321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spending extra to keep my assets out of trouble on: March 23, 2024, 03:34:02 PM
~snip~
It's called safety practice, yeah I spend gas fees three times, $7 for moving the old token to another wallet address roughly $10 for the swap, and another $7 to send back into the hardware wallet.
It's a $24 thats well spent because my hardware wallet consists of many assets that are way higher than $24 in total value.

And then someone complains that Bitcoin on-chain transactions are expensive Roll Eyes

I agree that it is good to remove any risk when it comes to hardware wallets, but it is obviously not the cheapest practice, especially if someone has more tokens with which they want to perform such "acrobatics". I honestly did not know that gas fees are more expensive than a liter of fuel at a gas station Shocked
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TimeLock for 40 years payday? on: March 23, 2024, 03:10:45 PM
As I am 40 years now, I want to buy a new bitcoin wallet, send bitcoin with timelock to a bitcoin address I have, distrubuted for the next 40 years, that on daily basis ( or monthly or Weekly)  I get some bitcoin for the coming 40 years.
~snip~

You have a clue from the future about how many years you will live or you have chosen a number that you like? It seems a bit frivolous to me, because theoretically you can live another 60 years, but also maybe death knocks on the door much sooner than you expect - because life is like that, unpredictable. Learn to control yourself, I think it's the best method, which is actually very simple and free.

You don't buy a bitcoin wallet, you create one!

It is possible that he meant a hardware wallet, given that he mentions Trezor. But maybe someone reading this will come up with the idea of making a hardware wallet that could be programmed in some simple way to "release" a certain amount of BTC in a certain period of time regardless of all the problems that can arise from such a setup.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New EU AML ban bitcoin anonymous payment on: March 23, 2024, 02:49:51 PM
Have cryptocurrency payments ever been anonymous? This now means that I will not be able to pay for a sandwich and a coffee with Bitcoin until the seller checks me in the system, because actually the geniuses in power want to say that we are some kind of criminals, I guess?

However, Bitcoin exists to bypass such nonsense, because all their bans are worthless if you have a non-custodial wallet and send coins to someone who has the same wallet. First they fought against crypto mining, then they discovered that there is practically no such thing in the EU, and now they want to scare people from using Bitcoin - what's next, hunting Bitcoiners and burning them like witches in the Middle Ages?
324  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 22, 2024, 05:50:35 PM
I'm telling you that in that country (as well as in most Balkan countries) everyone and everything has its price, and Montenegrin (Serbian) politicians are not the brightest when it comes to making enemies. I already wrote that according to Montenegrin law, the US has priority in extradition because they were the first to request it, but some people are obviously too stubborn to understand that. Let them just play smart, but when the US sends them a secret agent Jason Bourne, then they will see who they are kidding Grin

In the meantime, a little recreation in the Parliament of Montenegro - maybe it's about Do Kwon Roll Eyes
325  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bunny Loader ver 3.0 - most crypto wallets are being targeted on: March 22, 2024, 12:18:03 PM

So we all know how this are being spread,
- emails riddled with malwares
- fake software downloads
- fake messages flushing in your computer like "you have been infected" and you need to click a link.

Given that we know how it spreads, we just need to adhere to basic online hygiene and the chances of getting infected with this or any other malware/virus are minimal. If we also have a good (paid) antivirus program installed, then we have another level of protection in case our attention slips for a moment and we click on something we shouldn't have.
326  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: March 22, 2024, 11:48:56 AM
There is no bitcoin ATM in my country but I have heard that there are some countries where there are bitcoin ATMs. I would like to know that if there are charges to use these bitcoin ATMs. What are those charges ? If there are no charges, then who pays for the maintenance of these bitcoin ATMs ?

If you ever don't understand why nobody will hire you to promote something in your signature (given that you offer it), then return to this topic and try to understand the absurdity of your question. Is there any private service anywhere in the world that does not have to be paid for?

Crypto ATMs are not devices set up by good fairies, but people who want to make money by charging a (mostly) very high commission for each transaction.
327  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I need help/advice on how to efficiently recover money invested in an ICO on: March 21, 2024, 04:55:47 PM
~snip~
The main thing is there are assets (properties) that are still standing and being used to generate income. I know the exact buildings, locations, etc. They are listed on Booking.com and on the developer website too. I have copies of the deeds/titles of said properties.

~snip~
Then a number of properties were purchased in Thailand and I started receiving rent until COVID hit us.

I have no doubt that the properties are there, but the question is who are the owners who rent them out - it is possible that they are not the people behind the ICO in which you invested. It is possible that the real estate has been sold, and that seems the most logical - because if your business goes downhill, you can also face claims from clients, and then why risk something that can be seized and sold at auction.

What you need is a good lawyer who is familiar with real estate and also knows something about ICO/cryptocurrencies + to go with him to Thailand and try to find out on the spot who the owners of those properties are.

It could also be a trafficked slave. Especially in southeast Asia (I'm pretty sure our fellow bitcoiners from that area can tell us more about it) it is very common for women to get trafficked into large rooms and be essentially forced by a few guys to conduct these kinds of scams to unsuspecting gullibles like the OP.

The majority of this money actually goes to the guys running this whole operation.

It's not only women, but also men, and in that part of the world modern slavery is in full bloom, especially since cryptocurrencies have enabled a much greater degree of anonymity than was previously the case with banks. I don't know what the punishments are for those caught in the organization of such slave farms, but if you asked me, they would never see the light of day again - solitary confinement for life.

Are we back? Cool

$68K in one hour
We are definitely back and this time is with enough energy that can possibly put us far above the previous ATH.

As usual, there will be minor turbulence if the below holds water:

Source: https://coinmarketcap.com/community/post/334841115

It may be a stupid question, but considering what happened with the liquidation of long positions and futures options a few days ago (about $1.5 billion), what impact will the liquidation of almost $10 billion have on the price? Can we assume that another correction is inevitable, especially if ETFs inflows are at the levels we have had in the last few days?
330  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEBITCO.IN SCAM, DEPOSIT NOT CREDITED on: March 21, 2024, 03:46:31 PM
~snip~
It's sickening to have to wait almost 8 months to get a simple issues such as this one resolved. In all honesty I have lost faith in the platform and its owners.

I want to believe that there is a good explanation for what is happening to you, but this kind of thing should not happen to someone who generally has a very good reputation as freebitco. Even if your deposit ended up on another freebitco account due to an error in their system or something similar happened, that is no reason to ignore someone for so long instead of answering and returning the funds.

I don't want to believe that your case is unsolved just because you are new to this forum, but I'm pretty sure that something like that wouldn't happen to one of the older and more famous members of the forum.
331  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEBITCO.IN SCAM, DEPOSIT NOT CREDITED on: March 20, 2024, 04:48:22 PM
I never thought I will find myself doing this but waiting to get a simple issue as this one resolved for almost 8 months now is just madness. I need all the help I can get on this, TheQuin has been online quite frequently in recent times and still ignoring, I don't know what else to do. Feel so hopeless now.

If everything you wrote is correct (and it seems that your request is quite legitimate) then it's really strange that no one has been able to solve it for so long. I've also been a user of that service for about ten years and I've never had any problems with deposits or withdrawals, so it's really strange to me that one deposit can "disappear" in this way.

I hope that your case will be resolved as soon as possible, because you have waited too long.
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 20, 2024, 04:32:00 PM
I've been watching with interest as Bitcoin has pulled back over the past week after hitting new highs. Part of me wants to accumulate more while the price is down, but I also wonder if we may see it drop further in the short term.
~snip~

The part of you that wants to invest should do it now, the other part should wait for an even lower price and we'll see which part was right Wink

Joking aside, I think that every opportunity should be used, including this one that has appeared now, but the question is always whether there will be a new, even better opportunity. Perhaps it is best to calculate how much money you will actually save if the price drops another 10-15% compared to today, because if you buy for very small amounts, then the savings will not be significant.

But of course for each train there are passengers. There will be people, (later Boidom confessed he is a Greyscale investor), who will keep money in Greyscale, believing everything is fine. So, Greyscale won't go down to 0BTC, probably. The real bull run will start when they stop flooding the market with thousands each day.

There is no doubt that Grayscale affects the price of Bitcoin, but if we take into account that since the spot ETFs were approved, they have sold about 250 000 BTC, and that as of yesterday, the total number of BTC held by all other US spot ETFs is 467 000+ BTC, that means that they all bought from another source if we also take into account that BlackRock holds roughly the amount of BTC that Grayscale has sold so far?

It is also interesting that the last significant inflow of BTC to ETFs was exactly one week ago (10 000 BTC), and that since then there have been no significant inflows, in fact, in the last 2 days, an outflow of 7300 BTC was recorded.

The strange thing is I've googled & duck-duck-goed the hell out of "PKEK" & can't find anything about it. How can anything you can install on an iPhone have Zero info about it on the "Inter-Webs"? It's very strange. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of it.
Thanks!

The answer is very simple, and it's about the fact that the app you installed is something that is not publicly available, but it's about an app that spreads privately in the way that it happened to you. The first advice I have for you is not to communicate with complete strangers via social networks, and especially not with those who "know something about crypto" and want to help you.

Another tip is to delete that app and hope it doesn't leave anything malicious behind.
335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Develop to maintain your bitcoin holding anonymously to the core. on: March 20, 2024, 11:30:35 AM
People behave differently when it comes to privacy, this can be seen in many examples, even on this forum where some post pictures and real names, while others are so focused on their privacy that it is difficult to detect which country they come from.

However, privacy in real life when it comes to our finances is extremely important, which means that you should not talk about how much money you have invested in something, especially something as volatile as Bitcoin. In addition to attracting attention to ourselves and becoming a possible target, we can also cause financial damage to others who will engage in such investments and perhaps lose a lot of money.

In such situations, people usually look for someone to blame for the bad things that happened to them, and in most cases they will blame the person from whom they got the idea, not themselves.

There are so many "harmless" topics that you can talk about in the company of your friends and acquaintances, I don't see a single logical reason why you would talk about what you do with your money.
336  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do I find out if a coin is tainted? Are there lists? Or services that check. on: March 20, 2024, 11:09:06 AM
That's my opinion which is why I have delayed advising the people asking me to do hi end escrow amounts unless they can get into a direct relationship with coinbase. I do not see the 1-3% fees working if they get 100 'bad' BTC coins in an escrow.

In addition to direct purchase from miners, it is possible to get "clean coins" if they are bought at auctions - and the US has a considerable amount of seized BTC that it occasionally sells at auctions.

However, even if clients would buy 100 BTC through the OTC of one of the well-known CEXs, wouldn't that be a sufficient guarantee that that BTC is "clean" enough to not have problems with it in the future?
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 19, 2024, 03:05:43 PM
Isn't it $40b? It shouldn't take that long I don't think, maybe another month or two? Especially if the selling continues to increase.

Can someone remind me how much Bitcoin GBTC had to begin with, how much they've sold already? Want to calculate what the timeframe is looking like.

Ironically without GBTC outflows, there basically are no outflows, even if lower inflows at present, which speaks volumes...

The sooner that GBTC is flushed out the market the better.

At the time of approval of the spot ETFs, Grayscale had just over 600 000 BTC, and according to the data I am looking at today, it has about 368 000 BTC - which means that their bag is still quite full. It seems that a few more months will pass until they sell everything they have planned.

338  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: List of sites that Accept Bitcoin Payments on: March 19, 2024, 02:47:07 PM
This site was created with the idea of becoming a directory of all websites that accept bitcoin payments onchain or lightning
~snip~

Nothing new that hasn't been seen many times before, so although I can't say how many of those "ideas" are still alive today, I know that at least one of those ideas is still alive. What I noticed is that, unlike other similar directories, there are far fewer categories here, and that is something that could still be worked on.

Another thing that should be corrected is that clicking on one of the external links loads the page in a new window instead of the existing one.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: March 19, 2024, 02:20:39 PM
El Salvador has USD as a legal tender. That makes bitcoin to be a legal tender in the country to be easy as they do not have their own fiat. But another country that makes bitcoin a legal tender is CAR and also an island in Honduras...

I don't know how many times I wrote to you that that country withdrew that law a long time ago and that the only country that has Bitcoin as legal tender is El Salvador. It is a shame that a "Legendary" member is sharing false information👎

In April 2022, the Central African Republic (CAR) adopted bitcoin as legal tender, becoming the second nation in history to do so. However, just a year later, the nation reversed its decision.

For everyone who, like the OP, thinks that Bitcoin should be legal tender in order to be used as a means of payment and who are obsessed with El Salvador, it would be good to finally understand that Bitcoin does not need to be legal tender in order to be successful - BTC is an alternative to existing payments methods, and all those who need a "green light" from their government to use it do not understand what Bitcoin is at all.
340  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do I find out if a coin is tainted? Are there lists? Or services that check. on: March 19, 2024, 01:59:44 PM
There is only one way for someone to be sure that he will not buy or in any other way come into possession of what some call "tainted coins", and that is to buy Bitcoin directly from the miners, and such coins used to be called "virgin coins", and it was said that some even pay a premium price for such coins.

Considering that we have about 19.6 million BTC in circulation, of which we mined 10+ million in the first 4 years, and another 5.25 million after 8 years, all the bad things that happened in the first years and after that in some way marked all that coins. Of course, every BTC seizure that has happened since then has cleaned up a lot of BTC in some way.
