301  Local / India / Re: Let's vote for a new mod for India on: October 03, 2019, 01:32:41 PM
Yeah we only have ONE lonely little Merit Source. We surely need another with preferably a bigger bag than the bare minimum.

I couldn't care less about what that guy thinks or wants people to do.

As for Merit source, I wasn't aware there is one and if your "little" is any hint then I think he's not from India but I could be thinking of someone else than who is actually refered to here.

Regardless, I guess we can also assume we need something for people to talk about here, without that, there won't be anyone to send merits to and it'll soon become a circle jerking club..

If the merit source made their name public, we could conduct a merit campaign, something like which was/is done for other local communities here.

Despite earning so much merit, I barely have anything left to send as I have only 3 right now.. sometimes I feel like just ditching everyhing else and dedicate all my time to go ahead and do more for this community, like I used to do, perhaps apply as a MS as well, but the recent events involving members from my own country discourages me to do anything like that.

So all I can do is perhaps share an idea with people like yourself (amish), eality, hiesenberg, etc and hope you guys can find the energy and motivation in yourself to act upon those ideas.
302  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Musings on Proof of Disk Space on: October 02, 2019, 02:53:14 PM
The problem I find with these types of functions, is that they all use some sort of short cut to determine the proof of space.

In my mind, the only way to accurately check for space is to write as much random data to the drive as possible, store a secure hash of all the data, read it all back and confirm it still matches. File or space sizes can be spoofed. You've got to write, and then read the whole drive. Anything less, can, in theory be spoofed or faked.

I have seen this kind of concepts before. What happens is people never consider the data redundancy fact or the effective read write rate. Which is basically the more important factor when you consider that there will be a read write event on the entire capacity of the storage that is being tested.
303  Economy / Exchanges / Re: coinexchange.io is closing, remove you founds! on: October 02, 2019, 10:40:35 AM
Why are you intentionally calling it "founds" lol I mean is that a joke or something?

Its funny how just a few days ago there was this report that; 97% of S. Korean Crypto Exchanges ‘In Danger of Bankruptcy’

Now correct me if I am wrong, there is no information about the people behind Coinexchange.io, no one knows who the founder is, where the devs are from or anything like that. So could it be that since this shut down was for economical reasons - Coinexchange.io is (was) actually a South Korean exchange?

lol this is just a fun tidbit. I think, most small to mid-sized exchanges are in danger of bankruptcy no matter where they are.

For me, Coinexchange.io would forever be the place where I first bought / sold Equal token - which lead me to meet some amazing people from that Aussie team of devs and the people behind that token.
304  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to learn trading on: October 02, 2019, 10:29:20 AM
A trader learn more to this forum and I know it because Im a trader and my knowledge grow because reading information about the trading in different ways of startegy and anything. Many people are watching videos that can help for them to analyze and understand well the trading because in videos you can actual saw the real happen in trading but you just visit in any thread and you will find out what you are looking for.

Funny how you talk about learning and growing using this forum and youtube .. as a trader. I wonder why you couldn't use the same resources to learn how to construct a meaningful sentence in English without sounding like you are writing as if you are drunk.

Let me push you in the right direction.

Head over to : The Fit to Talk English project and visit JetCash's forum here : FittoTalk.com

Maybe you would learn a thing or two.

PS :

@OP sorry for the offtopic rant.
305  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitdeer - Experiences? on: October 02, 2019, 10:19:39 AM
I was doing a bit of research on Bitdeer and figured out that they open up new contracts at Q4 every year. A friend of mine is actually in charge of marketing Bitdeer in all English speaking territories and it is indeed a great way for people to get into mining.

One of the few cloud mining sites that are actually from one of the largest manufacturers of mining rigs. I'm from India. It's hard if not impossible to get a miner in here. Bitdeer is the next best thing for me IMO.

Keep an eye out like I said, they'd be restocking their contracts pretty soon.

Edit -
I am planning to purchase a few small contracts myself.
306  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to learn trading on: October 02, 2019, 10:04:05 AM
Yo.

It can look like a daunting subject but go ahead and give this course a spin : https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-cryptocurrency-trading-course

Every myth about crypto trading would be busted and you would be well on your way to make $$ by trading the way you want.

Once you are done with that, go sign up on www.suubee.com - You can even follow expert traders and all their open positions.

Hi Loyce.
Hi Tongue

Quote
Can I get a list of users that :

>Have posted at least 10 posts in the Indian board (including any of its child board) in the last 6 months
This is suchmoon's thread, not mine, but your request would require scraping many posts on those boards.

I am sorry you two look so alike.

I know its a long-running joke but I am not even kidding.

I messaged you about the issue.
308  Other / Meta / Re: Users that you should merit on: October 01, 2019, 06:02:58 PM
Hi Loyce. Suchmoon

Can I get a list of users that :

>Have posted at least 10 posts in the Indian board (including any of its child board) in the last 6 months

>Have never been merited by Suchmoon, Foxup, or Legendster (me)

>Have posted at least 29+ posts in the last 30 days

-

The intent is to find deserving people in the Indian section that have not been noticed yet.
Thanks in advance.
309  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: October 01, 2019, 05:48:31 PM
I can help Yahoo by reporting the shitposters - any mod can look into my reporting history and can verify how much reporting I do on a daily basis these days. All Yahoo has to do is ask and I'd gladly help him (and the forum) by weeding out the shitposts) if not the shitposters.
He has already asked for the communities help by reporting to him any users who are spamming the forum. Again, it will likely take a few weeks to get it all under control, and remove most of the trouble makers. Allowing Yahoo a grace period to sort out the campaign makes sense. However, Yahoo has tied his name to this campaign now, and if the spammers haven't been weeded out in a month or so then I imagine it will reflect badly on Yahoo. Having said that Yobit has made the first steps to cleaning up their name in hiring a reputable campaign manager, and user of the forum. I guess we will have to wait, and see how this unfolds.

That is if the campaign lasts a month or so. I'd much rather see them stretch this out over long period of time like a Chipmixer or 777 campaign instead of burning out their reward reserves like this. The fact that anyone can join without any quality filter is kind of annoying.

And I know, if they actually had that kind of filter Yahoo would not accept me into such a campaign (because reasons) but I would still like to see such a step to be implemented.
310  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: October 01, 2019, 02:12:02 PM
Well this is something yahoo should be dealing with as that's his job now. As long as he kicks the problem users off and gets on top of things then there should be no issues. If he doesn't then that's a different matter.

The problem is that a one person can hardly keep under control a few hundred people, and their numbers are growing steadily. The last statistics suchmoon posted two days ago shows 310 participants, and if we assume that each of them will make at least 10 posts daily, we get 3100 new posts to check every day, mission impossible. How will things look like when this number becomes twice or three times higher?

That's something yahoo will have to deal with and if he can't get control of the campaign then it won't look very good for him and there should be repercussions for that, but it shouldn't be too hard to keep checking the new participants and kicking them off if they're blatantly shitposting. He should probably get in contact with yobit to change the way people can sign up and make it so they have to be accepted first or even overhaul the way the campaign runs completely.

Yobit guys are not known for listening to advice, and they have a disdain for this forum (hence the promotion of their own forum).

I can help Yahoo by reporting the shitposters - any mod can look into my reporting history and can verify how much reporting I do on a daily basis these days. All Yahoo has to do is ask and I'd gladly help him (and the forum) by weeding out the shitposts) if not the shitposters.
311  Other / Meta / Re: Active users, top posters and most active topics in the past 1h, 24h and 7d on: October 01, 2019, 01:41:37 PM
I think Yobit should be in a much better place if they had a max 2 post per hour limit in addition to reducing the max post count down by a bit.
Although slightly off-topic here: I think that's terrible for real users, while account farmers just set a timer and move to the next account to continue spamming.

I'd much rather discuss this on the Yobit participant thread where You and Suchmoon have posted some stats but that thread stays locked as of now. The main campaign thread is also a troll fest. If you come across a more appropriate place to discuss this, lmk I'd happily be involved in a discussion.

312  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Google Drive UNLIMITED Storage! LIFETIME and NO expiration! $5 ONE-TIME fee! on: October 01, 2019, 11:33:12 AM
Okay I am interested but is there any way for you to describe to me how you are actually achieving this? No need to divulge your trade secrets but something general so I can understand what you are doing isn't going to nuke my google account.

I could also act as a vouch for you given my history on this forum. But remember I will not pay for a Vouch copy.

Either way with me as a vouch or a buyer, you'd be one step closer to proving your legitimacy. Let me know.

roach getting quite lyrical lately?
revealing a softer side of herself?

Roach is a she?

Does this mean she found that out after the botched PE surgery? JK

I have a feeling we may breach $9,000 again by the end of the week. No TA, I just think the bottom is in & we’ll start to creep upwards consistently before we end the year.

Halving not too far away = Bullish

Okay now this may not sound very optimistic but similar thought process worked when people were talking about LTC halving, look what happened since.

I know BTC is a different beast and historically it has always performed well after halving, I am just saying it is just too narrow of an event to consider going bull.
314  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Indian AWS Accounts on: October 01, 2019, 09:51:38 AM
yes there is 1 region with Mumbai name but i not this ...

i need indian country creator aws accounts.

because indian and other country accounts has different

No, it is not different for Indian account creators. There is only the Mumbai region, called the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region with 3 sub edge locations, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai.

You should do a bit more research before you decide to buy something.
315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 01, 2019, 09:43:15 AM
I'm slightly off grid again, the weather is amazingly sweet.
Last time was in June, where I had to cut it short for a few days - because of da pumping.
Hopefully by the time I return, we'll be back @$10k levels - at least.

Keeping half an eye of course, my longs are doing just great.
Yippee ki yay motherfuckerzzz. Cool

For your longs to be healthy, you must have had them open since the 3k levels earlier this year. Is that so?

I wonder what kind of liquidity would one need in an account if they were to open a short at the 19k levels and ride it all the way down to the 3k levels, considering the swings have been pretty wild in the meanwhile.
316  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: October 01, 2019, 09:36:05 AM
I just said this on another thread :

I think Yobit should be in a much better place if they had a max 2 post per hour limit in addition to reducing the max post count down by a bit.

Since they are scraping post data through their signature panel, they should be able to implement this easily.

This would quite easily curb down the spam and low quality posts. But no one on Yobit seems to care it seems and Yahoo is pretty much powerless here.

Making a few small amendments to the way this campaign is run would make the world of difference. But seeing how they are promoting their own forum, I don't think they care about the health of Bitcointalk at all.
317  Other / Meta / Re: Active users, top posters and most active topics in the past 1h, 24h and 7d on: October 01, 2019, 09:34:03 AM
What a surprise, for the lat 24h out of top 10 cryptotalk/yobit managed to get 6 places, I'm playing around with my tablet right now so I can't really check more but it is safe to assume they make more than 50% of the top 50?
CM has only managed spot 51, and that probably only because gentlemand is happy with his Q3 prediction game win.

I see also belicose up there and I know him from his pyramid bumps in ECOS and Pdax. Probably now it's more profitable to spam than bump...

Due to the hyper activity of one of my favorite scams, Maya Preferred, I've been posting like a maniac (for me) the last few hours and may stand a chance of actually getting on a list somewhere (fame at last!  Grin ) but, alas, I fear that the next Top 10 will be filled with people advertising Yobit's scammers hangout shit forum.

True..

One good example would be this accounts : https://web.archive.org/web/20191001004040/http://loyce.club/active/1h.html

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=101432

21 posts in 1 hour..
319  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Indian AWS Accounts on: October 01, 2019, 12:37:23 AM
Quite curious.

Why do you need Indian AWS accounts when you can simply change your server to Mumbai servers from the EC2 dashboard? Could you provide a solid reasoning?

I am tempted to take you up on your offer but I am not sure to what end the account that I pay for and open with my credentials would be used for..

PS: I agree that i took a swipe on you because your statement about Theymos seemed ill-placed.

Be easy on him bro.  Tongue As he said, he was in a party mood and had a few beers on  Grin

when i wrote this i was on a party mood and had a few beers.
LOL, I can't even read posts on bitcointalk while I am high. Tried it twice.

There's a simple solution to that. Stop drinking  Grin

After all, we're Indians, we have a history of not being able to handle our drinks.

But lest we divert from this topic, let's not bring this up again. The fact remains that we still need at least a merit source - if not a mod for this community.
