3242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin Investigative Bureau -- address list, API to track stolen coins on: January 13, 2012, 12:46:42 AM
A final address list has been released.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=58DV7075

Preliminary statistics
Addresses found: 94438
Total received including change: BTC 38,243,033.770666
Total sent including change: BTC 38,228,161.404752
Remaining balance: BTC 14,872.365914166

how did you managed to gather all those addresses ...  ? and btw could you correct posted totals and balance, the numbers don't seem right. Thanks

The numbers look right to me...

maybe you should look again...

It's entirely possible that MyBitcoin has sent over 38 million BTC, if that's what you're talking about.

piuk: Thanks for the IPs!  They might help in tracking Tom down.

Dunno, you sure is bitcoins what we're talking here...  .365914166 !?!

edit: would be possible to show us some code of the tools you we're using, please

I'm liking this pool of money for cutting my hair. How much would I have to cut off, exactly? Would I have to look like a skinhead, or would short hair suffice? I'm not particularly attached to my hair. The only reason it's so long is because I don't like haircuts, so I might actually do this.

lol, then go on, we have pledged 6.5 so far and make sure you get it recorded  Grin
3246  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Hangout on: January 12, 2012, 09:19:17 PM
Is there an alternative for Paypal?

lol, you're asking this on the bitcoin forum dude
3247  Economy / Services / Re: I will hurt myself for bitcoins! on: January 12, 2012, 11:04:03 AM
Screw hurting yourself.  I'll give you 0.5BTC to shave that mop off your dome.
Now that would be something really worth paying for, I could see a nice size pool payment for doing it.
I'm sure.  I bet he could raise a ton of bitcoins if he were to pledge to donate it to Locks of Love.

I will pledge 5btc if you do that.

I don't think he would want to do that but a shorter one will surely make Ryland look nicer indeed. I have a long hair too like this...

I pledge 0.5 btc to have Ryland cut its hair by a decent amount that he feels comfortable with.

edit: 6.5 btc total pledge until now

......................

If Mt. Gox is forced to reveal info due to governmental demand, well, that's that.

But I personally would rather them NOT just step into a policing role in this matter. I already have my concerns with using their service... for them to do that would just cinch it.

If individuals discover the output of the funds themselves, then good for them, hopefully they can resolve their losses in a peaceful manner.

will see about how peaceful they are when find out where that guy is, will be like next Osama

...................

I often wondered why the Governments don't encode a BarScan, QR Code, etc... on their dollars and each and every transaction taking place can be verified as to their are not duplicates(counterfeits) and track every dollar and transaction for goods and services.. They would be able to follow all physical currency to who(or at least where it has last been used) currently holds that bill.

......................

they already did... http://counterfeitdetector.blogspot.com/2007/07/rfid-tagged-euro-banknotes-now-in.html

...me making the call to the cab company and sending the Bitcoins on my computer....

how will you know his bitcoin address... I hope you wont have him spell out the address on the phone!

here is my solution:
http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/site.php?site_id=825

I'll need his company phone number & bitcoin address. I'm sure there is lots of other information he will want to put up on this listing. like his exact location or service area, I could throw in a google map.

i know it looks shitty... thebitcoinreview.com is in desperate need of a make-over, and its coming soon! In the mean time any publicity is good publicity  Wink

It could also be nice if the cabbie had a website. He could even have the cab request made right from the website. The site could even show if he is available and what area he is in. Through the ride request page on the site a msg is sent to his phone stating your location, destination and time of pickup. He replies to confirm the time and sends back a total, btc address and QR code.  There are a miriad of options that can be given to make it more convenient for either party.

woo, let's go nice and easy on him, he just started tweeting few weeks ago  Cheesy

edit: lol my 1000 post, i'm not a "virgin" nemore

Nice.

i can smell his fear of having a whole bunch of bitcoiners hunt him down for what he's done. I didn't have anything to do with his service but he can be tracked for sure. Would be nice to have affected people post some addresses where they sent their coins to and track them down with the help of the exchanges. They could hold the coins like mtgox did and force the person to identify too.

I know this is not very much possible at the moment, giving the lack of communications between ex-changers, but I will keep dreaming it would be accomplished one day though.

3257  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator [v0.17] on: January 10, 2012, 04:01:05 AM
I wasn't able to get GPU working in linux, but it turns out my cluster of CPUs was enough to create the address I really wanted :

    1QBDLYTDFHHZAABYSKGKPWKLSXZWCCJQBX

Am I really the first person that has done this?  FreeMoney didn't even recognize it as a BTC address.  At the very least, people should recognize that one when they see it Smiley

A donation is on its way!

i'm puzzled with that address of yours, how did you managed to generate the uppercase checksum... ?
3258  Other / Off-topic / Re: Game: First person to crack this gets 5 BTC on: January 09, 2012, 03:08:00 AM

Hints:
It is an encoded form of a private key.
It is not encrypted.
The private key contains 5 BTC.

Address is:
1FezVeQ2unSiCbKwP9UArahNoMwaprCAyJ

maybe you should fund the address to give an incentive
3260  Local / Espaņol (Spanish) / Re: Looking for a spanish teacher over skype on: January 08, 2012, 12:33:03 PM
Please excuse us for talking only in Spanish in your thread, i think some people assumed that you understand reading it and it stayed that way. Btw, hope you find a good teacher  Smiley
