361  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 5 Mining Rigs @ 4x 6870 cards @ 1.2GHs on: April 23, 2012, 03:50:09 PM
I'm at 525w @ the wall for all of my 4x6870 rigs, and that's with the 100% cpu bug.

Don't let anybody know what CPU, voltage/OC settings, or MH/s you're at or anything.
362  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Help with running 3 cards off of 1 PSU on: April 22, 2012, 11:38:54 PM
Perfect thank you! It looks like I would need some female to male adapters coming off the PSU, correct?

According to the link to the PSU you provided, included with the PSU are:

  • Mainboard cable with a 24-pin connector (47cm)
  • CPU cable with a 4-pin connector (47cm)
  • CPU cable with an 8-pin connector (48cm)
  • Two graphics card cables with 6-pin connectors (48cm)
  • Two graphics card cables with 6-pin connectors (56cm)
  • Graphics card cable with an 8-pin connector (49cm)
  • Graphics card cable with an 8-pin connector (59cm)
  • PATA-CDROM cable with one connector (18cm)
  • Two cables with three Molex and one floppy drive plug on each (43+12+12+12cm)
  • One cable with three Molex connectors (43+12+12cm)
  • One cable with three Molex connectors (28+12+12cm)
  • One cable with two SATA power connectors (48+12cm)
  • One cable with three SATA power connectors (49+12cm)
  • One cable with two SATA power connectors which is plugged into the PSU’s PATA connector (48+12cm)
  • One cable with three SATA power connectors which is plugged into the PSU’s PATA connector (48+12+12cm)
  • One cable with three fan connectors which is plugged into the PSU’s PATA connector (28+13+13cm)

So I'd say just hang it off some of those Molex plugs that already come with it.
363  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 5 Mining Rigs @ 4x 6870 cards @ 1.2GHs on: April 22, 2012, 04:20:09 PM
Rigs with 4x 6870s set up properly get 2.3 MH/w and are easy to keep cool.  I haven't touched my Win7 rigs for over 6 months.

he never said that he said hes getting 2mh/watt so lets say a 6850 consumes 150 watts and gets 300mh/s

and 4 x 300 mh/s =1200 mhs or 1.2 gh/s just like in the description

so quit putting words in his mouth

Ok now I'm confused.  Huh
364  Economy / Computer hardware / [DELETED] HD 5970s on: April 22, 2012, 08:23:45 AM
I think I'm going to start another rig, but I don't really want to wait for BFL Singles to ship.  That being said, does anybody have any 5970s they want to sell?  Air-cooled with reference fans plz!

Changed my mind, and I'm going a different route.
365  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 5 Mining Rigs @ 4x 6870 cards @ 1.2GHs on: April 22, 2012, 08:21:50 AM
@quattro, how are you getting an extra gh/s out of your 4x6870 rigs over me? What kind of setup are you running.

I think he was joking.  4x 6870s @ 2.3 GH/s is nearly 600 MH/s per card.

Edit: Woops, nvm. I misread MH/w as GH/s.
366  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 mining thread on: April 20, 2012, 08:15:41 PM
Without overvolting, and with lowering memclock. Yes.
4x5970s
Sempron CPU
optimized BIOS
usb drive running linux
~1050W AC at the wall.

Figure at 90% efficiency that is ~950W DC (which is what PSU is rated on not AC wattage).

Hmm, interesting, thanks!  I'm out of slots on my motherboard now though, so if I want to go 4x5970s, I'll have to swap out the MB too.  Do you have any recommendations?

Quick Q: Is a Corsair AX1200 enough to power four 5970s?
368  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2.5Ghz Macbook Pro -  Quick Sale! on: April 20, 2012, 04:03:29 PM
You pretty much gotta ship first.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Gox Spam Heads Up on: April 20, 2012, 03:59:28 PM
I got this one.  IIRC, the URL in the body of the message points to a .ru domain.

This pool is NUTS.  I'm not sure exactly how the mechanics work for payouts, I'm getting a good 15% more at this pool than any other pool I've tried (MtRed, DeepBit, EclipseMC).

372  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: FPGA's pricing themselves out of the market on: April 18, 2012, 08:45:16 PM
I ordered with BFL on Feb. 23 and still don't have a single.(Not a complaint) On that same day I ordered 8 7970s for $529 each and they were up and running two days later on the 25th. Each machine is getting 2.5GH/s so I added 5GH/s on the 25th. I believe those machines have been paid something like 150BTC. I am pretty happy with my choice to order GPUs when looking at the possible unknown with the reward cut.

How much power does each one of those 2.5 GH/s rigs suck down?
373  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Why all the interest in 5830s recently? on: April 18, 2012, 08:42:49 PM
There seems to be a lot of people wanting 5830s in the Marketplace.  Was there some new development that I missed or something?

375  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] High density mining rig on: April 18, 2012, 06:19:30 PM
I'm not saying I'm selling... but everything has a price.  What could you do for a 3x 5970 rig (2 of them in slots, the 3rd on a PCIe 1x extender, AX1200)?  It does a solid 2.2-2.3 GH/s @ 895-910W at stock clocks, and can dial back to around 1.69 GH/s @ 554W, or over 3 MH/j.  It could probably be even more efficient if I wasn't running a Phenom II x4 960T in it.

Mouse, you still there?!

Hi Yoch, yeah I'm still here.  That offer is very tempting, but I need my rig to play games.  I can't lives without my games Smiley
376  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7870 mining speed, over 430 Mhash/s ?! on: April 17, 2012, 09:14:58 PM
450 Watt - Total System Power Draw with 7870 Mining at 430 mhash/s
273 Watt - Total System Power Draw with 7870 in ZeroCore Power sleep

that would make 177 Watts for the 7870 alone!

Ouch Sad

Yes, you can pour loads of money into your "hobby" and not be allowed to deduct one red cent, but Caesar wants a piece of your first nickle of income.

So if you made 100 BTC last year and it's sitting in your wallet.dat, how much do you send to the IRS?  Do they even have a receiving address for BTC?

BTW, are you Shakaru?

An excellent question, indeed. I would consider buying this, but I need cryptographic proof that he is not shakaru first.

Shakuru is in Phoenix?
