3321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gone are the days where projects team ask for opinions from investors on: February 14, 2020, 11:28:25 AM
One thing I try to avoid when expressing my opinion is to assume that I'm certain of what I'm talking about.

Quote
~ once upon a time few projects does this, they love hearing out from their investors but gone are those days..
Quote
~ Now new project teams always think they are the wisest
How sure are you? Do you have any statistical data to back up those claims?
Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are trying to point out but don't assume that it applies to all just because 10 out of 1000 does it.

Quote
~ the wise ones are the ones that ask the audience for opinions.
This sounds good on paper until you hear the audience starts asking for "when new exchange?" or "when Binance?".

From my experience hanging out with different project on their telegram, many teams do listen to their community but we have to accept the fact that not everything we say will be viable for the team. When it comes to listing on exchanges, most of them would choose small/medium with cheaper listing fees and "decent volume". I'm not sure if they even consider the exchange reputation.
3322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token been sent to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 on: February 14, 2020, 09:56:43 AM
~
That doesn't make sense if the fees should be applied on a daily basis. It's unfair to the token holders.
Well, it's pretty clear in the WP that they will charge 1% annually which the OP failed to read. It seems he also refuses to believe the references I've already posted judging by how he is still waiting for confirmation and why he isn't locking the thread yet.

Whether it's unfair or not is another matter, I have a good grasp of why they do that but I won't speak for the team. you can question them directly or you can also read the WP.
3323  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Kapa-Community Ministry Investment scam on: February 14, 2020, 09:39:16 AM
Bumping for news update:

Court orders arrest of Kapa founder, officers for investment fraud

3324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Determining whether your token is Valuable Or Not on: February 13, 2020, 05:57:34 PM
Do you know that there are many tokens listed on the exchange with valuable amount  but NOT listed on CMC.
Yes there are. They might look valuable at first glance but when you look closer into the order books, you can notice that the volume is too thin. You could easily crash the price when you sell. There is a reason why they have not been listed on price monitoring sites like CMC. Only a handful buys them.

~
Fun fact: I know some guys who wanted to add their coin on some exchanges. Went to some bigger ones and requested to be listed there. They said "NO! we cannot list you if you are not on CMC." , they said ok, let's get listed on CMC and pay their outrageous fees "NO! we cannot list you on CMC because you are not listed on any exchange" . IMO CMC is an overrated service that still has a huge pull in the crypto space unfortunately.
I don't know if CMC made some changes on how they list coins/tokens but I never heard of them asking for fees. The last requirement I remember was having a consistent volume of around $50K on exchanges that they recognized.

3326  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Round 2 Paid Raffle] Satori Coin Bitcoin Poker Chip - Lower Fee on: February 13, 2020, 05:17:33 PM

3327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA All Star MVP betting odds. on: February 13, 2020, 05:03:37 PM
Latest news here, some changes have been made in the all star roster. Damian Lillard is now out due to injury and will be replaced by Devin Booker. He will also be playing in the 3-point contest as replacement. Not a bad replacement I think but he will most likely be spending most of the game in the bench. I doubt he's going to be considered for that MVP too.
3328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token been sent to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 on: February 13, 2020, 08:03:44 AM
If you read what @CryptopreneurBrainboss said, the next logical thing to do is to either asked the team directly or simply visit the whitepaper of gold token. They actually charge Gold holders of what they call as "service cost"

To make the project sustainable, a service cost has been implemented. As such,
GOLD token users can expect to have a small percentage of their holdings
charged on a daily basis
. It is important to consider that the service cost is
designed to be either comparable, or lower than the fees associated with storing
gold at a depository or bank. Users can expect to pay a 0.99% annual storage fee.

Here's another one from the website:
Unlike cryptocurrencies pegged to US Dollar, Euro or other FIAT-currencies, your GOLD tokens cannot be expropriated or frozen while physical gold is held in a secure vault in a jurisdiction with strong property rights.. No hidden fees, free transactions between users and the lowest annual storage fee of 0.99% (0.0027% per day). Yearly storage fee is automatically charged from token holder's wallet by GOLD secure and audited smart-contract, based on Ethereum network, on daily basis.

If you don't want to have these charges, don't be a holder. Sell it.

Note that this does not apply on other tokens so don't expect others who doesn't have a Gold token to have a similar experience. Unless they hold tokens that were coded similar to Gold.

I think it's time to lock the thread.
3329  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Altsbit - an Italian CEX was hacked on: February 13, 2020, 05:01:04 AM
~ Looking at the numbers on their website it really is a small exchange, which means ppl are most likely gonna spend (time and money) more than what they lost if they file a lawsuit so no one will go through it ig. This could also be just their subtle way of exit scamming.
I thought it was also an exit scam when I first read it but some group already claimed they are responsible for the hack. They may be a small exchange but it was really poor on the part of altsbit to store most of the users assets on their hot wallet. If none will sue them, they or some other group may set up another small exchange again with low security.

3330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA All Star MVP betting odds. on: February 13, 2020, 04:12:12 AM
It looks like I'm the only one who will be voting for Kahwi. He seems like the guy who doesn't really care about trying to outshine everyone else. He just comes in and do the job on both ends of the floor while everyone else will be looking to show off (because all-star). I think he will be crucial towards the end of the game with that kind mentality.
3331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cobinhood and MetaMask on: February 12, 2020, 08:37:29 AM
Please be aware that withdrawal is done by schedule. For erc20 tokens, you will have to wait until February 28, 2020 before you can withdraw. That's based on their latest announcement.

As each crypto’s refund schedule is different, you may see the expected schedule as below:

From Feb 10, 2020
BTC, BCH, BCHSV,  ETH

From Feb 18, 2020
ERC20 tokens
https://cobinhood.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039273792-ERC20-Tokens-List

From Feb 25, 2020
ACT, LTC, ZEC, CMT, DASH, EOS, LSK, LSTR, VTHO, and NANO

From March 3, 2020
DXN, DOGE, TRX, VET, XEM, XLM, XMR, XRP, XTZ, NEO, MIOTA, QTUM and GAS

*Please note that the refund schedule may be subject to change.

If you are no longer familiar with metamask or do not want the hassle of adding tokens manually, you can also try the Equal web wallet. It works like MM but it has more features like automatically adding tokens. It supports both erc20 and bep2 tokens at the moment.
3332  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help: A list of LocalBitcoin alternatives (P2P marketplaces) on: February 12, 2020, 08:13:46 AM
These sites are still active but I have not tried any of them.

3333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 12, 2020, 07:40:26 AM
The questions and doubts about the Adesanya-Romero fight for UFC 248 is understandable. I can only think of the Whittaker-Romero 2 as one reason why Israel decided to call him out. That fight was really great to watch and Romero got so close to becoming the champion.
3334  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cobinhood shutting down on: February 12, 2020, 06:06:05 AM
FYI, the auditing period is over (Feb. 9, 2020) and anyone who still has funds stuck in there should be able to withdraw by now. I'm surprised they haven't made another announcement but I guess it's no longer necessary.

~
not exactly. you can request withdrawals for BTC, BCH, BCHSV, and ETH.

Crypto Refund Schedule: Why can I not retrieve cryptos right away?
~
Thank you for this. I only checked their twitter account, my bad.
3335  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [Updated Feb-06] Pilipinas - sMerit Distribution Summary on: February 12, 2020, 05:49:01 AM

Update 2: Here's the latest announcement.

As each crypto’s refund schedule is different, you may see the expected schedule as below:

From Feb 10, 2020
BTC, BCH, BCHSV,  ETH

From Feb 18, 2020
ERC20 tokens

3337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth2 Misconceptions: Top 5 on: February 12, 2020, 04:44:32 AM
~
Eth2 launch has been delayed though, they say it will this January 2020, but so far we haven't seen Eth2 yet because obviously, it was postponed again.
For discussion on Eth 2.0 delays, there was already a thread created for that - Ethereum 2.0 delays thread

https://medium.com/@trenton.v/eth2-misconceptions-top-5-6edafaeccac1

Do you agree on the lists?
Quote
   “Eth2 will never launch”
“The transition to Eth2 makes Eth1 immediately deprecated”
“There will be two ETH tokens from the fork”
“All Eth2 decisions are made by Vitalik”
“Eth2 is a catch-all fix for the challenges of Eth1”
I don't know what's to disagree on the list. The only argument I think is whether eth2.0 will fully launch this 2020. If it won't, then at least phase 0 will still launch which will eventually lead to that.

Reading different post in this forum, I learned that some people even think ethereum needs permission from the SEC before it can launch (which isn't true of course). Maybe that's something to be added on the list.
3338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are crypto advisers worth to be looking for? on: February 11, 2020, 08:26:08 AM
~ Does it make sense to look for them and how much scam there might be?
Well, you can learn on your own as others have suggested but that could take you a longer time compared to learning from someone who has been doing it successfully for a longer time. It's harder to find the legit ones though but one person comes to my mind when you want to learn technical analysis. I'm no longer sure if he still accepts students though.

Before considering getting a mentor, consider the thought that if they are really that good, why would they still need to earn from other sources? they should be earning well from trading and wouldn't need subscription/enrollment fees..
3339  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph and other crypto app/wallet scams on: February 11, 2020, 07:25:54 AM
