What's the significance of being P2PK?
The main significance of the fact that they are P2PK rather than P2PKH is that the public key is known for all 2 million or so of these coins. This means they are potentially vulnerable to being stolen in the future by quantum computers running Shor's algorithm.
Thanks for the added knowledge. I didn't know about such vulnerability.

The script type used for these coins is pretty much irrelevant to the discussion regarding premines, as far as I can tell.
Yeah, this is what I'm getting at and I'm curious what @BASE16 is trying to say.

I wish I had been around to help him with his "premining" Smiley

How Israel Adesanya KO'd Paulo Costa
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_0n5NwkNqQ
I thought I clicked the wrong link upon seeing the anime Grin The analysis mixed with animation was cool though. Adensanya kept saying he's 10 steps ahead of Costa and that was apparent in this fight.

I'm surprized by Costa performance. Dont know why he taunted him during the fight and did not show BJJ skills. Costa underestimated him, that 100% reason he had lost.
I was not surprised by the results but expected Costa to have a good chin and Adesanya proved that he is just hype. it is not about underestimation but he wanted Adesanya to stand in front of him and throw hands and that was his game plan and if he is not getting him as a punching bag he had no idea what to do and Adesanya did a good job chopping his legs and then finishing him up in the second round.
Yup. Costa was clueless what Adesanya is going to do next or where he's going.

Costa thought he's in Adesanya's head after all the online bullying, trash talking, and handing of white belt. He probably forgot that Israel is a seasoned/veteran fighter who knows mind games all too well.

I just created an account. The heck is wrong with moving the cells? I can only drag them but I couldn't drop to where I wanted them to. In the end, I have to refresh and just choose "randomize" then "go" or just straight "go".

Chat rains are awesome by the way and I like that you have Doge option.

2484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin countries: top hotspots that use BTC on: September 29, 2020, 12:08:12 PM
~ Let us know, how popular is Bitcoin in your country?
I'm not going to pull out some stats on how many of my countrymen actually uses bitcoin but I can say the popularity is growing based on the number of regulated exchanges that's operating here. It started with one and then became seven and there are more waiting in line based on this list.

Binance P2P also supports our local currency. That probably means they recognize the growing popularity of btc and crypto in our country.
2485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Premined bitcoin? on: September 29, 2020, 11:54:03 AM
~ in any case i don't think some idiot tweeting something wrong is worth starting a topic though.
I get what you mean. I created this for educational purposes because, even after a decade in the space, some people are still insisting they're premined. If we'll just ignore this, new traders/investors, who read tweets like that and who're lazy to fact check as you said, would easily buy crap premined coins and minted tokens because they would think it's the same as bitcoin.

Yes...
And those were all P2PK  Smiley
Here they are https://filebin.net/606ihqgwzonhrw8d/P2PK
Yes? As in they're premined?
What's the significance of being P2PK?
2486  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xBit.com - Betting, Bitcoin Sportsbook, Casino web-site| ONLINE SPORTS BETTING! on: September 29, 2020, 11:38:21 AM
~
The 1xbit/1xbet are always massively advertising their platforms on every possible media and forum so lots of newbies who don't care to research fall in the trap.
True that. A few days ago, I saw it being advertised on Mycelium wallet under "sports betting". I've also seen them run a signature campaign twice in another forum and I don't think that will be the end of it.

As it appears, it is only on Bitcointalk that they're heavily criticized.

@CasinoWow It's nice of you to come back. I thought you've already abandoned this thread to be honest. While adding more cryptos and improving the categories, you might as well consider what I said about definitions of cryptocurrencies here Other gamblers who frequent your website and encounter bitcoin casinos for the first time might be misled by the inaccurate information.

2491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Yearly Lows on: September 27, 2020, 04:51:28 PM
I hope we don't experience another major pandemic which would force another round of lockdown. It is the only reason that could cause a major bitcoin dump (below $3,850).

Very consistent, bitcoin yearly low's has increase each year.
Except in 2015. It dropped from $260 the year before to $150.

2492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Premined bitcoin? on: September 27, 2020, 04:39:17 PM
Some anonymous "crypto farmer" on twitter insists that Satoshi Nakamoto premined 1 million bitcoin which sparked a little debate.

(source)

Another user supported the argument claiming that although Satoshi had zero btc mined when it was launched, information about Bitcoin was only known to a few people before and mining was exclusive to them. Thus, premined. (source)

Of course counter arguments that Satoshi's btc weren't premined at all were raised:
1. Bitcoin protocol was announced in 2008 and launched in 2009. Anyone interested would have been able to mine since day 1 and compete with Satoshi. (source)
2. No btc was created before bitcoin was launched. No ICO or other forms of fund raising in exchange of btc.

I know many members here who are familiar with Bitcoin would probably laugh when they read this. For the sake of newbies who do not know these details, can you add why Satoshi's coins weren't premined?

I don't know why some of these altcoin shills and yield farmers are still trolling bitcoin to defend/protect their investments when they can't even define what premine is. They are only embarrassing themselves imo. It's not Satoshi's fault that bitcoin wasn't popular and only a few mined during the early days.
2493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW SERVICE - SaveBSV on: September 27, 2020, 12:03:41 PM
Hey, we're not affiliated with neither Wright nor Ayre in any way. SaveBSV is a platform where you save your Bitcoin SV for the future. You send your coins which will then be returned to you on the day you specify. The entire process is very easy and the service is trustless (we will release some of the code to support this claim).

Why would anyone want to limit access to their own funds you may wonder? Plenty of reason, we're sure you can think of a few yourself.
Ah I see. It's saving bsv into another platform just like saving fiat in banks.

Instead of saying "plenty of reason", why not enumerate them? How will they benefit if they save their bsv in your platform?

Test the platform if you like, you might find it a useful service. And if not, that's fine too, but there's no reason to badmouth something while you know next to nothing about it.
Having your post misunderstood. is what you get when you are lazy to add basic details and just want a click to your website. You could have at least included what you just said in the OP.  If you want us to take a good look at your service, present it in a better way.
2494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 27, 2020, 09:53:10 AM
Main event and main co-main event lived up to expectation somehow.

There's always the possibility that Blachowicz vs. Reyes would end early given their power. Not taking away anything from Blachowicz but maybe the change in coach had something to do with Reyes' loss.

I thought Adesanya would "dance" in the first two rounds to frustrate Costa, who is used to fighting human "punching bags", then pick up the pace starting round 3. In the end, he made light work of Costa. All that talk from Costa but all I remember him doing during the fight was taunting.
2495  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reason bitcoin price is not stable. on: September 26, 2020, 05:25:26 PM
~
Read @adzino's examples on news and events. I would like to add events like bitcoin halving also. Based on the past halvings, price tends to surge after halving. The latest just happened this year and if the trend continues, we could see btc surpass $20K next year. That's only a speculation and I don't want you to invest just based on that.
So actually someone don't have to invest in bitcoin when the price is high, please try to clarify me in this aspects of investment so that someone will be able to know when to invest especially beginners@Bttzed03
I don't think you understood what I meant with this "I don't want you to invest just based on that.". I didn't say do not invest because price will go up to $20K or higher, I was saying do not invest just because of the previous halving trend.

I suggest you start reading trading related books than asking all the questions here. It's faster and easier for you to learn that way.
2496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: September 26, 2020, 05:08:53 PM
~ And I can't believed that Manny Pacquiao is willing to take this fight though, this is exhibition match.
He is known for his generosity in the Philippines. Conor is a cash cow and it makes sense for Manny to fight him instead of other boxers because it can generate more money. The more PPVs, the more he can donate for COVI-19 relief.

https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1309876739011682305

Manny is a clear winner here. The only question is how long will he entertain the fans and let Conor stay on his feet.
2497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need Help! on: September 26, 2020, 04:51:40 PM
Now for the next and final question, I was given a list of codes, access codes, withdrawal codes, change codes, all kinds of stuff. Even terms and conditions. I am not going to give them my hard earned money, but my mind needs closure. Is there any way to check this out safely?
They are just trying to lure you back in and earn your trust again. I thought the explanations here are already enough and made you decide not to give them your money but what is this "mind needs closure"? It's already been established that they're trying to scam you. They are taking advantage of your ignorance on technical terms and it's a waste of time verifying whatever codes they gave you.
2498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW SERVICE - SaveBSV on: September 26, 2020, 04:40:15 PM

Hello everyone! We would like to offer a new service for BitcoinSV. Please check out our website:

https://savebsv.com

And make sure to read our FAQ https://savebsv.com/faq.html and documentation https://savebsv.com/docs.html

Let us know if you have any questions and/or suggestions.
Quoting for reference.

Can you please summarize what this is all about? Is it a donation campaign to uplift Wright's or Ayre's ass? Sorry but I don't feel comfortable opening random links from lazy posters here.

Some years back, these are the same people saying bsv will 'kill" bitcoin but I guess that's never going to happen when you see posts like "savebsv".
2499  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reason bitcoin price is not stable. on: September 26, 2020, 04:21:41 PM

I think these is difficult to predict because every persons here is making a personal suggestion which some are correlated.
Everyone would be uber rich by now if it was that easy to pinpoint the next price target.

~
What are the major factor we have to consider in candles stick's movement,if I may ask, because  I really want to know the possible ways to handle the issues of prediction in bitcoin.

2500  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto – Kucoin Hacked! $150m Stolen. on: September 26, 2020, 03:41:38 PM
Not too long ago, there was a member here saying that it's better to store funds on exchanges rather than cold wallets because they pay interest Grin Well, whatever interest they are offering, it's not an answer to the security risk these exchanges like Kucoin faces everyday. Think also of the opportunity costs from the days operation is suspended.

Ridiculous that this is still happening in 2021,
And it will happen again on Kucoin or other exchanges in 2022 or beyond that. Banks which existed way before crypto exchanges continues to be attacked by hackers.
