just downloaded 1.0.6
running on win7 it got stuck on reporting last block as 15 hours ago, while also auto mining at the same time :p

had to force quit it, it froze up.

on restart quickly turned allow mining off.

then synced ok.

Are there additional dependencies that need to be installed when using mojocoind 2.4 on Ubuntu 14.04? I'm not in front of my rig right now, but I was getting a bunch or errors (I posted it in slack).

If so, what's the apt-get link?

I'm getting the following error:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found

Can anyone help? I'm on Ubuntu 14.04.

are you using the version i compiled ??
i've noticed i've compiled it on ubuntu 16.
possibly 14.04 doesnt have that version or is looking in the wrong spot.

i'll have a look and see what i can do. possibly recompile for ubuntu 14 Smiley

try this version.
compiled on ubuntu 14.04. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5j8d4FSc7draEgwc0pYa2dXTkk/view?usp=sharing

the problem seemed to be that that system lib was not backward compatible.
haha hope no-one comes along with ubuntu 12 ..

we are still curious about this new exchange crypto-trade.net
but in good news, they have added bootstraps for all available currencies they list.

We are pleased to inform you that you can now download bootstrap.dat for any cryptocurrency from our site.

I have compiled the QT linux version and I'm getting errors starting it because the wallet is linked against Berkelydb 5.3 but I compiled the wallet with 4.8 libraries as recommended:

        ldd mojocoin2.4.0.0 |grep libdb
        libdb_cxx-5.3.so => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdb_cxx-5.3.so (0x00007f98f999a000)

Can you check it?

Any comments about this?

if you made the qt using https://github.com/MojocoinV2/mojocoin/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md then you should have a static compile?

seeing as how you don't seem to have a static compile you could try setting up the path to that before you open the qt, and see if that works (lol i have no idea)

in the terminal :
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/path/to/library/"

then open the qt in terminal
(if it works, this is not a real fix, and you'll probably have to do it everytime you want to run it)

Anyone know how to back up one's blocks, so that one can take this with them to another machine, cold storage, etc.?

from yr mining machine
you can transfer multiple accounts/balances to a different public key easily enough.

nice and smooth.

Anyone know how to back up one's blocks, so that one can take this with them to another machine, cold storage, etc.?
Encrypt & export your private keys, then import them to the new machine.

not very cold storage to use the same key. that'd be hot storage Smiley

although i quite enjoy the demand for encryption on exporting private keys
772  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exclusivecoin / kingscrown / richiela "reboot" scam <BITTREX ENABLED SCAM> on: September 30, 2016, 08:37:29 AM
oh, another thing.
there was no maximum coinsupply of exclusive old,

bitcoin has a max because of halving block reward, so it would never reach 21 million, jut keep getting closer and closer.

old excl had a constant PoW reward, and % PoS. supply would've kept going up til the code broke Smiley

https://github.com/exclusivecoin/Exclusive/blob/master/src/main.h#L39
Code:
static const int64_t MAX_MONEY = 60000000 * COIN;

refers to maximum you can transmit in either a single tx or a single block. one of those.

.
just imagine you're driving somewhere,
you always travel at x km/hour where x is how far you are from your destination.

at 300km distance, you travel 300km/hr. it'll take you an hour to get there,
at 200km distance, you now travel 200km/hr. it'll take you an hour to get there,
at 100km, you travel 100km/hr. it'll take you an hour to get there,
..
at 1km, you travel at 1km/hr. it'll take you an hour to get there,

no matter how far you travel you will always be an hour away from your destination. lol. just like bitcoin will never get to 21 million, or wahterver it is.
773  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exclusivecoin / kingscrown / richiela "reboot" scam <BITTREX ENABLED SCAM> on: September 30, 2016, 08:17:48 AM
Conspiracy theory: most of the accounts posting on the new exclusivecoin thread are the same two people.

Bumbacoin is an original person, who may also run the accounts BETAWI, Cryptonick, and CryptoBomg

Exclusivecoin is an original person, who may also run the accounts forzendiablo, alt 213, PinkyTheHater, Caladonian, rindo and AmoreJaz

lol i'm famous !!! almost ..
but no, i'm none of those Smiley i'm a long term EXCL holder, and i built the recent mac releases, and have been helping in the background with recent issues.

.

but getting to the scam part.

you seem to be arguing that the real coin supply was much lower because
Quote
There was a ~6,000,000 coin start. according to this thread and the one you linked. There was an ICO and a burn for this coin, which originally gave this coin value. That burn that was meant to represent original investment has now been turned into dev coins.

no more than 10million coins were mined, use your brain, there was only a 2% a year stake rate.

but you also say https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=771755.msg16015115;topicseen#msg16015115
Quote
the incredible bloat happening with the wallet was because of the 16s block time, which would have been incredibly simple to fix without a 10:1 split or Kingscrown giving himself all of the exclusivecoin.

possibly the problem here is that you're not appreciating what a 16s block time does to a coin supply.
nor that annual interest = compounding interest, interest is calculated at each PoS block based on coinage in relation to "annual interest"

hmm. basically, if you could stake the same coins daily you would get standard compounding interest.
x0
x1 = x0 + (2% /365)
x2 = x1 + (2% /365)
x3 = x2 + (2% /365)
etc  => 2% compounding 365 times in a year

obviously it only compounds upon staking, so if it staked every week, it would only compound 52 times Cheesy

..
there's a commit to the old coin https://github.com/exclusivecoin/Exclusive/commit/933080be131208371bc88578876a8c60f7e22631
which reduces POS rate (2% >> 1%) and POW rate (8coins >> 4 coins),
dated 5 may 2015, and taking effect at block 1,120,706,

(at 40 secs, there should be about 2160 blocks per day.
roughly coin was released late september, time til early may = 7 1/2 months.
expected block count by that point should be < 500,000 )

lets pretend half of those were PoW (no idea of correct number), which suggests an extra 4.4 million coins already.

then ,, add another year of hybrid (with reduced rewards) ..
so,
haha i am not going to guestimate the block count, nor the total coin supply after that period.

but obviously not 6 million coins, and obviouisly not only 2% of 6mill/year.

..
[edit]
see post below, there was no max coin supply for EXCL OLD.

perhaps this was also part of the misunderstanding.

there could have been 1 billion theoretical EXCL OLD at coin swap if the chain was old/big enough.

I don't know what happened... Could you help me Dev?

this has been a problem with associated code base (as well as problems connecting) that transactions can take a long time to confirm.
according to the block explorer they are still in your wallet.

you'll need to resend the transaction

not sure if the transaction data is still in your wallet, but the simplest way is to open your wallet, go to debug> console and type
resendtx 52b322df5aa6a28ef23161b36b552625d0a3a14756c9ae72caaf5d97efaf8e97

hopefully you can double click on the tx in your wallet, and it will say something like
0/uncomfirmed, broadcast through x nodes.

the more cnnections your wallet has the more likely it will happen quickerer and the higher "x" will be.

//
if this doesnt work,
you can try going to the console and typing
repairwallet

this should make the coins available again to spend, then try sending them again.

hint.
leave the wallet open till it has lots of connections before sending . over 4 is better, over 10 is betterer ..

feel free to PM me if you want further help

Hey Twitchyseal,

Sorry I went off on you, I'm still frustrated over getting scammed the other day.  The conclusions you've reached could be totally plausible.  I wouldn't even be surprised if someone did a legitimate escrow transaction
for 5,000 or 10,000 coins to reel someone in to later scam them on a much larger transaction. What a sick world!!  Thanks for letting me know the schemes that go on around here.  I do appreciate it.

No worries.

You should really start a thread here.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

The alt coin scam busters will b e able to figure more out and at least make sure those accouts become worthless.

handling accounts is slightly painful Smiley need an api or somesuch to make handling large quantities simpler

another suggestion is to allow multiple accounts being used as inputs for a single transaction. as in bitcoin when all coins within a wallet, no matter how many addresses) can be drawn on.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin EXCL - MasterNodes Guide, Bittrex Trading, Pump Bot & More! on: September 20, 2016, 02:50:39 AM
i'm having a new problem with my wallet. I only have 2 active connections.
My dashboard says I have 257 EXCL Available.
When I try to send coins, I get an Insufficient funds error.
When I run RepairWallet, I get The following message.
{
    "mismatched spent coins" : 1,
    "amount affected by repair" : 250.00000000
}

When I run it again I get:
{
    "wallet check passed" : true
}

However if I try and send coins again, it goes through the first time, but come up as conflicted. If I run RepairWallet Again after attempting to send coin, I get the same message above:
{
    "mismatched spent coins" : 1,
    "amount affected by repair" : 250.00000000
}

Any suggestions on how to move forward?
My last confirmed transaction receiving the 250 EXCL.
My first conflicted transaction is 'Darksend create Denomenations'

you could try starting wallet with -rescan,
but i find that to be generally not as useful as it should be.

the other thing to try is to convert your copy of the chain to a bootstrap, then import all the chain anew.

keep yr wallet.dat safe. what i often do is just duplicate the entire datadirectory folder.

stop exclusivecoin client
go into your datadirectory,
rename blk0001.dat > bootstrap.dat
delete 2x folders. database, txleveldb.
restart client.

the wallet should now say "importing blocks"
mine took about 30 minutes i think.

Morning guys,

yesterday i did a fresh install of mint on my staking box built wallets for 1337, Espers, Syndicate & OKCash without issues, still failing to compile mojocoin though current error I'm getting:

Code:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsecp256k1
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:984: recipe for target 'mojocoin2.3.0.1' failed
make: *** [mojocoin2.3.0.1] Error 1

Syndicate also has secp256k1 in the src folder and built without any issues, any advice?

i had similar probs with OSX, i think it has to do with the library not being a system wide install Huh

try commenting out
https://github.com/MojocoinV2/mojocoin/blob/master/mojocoin.pro#L746
Code:
#LIBS += -lsecp256k1

if it still tries to make secp256 you might need to comment that bit too.

Code:
#Build Secp256k1
INCLUDEPATH += src/secp256k1/include
LIBS += $$PWD/src/secp256k1/src/libsecp256k1_la-secp256k1.o
#!win32 {
    # we use QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_RELEASE even without RELEASE=1 because we use RELEASE to indicate linking preferences not -O preferences
 #   gensecp256k1.commands = cd $$PWD/src/secp256k1 && ./autogen.sh && ./configure --enable-module-recovery && CC=$$QMAKE_CC CXX=$$QMAKE_CXX $(MAKE) OPT=\"$$QMAKE_CXXFLAGS $$QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_RELEASE\"
#}
#gensecp256k1.target = $$PWD/src/secp256k1/src/libsecp256k1_la-secp256k1.o
#gensecp256k1.depends = FORCE
#PRE_TARGETDEPS += $$PWD/src/secp256k1/src/libsecp256k1_la-secp256k1.o
#QMAKE_EXTRA_TARGETS += gensecp256k1

# Gross ugly hack that depends on qmake internals, unfortunately there is no other way to do it.
#QMAKE_CLEAN += $$PWD/src/secp256k1/src/libsecp256k1_la-secp256k1.o; cd $$PWD/src/secp256k1; $(MAKE) clean

edit
oh i see ebk1000 suggested commenting out the  gensecpetc. line above Smiley

heh and you have to be careful doing a system install of secp256k1, there are a few incompatible versions floating around in different coins and they have no versioning to tell wtf is going on. lol
