Have at me! I might as well be the first one to get stones thrown at.

~Bruno~

You only have half a brain, you half brain Angry

You're so dumb you thought Mt. Gox got GoXXXed by Shang Tsung!

Your mom's so fat, she's almost as fat as your other mom that wears the plaid shirts and steel toed boots.

I offer $120 shipped to 54501 for 1 5870. i'm pretty stiff on that.

I'll give you $120 plus shipping for as many as you can come up with...

Seriously guys.  If you feel the need to bid below ebay prices (AKA Lowball) please don't.

I'm not a crackhead, nor a heroin addict, and I am not desperate for the money.
344  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ready to unload my massive trove of 22 BTC! on: July 29, 2012, 06:58:10 AM
I was just trying to think of something bizarre to throw in there... I got the idea from Hardcore Pawn.

Yeah a shrunken head would be wicked!

I also have two Radeon 5870's for sale.  I mined with them for a month or two about a year ago.

What's the preferred method - ebay?

I would be interested in the 5870's, what do you want for them?

check hardware for sale section i put them up

Asking price is $400 cash, or 50 BTC.  Includes priority mail shipping anywhere in the US.

that price may have been deliberately set high to give you some haggle room, but 5870's sell for around $175'ish on ebay, and that's with 12% in fees
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica - What have you done about it? on: July 29, 2012, 05:08:25 AM
I still have yet to figure this trend out... it was the same when I left a year ago.

General Pattern:

-Some moron gets thousands of $$$/BTC/Both stolen/hacked/whatever
-Some website was hacked in the process
-MtGox usually GOXXXES somebody
-Everyone gets up in arms
-Rinse and Repeat, as necessary.

Suggested Solutions:

-It is unethical to let a sucker keep their money
-Protect shit you find valuable
-Who cares who lost what and who got hacked?

Hide money under your mother's mattress.  After all, I've been hiding money under your mother's mattress for years, and to no ill effect.

Have two.  Used for about 2 months of mining about a year ago.  Both are working, one I took out of my PC last night to make room for an expansion card, the second one I will take out when it sells.  This is the reference version.  It also includes the crossfire cables.

I averaged about 375-420 MH/s with each one for a total of 675-800 combined a year ago.  Maybe the drivers are better now.

Asking price is $400 cash, or 50 BTC.  Includes priority mail shipping anywhere in the US.

I'm too lazy to try and unlock my MtGoXXXed account,

Do you mean the account and even BTCs cannot be withdrawn, or do you just mean that you cannot convert to fiat and withdraw that way without verifying your account?

Incidentally, bitcoinminer.com and @BitcoinMiner twitter feed are unrelated to this forum user which is of the same name.

My Mt GoXXXed account have no BTC in them.  I am referring to converting to fiat.

Correct on the second and third point.  BitcoinMiner was the first name I tried when I joined here, and had no idea about the .com site.

BTC are sold, pending payment arriving.

Still have TWO 5870s which I will be posting in the for sale forum.

I will repost of the deal for the 22BTC falls thru.

Here's things I'd be interested in trading for:

US Dollars (no, I don't want to try your stupid exchange site.)
Used prosthetic limbs
HAM Radio equipment

That's about it.  I see they're going for $8.88 right now on MtGoXXXed.  I'll sell 22.37 that I have for $175.  WOW! SUCH A DEAL! $20 off retail price for fictitious money!

In all seriousness though, I want to unload them and I'm too lazy to try and unlock my MtGoXXXed account, and TradeHill which I used to use seems to have disappeared.  I'd accept PayPal if you were willing to wait 30 days to receive your bitcoins.

I want one that says:

    BITCOIN
  Get GoXXXed.

353  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Soon . . . on: December 03, 2011, 03:15:36 PM

Selling info is totally wrong and not the type of behavior that they engage in. They prefer to give your unencrypted data to third parties who are then hacked and get your info released publicly for free, which is an incredible value.

lol +1

Notice how when anyone asks "Why didn't you tell us this WEEKS ago???" they never respond?

356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in France: first legal decision directly related to Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2011, 04:10:10 AM
I'm not sure I would trust my BTC OR my $$$ to a "financial institution" that uses google mail for their email system.

if you think you can do better as an exchange, then open one.

I am sure they had more important things to take care of then trying to maintain an email server.

...Or a SQL database of user passwords, or a customer service line, or a legal department, or proper programmers... or or or or or...

It's just symptomatic of the whole situation.  You can't run a hobby like a business, or a business like a hobby.  Pick what you're going to do, and do it the right way.

I have no desire to be an exchange of any kind of money.  If I were going to do that, I would buy nickels and melt them down.

Sometimes I love how Bitcoin community cuts its own neck.

People say "we need more transaction volume", and "we need more non speculative demand for BTC".

Then a newbie tries to use Bitcoin and gets told to Fuck Off.  I mean can you imagine if you had a question about your credit card and VISA told you to fuck off.

Meh.  Yeah the questions lacked details and made it tough to help but it is the newbie section.  I know it is a crazy idea but how about we encourage adoption?

We definitely need more ABBA fans using bitcoin, though their 80s work is a little second rate. If he's called himself 'SOS' we'd probably be more happy to help.

Dancing Queen would be a top choice too...
