~ Imagine, he shift into another weight class within just 10 days but still won. He only got a short preparation yet he seems don't feel any major adjustments the way he smashed his opponent.
Part of it is because of his youth. I hope he doesn't cut weight this often as it will surely take a toll on his body as he gets older and will definitely affect his future fights.

I wasn't expecting Whittaker vs Till to go the distance but it was an entertaining match still. One or two more wins will probably get Robert back to a title fight. Pretty disappointed with Gustafsson, maybe he should have stayed retired.

Funny isn't it? Grin

Every now and then may lumalabas na bagong pakulong ganyan. Maybe a good image din para ipakita sa mga noobs na hindi kailangan sumali sa mga kahit anong grupo/kumpanya, offering crypto commissions in return for their registration fees, para lang kumita. Feel free to grab and post in your walls if necessary.

Discord (international community) - https://discord.gg/ahgHyku

2745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin doesn't reach $500K in 3 years.... on: July 25, 2020, 01:51:13 PM
within three years it means 2020 is still covered in his prediction and 2020 isnt over yet.  dont judge the guy too early ,
Come on now. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's been over three years since he made that comment.

what if price jumps this year ? mcafee is going to be the one that will laugh on us and we are the ones that will eat  our junk .
From $9k to $500K in five months? Be realistic mate. Even in 2021 or 2022, I doubt btc would be that high.

if ever btc fail to increase that much , id still forgive him due to the corona issue that strike this year because if not corona the price could succesfully pump now .
Corona issue or not, it's simply not plausible. What would have possibly happened if COVID-19 didn't hit us is for btc to reach a new ATH but not reach $500K by July 2020.

~
Please do.
Thanks. Added to OP.

I started my journey with cryptocurrency more than 7.5 years ago. I have seen all sorts of scamming and cheating going on in the cryptocurrency market and I regard McAfee as one of the most articulate scammers. I know a huge number of people who lost their money after investing in the projects which were promoted by this loser. It is important to educate new users about what he did earlier.
Yeah, the guy is pretty good at marketing plus he looked like a "genius" to newbies eyes back in 2017. I was lucky enough to dodge a bullet that time. Thanks to the guys who were trying to expose him back then.

Contrary to popular belief not all kinds of stocks yield the same kind of risks as compared to others. The former definitely has a higher chance of giving you better gains for your capital kumpara naman sa ibibigay na interest rate ng RTBs.
True that buying stocks of a financially sound company (blue chips) yields lower risk but most likely still not as low as T. bonds. Like I said, it's a more agressive approach.

On inflation, mukhang wala nga kita lalo na kung titignan natin from the perspective of a businessman or an investor looking for higher gains. Kumbaga it's bank vs. T. Bonds ang laban.

~
You are just referring to millionaires now since yung milyon nilang investment pwede pa din tumubo ng ilang milyon dahil sa laki ng kanilang mga capital. If you want to earn and you aren't rich wala talagang room para maging low risk investor ka dahil sayang lang ang pera at oras mo.
Not really just millionaires. May malaking interest din ang mga average investors (in terms of capital) at mga OFWs sa mga T. Bonds. I've seen it discussed plenty of times in investor based group that I'm in. It didn't come accross to me that they view T. Bonds as a way to become millionaires but an opportunity to grow their money than let it sit in a bank. I can't say for sure kung meron na din sila funds alloted for stocks, mutual funds, and other form of investments.

I also read the comments when DOF first announced it on their page and seen them complain dahil hindi nila ma-download yung mobile app para makabili.

Might as well add another requirement that they should have at least xx no. of activities (min. of 60 activities should be good). The reason behind is that legit newbies shouldn't be aware of the merit and ranking system yet. It's just a suggestion though.

2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoins dominance coming to an end? on: July 22, 2020, 03:08:29 PM
"2018 - bitcoin's dominance is going to end
2019 - same shit
2020 - same shit"

^ Statement by most altcoin maximalist. Yet, bitcoin's dominance remains.

I also thought an altcoin would topple bitcoin before but I've already come to terms that it's not going to happen. "Challengers" can have all their faster/cheaper features but they can't match Bitcoin's superior security.

Now let's tackle the opinion of the Blockchair's executive:

Quote
privacy is not the top cryptocurrency’s strongest suit as its network allows blockchain analysis firms to track user activity. Users who wish to keep their transactions private can turn to a number of altcoins including Monero, Dash and Zcash.
Users can still maintain their privacy when sending btc as long as they don't use centralized platforms though.

Quote
Bitcoin’s scalability is another nail in the coffin. He says the Lightning Network, which is a second-layer solution designed to make it faster and more cost-effective to send BTC, is fundamentally flawed.
This is an old issue. He failed to address that people who support bitcoin knew this long ago but they are willing to give up the convenience of scalability in exchange of network decentralization and security.

Quote
He points to Ethereum, with its proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol, as one coin that could topple BTC.
Ethereum's POS looks good on paper when it comes to scalability but this has yet to be proven. There are plenty of existing blockchains who can scale better than Bitcoin but none of them were able to dethrone btc.

The upcoming upgrades, Taproot and Schnorr signature, are also said to increase privacy and scalability. Perhaps he failed to read on that as well.
2750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Bitcoin Giving on: July 22, 2020, 08:40:48 AM
There are legit free (without capital investment) bitcoin giveaways even on twitter but it's not like the "send me btc and I'll double it" scheme by scammers. The giveaways I'm referring to are competitions like meme, creating songs or other forms.

Adding to @cryptomaniac_xxx said, ask the bitcointalk community when in doubt. But it's better if you can already tell which ones are legit and not.
2751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin doesn't reach $500K in 3 years.... on: July 22, 2020, 08:23:57 AM
For those noobs who don't know who John McAfee is:

1. John McAfee is the person who promoted scam projects such as SimmitriToken and Zombie Coin
2. He charged ~20% of the total supply of the ICO, in exchange for the promotion
3. In other cases, he charged $105,000 for each tweet he made to promote the scam ICOs
4. He is suspected of involvement of the murder of Gregory Faull in Belize
5. McAfee fled to Guatemala, in order to avoid arrest by Belizean authorities
~
I read most of these. If you permit, I'd like to add this to the OP.

~
I really forgot, this is one of the reasons why he is called a clown. He posted the tweet to spread FUD, because as we all know, he has been paid several times to praise a project regardless of the conditions that occur. Although honestly I hope that prediction will come true because I have converted most of my portfolio to bitcoin at that time.
As discussed in the previous comments, McAffee did say some things against bitcoin but he made that particular tweet to spread FOMO though.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: July 22, 2020, 04:49:39 AM
~
Is there any tentative schedule for this fight  to  come?
In an interview, Bob Arum said the fight could take place early October and I read some speculation that it will be on October 3. We'll probably see an official announcement next month. Don't keep your hopes high though. All these largely depends on whether they can sell enough ticket$ or not  Grin

Ticket sales would be the least of the problems for this fight. This is Fury-Wilder III. Tickets would definitely sell like hotcakes. But I bet there would be a limited number of them for live viewing due to physical distancing requirement, if they are given the green light to proceed staging the fight with a live crowd.

If not, then I bet the pay-per-view buys would be making staggering high numbers. The Fury-Wilder II got at least 800,000 pay-per-view buys. This third match, if live viewing is not allowed (boooo), might even make a 6-digit figure.
PPV is probably a lock for this fight but it seems promoters/organizers aren't satisfied with that. They would have done this sooner w/o a live audience. Bob Arum did say something like "if Fury fans, can't travel to see him fight in the US, there's no point in doing it". So yeah, they are after more profits but if the circumstances doesn't allow them more ticket sales (gate), they're not gonna do it.
2753  Other / Off-topic / Re: World top class security in bitcoin transactions on: July 22, 2020, 04:26:37 AM
Perhaps the OP just read about Bitcoin for the firdt time and couldn't really expound the points he's trying to make.

If we look at the "top class security", "no chance of losing money" plus "no third party", he's probably saying transactions sent on the Bitcoin blockchain will go through 100% because it's completely p2p and no third party to interfere/block it. Maybe he's also talking about not losing money from paying fees to 3rd party services or that the blockchain isn't susceptible to 51% attack or double spending.

@Lamp2, you should provide a link to support your "supported by 30k organization" claim.

~
Nawala iyong mga supporters nila a.

2756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason of recent high fee- Twitter API hack on: July 22, 2020, 12:16:27 AM
I doubt the twitter hack had any effect on the network congestion. It's probably just a coincidence. News on exchange hacks had bigger impact.

~
The problem with the high fees started well before the twitter hack if that is what you are talking about. I was having trouble for the past two weeks in getting the transaction confirmed in time and it is taking a long time even with higher fees to get it confirmed. We are seeing this problem every now and then and now with every transaction i make sure i will be monitoring the mempool stats before deciding on the fees to avoid waiting for 10 hours for confirmation.
Are you sending on weekdays? Try sending on a weekend instead. The mempool is usually less congested around those times and you can send quite fast with <5 sats fee.
2757  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Kaalaman : Philippines Launches Blockchain App to Distribute Government Bonds on: July 21, 2020, 11:54:55 PM
Bonds aren't really known for being a high-yield investment. It's always been low risk, low return type.

Sure, anyone can choose more agressive approach like putting up their own businesses or playing with stocks/forex/crypto for higher (potential) gains.

Bonds usually appeal to investors with low risk appetite or those who wants to grow their money than saving it in a bank account for long term which yields almost zero interest. Even bank time deposits that offers highest interest is still lower than bonds as shown in the example.

Kung meron man interesado bumili nyan at this time, you can also consider it as giving the Government a hand para maka-recover. Not in the form of donation but investment. There's a low probablity na hindi magbayad ang Gobyerno sa utang nila kaya pwedeng masabi na halos risk-free ang pagbili ng T. Bonds.

^ Not a financial advice.
2758  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Kaalaman : Philippines Launches Blockchain App to Distribute Government Bonds on: July 21, 2020, 04:09:25 PM
Investing in Philippine bonds: A beginner’s guide

It's cool and all that UnionBank is trying new things, I still don't get why they needed to use "blockchain". Platforms like GCash and PayMaya works fine for people without bank accounts as well, without using "blockchain". But idk, time will tell if this is a good move or not.
Yeah, that part confuses me too.

Trying to connect the dots....Since the Government wants a more effective and efficient processing, they decided to tap into UB's DLT. It just so happen that UB is also in partnership with GCash and PayMaya to cater to the unbanked.

2759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Hector Tanajara vs. Mercito Gesta on: July 21, 2020, 03:13:04 PM
Pilipino boxers are known to give their opponent a hard fight when they step on the ring and they are also some Pilipin boxers who manage to knock out their opponent even though they are just some underdog to the fight. The evidence for that is the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXmROxWzOwM
The link provided here doesn't even mention Gesta.

Gesta is like a bull when he fights. He'll keep charging and that's a pretty straight forward approach to cancel height and reach advantage of opponents. Tanajara isn't known for his KO power so that gives Gesta a good chance. Question is whether if he still have the stamina or not to keep the pace.
