3641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's the safest way to store BTC? on: January 23, 2014, 06:36:49 PM
I would recommend  going to bitaddress.org generating 7 or so private keys and split the bitcoins evenly among them, then download a offline QR code generator and generate a QR code for each address. print the codes off and hide them places or put them in a envelope. keep them like money (unless you lose alot of money)

So how is that secure? You still have to go online to spend the bitcoins. Also, how do you know that the bitaddress.org owner doesn't keep a record of all generated addresses and private keys?

Just beware of both of them.
3643  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Errupter (Is it worth?) on: January 23, 2014, 06:22:53 PM
Wait... Are they Block Erupter Blades or Block Erupter USBs? If they are Block Erupter blades, I offer BTC0.02 per unit.

Interesting site... So what do you earn from it?
3647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 48 hours and still unconfirmed? on: January 22, 2014, 09:29:00 PM
I suppose some pools are nice and take the transaction but reverses it...

Huh

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

I suppose some pools accepts the transaction, and sends it backwards. Otherwise it would be stuck forever in limbo.
3648  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Scrypt hashing power, paying 120% of LTC profitability on: January 22, 2014, 06:13:53 PM
Might I add, our best hour was 21/01/2014 at 21hrs, we had 1060% of LTC profitability.
3649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 48 hours and still unconfirmed? on: January 22, 2014, 05:48:01 PM
It is showing up other places - assuming it was 0.0750 BTC  going from 1JJ6QjNpE1DSr7x1wwtLh5TtCk5rm3fhvd to 17oUDTDPgZ961o1sasbYS1YrtWD7ha1UAu .  Is that correct?

It will in all likelihood go through eventually, but with no fee, and no confirmations there are no guarantees as to when.

If you are doing this in the future, it is recommended to always use a fee unless you trust the person or don't care about the length of time to confirm.

You are right about the addresses - and guess what happened!

The BTC was returned to the original senders address! Luckily I paid with PayPal and I am getting my money back..

Well, you are lucky, since the transaction actually got returned.

Why did it return? Must be the wrong destination address, I assume...

I suppose some pools are nice and take the transaction but reverses it...
3650  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Q2- Mining These Days COST YOU More than it GIVES on: January 22, 2014, 05:15:06 PM
even after you factor in hardware cost?

Yes. Although it will take some time to break even, it is still profitable. Or you could rent your rig to others, so you break even more quickly.
3651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazed how Bitcoin starting to catch up.. Watch this CoinMap on: January 22, 2014, 05:13:43 PM
Awesome, it growing quite a lot daily, although the rate could go up!
3652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 48 hours and still unconfirmed? on: January 22, 2014, 05:09:24 PM

Good luck on that, no fee means takes forever...

And actually forever, since it probably won't ever get accepted.

he died from bowel cancer miserable old sod always took the  piss out of me but now i have the last laugh i was just being nice to him until he passed.

im seriously considering buying at 30gh model all i have to do is wait and leave my pc on 24/7 so i may reap the rewards in the future... however spending £500-£2000 is a bit waste if it goes tits up.

Well, you obviously value money more than love. Would you give the money back to have him back if you could?
3654  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Scrypt hashing power, paying 120% of LTC profitability on: January 22, 2014, 05:06:46 PM

3656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e and my ID on: January 21, 2014, 11:27:33 PM
I withdrew $10k last summer, no id required - just destination bank details.

I've never sent them any money but I can understand why they're protecting against fraudulent deposits - they'd be nuts not to.
Of course. I assume they would ask you for ID only if you deposit. If you withdraw there shouldn't be any problem.
3657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transactions. How to solve this problem? on: January 21, 2014, 11:26:09 PM
Thanks for the replies.
No problem. We are here to help.
3658  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Scrypt hashing power, paying 120% of LTC profitability on: January 21, 2014, 09:29:31 PM
Thank you guys! I'm really happy that you're happy with the pool Smiley

Payout for 2014-01-20 (UTC) sent:

https://blockchain.info/tx/c4c9ffc0651065b7c909e5d21364ea82435241dbefe3a0ed76b0d5e177c51656

This was the last manual payout and tomorrow new automated payouts will start running, along with the new payout model.

The beta website with your stats and earnings won't show earnings for 2014-01-21 and further, as they are not paid using fixed 120% LTC rate. You will still see your current hashrate on the current beta website to make sure that everything works well, but please wait until tomorrow evening for the new website with new stats and earning reports. I will be finishing it tomorrow and will send it to you as soon as it's ready. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The new stats will be much more detailed and I believe you will like it! Smiley

Great work! I'm sure this will become an awesome pool, and I will continue mining at your pool!
3659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is it too late to get involved on: January 21, 2014, 09:23:58 PM
It isn't too late if all you want is to earn money. You can simply sell your hardware. I'm sure people want it. If you want to support the BitCoin Network, mine. If you want to earn money, buy low sell high.
