To those inquiring about me selling 1000 shares for 1000 BTC, I think I'm going to wait until friedcat opens his exchange. It'll make things much easier that way.

At the very least Buffet owns a significant portion of Berkshire Hathaway
Thats how he does it. I also own my share of DMC.
|
|
|
are those shares owned by you or dmc?
Officially, DMC. I own no assets personally of any kind, the Warren Buffet way.

|
I'll sell the 1000 I have for 1 BTC each. I think that is a fair deal.

We are sorry to shareholders that we are now >2-month delayed against the original plan. (Late Dec. against Late Oct. to get the chips, plus 4-5 weeks against 2-3 weeks to fully deploy). The status are resulted in by a mix of our optimistic projection, our conservative action and our un-developed relation in the electric manufacturing field. Thanks again for all shareholders' patience and we will keep the track of deploying, and improve our timeline with the lessons of this time in our later products.
It ends up not being an issue. BFL won't ship yet (or possibly ever), bASIC failed to launch, Avalon is in the process of shipping but no one has gotten shipping numbers yet (and most likely won't get the product in their hands until the first week of Feb), so as long as we start mining before or at the same time Avalon customers get their gear, we're fine.

I'm beginning to be really curious as to what the hold up is. Proper way to do this is to plan ahead, and plan for errors also.
Has something come up? Why was hardware ordered after chips and boards arrived? Haven't any mechanical CAD or thermal analysis been done?
Hope your update is open and detailed. There's no need to keep any secrets at this point.
The hold up, right now, is the Chinese New Year, and possibly, your inability to read. friedcat has already said in this thread: 1) The first batch was split in half just in case there were errors in the chip design, and the first half of the first batch has been completed, the rest of the first batch has only been manufactured half way and... 2) friedcat has given his go ahead to the chip fab to complete them 3) friedcat has tested a sample of the chips, and they passed testing with flying colors, and may even be able to be clocked much higher than originally engineered for, due to how well they came out 4) the half of the first batch has been sent to the board assembler to be surface mounted with the rest of the components 5) the Chinese New Year means nothing gets done 6) he has already chosen and mostly prepared the location the mining rigs will be setup 7) the first boards should be completed and sent to friedcat and begin mining in the first or second week of February 1. According to friedcat the 2nd half was finished and in QC over a week ago 2. The go ahead was given and additional wafers were ordered, not the first 12 3. 4. 5. Nowhere has friedcat said that Chinese New Year would in any way influence ASICMINER. He said and I quote: It might take more than 2 weeks to get all 12 wafers up and hashing 6. 7. See 5. I read his update that all chips from the 12 wafers would be up and running in appr 2 weeks since the last update, so 1 week from now. The only thing of concern and possibly related to CNY is the act that they ordered Heatsinks in bulk 2 weeks ago.... That might cause a delay if they dont arrive before CNY 1/2) I must have missed the update where he said the second half was already finished and hes already ordered the second batch 5) He hasn't said it, but its still an issue if things take too long or something goes wrong. 7) One week from now is February. Now, yes, I hope they start mining this week, but I think it'll end up being the first week of Feb.

Do you realise that Chinese New Year isn't until February 10th which is two and a half weeks away from now ? Yes. Stuff starts shutting down and priority jobs are completed before the beginning of the Chinese New Year, and once the Chinese New Year starts, everything is completely shut down and everyone goes home. Hopefully, the finished boards are already in friedcat's hands BEFORE the 10th, otherwise we might be in for a longer wait.

This is just a warning. You are headed for a scammer thread if this asset isnt relisted on another exchange and all back dividends paid to the asset holders soon. Just because ASICMINER is getting all the attention doesnt mean you can scam the holders of other assets you issued.
You have been given the asset holder lists and theres plenty of other exchanges available that let you easily import the lists so you might want to deal with it the sooner the better if you want to avoid a tag.
Troll much? friedcat has already made it clear hes setting up a private exchange to handle all of his assets, including MOORE and ASICMINER. He no longer trusts any exchange enough to handle his assets.

I got 69 shares, I would like to sell them if anyone wants to buy it. I was thinking maybe .5 or .4BTC per share.
PM me if you want to negotiate a price : >
friedcat won't recognize the sale anyhow. Just wait until the exchange is up and running.

However, the shareholders of ASICMINER are always in a better place
Props for the decency to present it as an equity deal from day one, rather than calling stock subscription "preorders" like everyone else. Yeah, this. It still pisses me off how BFL abused all of their investors by calling them customers and called their investments preorders. Between BFL and bASIC, a lot of bullshit has gone on that ASICMINER and Avalon and the entire Bitcoin community could have done without.

Update
What happened last week:
1. Workshop with sufficient power supply and cables for mining farm settled. 2. Solution of mechanical parts such as sub-racks and heatsinks done and products bulk-ordered. 3. The mass production (second batch) of the chips starts in the fab. 4. The rest 6 wafers finished and in the QC stage. 5. Waiting for all the main boards assembled with chips and components done.
If our competitor meets their deadline and ships the products on time, congratulations to them. However, the shareholders of ASICMINER are always in a better place now, than device users. because while the everlasting free upgrade from providers for users is not possible, all our future products will benefit our shareholders. Thanks to all shareholders for taking the risks with/for us as investors in the beginning of our project. Higher risks are almost always rewarded with higher returns when the risks are eliminated. Now the biggest risks have gone so please expect the enjoying of both short-term and long-term profits of us in the next years. And also thanks for your patience.
The deploying with the whole 12 wafers may take more than two weeks. But everything is progressing well and no exceptions happened. We will make more frequent updates when any new milestones are hit.
So the completed boards should be back early Feb?

Just got my BitFunder email.
What were the last traded prices of DMC on GLBSE right before it closed?
I don't know, but I think someone recorded a lot of the assets before the shutdown.

As per the motion passed on August 17th, the dividends for August (paid September 1st), September (paid October 1st), and October (paid November 1st) were recycled be recycled to increase NAV.
The only months eligible for dividends for this period are November (paid Dec 1st) and December (paid Jan 1st). Because GLBSE shut down at the beginning of October, no assets that pay dividends owned by DMC have been able to pay dividends. Before the GLBSE shutdown, BTCMC voted to suspend dividends to save up for ASICs, and has not paid any dividends during this period. ASICMINER has not yet begun paying dividends. BTC-MINING has not yet paid dividends owed.
As part of a promotion by BitFunder, former GLBSE assets were paid 10BTC to relist on Bitfunder. I have paid this out as a dividend for the month of December.

Oh, and btw, the asset list is still: 106 BTC-MINING 1000 BTCMC 1000 ASICMINER
Can you confirm this is still the asset list? Yes. I'm going to do an interim report in a bit.

All three of you are on the final list. You should have gotten emails by now. If this isn't the case, tell me so I can bug Ukto.

Everyone who has shares should have gotten an email from Bitfunder on how to setup their accounts and claim their shares.
I've also issued the 10 BTC from the Bitfunder promotion as a dividend to shareholders.
I haven't received an email. Have they all gone out? Whats your email? You might not be on the final asset list.

+1 for fast migration to a trading platform. +1 for faster sending of confirmation email that I own my shares
-1 for migration to a trading platform. If it is not done in block chain with colored coins, or similar manner, please do not. It just will get busted, and create another mess like GLBSE. If we can trade it by using block chain +1. Except friedcat was just going to run his own just for asicminer.

That heatsink is a waste of money. Its clearly a high performance one, but you never waste copper on the fins on a heatpipe assembly, it doesn't improve the performance. Plus, the base isn't nickel plated. Even if I needed a low profile heatsink like that, thats not the one I'd be buying. Plus, friedcat couldn't easily tile those closely due to the overlap of the heatpipe assembly, and the airflow is down facing on those thus also hard to use in small assemblies. Its easier to blow air across the board than straight into it. BFL keeps making this design mistake.
