321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 23, 2024, 11:25:52 PM
Every kind of addiction will affect us mentally, physically, and financially so don't just draw the line only under gambling. I may have seen videos of such kind but I don't remember any of it because it doesn't really relates to me and I know how hard to recovery from any addiction from my personal expereince (not gambling).

Addictions works almost similarly, regardless of where the problem is emerging from, most gamblers who got addicted weren't just careless, some happened to be responsible, at the end of the process they became addicted. Meaning that whenever, we engage into any activity that has some form of addicting vibe, we have to be careful about it and not run short of staying responsible in the game. We always have things we love doing, until we can't control the reason why we started doing those things. Hence, addiction sets in and the trouble continues to torment the victim, mentally, financially, and many other ways. It's not simple to escape addiction, due to the fact that we tend to enjoy those activities, which kept us addicted.

Well, we all just for fun and things will go smooth and fun as well but one who doesn't keep things under limits will fall into addiction of kind that we only understand how deep we are into the shit when it's become too late. In gambling people who desperate to make money also gets addicted and there are people who wanted to distract themselves from addicted and many more people but the worst of all is, this can affect us financially first then things will escalate to family/relationship and if they are not supportive then it will broke the bonding and we just do it hard to forget the emotional damage that they are going through.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 23, 2024, 09:19:21 PM
Just do the math, if your income is enough to cover the spending then one source of income is fine but its clear that it isn't so fine something else that pays you more than your current job or just adds side hustle spreads the burden for a while.

Comparing your income and lifestyle with someone of your same income range but a different lifestyle can't really justify your view so better focus on your income and how much that you expect to spend a month along with emergency funds if the income is lower or nil then as I said find something that can bring more money to your pocket.
A lot of workers are just coping with only one source of income. Yes, they still managed to survive but most likely they tend to be more hopeless and helpless many times just to make everything fit in their small income. Whereas if you have side hustles that pay you decent amount, budgeting would not be too tight plus you get to save spare money for future investment plans and for emergency funds. That’s the advantage of not limiting yourself to one single job, although it’s not easy but with right time management, you can still make it successful and productive.

Side hustle can really ease out the financial burden but people were too stubborn to come out of their comfort zones or they feel like they don't really have any skills that can be monetized but seriously anything can be monetized in this digital era even the most useless things and a lot of social media influencers like tiktoker becomes something that they never expected to become without doing anything at all but ofcourse there is no assurance but better try and fail than just regret about it the whole time.

324  Economy / Economics / Re: China are back to mining Bitcoin. on: February 22, 2024, 04:45:09 PM
I recently saw a tech channel which I regularly follow made a vlog when he visited China, they still supply ASICs to all over the world and also have few machine running where they shop was located in a very popular electronic market in China. So mining never banned in China or but they only brought restrictions for using the electricity for mining purpose like big mining farms which already moved to central American countries to keep their revenue flow.
325  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Link several addresses to a given bitcoin wallet on: February 22, 2024, 02:36:22 PM
Super!

Question: when address 1 (which holds for example 1 BTC) of a wallet A sends 0.8 BTC to address 1 of a wallet B, do the remaining 0.2 remain on address 1 of A or are they assigned to a new virgin address (let's call it 2) on wallet A?

By default, the remaining balance from the UTXO will go to a new address called a change address but you have the option to send back the funds to the origin address itself or only a specific change address depending on which kind of wallet you are using.

As everyone said, it is impossible for any expert to predict and prove address x and address y are coming from the same seed phrase even if you have the private keys of both addresses.

326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 22, 2024, 09:36:13 AM
Why 80%? 100% of people bet because they feel they can win money.

Profit is not the right term because it's not a business or investment so everyone who gambles because it involves money or anything that holds value.

If someone thinks they can make money from gambling and pay their debt or fulfill their financial needs then it's stupidity.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 22, 2024, 06:59:19 AM
When we are on drugs which causes chemical imbalances in our brains will definitely affect our decision-making abilities which includes substance abuse too but the prescribed drugs will be given the right dosage while the substance can be consumed as much as the person can afford. This doesn't just limited to gambling, when someone is on drugs they should go to sleep and wake up without knowing what happened or with hangover is the best than burning all our money without even realizing it.
The adrenaline increases when you are into drugs or even with the alcohol, make sure not to do anything if you are under the influence of any drugs or alcohol because you might do something bad that can affect not just your gambling activities but also other people around you. You should control yourself all the time and avoid being greedy, taking drugs is not good at all for ang reason.

I've never been stoned but I am sure I have been drunken enough to feel like I have been in a half stage still I can see what I am doing but not under complete control and consumption of alcohol may induce adrenaline but it only produces dopamine and make chemical imbalance with our brain system which causes change is mood and when it's consumed in excess it can result in behavioural change too.

If you feel like want to drink and feel nothing else, then just do at home and don't bother anyone.

*I am not encouraging anyone to do this though.

329  Economy / Economics / Re: Some persons lacks financial sensibilities on: February 21, 2024, 06:01:08 PM
If the partner doesn't understand what you are trying to do then the relationship won't work, and generally the relationship in your teen or in 20s just long for a while not forever so never ever make decisions that may change your life for that person.

We should not categorize women lacks financial sensibility but one who knows, know.  Grin

Let's just give the equality they have been protesting on the social media or just let them completely independent, don't take someone's burden as yours unless the person does the same for you.
Its hard to stay in a relationship where mutual understanding is not practiced. That will only create some pressures between both of you. In the end, one may leave the other, or both will just end up get bored and lost interest with each other.

So as early as now, know if you can hold on to that person. Women will be women, but let’s not judge them being insensible just because of a single event. Try explaining about the situation and your concerns about her money struggles. If she refuse to understand you, that may be a sign that she’s not fit for you. Better spend your time and money to other different matters.

Another perspective is, she just wants to solve her problems on her won and doesn't want her partner to take responsibility for her financial needs which is a healthy event but as per OP statement, she wanted gift for that money is worth not just the actual money cause she feel money is irrelevant but the fact is money if the mother of all problems and solutions. As said, if this is happening more than a few times then better split in good terms and wait for the right partner.

331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 03:08:43 PM
When it comes to money then there is no emotional connection should be made, whoever who the amount should keep the money for themselves but if they bought the ticket together then only 50/50 is the right choice.

Legally even if mentioned has won then he is supposed to split the half to his partner but it's only applicable when they are married and seeking divorce.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make use of what you disliked because you can't stay away from it. on: February 19, 2024, 01:38:44 AM
I opened a betting account today (don't have to mention) but when I bet on their virtual games, they don't have the kind of options I am expecting to see but only provides more like only 4 options which are home win, away win, draw and over. So I bet if I could win but luckily for me I won ×2 of what I deposited, then I withdrawed the funds and mailed them to block the account because I don't find anything suitable for my liken but they replied me saying they can't and I have to make use of the account until 90 days before they can block the account.
However, it's my money and they can't force me to use it, so they have to block the account. I see that the only way to stay away from the betting account is not to fund it again.
So can anyone force you to make use of what you don't dislike?

It is probably mentioned in their terms and conditions so you would not be surprised if you spend time reading that while registering. If you want to stay away then you need to stay away and blocking/deleting an account from a particular casino doesn't stop you from playing in another casino and as well they are not going to encourage users to create an account and the next day want to block their account after winning some money.
333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Spot And Avoid Some of the Common Crypto Scams. on: February 18, 2024, 08:48:43 PM
snip
Yes, but i shared the tips that can save us from most types of the scam, And using 2fa can protect us all of the times, think of it in this way: assume that unfortunately you entered your details on that phishing website and the scammer got it, but when the scammer would try to login or withdraw the funds then how he will enter the 2fa? which may be a email verification code, or code which is in authenticator app in your phone or browser.

and using different browser profile can also save us, In my case, I save passwords in  the browser save password feature so it would be easier to enter the details in one click.
which increases the chances of entering the details on that phishing site too.

and one more advantage of using different browser is, we will discover less phishing links or no phishing links on that separate browser (or browser profile) because all those types of links will be on our daily use browser which have no details of financial websites in it.

Not entirely, 2FA is not a foolproof security measure and there are many ways that it can be bypassed so never consider it will save the funds in exchange when someone tries to hack then it is wrong.

Also, I am against saving passwords in the browser which may look secure but we are completely trusting the browser we are using with our credentials which can be used in any way and there is a high chance the saved data from their cloud if there is any data breach and it's more common though but only good thing is if the saved passwords are stored in encrypted format.

able to experience 12+ hours more of waiting or even just having that delay of 1 hour is already that putting you up on worrying. lol

There will be a pinch of frustration no matter who we are dealing with but when we need to worry is not just at 12 hours, at least a day can be given as the benefit of doubt because something can be under maintenance or unavailability of the person who authorize cold wallet to hot wallet, etc.

Personally I don’t mind if my withdrawal takes 1h or 24h. On fiat only casinos it can take up to 3 days before you receive your money and that is also fine with me. It is not that I will use that withdrawal money directly. What is frustating if when they advertise instant payouts and than it can take a couple of hours as that is just false advertising.

There are two kind of withdrawal, one is instant which actually exists in very few and I remember it exist in Bustadice but most casinos don't offer such withdrawal because they only process the request in batches so we see an option like priority that is supposed to get the withdrawal in the next batch whenever it proceeds it doesn't mean it will be instant while most user confuse the priority withdrawal with instant since both terms are totally different.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: New in bitcoin, 2 of my transaction is pending and i dont understand "bump" on: February 18, 2024, 05:49:50 PM
A big thanks to both of you

I will just wait cause the second TX will be confirmed soon
You should be watching the effective fee rate of your second transaction which might be lot less since you used 1sat/vb for the parent transaction.

Bumping fee will get your transaction to be confirmed or you may have to wait longer than you anticipated.

337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question on UTXOs on: February 17, 2024, 07:12:11 PM
As explained above, the scenario 2 is incomplete so it has to be like 3 Inputs => consolidated into 1 input => 3 output.
Not really sure that's what OP meant! Because in such scenario, adding an intermediary consolidation transaction doesn't make any sense, it's just a waste of money. The only condition where it would make sense is if the fee rate when consolidating is way lower than usual.
You have two transactions: the first has three inputs and one output, the second has one input and three outputs! Why do you need that! A single transaction with three inputs and three outputs is less costly.

AFAIK, he said transaction meant spending it and that is why the second consolidation doesn't really come under spending, it just gonna combines three UTXOs into one in one of his addresses so when we want to send the funds again three times it will be more costly than initially spending in three but if all the UTXO meant to arrive at same output address still the option 1 will be cheaper.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buying and Selling of Casino Accounts (Discussion thread) on: February 17, 2024, 06:16:39 PM
Selling casino accounts is prohibited as far as I know in most of the casino where they have reward system in place so if you ever came across someone selling casino account then just don't buy at all. It may be a fraud apart from that one who buys risk every deposit, bets, winning and withdrawal at risk and we all know sooner or later we will stuck with no option when they ask for KYC verification.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos team identity on: February 17, 2024, 05:08:38 PM

Edit: I apologize if my topic wasn't clear to many members here. To clarify, I'm not requesting for casinos to reveal their identity. As a gambler in many casinos myself, I feel comfortable without knowing the team's identity.
Just like casino team, we don't expose our identity here on forum because it's not required and definitely I don't need their identity because it might be hard for me trust whether they are really giving their actual names or just for the sake of doing it so better let them enjoy working with privacy regarding their consumers but they are mostly required to pass identity to get their licence.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stick to some Casinos or do you try out new ones? on: February 17, 2024, 04:23:31 PM

what do you think?. Do you believe he is right with the rigid approach to gambling?,  also should I continue convincing him  to try out something new and enjoy these great offers?.
Yes, he is doing perfectly fine and that is what exactly I do as well. Trying out new platforms just because of better offer is not convincing enough for me, so I just stick with where I used to play and occasionally I may try new ones if there is new games available on other casinos or I am not happy with service of casino where I usually gamble.

Also, you should not force yourself to play on different casinos for reasons that doesn't really worth like deposit bonus, weekly rewards and others because it doesn't worth the risk of it's literally a new casino in my opinion.
