301  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: January 05, 2013, 03:12:25 AM
Nejc.
Did another BitInstant to BitStamp purchase.
Status shows completed, but no funds at BitStamp site still. What's going on?
302  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitInstant extremely poor design, lots of confusion, poor service on: January 05, 2013, 03:06:17 AM
Finally got the funds for the first order after 2 days.

Did another transfer. The order status shows completed within 1 minute. Checked my destination account, no money there.
Comon BitInstant, this is supposed to be INSTANT. This is my 2nd attempt, and I would rather not wait 2 days for it again.
I might be giving up on this service.
303  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitInstant extremely poor design, lots of confusion, poor service on: January 04, 2013, 03:39:04 AM
Hey,

Sorry for your issue, and I will do everything I can to get it resolved

Looks like you indeed did not enter your bitstamp account

I thought the username I put in to place the order is MtGox username, and NOT BitStamp. And, it specifically asked me to make sure that my MtGox username is correct. It never mention that I should put in username for BitStamp.

That would seem obvious in a Bitstamp transaction!

We're working on a new webs design, so please bear with us while we upgrade everything

PM me your order info and Ill get it resolved asap!

Charlie
Wrong, it would be obvious that it is asking the username for MtGox. It even ask me to make sure it is the correct username where the MtGot USD funds came from.
304  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitInstant extremely poor design, lots of confusion, poor service on: January 03, 2013, 09:24:06 PM
could you move it? not sure if i can do it.
305  Economy / Service Discussion / BitInstant extremely poor design, lots of confusion, poor service on: January 03, 2013, 09:05:00 PM
The website is very confusing. Here's what I did
1. Select Pay from "MtGox Coupon", then Pay to "BitStamp". It ask for amount and notification email. The username field is OPTIONAL.
2. Clicked on the send funds button, nothing happens.
3. Tries again, still nothing happens. I didn't mess with the are you human game, since the send funds button can be pressed wtihout playing the game.
4. Played with the "Prove you are a human", passed the game. Then press send funds, still nothing happens.
5. Decide maybe I need to put something in the OPTIONAL username field. So I put it in. It is very vague here, username of what? Of BitInstant? of Mtgox? of BitStamp? Since it is optional, so I put in my MtGox username without thinking too much of it.
6. Click send funds. Now it went to the next page, it ask me to confirm my MtGox username, which is prepopulated, so I thought it picked that up from the first page.
7. Order failed.

All this time, I thought I would be getting a redeem voucher code for BitInstant.

Put in the order, and the order failed.
Contact CS, they responded that they had to manually process the order, and that it is now processed. But I never got any voucher code for BitStamp.
Went to BitInstant, enter the order id, and it still shows that the order failed.
Contact CS again, this time, was told the funds was already sent to BitInstant account. Checked BitStamp, and nothing's there. And I asked CS how do they even know which account to deposit into BitStamp? They said that I entered it when I placed the order.
I thought the username I put in to place the order is MtGox username, and NOT BitStamp. And, it specifically asked me to make sure that my MtGox username is correct. It never mention that I should put in username for BitStamp.
Now they claim the money is sent to BitStamp account. The account I put in for MtGox is alpha letters, but BitStamp only assign NUMERIC account id. So how can they possibly deposit it? Now they say I have to contact BitStamp to fix it.
I thought I'd check the order status again... and it still shows Order Failed. Now I don't even know who to believe.

If I go to BitStamp, why should they blindly transfer funds to my account? BitInstant have to contact BitStamp, and tell them that the funds were sent to the wrong account.

All this can be avoided if the website design weren't so confusing. How can it be deposited into a non-existent account? Why does the CS kept saying it is processed when the order status still show it failed?

Who at BitInstant should I contact to resolve this?
BitInstant claims that the transfer should be well, almost instant. It is now over 24hrs, and still no funds.
306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitmit hacked? I never posted the message, but it says I did on: December 28, 2012, 04:46:16 AM

did bitmit got hacked?
https://www.bitmit.net/en/order/5194

I never posted that "thanks so much just redeemed them have a good day" message.

Thought bitmit was supposed to have escrow. It also says that funds are released even though I never released them.
308  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overc monit fanspd RPC stratum linux/windws/osx/mip/r-pi 2.10.1 on: December 19, 2012, 03:50:50 AM
cgminer 2.10.1, Win7 x64, 12.10 driver, 2.1SDK, AMD 5850.
It hashes at full speed, but shows 0 accepted, 0 rejected shares.

When I use the same settings on cgminer 2.8.7, I got the error -42 Building Program (clBuildProgram). Is this related? But on 2.10.1, i didn't see the error message.
That driver and that SDK are incompatible. It broke that SDK after the 12.3 driver.
That's what I was suspecting... Now it is running fine with the SDK that came with 12.10 driver

Is the PDF file available?
Giga, would you post important updates on the OP?
It would be useful so we don't need to dig through pages of posts.
313  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: December 10, 2012, 10:01:25 PM
any news on the HPC front?
314  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: December 04, 2012, 03:21:10 AM
Do you have the list of how many shares each person owns? If not, how will you process the payments?
315  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: November 30, 2012, 02:04:27 AM
Do we still get paid on Mondays for the protected pool? I've got some balance there.
316  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: November 30, 2012, 02:02:42 AM
I don't see how loyalty points will help that much. I've been mining steady here since their announcement and it seems I only have enough loyalty points to mine about $350 worth of BTC ? I've been at or around 7-8GH since the beginning.

So this will buy me about 2 maybe 3 weeks of mining ?

How does this entice anyone to keep their rigs going without any HPC work ?
That is why Coinlab need to come out with HPC before people ran out of loyalty points and started to sell their machines. But then again, there's a lot of gamers out there. Bitcoin is not everything that coinlab has, but I would assume a big chunk of computing power comes from bitcoin.
317  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: November 29, 2012, 04:19:30 AM
Thank you Coinlab for your efforts at clarifying this confusing time.

One more annoying question: Is there a deadline to using up my loyalty points? will they simply expire at some date if I haven't used them all yet?

-----------------
aside

This is kinda exciting/fun trying to figure out if I should wait until asics start up and drive the difficulty through the roof, or should I use up my points asap to get more bitcoins per dollar (if you were to speculate that the price of bitcoin is going up)

personally, I think the price will continue to slowly trend upwards with some rapid rises followed by corrections, perhaps $15 by summer 2013? maybe $20 by next winter?? right now I'm working under the assumption that unless the price were to hit triple digits in the near future, I will be better off waiting for the impending difficulty surge and cashing in my loyalty points at that time.

There is a two-year expiration date on loyalty points from the time we cross below the price floor.  Because the crossing of the threshold was caused by the block reward halving, Loyalty Points will expire two years from today - 11/28/2014.

Interesting aside.  Wink  If I had Loyalty Points, I would probably wait until ASICs hit if I was still mining profitably. However, if I was planning on ebaying my GPUs before they become depreciated from obsolescence, maybe squeezing them for all they got as fast as possible is the way to go.  Tough call. I'd love to hear more about other people's strategies.
The loyalty points expiring in 2 yrs would only be true IF coinlab is still in business by then.
I am using up my loyalty points asap, in fear of coinlab going belly up.
And if coinlab makes it, then there's no need to save the loyalty points, as they would have HPC work for us.
318  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: imsaguy's Enormously Interesting Extended Investment Opportunity on: November 27, 2012, 07:47:56 PM
Not to speak for imsaguy but I would assume he means there are 13 people still invested (owed BTC) and he will be paying some of them off this week.
Ok, that makes sense.
I was more hoping that the repayment would be proportional (for those that want it back), rather than imsaguy picking who to pay back.
319  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: imsaguy's Enormously Interesting Extended Investment Opportunity on: November 27, 2012, 02:56:24 AM
any news on the ASIC front? or the dividend?

ASICs still aren't shipping.  Coinlab still doesn't have HPC work.  So in the meantime, I'm continue to do what I've been doing.  There are only about ~13 interested parties at this time.  I hope to have that number even lower at the end of this week.
What do you mean 13 interested party? interested in what? And lower the number of interested party?
On Coinlab front, they are goin to start do "redeem" pool this week.
320  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: November 27, 2012, 02:53:36 AM
where is the link to sign up for "redeem" pool? Or do we just need to change the miner's username from "protected" to "redeem"?
