2. Not making attempts to time the market.  Timing the market is the biggest mistake any investor should think about,  this can result too much desperation to make profit that will make investment end bad. It will make sense to invest and not think to about when to make profit from the market.

3. Do not give attention or listen to anti-bitcoin. This can mostly have influence in the investment of young investors,  listening to people who are against bitcoin can make you feel you are doing the wrong thing.

4. Do not get worried about volatility (decrease). It is only for a moment,  it comes and go. It is just a distraction or threat to make people to take wrong decisions.

5. Top your portfolio when money comes in your hand. This should be with the amount you can afford to lose and not necessarily all you just earned.

This is what I belive for profitable investment,  you can also add to what have here if I'm missing anyone.
1. Not all coins are good for holding long term. There are coins that is better to sell and take profit, before it starts losing value. Coins such as meme coins and other hyped coins, all fall in this category.

2. Would agree on this. Better to invest what you can afford to invest.

3. If you know and understand crypto and bitcoin well, you will know that the opinions of the "antibitcoiners" mean nothing.

4. Yeah, you should worry about volatility. Don't invest in extremely volatile currency. There are coins that gets dumped and never recovers. Don't hope that the price will go back up. Better to sell those coins.

5. I guess everyone agrees to this.
316  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can we trust 3rd party Slot providers? on: May 05, 2023, 06:20:03 AM
We are seeing more and more 3rd party Slot providers being dropped by casinos over some sort of irregularities.. Stake.com removed all YGGDRASIL games and I also think iSoftbet games from their platform. So when Eddie (co-owner) was asked about this, he just commented that there were some irregularities.. so they removed it.

Try to Google anything about that and you will not find anything, because the industry keep their secrets. My question is.... can we trust these 3rd party Slot providers? Who are auditing their games and who are checking if the advertised RTP are being configured on their servers?

Let's discuss....  Huh
Not really. You can't verify the bets you place on those games. And then when you win big, they will start "investigating" how you won big. They won't do it when you lose though.. Most likely they removed those games because they didn't meet the standards and likely wouldn't reveal anything about how their slots work or so on. Why would a casino risk their reputation by using a 3rd party slot that has lots of irregularities?
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODLing Bitcoin isn't merely an "investment" on: May 05, 2023, 06:12:36 AM
I saw a post made by someone in which he told his story about his investment in Bitcoin and how it helped him go through the financially challenging times that the COVID-19 pandemic brought. A good, heart-warming  story by a fellow Bitcoiner, BUT we shouldn't forget that simply HODLing/owning Bitcoin could also be a kind of political movement, because its features could make Bitcoin weaken or break down political strongholds.

It might be premature to call it a revolutionary movement, but what were the motivations of the early cypherpunks when they were building their tools? Satoshi's message in the Genesis Block is also political.

 Cool
Are you saying holding bitcoin can weaken bitcoin or it can the features of bitcoin can weaken political strong holds? Anyway, I doubt anyone worries about "political strongholds" and "bitcoin". Most of them only invest in bitcoin to make profits. They invest, when the price goes up, the sell and take their profit and goes back to the regular financial system. So yeah, no matter how much you try to force yourself to think it is something different, but the truth in the end is the same. Its an investment for most. And then there are some people that screams crypto currencies will  bring financial freedom and stuffs like that, but they usually do it so that a "hype" is created and the price goes up. The same people will end up selling when they are at the profit.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing BTC to FIAT. FIAT is dying every single day. on: May 05, 2023, 04:58:39 AM
Saying that fiat is dying every single day is a bit extreme I would say. Don't jump to any conclusion. If it is dying, it won't happen anytime soon. And we don't actually want fiat to die overnight. Yeah, inflation can wipe off the value of fiat currency over time, but it's not like it's on its deathbed or anything. Measures are taken that would reduce the inflation (for short term, i know..). If fiat does die overnight, it would be a chaos. I doubt crypto would also be able to save us.  Fiat and bitcoin are not mutually exclusive. They will most likely coexist, each serving different purposes. Right now Bitcoin is an investment for everyone, while fiat is the most used currency for day to day transactions.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 05, 2023, 04:51:20 AM
Sad to hear what happened here. But yeah, there are people that would blame others if they lose their money when gambling. And then there are people that would claim that lost they money "by mistake' or someone stole their money (which actually happened in this story that you posted), but it was actually them. When they lost, they realized what has happened, and now they somehow wants to get their money back. Happens more at online casino where players claim that they account was hacked, the game was bugged or straight blaming the casino saying their games are rigged. Not something very unsual.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: May 04, 2023, 06:22:50 AM
It's too big. There are a lot of online gambling casinos that new casinos are going to struggle unless they provide something exceptional or something very new to the player base. If not, why would someone want to play in a new casino that has no reputation? Currently the whole industry is currently being dominated by few big casinos I guess.
Marketing - We can now see celebrities endorsing the gambling sites. Even our heroes in the sport can now be paid to put the name of the gambling site in their shirts or jerseys or if they want more money, they can use their tongue and say the name of the site. Sponsorship. Every time we watch a sports event, any sport, you name it, we see their names being flashed on the screen.
Those gambling industries can afford paying those celebrities and sports players hundreds of thousands of dollar, and the players are willing to accept it. Sponsorship isn't something new. The casinos do need to advertise themselves or they will end up losing the race. Yeah, it might have some negative affect on kids and will make them curious, but as far as I know some countries are banning such kind of advertisements.
