3061  Economy / Lending / Re: 1.5BTC Loan, 2BTC Repayment in 7 days on: September 14, 2013, 03:24:48 PM
Hello members of BitcoinTalk
I may be new here, but my intentions are quite clear and I plan on being here to make successful business with future business partners.
A highly experience team of professional programmers and marketers, along with myself, are in the process of developing a NEW Online wallet solution that is quick, easy and extremely profitable for future users. One of the highlighted benefits are the extremely low fees, along with the advanced API we are currently in the process of creating...which is what brings me here.
After a late projection, it seems we will only be a few BTC short from paying our developers...this has caused some last minute cuts, which leaves us short about 5BTC. We are definitely able to buy all of that BTC, though we see this as a test and as a future business bridge and a form of trust between ourselves and the members of BitcoinTalk by offering an opportunity for you to help the development of our Online Wallet Solution.

What are we asking for?
We are asking for a loan of 1.5 Bitcoins, which will be repaid within 7 days.

How much will be returned?
A total amount of 2 Bitcoins will be repaid within 7 days of the initial loan.

What is the purpose of the loan?
As explained above, the loan will be going towards our development team who will be making the final touches to the online wallets API and core functions.

How can you trust us?
Well, it is definitely up to you to decide that. We plan on providing a 100% functional and high standard online wallet within a matter of a month...As said above, your loan will establish a sense of trust between BitcoinTalk and our future company.

We hope to see an interested investor/lender soon, and that maybe this can be a future prospect for us all.

Best Regards,

Alison Zan
Email: ally.zan75@yahoo.com

P.S After reading around the forum, I have noticed a few things to ensure trust between our trade...I am willing to provide:
- Proof of Identity (License)
- Proof of Address/Residence (Utility Bill)

I will not provide anything else unless I think it is necessary, I will also not provide these details to those I think are not trustworthy.

Collateral is a must. Identity, address mean very little, collateral is king.

12.10 doesn't work. I will try the other ones this week.
Maybe I need an older version of cgminer?
I had 2-5850's, Vista64, CCC 13.1 and Cgminer 3.1. Make sure you do a complete uninstall of the CCC drivers. Also, you are deleting your .bin files from failed attempts in Cgminer?
3063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining problems on: September 14, 2013, 01:04:42 PM
Ah yes, KWH of course, I'm sorry. I haven't tried those yet. I was hoping someone could point me into the right direction, before I start trying them all one by one Smiley

Try the latest 12.xx drivers. Maybe 12.10? Hope it works for you.
3064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining problems on: September 14, 2013, 12:57:01 PM
I've already tried 13-4 . It doesn't work.
It's an older card. I believe I need an older driver but I can't seem to find one that's suitable for Windows 7 64bits

I posted the link to older drivers in your other thread.
3065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining problems on: September 14, 2013, 12:31:05 PM
I try to get my card mining again after installing a new OS: Windows 7 64bit pro.
cgminer(3.3.4) crashes “cgminer detected a problem and must be closed”. I’m running Catalyst 13.10_beta and I have a AMD 5770.
What Catalyst and SDK do I need?

thanks

I believe you need to use a much older driver. There are a few threads already started about this.
Here's one you started: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291035.0

Like I said, I can't mess with an internet Einstein.   Your not worth reading so ignored.   See ya.

And yet you continue to read. You are a good source of entertainment.  Grin

@OP, don't expect any help from here. Most of the lenders lurking here is loans sharks that only wants your interest and no feelings whatsoever. Why didn't you try loaning from your relatives or friends?

Are you another bitter loan requester that was shot down from lack of credibility, collateral or reputation? What do feelings have to do with loans? Need a hug do you?  Roll Eyes

Just a human that has some feelings. If you don't want to lend just ignore or say it nicely not making fun of it.

If you don't like the posts, stop reading and posting.

Sudbdl has a point.  Just because someone asks for a loan doesn't mean you have to be a dick, does it?   I know the internet tubes make people invincible and anonymous and all, but thats not justification.   Clearly someone with 180 activity should be treated a little better than someone with a joey alt and level 6 activity no?  And maybe perhaps if you don't like the fact that some people may want to respond differently, maybe your the one that should shut the fuck up and read on.

For you:

wuh oh, I messed with a comedy genius.  I am going to step away from the keyboard now as that image copy pasta is just to witty to contend with.   Feel free to continue being a twat.

Aren't you the witty one! Did it take you all night to think this up after your first deleted, lame reply? Talk about "genius".  Roll Eyes

3068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do Chargebacks work? on: September 14, 2013, 04:38:12 AM
I figured everyone would do chargebacks on ANY product right away if it worked everytime. There must be some safe guards since I've never done it either.

I'm actually shocked this isn't already happening.  My company has a lot of experience dealing with credit card processing on the merchant side, and I can tell you that the chargeback situation is getting worse and worse for merchants every day.  People are figuring out that you can, in fact, go on a big shopping spree and then charge it all back.  If you consider the incentive structure involved, you can see that it is likely to only get worse:

* Any customer can initiate a chargeback on any purchase.  Whether he received the merchandise, signed for it, or even bought it in person and provided a copy of his photo ID along with a signature does not matter.  His card issuing bank will accept the chargeback request and immediately deduct the funds from the merchant.

* The merchant will have an opportunity to provide the customer's card issuing bank with supporting evidence that the customer's claim is without merit.  What is accepted as evidence is arbitrary and subjective.  (I can provide you lots of specific examples that would make you really angry at the injustice of this system.)

* Statistically, card holders who dispute a charge are more likely to default on their credit card debt.  Card issuers lose money when consumers don't pay their credit card bills.

To put it more concisely, the bank who gets to decide whether or not to uphold the chargeback will tend to lose money by finding in favor of the merchant.  Banks will always choose the course of action that makes them the most money, not what would be seen as fair or ethical to honest men.

I'm absolutely amazed that everyone isn't charging back every purchase all the time.  Perhaps we'll get to that point once people realize there's nothing stopping them.  The situation reminds me of a line from George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones: "Power resides where men believe it resides...[power is] a shadow on the wall."  If people start to realize en masse that there's nothing stopping chargebacks on absolutely everything, other than a "shadow on the wall", all hell could break loose for credit card payments.

Here's something I posted a couple years ago about some of the other problems with credit cards for merchants:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36729.0

Starting to think of opening a service that allows people to post chargebacks automatically upon purchase lol....

You would probably be rich overnight.  Grin

I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I have some other things but not sure what would be sufficient.Any suggestions for collateral? I have a rare OJ simpson card that I'd hate to lose, would that work?
Pics of these with your name on something. Are you willing to send to the loaner to hold until the loan is repaid?
What use are pictures of his possessions?
Prove he actually has them in his possession?

Why don't you ask a bank?

Because I don't have any credit.  Its not that I have bad credit, I just don't have credit period.

Exactly why you need to provide adequate collateral.
3078  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Looking for someone who is willing to give me a long term loan, and advice on: September 13, 2013, 01:36:37 PM
I have a verified paypal since 2004 or so. And a photo ID/ Debit card statements.

It may not be the smartest move, But i want to get a foot in the door. If it didn't end up earning me money I would still pay back at the rate agreed upon from my personal funds.

Without collateral, I don't see this happening. Your best bet is work for it and wait until you get money in hand and buy the coins.

"Secured" with a personal guarantee is worthless.

Unless you have faith of course.  Some people are not trying to scam others.

We never hear this, ever.
I don't care if you pork pigs and beat your cat as long as you gave collateral for your loan.
