What is the optimal block size for staking?
That has been the question since the project started. I think the answer remains "it depends". I'm combining to 25K for my next few rounds, and see how it goes. Under 5K takes most of forever to stake, so you have to find the balance between your patience level and expected reward. Lower blocks take longer, but you won't always hit the cap. Bigger blocks hit the cap before you're eligible to stake. I suspect there are as many strategies as there are HYP holders. Will i be fine with 7.5-10k? Oh another thing: how do i split blocks in clients that don't have split block feature? You will be fine with this block sizes, but expect an average staking time of 20-25 days(+-). To split blocks manually select a desired block and send a part of it to yourself (to the initial address or another one in your wallet). Got it. So if i wanted them to stake more quickly i'd have to use blocks of 20-25k? Yes, you are right. You can also try 15-20k range to slightly boost the returns in exchange for some time. @Biomech said it best. It's the time-tested balancing act of patience versus satisfaction. - smaller blocks take longer but yield better returns in the long run (closer to 750% annual or whatever it is now) because you're maximizing the # of coins staking for 1000 HYP
ie: 4000 HYP blocks -> yield 1000 HYP : Ratio 4:1 | Unknown factor: Time (9days min. + ?)- bigger blocks take shorter, yield full rewards (1000 HYP) and still yield good returns in the long run (less close to 750% or whatever)
ie: 10,000 HYP blocks -> yield 1000 HYP : Ratio 10:1 | Unknown factor: Time (9days min. + ?)For what it's worth: My blocks range from 3-6k. I've been doing this for months automatically using For the record: My staking wallet is in the top 15 so those sizes work pretty good.

25M per node would be too high imo That'd be around 175 total masternodes at this point in time with exactly zero more coins in circulation for transactions/exchange/betting/etc
The masternode system works best when there are a large number of nodes, a number large enough to not be outnumbered by a bad seed.
5M per node would give 5*175= 875 masternodes with 0 coins in circulation. Even if 1/2 the community did masternodes that's be over 400 with 1/2 the coin supply still in the wild for transactions, etc...
5M logically seems better to me.

just watching right now because i don't have TB again... delay = dump , dev online = price up...
If you have any questions we will be happy to answer it. Regards, TeleBET Team. ETA on roadmap? Is anyone still working on the project? Your GIT hasn't had any work to it since the coin launched. Latest commit by TeleBETteam 16 days ago

I thought we verified in slack and on the blockchain that the stolen coins transferred 24 hours ago and your new computer want done syncing 24 hours ago. That means that the breach happened on your old system not the new one. The new one only verified the theft once synced. It was the most current version of the chain you could read.
It's like trading wallet.dats around different computers. You move it to one computer and do a couple transactions, move it to the next and do the same. When you restart the original computer the wallet.dat saved had all the coins you had before the transfers but once you're in sync the other coins come out.
Tldr: the beach was on the old computer, not the new one.

Would be nice. Alas, Clearinghouse explorer is down, dev is focusing on VIA and the lone exchange, Polo, has frozen trading. What does the future hold?

What is the current ETA for the ShadowMarket? I know it's still under development, but a tentative release date would bode well for investor/community confidence.
Update: Tuesday, 20 April 2015
ShadowMarket Progress Update
Good progress is being made on the Shadow Marketplace. Our developers expect to pick up speed now that all the necessary updates have been made to ShadowCore and a date has been scheduled for the PoS v2 hard fork. We will be working on upgrading ShadowChat for secure messaging, which will be the backbone of the whole market place, using BIP32 addresses for category trees. After that we will be working on anonymous mutltisig transactions. We are aiming to have a beta version ready for public testing and feedback within Q2. ShadowMarket will be the primary focus of our developers and the next feature to be added to the ShadowCore client.
Thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm,
The Shadow Team

Hi Guys
Just a quick confirmation, there is just over 8 hrs left in the PO. We will be working through the procedures immediately after the PO end to ensure the proper burning of the excess Viral by CCEX. Both Bittrex and Cryptsy will be opening for trading shortly thereafter. We do not have any control over the exact trading start on either exchange, so just keep the F5 key handy : -)
There will be a series of announcements over the next few days. Our first sponsor is on board and we are helping them design their campaign. This will be the first chance for us to watch the Viral network in action, and we as devs expect to learn a lot about the system we have designed, and get the technical feedback we need.
Lastly, I can now confirm OAUTH will be live at the wallet release, so we encourage everyone to get involved and be a part of the first Viral campaigns!
thanks
ViralDev
I'm assuming wallet sources will be distributed (for Crowdfunders), BayAreaCoins will be contacted (by Crowdfunders) and VIRAL will be distributed (to Crowdfunders) before Bittrex & Cryptsy are brought into the mix?

The main feature attracting me is the upcoming ShadowMarket. Especially now that Sling is making a mess out of it imo. I'm curious to see this decentralized market and I hope it's more ripened then other options that I have seen so far.
Agreed multiple times. Other projects are just taking open code out there already, pasting it into their's and hope it sticks. This team is taking the road less traveled and making it from the ground up. This is the modus operandi of this team. It takes longer but is the proper way to create an entire suite of privacy tools.

If I remember correctly the dev said something about I2P not to long back, if he integrates that will we be able to choose to either use TOR or I2P while using the market? This project is crazy!!!!!!!! Yep pookie, just copy&paste it from crave And it looks like crave borrowed from anoncoin with that And all borrow from bitcoin committed over 2 years ago: https://github.com/VirtualDestructor/bitcoin-qt-i2p

From company information: Each BIT share represented ownership of 0.1 bitcoins initially. The trust will not generate any income and regularly sells/distributes bitcoins to pay for its ongoing expenses. Therefore, the amount of bitcoin represented by each share gradually declines over time. BTC/USD = $243 BIT/USD = $530 Nice markup! They say it's easier to move money once it's in the system. I'm curious if that's the case and people don't care the 110% premium or they are just un-informed investors? I can give you a use case - in retirement accounts most people can only buy official stocks. So if you expect BTC to go to $50,000, you don't care if you get it at $250 or $500, if your retirement account is such that profits are not taxed, you are still better off paying double in the long run. this is not so. $500 buys you 2.03BTC, and same $$ buy 10 GBTC= ~1BTC. You to have tax rates in excess of 50% in order to make buying GBTC justified mathematically. However, two prices seem to move to converge. When GBTC was $65 and bitcoin 234, it made more sense to sell GBTC and buy bitcoin. I think that GBTC and bitcoin prices will converge at some point. We're saying the same thing, just coming at it logically from 2 different angles. In my example and your example the numbers line up and the GBTC purchasers are paying a +100% markup at this time. I agree they'll line up better down the road as well.

But then again, crowdfunders cannot sell before the end of the PO, because they do not have their coins yet.
Only top 10% right? or was that voted on?

i don't understand viral ICO strategy anybody can deposit and withdraw coins during second phase and place order or sell to buy wall during crowdfound
really? and ppl are investing? good luck
Nobody can deposit because nobody has their coins outside of C-Cex yet. Nobody can place a sell wall higher than the crowdfunded 7878 satoshi's. Anybody who is selling at a lower price are selling at a loss because they originally bought at 7878 satoshi's. Not too sure what the logic is in that, but there you go. There is no logic. He is either FUDing or an idiot or both. Crowdfunders actually bought at 6060 sats. So selling between 7878 and 6060 would make a profit

That's why I think its important to have ALL the functionality of SDC implemented by that point. One advantage of the relatively weak distribution of an altcoin is hard forks are much easier, as we recently saw. Getting a few thousand early adopters to update is much easier than doing it with millions of users of widely varying background.
Great point! This can clearly be seen in the proposed 20MB block sizes for bitcoin and the hardfork for that being scheduled nearly 1 year in advance. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/34riua/hard_fork_allow_20mb_blocks_after_1_march_2016/
