3061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Why do people think that they can time the market? on: April 09, 2018, 02:04:00 PM
No one is able to do this (timing the market) in traditional markets but everyone does try to do it both in traditional markets and in crypto. Why do people think that they're able to do this?

Is it because they think they can do it while no one else can? Let me know folks.
3062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can FUD destroy bitcoin? on: April 09, 2018, 05:09:40 AM
It matters how big the FUD is, who is spreading it, and who is believing it. If the FUD is big, something along the lines of people being able to steal bitcoin from a code problem in bitcoin -- that in and of itself is going to be a pretty scary claim for people -- plus if this is spread by mainstream media companies, I would think that this is going to be the nail in the coffin for bitcoin.

But let's say in the off chance everyone has lost faith in the MSM, then it doesn't matter what they say or report.

So yes, but the stars have to align in my eyes.
3063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Classes in Top Business Schools on: April 09, 2018, 05:04:29 AM
I wouldn't really see a need for this in the classroom, as you REALLY don't need to know the underlying tech to use Bitcoin / Cryptos in your business when it comes to handling a sale with bitcoin. I'd understand some seminars, that's fine, as they're just going to show you tax implications, best methods to accept, and so on and so forth.

But a whole course dedicated to bitcoin? Why? No reason for this in the least, I'd be curious to see the reviews for a course like this. As I think that these are colleges trying to follow the hype to cash grab some more tuition.
3064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you willing to give BTC in charity? on: April 09, 2018, 04:16:06 AM
No, but that's not me saying that I wouldn't be willing to give charities money in FIAT currencies. This is probably due to the fact that for me to  get more bitcoin (besides the amount which I have invested as of right now) I would have to pay someone fees to get it. I'd much rather donate to charity with Fiat money which isn't going to cost me anything extra / the charity extra to process.

Makes the most sense for me and the charity.
3065  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining without the hassles of mining on: April 09, 2018, 03:35:27 AM
BTCC now offers bitcoin mining without the hassles that come with mining: https://bt.cc/hashcloudminingannouncement

I have not went through the cloud mining investment always and warned the newbies many times to avoid investing on it. I found Genesis, Hashnet and Hashflare are seems good at this cloud mining platform.

Still we cannot consider all the new come clouders are legit person. I have not checked your website name or anything on badbitcoin.org
If you find this website listed with poor rating, it would not be worthy cloud option for forum members.

All of these are good, and have proved to actually have their mining equipment -- This is correct, tried, and true.

Though because they are legitimate, they aren't profitable for people. They're going to stop mining for you when it's not profitable for them anymore and then you'll be shit out of luck. Cloud mining is a waste of money, do it yourselves.
3066  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin's daily price fluctuations getting smaller and smaller? on: April 09, 2018, 03:11:08 AM
I'd think that the reason of this is because the market doesn't know which way the price should be going, the entire market is split between being bullish and bearish. So I'd think this is the time of uncertainty, so the market could go up, down, sideways, in circles, but who knows on this!

TLDR: Time of uncertainty.
3067  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The idea of hold coin (hold to die) is killing you - TIPS TIPS TIPS on: April 09, 2018, 02:30:48 AM
Well yes, everyone wishes that they knew the 'bottom' of the coin, but that's something that NO ONE  KNOWS AT ALL. People aren't going to be able to time the market in crypto just like they cant time anything else relating to investments, it's impossible and will lead you to either EARN LESS, or LOSE MORE.

Long term holding, in most market, leads to the most gains over time -- it is like this in traditional markets, and as of RIGHT NOW it is that way in crypto.
3068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NANO Team is Being Sued! Is NANO Dead? on: April 09, 2018, 02:17:22 AM
As others have said and I will reconfirm, this suit is trying to blame nano fo Bitgrail being hacked --obviously something which they have no control over. So this suit is going to be thrown out wildly fast, it has nothing which the NANO team has anything to do with and could control.

Nice try at trying to scare people though. NANO is not dead people.
3069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ban OR Bitcoin over taxation? on: April 09, 2018, 01:41:47 AM
Just for the record, all of the information about bitcoin being banned in India was fake news -- https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/04/07/no-india-not-banned-bitcoin-trading-government-confirms/ -- It was confirmed by the Indian government that this was fake news as well.

But back onto the subject here, taxation is, of course, better then being banned -- so if I was from India, or any country thinking about doing this I'd rather just be taxed on capital gain and such rather then a blanket ban.
3070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I secure my bitcoin wallet ? on: April 09, 2018, 01:26:49 AM
Well one of the first things that you should do is use 2FA on your wallet if it's supported. Then ensure to have a password which is ONLY for the wallet, don't reuse this password on multiple accounts -- b/c if one of your other accounts are leaked then you're going to lose your bitcoin --

Make sure to keep your private key PRIVATE. No one can be trusted with your bank account password / debit card pin So why would you show people your private key password.

Most importantly, USE A SECURE WALLET.
3071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Replace Gold ? on: April 08, 2018, 10:45:20 PM
I wouldn't think that the two would even come close to affecting one another, as it makes no sense. Gold is something which people use as a long term investment, something which people usually turn to in the time of a market downturn (like a massive one) Bitcoin is supposed to be a currency, one which people use instead of FIAT money.

So gold and bitcoin shouldn't affect one another at all, though who knows if they will. As some people do use bitcoin as an investment and not as its purpose, a currency.
3072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: George Soros goes from crypto skeptic to investor in just 3 months on: April 08, 2018, 08:59:10 PM
No one knows if he's buying, selling, or shorting bitcoin. It just says that his investment fund has gotten the OK to get involved with Crypto, so take that as you will. I wouldn't take it as much, given that all the news companies are more into making people trade a certain way rather then giving them real unbiased news -- so I think this is simply a sham to make people bullish while it could crush us all if he shorts the market.

Who knows!!!!!!!!
3073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase Exchange To Support Withdrawal Of Bitcoin Forks on: April 08, 2018, 08:41:35 PM
Well, coinbase isn't going to turn into the shitty exchanges, so they're only going to accept forks which are just shitty attempts for people to make a few bucks. The only forks they're going to accept is the top ones, I hope people know GDAX isn't going to support tons of random forks -- selling and buying wise.

This is (probably) just giving people access to their private keys so they can withdraw from these random forks. I wouldn't do it, but some people like to risk everything for a couple bucks.
3074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's Bitcoins? on: April 08, 2018, 08:09:33 PM
There is evidence to show that these coins were his, as the 20,000ish coins that the first miner had were never sold (check the article here - http://time.com/money/5002378/bitcoin-creator-nakamoto-billionaire/) showing that it is probably the creator, Satoshi, as anyone else would have tried to sell the coins which would've crashed the market. -- There is about a million coins in this stash, the 20k is just in one wallet I'm pretty sure.

So yeah, Satoshi does have a large amount of coins though he isn't selling -- who knows if he ever will and IF he does what that will do to the market.
3075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Salary Paid in Bitcoin - would you do it? on: April 08, 2018, 07:43:57 PM
Nope, it's too much of a tax problem for me to be doing it. I'd have to account for the price that I recived the bitcoin in, subtract fees from that, and say that that is my W-2 income (given the company is taking taxes out before sending me money in bitcoin) Then when you sell you're going to have to account for the amount of money which is made in capital gains, as the amount that you received and the amount that you sold at (or capital loss, goes both ways)

This makes it too much of an accounting issue, I would just like to keep my wages in a non investment area -- it'll cost me more if I get paid in bitcoin all the time.
3076  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does cloud mining work? on: April 08, 2018, 05:59:00 PM
Well in theory or on paper, the thing that happens it that you rent a companies, miners (be it their asics or their gpu's) and then you're going to get the profits that come from the mining -- minus some  fees that the company charges. You'd be able to rent for a certain amount of time or sometimes even unlimited.

Make sure you notice how I said this is how it works on paper -- in most companies they're going to scam you, in some of the reputable companies they're just going to stop paying you when it's not profitable for them anymore, so then you're going to be shit out of luck. Plus the fact that it literally makes no sense for a company to do this, they could just reap their OWN rewards.
3077  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready for crypto tax season? This article might help on: April 08, 2018, 04:39:10 PM
Just going on the article here, this isn't going to help most people. This is due to the fact that you shouldn't have the mount a defense and have to explain unreported things -- what you should be doing is reporting all of your gains, profits, mining, etc. And then you won't have to worry about mounting a defense.

Be transparent with the government, or they WILL crush you.
3078  Economy / Economics / Re: How do drug dealers get their bitcoin laundered? on: April 08, 2018, 06:30:57 AM
Multiple things that drug dealers online could be doing. They could be mixing through a mixing service, then sending their coins to monero and then switching back to bitcoin. This is something which is going to make it hard to trade, depending on the persons opsec and the mixing service used.

People could also just use a mixer; the good ones are going to be able to make these bitcoins clean instantly. -- Though the big problem with this is you may get coins which have been flagged by LE for drug stuff as well, so it may bring unessecary attention

People also go ahead and use localbitcoins / pax and sell the coins from anon accounts -- this gets them cash which probably helps them the most.
3079  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are there any groups for full time crypto traders? on: April 08, 2018, 06:24:35 AM
There are many, but I don't think that there are ANY groups of value for traders anyway. All of these groups are just shilling their own coins, bitcoin, spamming TA, or calling out their own private signals club which is supposed to help you in trading.

Stick with your own research when dealing with your own money, never rely on someone else to research for you -- as there is no point for someone else to do the groundwork for you. ALWAYS double and triple check news stories (this is true in crypto and the real world mainstream media)
3080  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC RECOVERING MONEY NOW GO TO 7040-7393 on: April 08, 2018, 06:19:38 AM
With all of those btc profits couldn't you use them to buy a better computer? I'm aware that's windows 7. But you are running that theme because it uses less ram

As a side note with you, that's Windows XP -- I didn't even know that people actually use that anymore.

Anyway, no one knows where the price of bitcoin is going to go. I hope that some day people come to the conclusion that all of the TA on here is a bunch of bullshit trying to fool 'dumb money' into following people. TA doesn't work in real stocks, and it isn't going to work in  the wild west of crypto.
