341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 20, 2024, 09:13:34 PM
That is $4000 which is big enough for anyone who can feel disappointment and regret. Yes, we can't imagine if that will happen to the poor people but I see it was impossible because they don't have such amount of money to gamble. That known influencer is not a truly rich person nor a long-time gambler, she is just a beginner who also thinks gambling could make her rich instantly and so the reason she bet that huge amount. Now, she has found out what gambling is all about and believes that people like her (influencers) are wrong as well.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: February 20, 2024, 02:11:26 PM
I don't see gambling as a thing to introduce one to. In the line of pursuing money, people choose different approach to it, some have passion for certain things, whether it pays them large or small, they just love it.

If you go to such a person to sway him away cos you think he can do better in the alternative, you might be destroying him, do not also forget that if he has no passion for the alternative, he might incur series of losses despite knowing about the game. If such happens, you will always be blamed.
Many people are familiar with gambling and play it. They gamble because they want to have fun. But many people also want to make money from gambling. Those people who chase money have experienced a lot of losses. That doesn't stop them from gambling so they still gamble because they want to win the gambling game.

Maybe he doesn't need to be introduced to sports betting because he already seems to be familiar with sports betting if I read @OP's explanation. Leave it alone if he still likes slot games and there's no need to get him to switch to sports betting unless he asks him what casino site @OP uses.
Chasing winnings is not fun anymore but was just desperation and it mostly ended up losing more. The worst scenario is we commit loans. Indeed, the majority do not understand fully what is gambling because what is in their mind is that it is a good earning opportunity that makes them instantly rich when hit the jackpot prize.

When introducing to someone, we also need to know what he likes and what he knows. Having into a place where we have knowledge seems to be our advantage and I see that sports betting suits that person over slot games. He would lose more as expected rather than winning.
343  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 20, 2024, 12:33:48 PM
I think you are talking about strategy, not psychological analysis. Rich people use their money to manipulate the market - small-cap coins. That is a simple plan which makes them succeed but as @Oshosondy, this is impossible for Bitcoin.

If you are thinking OP that money is important in trading, then forget about TA or any form of marker analysis as you are not just doing trading but manipulation. But for us who are actually enjoying trading and feel that we are trading fairly, then must say that TA is very important. Of course, I don't expect everyone to see how important it is and I don't think it was effective for a trader who does not even believe its help.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 19, 2024, 09:40:50 PM
I see that some people remain positive despite their hard situation and never give up on their hope. There are some people like you OP who still exist as you don't just look for your situation but rather see what you can do to have at least a better life. Yes, if we do not benefit from our investment today but for sure some of our family members could get it. We may not be helpful to them this time or have been a burden to them however we take the chance to help them back on the other way by having this Bitcoin investment.

I hope your story will encourage people who also have faced situations like you not to see how it is bad but rather dare to survive. And most of all, they will also see Bitcoin as an investment opportunity to give a better life.

345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: February 19, 2024, 08:49:04 PM
Well, I believe that there is a possibility of reaching $100k someday but hitting $1M in the future is quite impossible. Even people are using the DCA strategy but it is too expensive and poor people can't afford it anymore. And even if the demand reaches too high, I couldn't still imagine it, maybe $200k is fair enough. If ever it happens, I don't see any reason that urge people to invest and hold for this won't just it concerning about the price but the hacking incident may give doubts to people.

But anyway, I don't think this is the right board for this topic. I believe this should be on the speculation board Wink. edit
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 19, 2024, 03:20:33 PM
Guys, we can now see a wide market for this particular fight.
Check it out here: https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/boxing/match/46299231-Inoue-Takuma-vs-Ancajas-Jerwin

And these are my bets:

Ancajas by KO at 7.20

Draw at 15

Ancajas 1-3 rounds at x36

Ancajas 4-6 rounds at x23

Your pick and the odds sound very interesting, but the KO in the early rounds sounds risky too. I mean, based on Takuma's record, he has one loss but hasn't been KO'd in his career. Although Ancajas had a TKO victory over Wilner Soto in his last fight, I think Inoue is better than him. So it's a big gamble. However, if you are lucky, you'll enjoy a decent reward as that 23 times return is the lowest you can win. In addition, you'll get x7.20 since it also qualifies as a KO victory.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 19, 2024, 02:31:16 PM
Not good news for Gilas, who will be playing in the FIBA Asia qualifying without JMF. It was reported today that he will be sitting out, and they will use Japeth as their big man. It's indeed a different scenario without Fajardo playing, but let's trust them. The positive note is that Brownlee is back and can still lead the team.

Here's the news.  https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba/japeth-aguilar-gilas-call-up-fajardo-sits-out-hk-qualifier-a795-20240219

Quote

JAPETH Aguilar has been called up by Gilas Pilipinas in the first window of the Fiba Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers.

Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone said Aguilar will suit up for the games against Hong Kong on February 22 and Chinese Taipei on February 25 with June Mar Fajardo and AJ Edu out due to injuries.

I think JMF can play, but they are giving him a rest since they know they are capable of beating those two teams. JMF and AJ Edu were crucial during their Asian Games championship run, but now they won't be playing, and instead, Japeth will be on the court. While Japeth may not contribute as much on points, he can still be reliable in terms of defense, even if he isn't the same as before. However, with Tim Cone as the coach, I trust him to make the most out of this lineup and be successful in these two games.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are people getting scared to Trade on: February 19, 2024, 05:45:41 AM
The answer is simple. They love their hard earned money and without proper preparation they don’t want to trade. Trading is not an easy task. You need to have proper technical knowledge in order to make profits from trading. If you don’t have enough knowledge about the market and do trading blindly, then forget about profits, you will be sinked in losses only. Hence, many people try other stuffs many time to make some good cash.
I agree with you earning money is very hard work but when one is trading it becomes a challenge to make profit. If one does not have proper knowledge in the field of trading, he will never be able to profit. that is why many are afraid of trading. And it's normal to be afraid. so if one wants to make a safe investment and if they have enough money to make a long term investment then they can choose strong currencies like Bitcoin, ETH. because long-term investment in these potential currencies can bring very good profits
That is why trading is not for everyone nor it was forced on anyone but this is for those who are risk-takers. We are not just talking about how we can afford to take risks but what we are pointing out is how to earn a profit if we only have knowledge and skills but no emotional control or if we are greedy. It definitely won't be going to success but see failures and losses. As we've been trading, it doesn't just mean that we can afford to take risks but we also can afford to adapt to the situation and eliminate those negative factors that will hinder success.

Scares are usual but it can eventually change especially if we trust ourselves that we can do right.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 16, 2024, 03:15:59 PM
Often poor people like to be poor.  They are given a chance - for example, a big lottery win - but they spend it all without investing anything in the possibility of a steady income. They buy villas, cars, furniture in huge quantities, without thinking that they have to maintain it all. In the end, the money runs out - and the balance sheet is a pile of illiquid. They sell the rest for pennies, which they also spend. Poverty is often a psychological problem
Poor people don't like to be poor, that's why they use all of their money to buy anything that they likes to impress other people. Actually rich people are like to be poor because when they're in progress to build their wealth, they're need to limit their spending and use most of their money for investment.

Poor people don't like to be poor, but their mindset makes them to stay poor.
A luxurious lifestyle makes a poor person poorer. That is a wrong mindset as they care about how to impress others but not how to prepare for their future.
Poor should not compete with how rich people look as they have a lot of money to buy anything without worrying about where to get it.

I see now the need of the poor people is not a job but a need to be educated on financial management. As long as they don't value their money and use it wisely, it only be wasted and spent on useless stuff. They need an education that helps them see how to value their hard-earned money and help them realize that we need to change our lifestyle even if we increase our income as instead of using our extra money for nonsense, may it used to invest. Because this is the best way to have financial freedom.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am seeking advice investement in new projects is legit or not ?? on: February 16, 2024, 01:52:55 PM
It was not yet proven as a scam project but it is already looked like. Be careful in this project as it can't be trusted based on my perspective. If you still have a plan about this then don't rush, just wait for a few days or weeks for project verification and to see the legitimacy of the project. It was not difficult to judge a project if it was a scam or not, mostly they found out for the site developer and the transparency of the team. But if I were you, I rather choose those projects that already have use cases at least we have assurance, not new projects where we are too uncertain about their future.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Repeating mistakes on casino games in gambling site on: February 16, 2024, 01:11:46 PM
Playing the same game for a period of time that is not much different even though previously you lost at that game, in my opinion, is not a mistake but a normal thing in gambling, for example when you play slots, dice, plinko or other casino games and experience defeat and the next day or a few days the possibility playing again and losing again is because the game is only based on luck so no one can predict when luck is on the player's side, and players are used to playing the same game over and over again because it's based on their preferences, not because they make mistakes, and so do I it when like plinko, I will still play even though I have lost before and in a few days I will still play the same game because I like it
Even doing this for a year won't change the chance as we still rely on luck or else, we still lose. So instead of having some hopes in these games, it is better to look for other games where we have higher chances of winning, games where we don't just rely on luck but also the skills of the players like in sports betting. Because spending the whole life in these pure luck games has nothing to do with it as our chances are very slim. Unless we cheat the house for that sake which I don't think it was a good idea for being a responsible gambler. That mistake won't get solved until we choose to leave and gamble on the other games.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: February 16, 2024, 11:33:13 AM
That is the natural tendency for people to focus more on the potential for winning rather than the possibility of losing when engaging in gambling activities. ⁤⁤Many people may be more optimistic about their chances of success, which can lead to a mindset primarily focused on the potential rewards rather than the risks involved.

⁤It's understandable to be optimistic and hopeful about winning, but being mindful of the potential outcomes, including losses, can help gamblers make more informed decisions and set realistic expectations. ⁤⁤Moderation and self-control are key factors in maintaining a healthy approach to gambling. ⁤⁤Understanding that losses are a normal part of the gambling experience can help prevent impulsive behavior and excessive risk-taking. ⁤⁤It's about finding a healthy balance between optimism and realism that ensures the enjoyment of gambling in which is not overshadowed by the negative impacts of excessive risk-taking or addiction.
In my experience most people go way beyond what we can safely call an optimistic attitude, since they do not even consider the possibility of failure at all, so if they think they can win at gambling they do not even think about the possibility of this not happening.

Which is why they are so hurt when they actually lose, as they cannot understand how something they wanted desperately not only did not happen, but they had to suffer the opposite outcome and they lost money instead.
Losing is not in their mind but winning. So if when they win during their first bet, mostly it happens to double the amount thinking they could still win the next round. Being careless with our decisions will also lead to emptying our pockets and even losing more. Optimism is good in other areas but in gambling, that ain't work well as this will also be a reason why most gamblers lose their money. Knowing enough is somewhat needed in gambling and having this mindset helps us save from keeping our winning prize intact or at least we go home with it, not like we go home empty. Because we can't assume that all day we are too lucky, winning is just a bonus.
353  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k possible before end of this month? on: February 16, 2024, 08:12:42 AM
Well, I enjoy looking at the current trend and I assume that many of us are shocked. But it was enough, the price of Bitcoin may or may not continue to rally that's it, and it could be good not to speculate that high this time. Unless the market cycle had changed already.

I could assume that many BTC holders take their chance to upload their coins after seeing the price increase, not a new thing in the crypto space. And the impact is going down. I was observing the trend, it never stays high too long like 2 weeks which I expect any of these days, but the downtrend seems to appear. Moreover, I'm glad we have this kind of movement making newcomers think that the market is not always on the rally but there are corrections as well.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What memecoins are you holding atm? on: February 16, 2024, 05:20:33 AM
Meme coins never have good market appreciation after hearing a lot of people get into trouble with their investments after buying. Well, it was the fact that investors make money during their hype but after that, it drops making those holders and latecomers suffer losses. Maybe those who have bought Dogecoin have some hopes but for those who invest in new meme coins, that is a big problem because most of them are not listed anymore which gives you no chance to sell anymore. This is one big problem that meme coins investors encountered and the situation hasn't changed yet which investors never gain assurance to get their money after missing the chance of selling their coins during hype.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 16, 2024, 04:30:37 AM
Wow, the Bucks.
The coaching change really did them dirty, well deserved.
Now they even lose against a Memphis team that "competes" with a 9 man (mostly bench players or even GLeague type players) rotation and has an injury list with 10 players, basically all their stars.

How can you even go from here if you are Milwaukee??
Can it actually happen and they fire Doc Rivers after just a few games? That would be hilarious!!

I didn't expect that but they seemd playing very inconsistent. I thought they had figure it out alread when they blowout the Nuggets on their homecourt, and there goes again losing against a weak team. Giannis probably didn't like it, I don't know what would happen to the Bucks, their season is on the line now.

Meanwhile, Jazz almost completed their comeback, but just one costly mistake made by Collins throwing the ball to the crowd made them loss their chance. However, it's still a good game though, they were competitive and they know how to come back, just fall short on this one.
356  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 15, 2024, 10:40:53 PM

Now, my question is: is it a possibility that this upcoming halving is unique in that a new ATH is reached before it? We still have a lot of time left. With the demand beating the supply, $69,000 is not far away from the current price.
It is not far from happening but halving is not far as well. Maybe if halving will happen in 3rd quarter of this year, I could say it was possible but it was just expected 2 months from now https://www.nicehash.com/countdown/btc-halving-2024-05-10-12-00#! which I could think the time is not enough for Bitcoin to reach new ATH.

I was optimistic about it but as we can see in previous ATH, that comes a year after halving. I may be wrong because of the current price trend. However, this will never give me confidence as well that it go easy that way as dumps are unpredictable as well. Anyway, even though the ATH never happened this year, we are all still optimistic about the future of Bitcoin.
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 15, 2024, 09:41:04 PM
I wonder why some traders are still experiencing losses in their crypto trading upon all the impart professional traders are imparting  traders in some trading section to ensure traders know when to trade to win and when not to trade to avoid losses. Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? ~snip~

Well, technically yes but if you ask if I can always make them win? no I can't. Many professional traders or influencers share their tips and tricks on social media and recommend when to buy and when to sell. When they share something like that indirectly they make everyone who follows him will win in their crypto trading if his tips work well. But we never guarantee anything when we follow someone movement even our strategy will often be wrong. Don't be greedy in trading, because greed will only make your profit become losses in just one night especially when you trading altcoins.
It is just like following signal groups where people think it is a sure win but not all the time it works while most of the time it is wrong. Yes, you are right in saying It can't be always as certainly we can't make it perfect. However, making someone win and become profitable lies in the hands of the trader. It is just how they decide on the situation and following others' tricks is sometimes not applicable which means that we need to decide our own.

We have these tips and ideas shared by self-proclaimed expert traders but guess what not all the time they win as well. This is enough to tell us that even following their signals is not a guarantee for success.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: February 15, 2024, 03:03:57 PM
But as we have noted already, he needs to show he camp of Inoue, if he really deserves a fight.

Meaning, give us something a big win against a rank fighter in this division and maybe Inoue will give him his chance.

That hasn't happen yet for Casimero. The most valid evidence that he was really winning an impressive fights is if his ranking is improving, right now, his ranking wouldn't make him a mandatory challenger for Inoue, so if Inoue will choose him, it could be a special treatment or people might criticize Inoue for choosing a fighter with lower ranking instead of those at the top as his challenger.

Casimero needs to continue winning so he'll get a chance to square up with Inoue before the latter moves up.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: February 15, 2024, 01:16:32 PM

Better check his highlights if you are referring to Haney. Ryan here is not an undefeated anymore as he fall to the hands of Tank Davis, now, trying a much bigger and probably quicker boxer which.

@robelneo, I saw your thread was locked, so this should be the official one for discussion.

Yes aware of that I should have locked it and apologized to OP for not taking action, anyway its still two months but the excitement just started could be the fight of the year and the thrash talks of the year too, I just noticed it 2 against 1 on the trash talk war Ryan should bring along his father too so it will become a father against father and son against son  Cheesy.
And Ryan's bodyguards are better than Haney's too, the Haneys should fire their bodyguards and replace them with much bigger bodyguards, I will not be surprised if a brawl happens during a press con, no one wants to be subdued on the thrash talk

Having a brawl during the press but the fight will still continue, that would be a great scenario to seek more attention, just like on Mayweather's exhibition fight press against Logan Paul IIRC. More drama will create more attention, and could potentially create more money, and if they'll do that, I wouldn't be surprise if this fight will have a bigger PPV revenue compared to Ryan vs Tank Davis.
360  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from other person's mistakes on: February 15, 2024, 09:26:09 AM
It makes no sense and a stupid decision be made if we invest a huge amount in something like Bitcoin which we don't have knowledge about this.
Because I couldn't imagine someone can afford to lose their money. So, therefore, we don't just know how to buy but also, we must know how to secure our funds as well.

We don't need to wait for other people to speak and tell us that we are wrong or make those people an example but rather be prepared and aware of scam issues. We can avoid this situation if we think more times before deciding to trust people. Scams are everywhere, and it is possible we become their target but they will fail if we are too keen to check the legitimacy of the site and project.
