306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: POLL: How can you trade cryptocurrency without getting "hacked" by an exchange? on: December 15, 2017, 11:49:07 PM
What if you're aware that the amount that you would trade on an exchange would be enough to immediately trigger an exit scam aka "hack" of the exchange, no warning on "zero-day" except the maxim that once you send your cryptocoins to a private key not under your exclusive control, they're no longer yours?

P.S. No trading variable tokens that incur losses from slippage.
307  Economy / Trading Discussion / POLL: How can you trade cryptocurrency without getting "hacked" by an exchange? on: December 15, 2017, 11:32:16 PM
I just put up the same poll on Twitter for 7 days & overwhelmingly, the votes are for "You can't".

Really sad how many people only recommend exchanges in spite of this, anytime someone tries to trade OTC with an ironclad WoT to their name with so many linked identities & logs that it would effectively be impossible for them to sell their identity so that the new owner's charade wouldn't immediately fall apart under a non-trivial examination.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying up to 5000 Ripple on: December 15, 2017, 07:22:37 PM
The fee for using an exchange is 100%, when it gets "hacked".

Can the fields & icons for https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=forumProfile be easily swapped out to other services, and if so, what will SMF 1.1.19 allow?

Or what's most secure that we would want to advocate people use?

I might say Keybase, as long as people use their own PGP keys & not the ones Keybase generates.

Maximum discount $20??

That's what it says, and if my math is correct, that means with 10% off you have to spend $200 to hit the $20 maximum discount.

Don't recommend people get "hacked" by exchanges.

Buy it at an exchange.

*Get "hacked" at an exchange.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying up to 5000 Ripple on: December 14, 2017, 07:21:15 PM
Mind if I ask why all you assholes are recommending OP go get their cryptocurrency "hacked" by exchanges that have been "hacked" before and will be "hacked" again until they shut down completely like Bitfloor, etc? Personally the only significant loss I've suffered was from an exchange called Bitfloor.

How about you all stop threadcrapping, and learn how to go after scammers personally? Because criminal/negligent corporations & officers thereof get away with all the cryptocurrency they want & even if seized, the government sells it off rather than giving it back to all the innocent users.

Someone needs to add a zero... 5k isn't enough for me to sell at one time.

I'm out, as I don't take ETH, and there's too little to go on if the track isn't titled "Johnny Coltrane" as in jazz saxophonist John Coltrane.

...trainees (or whatever program participants are called) on-site to either repair or scrap for parts. Not searching for thrift stores that either throw the donated broken electronics in a dumpster, write as-is on them before immediately throwing them out on the sales floor, transfer them to another charity's thrift store, or pay a commercial electronics waste recycler to take them.

To start, I need to find one of these in San Diego, CA, USA, and I'm epicly failing.

List your own city's broken electronics bank charity below, with a link to their website that includes their charity registration ID.
