2721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever wondered on how many days BTC has been above a certain value? on: July 31, 2020, 01:46:28 PM
Lazy ass non-code guy here. Could you put that data in a graphic that explains it for starters and share it?  Such data should be understood and acknowledged by everyone!

~
Can you also have a data if it was a growing occasions or just simply a stable one? I mean is it gradually growing or it happens in a common month annually? Such data could be use to predict when year that Bitcoin would reach again the 20K highest price, because it's too obvious that if 10K instances that days it reached would be hitting often, it would soon as well reach the 11k, 12k, so on and so forth. But then the question is that what chance it could often reach it and how long would it take to occur multiple occasions of a limit.

I hope you're getting me lol Cheesy

Is bitcoin historical chart not enough for this? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

The data provided by @DdmrDdmr is a simply a summary. If you check the spreadsheet he made, bitcoin first hit $10K on Nov. 28, 2017. You can start from there.

If we're going to be more accurate, the first time btc hit $10K was earlier than that. I remember it happened one time on Livecoin.net and it was done by mistake. I can't find an article about that unfortunately.

In a letter sent to Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, which was received at the DOJ on July 28, 2020 based on the copy of the letter shared by Dominguez to journalists, the DOF chief said there have been several Facebook posts that illegally use his name “to promote a fake cryptocurrency auto-trading platform called ‘bitcoin revolution’.”

“Similar investment ploys using the names of some Finance and Treasury officials in other countries as well as Filipino celebrities is likewise used in an attempt to dupe the public into falling for the scam,” he said.

Dominguez said they have reported these posts to Facebook “to prevent the spread of these hoaxes.”

He, however, said the “perpetrator of such acts may still continue to find other avenues to pursue their malicious activities.”

“Thus, we request the assistance of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Cybercrime Office to track, identify and prosecute those responsible for these posts,” he said.

2723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fee calculation on: July 30, 2020, 03:21:26 PM
I'm guessing you are using a wallet that allows you to customize the fee.

There are many websites which gives you an estimate of the "optimal" fees for beginners but note that they won't have the same recommendations.

Here are some of them:
https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/fee-calculator/
https://bitcoinfees.net/

You can also check https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/ to see the size of the mempool (third table) and estimate on your own how much fee is needed for your transaction to be added on the next block.

Using the above image and at 4MB per block, 40+ sats should do.
Data changes fast and by the time you read this, the mempool size would be different.

2724  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines Central Bank Considers Issuing Its Own Digital Currency. on: July 30, 2020, 12:22:07 PM

Well, PHX is just bank-backed by UnionBank itself and other institutions pero itong gagawin talaga ng BSP is more on the national scale I guess.
Definitely on a national scale since it's BSP. The point is, a bank they oversee is implementing it already. Kumbaga, hindi na nila kailangan magsimula sa wala. They can invite representatives from UB sa mga discussions.

Makes me really skeptical knowing what happened to Venezuela's Petro-Dollar[1]. If they went ahead with this, hopefully they're going to do it with good intentions in mind.
Kung hindi ako nagkakamali, Petro was issued out of desperation para makawala sa mga international sanctions kaya na-devalue ng sobra yung fiat currency nila. Hindi nila talaga napaghandaan yan.

Mukhang wala naman ganung factor dito sa atin and BSP is also taking their time.
2725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 30, 2020, 11:11:28 AM
There are some first early odds for potential fight Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Georges StPierre, and Khabib is shown as heavy favorite.
It is not even sure fight will even happen as GSP retired some time ago, but it is interesting to see that people showed a lot of interest for this fight.
Khabib already said he's open to fighting GSP (possibly on April) after his match with Justin - Khabib SNUBS Conor McGregor as he claims he will fight Georges St-Pierre in April after Gaethje at UFC 252

GSP has expressed many times before that he's willing to come out of retirement to face Khabib and said the fight couldn't prosper because Dana doesn't want him beating Khabib.

In his recent interview, GSP once again mentioned his potential return to face the winner of Khabib vs. Justin. Dana, on the other hand, expressed his openness on that potential fight.

If bearexin and harizen understand and accept our position, and are ready to follow our rules, we are open to accepting them in the campaign.
You made an announcement that there are 4 new slots for Senior/Hero/Legendary rank participants. If bearexin and harizen are willing to accept your conditions, will the open slots remain 4 or will it become 2?

2727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi here Defi There post your favorite Defi reviews on: July 29, 2020, 02:26:10 PM
Here's another site https://defi.dapp.review/

If it's okay, can you add this warning by Vitalik about DeFi in the OP as a disclaimer? There's plenty of hype right now and it's good if others can read what Vitalik has to say as well.

~ But it seems that the article on 101blockchains fouses on Ethereum-based DeFi projects and misses EOS-based for example.
No surprise there. The site covers "top DeFi" projects and we know Ethereum is still the most popular chain after Bitcoin.

2728  Other / Archival / Re: TRON BLACKJACK: BEST TRX BETTING SITES on: July 29, 2020, 01:33:30 PM
If I were you, I will not put 1xbit on the list as one of the best. Simply because this site has so bad reputation here in this forum as well as out of this forum.
Or add a visible disclaimer that there are many scam accusation against it since the list was copied from another source.

2729  Economy / Gambling / Re: jacksbet.io pre - launched having lots of especial promotion. on: July 29, 2020, 01:06:11 PM

Disclaimer: I didn't promoting this new project i just wanted to share it here maybe someone might be interested
Should have asked their official representative to open a thread here or you could have asked them to hire you instead.

~
Absolutely! That's why i share this type of gambling site so that everyone can judge on this platform especially to those people here who are veterans in gambling.
You can also point them to your thread and maybe they'll respond to the feedback. It shouldn't be a problem if they're legit.

2731  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Altcoin Gambling Child Board on: July 29, 2020, 12:17:19 PM
~
There's no need to add altcoin gambling section as Gambling section itself already accepts any kind of thread as long as it is about gambling (lol of course).
Not really. This thread was moved from Gambling to Service Discussion (Altcoins) because it's ethereum gambling.

Is there any thread makers whom want to post altcoins on gambling? Or there are even casino projects that only focuses on altcoins? I don't think so.
Other than the example above and what @HeRetiK said, here are the others:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5264070.0 - OP's thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226694.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5110750.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5081143.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120137.0

There are more if you search on that board.

~
But still they also have Bitcoins right? they just had these altcoins as an alternatives so I think it should stay where it is (Gambling Section) besides that Board wasn't meant only for Bitcoin/Fiat, it refers as a whole/generally.
OP is pointing to gambling dapps (decentralized applications) which don't have bitcoin options at the moment because its hard to implement.

Dapps crosschain to BTC is very hard to implement tho.

2732  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines Central Bank Considers Issuing Its Own Digital Currency. on: July 29, 2020, 11:33:00 AM
Sounded like an old news to me nung nabasa ko title. Upon searching for old articles, eto 2018 pa nila pinaguusapan yan - Philippines Central Bank Studying the Possibility of Issuing its Own Digital Currency

Anyway, mukhang patapos na ang first stage (research) at isusunod na ang debates/discussion among BSP executives. Baka isang taon o mahigit ang itatagal bago sila magpasya.

Unionbank and their PHX stablecoin is waving at BSP by the way  Grin
2733  Other / Meta / Re: Huge donations to bitcointalk on: July 28, 2020, 02:53:08 PM
Forum software?? Mods?? Why should both get paid? Isn't smf free? I haven't heard any other mod to get paid.
I think a lot has been spent on the development of new forum software (epochtalk).

Mods deserve to be paid too. It's not easy running a forum like bitcointalk. Imagine the number of reports they have to handle everyday. I'm not sure if payment to mods come from forum donations though. What I know is that it comes from forum ad revenue.

Edit: adding reference
Bruno, the mod payments started around April if I'm not wrong.

Ad revenue to mods, but not donations?

Awesome. And well deserved.

Yes, and about 20-30% is paid out from ad revenues. Of course, the donations aren't touched here.

Loyce.club did archive your post (as well as the OP): https://loyce.club/archive/posts/5488/54882251.html
This is quite embarassing. I was looking at July 27, 2019 posts instead of 2020 that's why I couldn't find the parent thread Embarrassed

I see. Thank you.
2735  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: July 28, 2020, 01:08:31 PM
Hey @TryNinja, if loyce.club couldn't archive the parent thread before it's trashed, I won't get any notification from my deleted comment correct?

I was wondering why I didn't get a notification on my deleted comment yesterday. I checked loyce.club if the parent thread was archived but couldn't find it either.
2736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitGo withdrawal fee is too high on: July 28, 2020, 12:25:08 PM
~ I've asked same question on reddit and the first answer was "Not your keys, not your wallet. BitGo may charge you what ever they want"... This was my first bitcoin wallet created years ago and I did not expect situation to be in this way.
Not the answer you wanted but it's true though. I was wondering why it took you so long to ditch it and go for non-custodial wallets.

With such an attitude from BitGo I would love to move all my funds and even wait for weeks for them to be transferred.
Contact them by email then and wait for their (slow) response. Given that many of us here have little idea about the wallet, it's your best/only option I guess. Please post an update if they ever explain things to you.
2737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitGo withdrawal fee is too high on: July 28, 2020, 12:08:48 PM
I'm guessing you chose their hot wallet known as "BitGo Pay As You Go wallet" which charges 0.25% transaction fee for bitcoin withdrawals. Still, that's way less than the BTC.03  being "eaten" by the wallet. Does the wallet require you to have a minimum balance like what bank accounts do? I know it's a crazy idea but it's strange that your total balance is almost BTC0.15 but what's being shown as available is BTC0.12

2738  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixer on: July 28, 2020, 11:30:54 AM
~
ChipMixer is centralized service which means it is in the strangers hands. Wouldn’t it be better to use any of decentralized solutions offered by either Samourai or Wasabi? What the finest does  ChipMixer have (except there is no need to install something  on someone's device) compared with those wallets that rely on CoinJoin protocol?
I guess it's about the level of mixing CM and Wasabi/Samourai coinjoin provides.

Leaving an article if anyone is interested to read:
https://blog.chainalysis.com/reports/plustoken-scam-bitcoin-price

^ It mentions how Chainalysis were able to track transactions trough mixers like Wasabi wallet.

Anyway, centralized or decentralized, it's up to the OP to choose where he/she is comfortable using. It's worth mentioning that CM and both wallets were able to establish their reputation through the years.
2739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some gamblers have been arrestes in Bangladesh for money laundering through bitc on: July 27, 2020, 03:34:36 PM
~
I forgot to mention that BTC itself is illegal in our country which is the major reason of my fear. I sometimes sold BTC to unknown guy and that's what I'm fearing of. If it was legal, I would have nothing to fear at all.
Is it? I thought only financial institutions are barred from facilitating bitcoin transactions. It was the Central bank who issued the ban and P2P transactions aren't covered.

The way I see this, it's similar to you selling a mobile phone to a criminal and not knowing that he'll use it in his criminal activities.
