Why create new topics if you already have a common topic?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268573.msg54987194#msg54987194
The topic contains enough data to conduct good analytics.
I wanted to deliver a message in a way that, I think, can be seen by more people. What you copied and posted in your thread with caption as "English translation" isn't actually a translation. Other than the second paragraph in the OP, everything else is my personal message.

The issue of Defi exit scam doesn't seem to freak Defi investors. There's a philosophy of higher risk, higher reward. The investors are aware of the reward and are willing to take the risk Inorder to get the best reward. I agree that definitely exit scam is as popular as it was during the ICO's where we always heard of ICO's scam, but more people were still investing in ICO's.
There's truth to this. There are really aggressive investors with high risk appetite and they go after money making opportunities but many of these guys are more responsible than we think they are. What they invest are money that they can afford to lose. Unlike other newbie investors, they have assessed the risk but still willing to take it because they are okay if the investment goes down.
2562  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying BTC with an Amex Credit Card on: September 13, 2020, 04:58:15 PM
According to this article, you can do buy btc with Amex on these platforms - Coinbase, CEX.io, and Bitpanda.

I think exchanges like Kraken and Bitstamp also allows you to buy with credit card.
2563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spamming 547 satoshis. But why? on: September 13, 2020, 04:35:24 PM
Some cases here are complicatiing due to lack of understanding I tried to comprehend the text but I could not find it easily to respond.
I don't really understand the concept, spamming satoshi. Does someone spam satoshi? Please I need explanation.
I thought @Bitcoin_Arena's illustration is already clear and @Kemarit's follow up made it even clearer.

To put it simply, the person responsible for sending 547 satoshis to different addresses is trying to advertise his/her own forum called memo.sv
Check each address the sender used and you will notice the words in it (this part is highlighted here).
2564  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The First Bitcoin Robo Advisor - Now Available Online for Free on: September 13, 2020, 04:01:15 PM
My answers were:
1. Sustainable income
2. Long-term
3. Moderate
4. Under $1M
5. Good

and the robo advisor also recommends not investing in bitcoin at the moment.

I changed the choice for number 1 and a 6% allocation of my supposed wealth to bitcoin was recommended  Grin

I don't personally agree with the recommendations from the answer that I've given but to each his own. Oh yeah, good thing you've put a legal disclaimer there.

Can anyone explain why the $1,200 check wasn't included and what are the chances that it will be included in the next proposal?

Will they be printing more fiat to distribute another round of $1,200s? If so, it's like saying the market needs more fiat to pump bitcoin.
2566  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT ★★★ The legend is back! ★★★ Bigger and better than ever! ★★★ on: September 11, 2020, 04:50:40 PM
I'm planning to deposit and try to catch up with the 1 btc race leaderboard but I have a question about the 150% bonus terms and conditions.

Quote
150% FIRST DEPOSIT BONUS has a wagering requirement towards withdrawal. It is 45 times the bonus balance. So you have to play with your bonus balance 45 times before you can withdraw the bonus balance and winnings achieved while playing.
The wagering requirement must be distributed into at least 5 days. Each day, you have to wager at least 10% of the wagering requirement.

So If I wager on Plinko for example and use x20 multiplier in one bet (not on blue level), does that count as 20 wagers already regardless of the amount I used? If I do that daily for five days, then I've met the wagering requirement right? Sorry if that seems noobish.
Actually it's not I'll give you an example (please correct me if i'm wrong) but here it goes what they mean by you need to wager 45 times is that for example you deposit 0.001 BTC and and you will get a 0.0015 BTC additional multiply that 0.0015 BTC to 45 which is 0.0675 BTC.

An example of wagering is like this you bet 0.0005 BTC on dice game and you win then that's 0.0005 BTC on wager and you be again and lose 0.0005 BTC then again it will add to your wager which now 0.001 BTC wagering means playing your free deposit money 45x of its value not the times you place your bet.

Hi Bttzed03 and qory, thanks for yours feedback.
This is how to counts wagering requirement for 150% Deposit Bonus:
Example, player deposit 0.01 BTC then the Bonus is 0.015 BTC = your Bonus Balance 0.025 BTC. To clear the bonus player must wager Bonus Balance x45, in this case 0.025 x45 = 1.125 BTC. Bonuses Are Playable
This Deposit Bonuses are very useful to collect points for 1 BTC Jackpot Race, also don't forget there are some achievement prizes like 1 BTC wagered achievement shall get 0.01 BTC.

Bttzed03, what qory said about "example of wagering" is right,
"An example of wagering is like this you bet 0.0005 BTC on dice game and you win then that's 0.0005 BTC on wager and you be again and lose 0.0005 BTC then again it will add to your wager which now 0.001 BTC wagering means playing your Bonus Balance free deposit money 45x of its value not the times you place your bet."
Appreciate all the explanation. That requirement is quite tough to reach  Tongue No wonder I see some people in the chatbox cancelling their deposit bonus. It's a good way to prevent abusers though.

This is the advantage of the scammers using bounty hunters to promote the project and create a hype out of it, I think bounty hunters should really do start to take care of which projects they are promoting, yes they needed money and you can have it on by participating to bounty and airdrops but I don't think it's not a reason not to search about the project if they are legitimate or not however we can't blame them since some of the scam projects really look like a legitimate projects.
It shouldn't take a genius to figure out that a project is doing something shady. Anonymous developer and heavily shilled project on social media are just two of the many reasons you should suspect and stay away.

This had an anon dev too? Could someone answer why people are suddenly trusting anon devs again? Bitcoin was the only project that actually worked out fine with a pseudonym dev, but that's because Satoshi didn't dump his coins, not yet anyway.
Yes, the developer is anonymous. Many of these scammers uses the "Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous" excuse to defend their lack of transparency. While it's true that he's anonymous, other developers who contributed in the early days aren't. I also doubt he had a huge business interest in mind unlike these token developers taking advantage of hypes and trends.

I think investors should be more wiser when it comes to investing in this new defi project, my advice is don't stay too long to the point of get dumped on, always sell at the first chance and get out, only those who are greedy will hang on to the point where team exit scam.
More than 90% of the time, you'll lose with that strategy. Have you seen how fast new tokens are being dumped on exchanges? It just take a minute or less. You could be sleeping or just taking a pee while they're dumping.

~
You are certainly right. But you cannot know 100% which of the projects will be a scam until this project is implemented, raises money and deceives investors. Until this path is passed, it is difficult to understand whether it is a scam or not. The fact that people believe everything and this is the problem, but investors can also be understood, everyone wants to make money right now. These are the risks that you should always be aware of and not be greedy about. As for scammers, they have been and always will be.
You don't need to be 100% certain before you avoid such projects. You just have to know the warning signs I mentioned above to realize that you have to take a step back.
2569  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gate.io raided by local police? on: September 11, 2020, 02:52:59 PM
It's been a day since this rumor broke out but still no major news publication confirming or denying it. I checked gate.io's twitter and website but there's no official statement also. They're busy with their next DeFi listing  Grin

Just an update from the same twitter account I posted in OP:
After $kimchi price went down massively, many users of gate lost quite a lot of money, so they’ve reported Gate, but heard from multiple resources it’s just the customer support office for gate. It should probably won’t have very big impact on Gate.

everything says "local police"......i assume this is china?
It is. I removed "China" in the title before hitting the post button. Sorry about that.
2570  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Modifying a signature code, can or should this be considered as plagiarism?. on: September 11, 2020, 02:19:57 PM
Signature kind of represents a brand and I would be very careful if I'm going to use that to promote my own company. Even if I got the permission of the original designer and the first company, it would still leave a bad taste to other people. "No originality" is definitely one of the issue that will thrown there.

If this is related to your post in archival and the campaign you are about to manage, you should probably asked them to hire a different designer.

2571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Another DeFi exit scam on: September 10, 2020, 04:45:26 PM
Many warnings have been posted about the possibility of DeFi exits scams across different platforms including bitcointalk but it seems people are simply too greedy to take advantage of the hype and profit. As it turns out, many of them got burned from projects like Yfdexf.Finance.

As reported, Yfdexf’s team managed to run away with $20 million. Their official website, medium, telegram and twitter accounts have all been taken down to not leave any traces.

What happened here is also another reminder to all aridrop and giveaway hunters out there to be careful in what you are sharing in exchange for some rewards. You might not realized it yet, but you are also helping these scammers.  Yfdexf’s team organized many giveaways to create hype and many of these hunters just joined without even thinking about what they are promoting.
2572  Economy / Exchanges / Gate.io raided by local police? on: September 10, 2020, 04:25:07 PM
This is a developing story.

Just saw video on twitter with caption:
Quote
Seems gate got raided by local police,This video has been spreading in WeChat group.  Rumors says they got raided because they listed kimchi.

For those of you who don't know, Kimchi is one of those DeFi yield farming tokens. If I am not mistaken, that token was launched last week and it was found out that the token developer can mint unlimited supply.

Story is not 100% confirmed yet but it would be hilarious to know that an exchange would be raided because of listing a scam token  Grin

Follow up stories:
The guy on the 1st pic wearing a hoodie with gate logo on, so it seems pretty likely the raided really happened.  But not 100% confirmed .

More videos are , it’s really happened, a video of local  police check talking to a employee, that employee is telling his a WeChat friend police is on site , and police is asking him wether not if that WeChat friend is the boss of http://gate.io

2574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you lost btc at some point of the time ? What is your story on: September 09, 2020, 05:40:49 PM
I haven't been a victim of any hack or phishing so far but I lost some bitcoins by investing in altcoins back in the day. What happened was, the coin I bought in the exchange got delisted while my sell order was still there  Grin I wasn't able to check in time to withdraw.

I'm also not sure with my Hitbtc and Livecoin accounts. I don't know if they deleted it for whatever reason. I remember I bought coins in there using btc but I can no longer access my exchange accounts. I didn't bother contacting support since the coin's value is really low now. Not worth the effort.

I thought everyone would create a post with links in this thread and then just edit it every week. However, google form is also good.

Guys, You can give your suggestions about way of reporting tweets and retweets. We'll see what will get more votes .. Smiley Or just join discussion in https://t.me/TheAndysCampaigns Smiley
I didn't make the cut but submitting thru a google form is the better option for me. I believe doing so helps reduce unnecessary post here in the forum. You can check Luckybit's Twitter campaign as example.

~ Back in 2009 when Bitcoins was invented Mr. Satoshi Solved one Problem that was indeed difficult. In digital decentralized currencies it was easy for them to be dublicated since they are nothing but a digital File; Due to Dublicating it might have caused : Inflation due to the counterfeit money.
I know this is not the main point of your post but I can't follow you here. Are you talking about bitcoin with finite supply as against fiat's infinite supply? Or about the prevention of double spending without the need of a third party?

And what is "dublicating" or "dublicated".

~
With that logic, anyone who contributed to development of cryptography and computers also helped developing Bitcoin, because Bitcoin wouldn't be possible without them. And then you can continuing t on and on.
It could go as far as the people who invented Math.
2577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Works in Really Simple Terms on: September 09, 2020, 04:55:49 PM
~
Thank you for your feedback. I really like your comments and agree with all of them. In reality, I wanted to explain Bitcoin in very simple terms and that's why tried to avoid technical and other nuances.
We can't really avoid the technicalities even if we try to dumb it down for the masses. I've tried that in the past but I feel like it made them more confused Grin

Regarding the anonymity of Bitcoin network transactions, the most appropriate explanation would be "Bitcoin is RELATIVELY anonymous" and I actually used this wording initially. Regarding the settlement of Bitcoin transactions, I would say it depends. It's still not VISA speed but on other side, fees are much lower if we are talking about multimillion transfers. Would be interesting to see what are Bitcoin transaction fees beyond 2140 though. Finally, Bitcoin word is capitalized when we are talking about the concept and network. You are right. Thank you again for your contribution!
I'd prefer sticking to Pseudonymous but whatever works for you. As long as they understand they're not completely anonymous.

I only touched the speed and not the processing/transaction fees in my first comment because I agree that it's still way cheaper compared bank transfers especially of that magnitude. Who knows what's going to be by 2140. I personally don't want to dabble on that as we don't even know if people will still use bitcoin at that time. It could be obsolete by then.

On responding to each post, you might want to consolidate them rather than doing it one by one. What you did was actually against the (un)official forum rules. You can edit your last post and include the first two thru copy-paste then delete them after.
2578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees (in sats/kb). Sunday, Saturday are best to move BTC on: September 09, 2020, 04:01:36 PM

I downloaded already my bitcoin wallet through phone(mobile wallet).
What mobile wallet did you download? Keep in mind that not all of them will allow you customize the fees. The informations provided in the OP will be more useful if you are not going to use custodial wallets. They calculate the fees for you and categorize them into "slow, normal, fast" but they are usually set at a higher rate.

Non-custodial mobile wallets like Electrum and Mycelium allows you to set a fee.
2579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Works in Really Simple Terms on: September 09, 2020, 02:40:25 PM
Sure, it makes sense. You are right that our website is not completely educational as we provide instant Bitcoin purchase service AND free Bitcoin robo advisor service. However, there are no ADS on our website at all. I will post a summary of "How Bitcoin Works" content in this thread. Here we go.
Thanks for posting the summary. @seoincorporation left a feedback about your site already and I'll leave it to the judgement of the readers here if they want to visit.

Anonymous. Bitcoin addresses do not contain any personal information.
Fast Settlement. Bitcoin transactions are fast, cost-effective, and cross-border.
Bitcoin is Pseudonymous. While it's true that no name is associated to bitcoin addresses every time you send and receive btc, it doesn't mean that it's completely anonymous. Once you have been identified as the owner of the wallet, all the previous transactions in it will be linked to you since all of them are on the blockchain.

Ever since bitcoin became popular, one of the common issue thrown at her was the slow confirmation time. It's 1 block containing 1MB (or 4 for segwit tx) worth of transactions every 10 minutes. That is slow in comparison to other cryptocurrency transactions and to VISA or other cards that confirms in a couple of minutes/seconds. If you're going to compare it with clearing of checks that usually takes 2-3 days, then yeah bitcoin transactions can be faster depending on the network congestion and the fees tied to the transaction. It usually takes days if you send using a low fee while the network is heavily congested.

What Is Bitcoin Blockchain?

First of all, Bitcoin is a digital asset and therefore does not have physical monetary value like a gold or fiat currency.
You might be mixing Bitcoin (the blockchain) and bitcoin (the digital asset - cryptocurrency) here.
