okay, discovered source of sync problems it was my typo :p (i had checkpoint 18116 instead of 11816.) everyone needs to update to v112 https://github.com/bumbacoin/Electra/releases/tag/v112
.. the previous versions, v110 and v111, will become an issue when the chain actually hits block 18116, which will be in approx 6 weeks, they will reject the real chain.

Could we possibly find a way to properly update the coinmarketcap website page? I believe updating the correct market cap and circulating supply displayed on the page would be a good promotion for the coin. The new twitter feed was added a few days ago, 500% gains.. The page is starting to look good! If not possible, please leave a brief explanation why. Thanks! Link: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/stronghands/#chartsyou need an explorer showing current coin supply, coinmarketcap will then link that info with current price and calculate market cap.

You communicate with it like on any other system or like any other JSON-RPC interface. You use HTTP POST to send JSON encoded commands to the rpcport and you will get JSON encoded replies.
If you just want to interact with the RPC server from the command line, you can use the provided bitcoin-cli.exe binary.
In order to enable the RPC server with bitcoin-qt, you need to start Bitcoin Core with the -server option or add server=1 to your bitcoin.conf file.
yes command line, i'd forgotten about the cli :p i dont bitcoin very often. lol thanks actually, this thread is probably useful to move as it's more about other coin wallets lacking cli (ie not bitcoin). i will rephrase the question with more info. thanks again.

thanks have received bounty !*!*!*!
|
|
|
when running a qt under Windows,
how to actually communicate with it using command line ??
edit, to further clarify this is particularly regarding non cli available clients, ie not bitcoin.
so lacking any obvious command line interface how does one interact with a qt in a similar manner to a daemon ?
eg. coind.exe getinfo

Tried the OSX client, never get it synced, bar is creeping slowly... After hours still 1/4 filled. How long does it take usually? syncing can take a while, there is a copy of the blockchain available here http://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=881

i did some work on the code a while back, if you're sending 2 billion coins (from memory), you can bork yr wallet. this here's a link to my code and a windows wallet with fixes for that particular problem (will only allow you to send 1 billion coins) https://github.com/bumbacoin/stronghands/releases

lolz such drama. i have been waiting on dev to reply on slack re bounty for Tor integration, but haven't seen them in slack channel since 9 days ago .. (it's a very quiet slack ) and not on here in four days - but has just been the weekend, so one never knows maybe the explorer isnt up to date, (i'll let them know) maybe c-cex didnt send some coins, those are both independent third parties, the coin is fine, the chain is fine, if you're going to fud or dislike Tor Coin, at least dont be foolish.

recently
integrated Tor into TorCoin wallets, win and osx. denarius mac wallet, more xtrabytes mac wallets, Flappy coin, Fidget coin.

no idea if this will work, try changing statisticspage.cpp #70
QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString(volume); to QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString((qlonglong)volume);
Wow! That did work actually, thank you alot bumbacoin! Was that a bug on the code or did have something to do with my system? Anyway, thank you for your help it is not compiling perfectly! Are you going to be developing this coin on the future? Edit: seems like we have another error, there is no res folder at all which the compiler is looking for RCC: Error in 'src/qt/bitcoin.qrc': Cannot find file 'res/icons/torcoin-80.png' Makefile:1326: recipe for target 'qrc_bitcoin.cpp' failed make: *** [qrc_bitcoin.cpp] Error 1
It is looking for multiple icons from the res folder, which does not even exist. ah yes, sorry i thought i'd fixed that don't need them to build daemons .. those images are all in a sub folder, just move them. src/qt/res/icons/torcoin old images i'll fix that today hopefully. . every system has it's own quirks it seems . code just needs a good tweaking occasionally to fit onto some systems

here is a tor integrated torcoin wallet-qt for your anonymous pleasures, now available in windows and mac flavours, https://github.com/bumbacoin/torcoin-torintegrated/releases.. as is always the case when you are trying something new, back up your wallet prior to starting. also, this client may crash on first startup, or it may not if so, please restart Great work! However i tried to compile this on my ubuntu mate and got the following error: src/qt/statisticspage.cpp: In member function ‘void StatisticsPage::updateStatistics()’: src/qt/statisticspage.cpp:70:64: error: call of overloaded ‘toString(int64_t&)’ is ambiguous QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString(volume); ^ In file included from /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtGui/qguiapplication.h:40:0, from /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtWidgets/qapplication.h:45, from /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtWidgets/QApplication:1, from build/ui_statisticspage.h:14, from src/qt/statisticspage.cpp:2: /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:889:13: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(qlonglong) const QString toString(qlonglong i) const; ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:890:13: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(qulonglong) const QString toString(qulonglong i) const; ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:987:16: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(short int) const inline QString QLocale::toString(short i) const ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:989:16: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(ushort) const inline QString QLocale::toString(ushort i) const ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:991:16: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(int) const inline QString QLocale::toString(int i) const ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:993:16: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(uint) const inline QString QLocale::toString(uint i) const ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:895:13: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(double, char, int) const QString toString(double i, char f = 'g', int prec = 6) const; ^ /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qlocale.h:995:16: note: candidate: QString QLocale::toString(float, char, int) const inline QString QLocale::toString(float i, char f, int prec) const ^ Makefile:2433: recipe for target 'build/statisticspage.o' failed make: *** [build/statisticspage.o] Error 1
You know what maybe might be causing this? Never faced an compilation error like this and i cannot find solution to it even by googling it. Thank you for the new release anyway no idea if this will work, try changing statisticspage.cpp #70 QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString(volume); to QString qVolume = QLocale(QLocale::English).toString((qlonglong)volume);

Hi
I am interested in this coin, I see a potential in anonymous and fast transactions, and when I hear TOR it brings my attention. So I Would like to ask you couple of questions I did not find answers yet, or dont completely understand.
1. If this coin is implemented into TOR network and is using benefits of TOR network, doesnt it kill its scalability ? TOR isnt the fastest option for browsing, so how it is going to be with SPECTRE and number of potential transfers per second. I think this question is very important, if you are looking for mass adoption and real world usage.
2. Does SPECTRE support brainwallet ? ( accessing wallet, and doing transactions just with your passphrase ) 3. Does it support multi signature like NEM ? 4. Does Spectre have a whitepaper ? 5. What are spectres advantages over other anonymous Currencies ? 6. Is Spectres main goal to create mobile app for mass adoption where you can pay with XSPECs securely anonymously and quickly ?
Thx for reply
Sure I'll try to answer it for you. 1. No it doesn't kill scalability or harm security. All Spectre nodes are running as hidden services, no outbound gateways are used. The performance is reduced by a fixed constant (that is more or less proportional to the number of hops in the Tor network), but that doesn't change the asymptotic properties. 2. I don't know what brainwallet is, but you need at least your private keys to make a transactions. It address generation is not deterministic. 3. I don't know, maybe someone else can answer? 4. Not yet. 5. See 6.) I'm sure there are some further distinctive features, like running on the Tor network for example. 6. Yes. brain wallet being pretty much a paper wallet generator using a passphrase. ie, you remember your passphrase and yr key is in yr brainwallet i see no mention of paperwallet in thread.

Has anyone been successful in compiling the source code on linux, either with or without QT? I get errors about event2/util.h in Tor.
if you're on ubuntu you need to apt-get install libevent-dev
