Come place bets on the NBA Finals in Freenode IRC channels #monero or #tippero. Just type:
Code:
!book
to see the current bets.

Type !bet <team> <amount> to place a bet, like:
Code:
!bet warriors 5
to bet 5 XMR on the warriors.

Who's it gonna be? Darth Lebron or Steph Skywalker? Gotta place your bets before Game 1 on Thursday night.

(2) somewhere, i missed an entry for genesis hash, merkle, pubkey address, or script address in the server source code.
...

I'd guess this one, but won't have time to look at it for few days at least.

Significant drop in hash rate: 205.35 MH/sec

Same in Monero. Are both mined by botnet?

Maybe some big gpu farms switching over to vertcoin, since it's up like infinity percent in the last week or so...

It did not make for happy reboots.
...

Are reboots ever happy?

Also, I've put together just a kind of place holder website for some kind of myr project here: http://myrcraft.com/

Not really sure what I want to do with it yet. I'm thinking of trying to make a pretty simple game, that if the player wins they get 10 myr or something, like a game/faucet. I was thinking of trying to put together more of a versus game where people could battle and winner takes all myr bet, but that seems infinitely more complex and I don't want to run afoul of any gambling type regulations. Any suggestions would be welcome.

On a side note can anyone tell me how to move the blockchain to a different drive as it is eating my SSD currently.

Thanks

You can use the -datadir=D:\where\you\want\blockchain\and\stuff flag to set it to another directory. If you're on windows you can just make a shortcut of the executable, then right click on shortcut and go to properties and add the flag/option to the end of the target field.

3048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: May 27, 2015, 12:55:17 PM
BBR is "family"....

...
The market has decided BBR is 3rd.  That's not a bad showing, and the competition makes all participants stronger.
...

Third or fourth, since actually Bytecoin has a 33% higher market cap than Monero. This is likely due to manipulation, but which markets aren't manipulated?

Everytime I see this NeoGAF logo on Steam I'm like, "Oh look, Monero has been greenlit on Steam. How about that?":

Apparently it's not even a game, just a curator:

Also, I know Monero has adaptive block size. I was commenting that Monero still needs to hard fork to implement permanent inflation rewards, and that maybe MP will be bellyache/troll similar to how he has over increasing bitcoin block size. It's kind of a scarcity issue along the same lines I think.

The inflation rewards are already in the code, no hardfork needed. This was always said to take place in the future. I dont think MP supports Monero (only him could say that), I merely pointed the link to an irc chatroom log.

Ohyea, I see where it is used:
https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/blob/master/src/cryptonote_core/cryptonote_basic_impl.cpp#L63

And defined as 0.3 XMR:

3053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 26, 2015, 02:55:33 AM
Is it a good thing to have MP on board? It seems pretty clear that Satoshi intended for larger blocks to come back (apparently original block size was 32 MB in bitcoin), and MP and his acolytes have been trolling hard to prevent any change and keep 1 MB blocks. XMR devs have committed to changing the code to add infinite inflation, 1% a year I think; is it unreasonable to think he would be virulently opposed to a significant change like this in Monero, even though it's essentially already agreed upon? Not saying it's necessarily a bad thing he if he is a Monero holder/supporter, just that maybe could be more trouble than it's worth...

Satoshi is gone, heres what the current devs say about it: https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/379ce5/the_lightning_network_requires_blocks_larger_than/crkspgl

Peter Todd is a developer. __The__ developer says that 20 MB blocks should be implemented in ~1 year, and I believe has already made public the code in a github repo. Also, I think it was pretty clear from some of satoshi's writing that 1 MB blocks were a temporary measure to combat spam, and he was considering (re-)raising the limit back in 2010: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1347.msg15366#msg15366 (he's even going to send out an alert telling people to update, just wait and see). Anyway, my point was that I'm not a fan of the tactics employed by Mircea Poopoo and his entourage in attempting to derail the increase in Bitcoin block size, what peripheral devs think not withstanding.

btw are there any insights regarding the conferences in europe someone wants to share?

It looks like fluffy is getting himself busy: http://search.bitcoin-assets.com/?q=monero Grin

good to have MP onboard.

update: just changed the tagline to tipbot instructions =]

Coolyo, not a huge steam user, just started really even though I've had account for a while, but just joined le group Smiley

Not trying to troll, I generally find the dev of this coin to be honest and hard-working, but I find the tagline on the Steam group:

Quote
Join the group and get rich together!

to be just a little off-putting because it sounds pump-and-dumpy. Just my opinion. Another minor complaint while I'm complaining: what's up with VIRAL scam pumpage in IRC channel?
3057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 25, 2015, 04:14:34 PM
i tried it, worked well.
unfortunately they send with mixing 0, rest worked fine for me. sometimes the price they offer is not so good, sometimes its better than on the exchange.

Hmm, I haven't tried it myself, but I could've sworn that I read Shapeshift uses mixin 3 now. I thought it was on reddit, but not seeing it now. Did you try within the last week or two, or longer ago than that?
3058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: May 22, 2015, 12:29:56 AM
You have to be careful about drive feezing, because if you go too cold, or run the drive for too long at cold then the spindle bearings will be destroyed. The bearings may damage the platter surfaces if they emit any particles or gelled lubricant while running cold, which would dramatically decrease the chances of data recovery by any paid service.
His failed drive is an SSD.

Yeah... you should microwave those for a little while to fix them.

The oven itself must be upside-down, and placed inside a freezer for some time before and while it's working. A popular saying also says "Not too long though, or it could damage it".

I've heard that a quick 10 s dip in liquid N2 followed by a 10-15 min soak in boiling water can do the trick too...
3059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: May 21, 2015, 03:51:25 AM
The name doesn't differentiate the product or describe what it is. Burst needs a name change.

The term "Capacity" is ambiguous. Proof of Memory makes more sense.

Change these two things and more people will join.

It's a harddrive coin not a RAM coin.

Kind of semantics, but there's not that much difference between a harddrive and RAM. You can load your whole OS in RAM and you can make RAM act like a HD. It's all 'capacity'.

You, and your Monero hating ass?  Enjoy the bargain bin, sucker.

Tammy and her two shitty kids will always love you for who you are on the inside.

Cheesus you're classy. With all your activity lately here and on reddit and polo, and posts like this, I can't decide if you're a concern troll or just like 14 years old.
