41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 09, 2012, 05:04:16 PM
Speaking of which, Matthew still appears to be showing up as Hero Member as well as a Scammer. theymos, is it possible to fix that or is it baked into the forum software somehow?

I can't easily remove that without modifying his post count.

Yes, but at least give him the scammer avatar.

What do you mean ? That does not exist.

42  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Bitscalper under new management. on: September 09, 2012, 05:01:50 PM

case closed without any comments?

What would you expect ? 20 years behind bars Roll Eyes

Necrobump is funny though ...
43  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I've just received my invitation to GPU Max!!! on: September 09, 2012, 04:27:26 PM
Im selling my GPUMax account if anyone is interested... Smiley

Wasn't that strictly taboo and not allowed by pirateat40 ?

Not trying to prevent your sale but wondering if you are able to sell it since the email cannot be changed in the interface ...
44  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: September 09, 2012, 04:21:49 PM
Short update from me.

Paying this in about 3 years now.

Raize, expect your money fully returned by 2015.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: September 09, 2012, 03:58:20 PM
Nice one mugu !

Will there be an article about this "prank" in the magazine ?

Fools and their money ... if somebody had 80K BTC they would be not handing it out here for free.

Matthew, how about asking somebody like organofcorti to calculate the wasted hours with which you trolled the community with this "bet" and could have done something productive with ?

I would be interested but make sure to include both your time and the bettors' time that was wasted ...
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: pirateat40's project with BZFlag tank battle game. [Message to bitlane] on: September 09, 2012, 03:24:14 PM

What is this so called "message to bitlane" ? Cheesy

I would also like an answer to organofcorti's question above about how he could monetize this operation.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a hackers dream on: July 19, 2012, 05:41:10 PM
Conclusion: In the Bitcoin world it is OK to steal, the blame will always be on the victim. A hacker can even use his real name and real address, and still no one cares. Blame and lawsuits are always on the victims...

Well done cpt. Obvious !

Until BTC is legal tender or recognised by the law / state as property nobody can do a damn thing about them getting stolen / hacked.

Try and tell the police somebody stole your WOW gold or monopoly money = BS.

The funny thing with Bitcoinica is : why no USD returned yet ? why no police report as hacking into computer systems is illegal ?

Smells funny to me.
50  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ Bonus PPS Pool - 101% PPS - Weekly Jackpot ] - Public Beta - OPEN on: July 19, 2012, 05:03:27 PM
Also after reading your proposal something is not clear here :

-regular miners get 101%

-investment miners get xxx% Huh

Is it the same and the only difference being the investments ?

Not going to mine as you have banned me but just trying to help you and other people wondering the same ...

My question earlier was more to the tune of "How protected / exposed are the investment miners to a pirate default ?" <- this affects everyone holding BTC not just a miner at your pool so I am genuinely curious.

Good luck with your venture otherwise !
51  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: July 19, 2012, 03:36:53 PM
I have better things to do than review the entire SQL dump for bitcoinconsultancy.com

How about replying to my question about intersango withdrawals?

For your convienience, I'll post it again here:

Quote
Patrick what's happening with the withdrawals?

Are they down until the 26th to the 30th?

Or are they down now until the some time between the 26th and 30th?

I am also worried about leaving any BTC / GBP on this exchange.

Someone needs to confirm they have received withdrawals in their UK bank accounts from these guys in the last days or so before I can trust them ...

I hate to do this but....

+1

No need to hate getting the truth out.

Much rather question authority than get scammed IMHO.

I really hope things do work out because Gox is not an option for me without a UK bank account. I don't want to pay wire fees etc.

I am not putting anything in there until this gets sorted out or something happens because the risk is immense.

If Bitcoinica got "hacked" how do we know that Intersango will not also get "pseudo-hacked" and we loose all our money as with the latter Huh
52  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Milestone crossing for the official bitcoin client on: July 19, 2012, 02:50:54 PM
The maximum block chain growth[1] is about 1GB per week.

[1] given 1MB max block size, which cannot be changed without a hard fork
This does not account for increasing hashrates or luck.

Hence "about"

Too many grammar Nazis on this forum ...

I just noticed the blk0002.dat myself and was wondering WTF is going on but it all makes sense now.

Use a good FS like ext4 and forget about Windblows trainwreck.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain.info anonimizer eats coins and behaves weird on: July 19, 2012, 01:55:14 PM
Sorry if I am stating the obvious here but consider this : maybe your coins were not clean and you have to pay the fee instead.

Nothing is 100% clean except new generated blocks.
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Theory on what pirateat40 is doing on: July 19, 2012, 01:45:17 PM
No way this is a ponzi guys.

He would not want to do anything illegal since his identity is public.

Oh wait ... "but Bitcoin".

Just hope GPUMAX coins won't be blacklisted or some other crap after this folds.

Carry on pirate !

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wendon Group, et al. on: July 19, 2012, 09:22:22 AM
At http://pastebin.com/Ya6iN8RT, you will not find a Wendon Group, but you will find a Wengon Group eight times. A purposeful misspelling?

This Share and Interest Exchange Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of April __, 24, 2012 by and among, the Bitcoinica Limited Partnership, a New Zealand limited partnership (the “Partnership”), Wengon Group Incorporated, a Barbados Corporation (the “LP Owner”) and limited partner in the Partnership, Intersango Ltd. (the “Company”) and Donald Norman, Amir Amir Taaki and Patrick Strateman, each an individual and the sole owners of the Company (the “Company Owners”).

At http://vessta.com/en/1002875230-WENDON-GROUP-INCORPORATED.html, you will find some relative information.

During the course of this thread, it will become clear that Tihan Seale and Wendon Group are one and the same from the get-go. I only wish that Matthew N. Wright would jump in at some point and provide us with a graph showing all the connections, as he once famously done prior with some other entity.

~Bruno~

Barbados in red.

Hmmm, looks like they are on the island already Cheesy

Forget the funny aspects : how is this impacting Intersango Huh is the bigger question !
57  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scam Contest, New Material on: July 19, 2012, 07:55:54 AM
Damn, how did I miss this Cheesy

its never to late to get a good scam going again.

Word !

I should probably put that in my sig Cheesy
58  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ Bonus PPS Pool - 101% PPS - Weekly Jackpot ] - Public Beta - OPEN on: July 19, 2012, 07:55:31 AM
so the investment miner balance will put into the BS&T ?

Now that is a very good question to which I also would like an answer.

I too am interested whether you are exposed at all to pirateat40 and his "bank".

Good luck with your venture Clipse !
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy bitcoins fast with paypal or visa card? on: July 18, 2012, 06:17:07 PM
Hey Stephen, thanks for that insightful post. Once you buy SSL using Paypal, how do you go about trading them for Bitcoins?

Thanks.
You can convert SSL to BTC within VirWoX.

What is SSL ?

You have found a way to buy SSL certificates with BTC directly Shocked

Or maybe you mean SLL ( Second Life Linden ).
60  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How come the Mining hardware comparison page is not updated recently? on: July 18, 2012, 05:44:59 PM
Because soon all these GPU will be worthless for BTC mining ... enjoy ASIC baby !!! Cheesy
