801  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining [GLBSE] - FPGA company 0.40BTC for 1.0435MH/s@0.0609W to be paid on: May 18, 2012, 05:42:23 PM
nice

I find your posts very insightful, detailed and full of knowledge senbonzakura.

I wonder how you manage this performance.

"Hmmm" Cheesy

Some pictures would be nice when you get a camera, matthewh3.

As I said, I have confidence in you but we need to see your setup at some point so we can see what we are investing in.

I've seen a cheap second hand Android phone with a 5MP camera but I don't get paid until next week.  My dad has a big digital SLR but he won't lend it me I'll try and get him to come round with it then email me the pics.  I will definitely put pics up of the new Rev4 boards when they arrive (I'll put something like "RSM" wrote on paper in the pic if you want?) so you'll then have a full week before the whole dividend doubles with proof and time to buy shares while there still under 0.40BTC.  As I can't see many people selling off their shares below 0.40BTC once were paying up to 0.0040BTC per share each week  The new boards should have shipped by this time next week so hopefully delivered and hashing away within two weeks.  Once we have sold enough shares I will get board #3 first then the RaspberryPi and 600W PSU but if my old PC dies before that time then we are major f@#ked  Undecided
I'll set up a live Xubuntu USB up in case the hard-drive dies (but it's not whining) tho if the PSU goes were knackered and the PSU fan was making a bit of noise a few weeks ago but stopped now.  I could get a reconditioned PC for less than £100 pretty quick I reckon tho would only have that kind of money even slightly possible to lay out once every two weeks.  I've just applied for a small loan which will take about four weeks to process and will get a new cheapo PC then.  So we'll then have a choice of two PC's as back up to run the boards in case RaspeberryPi died.

Are you located in London ? I have some PC parts and components on eBay or we can meet and I can do a discount etc.

BTW, where is the mass leak or the "hackers" are just FUDging with us ?
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 18, 2012, 12:21:32 PM
I have to chime in when you are talking about these minute amounts.

Funnily enough the only money I had in bitcoinica was the $1 bonus Cheesy

I sure as hell won't fill in some form that could go to the hackers again and compromise my info for 0.2 BTC.

I am just watching from the sidelines here in this thread because it impacts BTC and the price ( seems to have gone way up since the shorting at bitcoinica ).
805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA Rig Photos on: May 17, 2012, 09:25:29 PM
650W gold PSU, so it's running at ~73% rated power.
Router and hub use ~12W

I don't see a Ethernet to the router. Using wireless I presume ?

What is CPU load and does it not overheat from cgminer coordinating them BFLs ?
806  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Nvidia + ATI? on: May 17, 2012, 09:18:32 PM
Sorry for double post but Internet is lagging.

I can't delete double post so maybe moderator can do it ?

Thank you !

Which can work :

-Intel desktop usage ( crap GPU in CPU or mobo ) + excellent non-affected maximum ATI mining
-Nvidia desktop usage + excellent non-affected maximum ATI mining
-ATI crap integrated mobo GPU / GPU in CPU ( APU ) + excellent non-affected maximum ATI mining

Basically I want to have full ATI performance and no laggy desktop without affecting mining performance at all.

I want independent mining and desktop usage. One does not affect the other. Which Linux drivers is this possible with Huh

Switch to Windows and you can do all these.  Smiley

OK but I am forced to use Linux right now.

Which option do you think will be workable with Linux Huh

Thanks !
807  Economy / Trading Discussion / CoinURL not allowing refunds (split from Beware of scammers!) on: May 17, 2012, 09:14:40 PM
Yes I do, although there is a difference between an actual sending error
Perhaps I should lie about accidentally sending too much next time(?)

and you just not liking service and wanting your balance out.
I deposited more with the intention to use the rest if I was exceptionally pleased. There was a "Deposit" button, and a "Withdraw" button. I clicked "Deposit"; there was no information about not being able to withdraw on that page, so I deposited a little bit more than necessary, just in case I was exceptionally pleased. I can't say I am. I'm seeing a whole bunch of visits from fraudulent IP's in Russia, Ukraine, etc.

bulanula: Please keep the discussion civil and refrain from personal attacks.

I always try to stay calm ( hint : need to increase the medication dosage next time Cheesy ) but if giantdragon does not get scammer then I really am the idiot of the forum Undecided
808  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Icarus" - DisContinued/ important announcement on: May 17, 2012, 09:11:29 PM
Good luck selling your FPGAs. It's what I have been saying ALL along but some of you don't listen.

Once the new generation like Lancelot comes out then your Icarus becomes useless but now since mining is profitable it is OK but good luck selling Cheesy

I don't think they are _useless_ but "older generation" (a more appropriate term would be "older revision" or something like that) boards will get discounted typically. If there are certain physical changes to the new Lancelot board that make it more desirable than Icarus in spite of perhaps being bitstream compatible then no doubt miners would want the newer board and people selling Icarus boards will have to accept a lower price. It's the way the free market works.

That is what I meant. 28nm GPUs will have higher price and price retention compared to old 40nm GPUs like 5xxx.

Same with FPGAs and all chips. New technology is usually cheaper and faster than old tech.

I only unlocked it to update it and before I could relock it, Bitlane threw a Coinhunter hissy fit in his post.

Right....and we all know how deep I am invested in the Solidcoin/Microcash communities, finding it only right to defend them.

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS ?

You are about as bright as a burnt out light bulb and as predictable as a broken record.

Not exactly sure what your angle is.
You are correct though, I've never had any issues with you in the past and I know you aren't an SC sockie so you're justgoing on ignore.

Later loser

Am I a SC sockie ?

Mind if i answer? You're a troll. You will just take whatever place that is needed to piss off the highest possible amount of people. Why else would you have just got that Scammer tag? Wink

I VOTE THAT THE TAG BE CHANGED FROM SCAMMER TO ASSHOLE  Grin Grin Grin

Indeed, even theymos has said that "scammer is not very accurate / appropriate" but asshole fits just purrrfect !  Cheesy
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine ~ The Online Version on: May 17, 2012, 09:07:50 PM
What people don't seem to realise that since they are a UK business they can easily get us all screwed by declaring bankruptcy and since all payments were in BTC leave for the islands right now without anyone able to do anything.

However, I think it is very unlikely this is a scam. This is not BFL, you know ... Wink
811  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 4 x 7970 psu? on: May 17, 2012, 09:04:45 PM

812  Economy / Trading Discussion / CoinURL not allowing refunds (split from Beware of scammers!) on: May 17, 2012, 09:01:38 PM
Sorry, but I must agree with giantdragon on this one. Perhaps a reasonable resolution would be for the refund to happen just this once, and warnings about deposits be placed more prominently on the website. Although you really don't have a basis for a claim here in the first place.
Thank you for your opinion. Do you think that smart1985 had a basis for a claim in bulanula's case?

Yeah. Loving the hypocrisy right here man.

giantdragon does not give refunds yet he is not labelled as scammer.

I don't give them either yet I am labelled a scammer.

smart1985 ( complainant ) was donator.

In dragon's case was the complainant a donator ? I bet my ass he wasn't or giantdragon would have the scam in 5 minutes or less.

I also refuse to refund anything related to BTC. I tried to meet the service obligation and gave him 10 months ( what the guy paid for ).

If I get labelled as a scammer when customer does not accept my "no refunds" policy then why shouldn't giantdragon be treated the same ?

Oh right, everyone hates me ! Cheesy
813  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 17, 2012, 08:13:19 PM
Seems that Raize refuses to deal with this publicly for some reason ( says I am playing "games" ).

I will deal in private then Angry

Will Raize confirm here for the community to see or not ? I have to ask him that.

It seems he is the one playing "silly games" as he says because I don't see the hassle in him posting an address for everyone to be able to check I have paid / not paid.

814  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 17, 2012, 06:36:57 PM
wth you can download this forum?

Yeah. Heard about downloading the Internet but never about downloading the forum ...

If anyone can download the PMs then they are not "private" anymore, right ?

Still I think publicly is the way to do this and any other way is doubtful at best.
815  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 17, 2012, 06:02:48 PM
I honestly believe bulanula has absolutely no intention of paying. I have most recently asked for only the 22.5 BTC and for him to contact me via PM to take care of it and verify with Maged or lzsaver that he has paid. He is now falsely accusing me of wanting more, and I believe you are all doing the Bitcoin community a disservice by entertaining him.

There is a history of PMs with him showing I was very patient and working to help him restore his BTC-E account and facilitate the compensation. Worse yet, he was one of the individuals I helped bail out with the A1BITCOINPOOL debt, which makes me regret ever trying to be kind to the community. I'm not in this for profit, I'm in this to make Bitcoin look better and more legitimate. Unfortunately, individuals like bulanula work against such efforts.

I will merely continue to ascertain/verify what I believe is his identity in order to pursue eventual legal action when the time is appropriate and I can legally do so. He can continue to keep the scammer tag, and if he wants to resolve this he can do so via PM with myself, Maged, and lzsaver. You guys can stop PMing me with updates on what bulanula is saying in this thread now. I consider this issue closed even if the thread is not. Thanks for your time.

Just to make Bulanula shut up, can you post a repayment address here?

Yeah. The thing I find disturbing the most is that you want to avoid public scrutiny and instead you want to do this behind closed doors Huh

Anyone can delete PMs without any trace at all. You post address in PM then delete it and say "bulanula has not paid" and I am scammed and tagged too.

I want this publicly so everyone can see I have paid up. Otherwise no wonder I don't agree to paying you anything, Raize.

I think you are trying to scam me, honestly. Scamming a scammer does not make it OK, just so you know.

817  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Dead 7970 DD Fan Alternative on: May 17, 2012, 11:10:02 AM
I don't understand. Why not buy aftermarket cooler from Arctic Cooling Accelero Huh
You like to support the cheap production with replacing the fan on your own bill?

No. I think RMA is better but Arctic cooler is fantastic low temps and low noise.
818  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini Rig announcement by Butterfly Labs - 25gh/s on: May 17, 2012, 11:09:04 AM
Yes.

Sorry, I should have removed your quote as I meant to direct it to Bulanula.

If they don't provide a bitstream for MicroCash then you won't be able to mine them smartass !

Also, good luck mining things like scrypt on these crappy FPGAs Cheesy

If FPGA is so great then why nobody use it to mine LTC yet Huh

Because it's more profitable to mine Bitcoin and use it to buy LTC due to price difference  Grin

True but can it technically be done because I understand scrypt algo needs like 1024KB L1 cache memory or something which only CPU has ...

No, you can't.

This is because ATI computing goes through video driver. So Xorg must be loaded and running upon the ATI video driver. On the contrary, Nvidia computing doesn't need Xorg.

Damn it !!! So this means that you cannot use Nvidia for monitor / games / desktop usage while ATI is mining only ?

What about Intel integrated GPU in the CPU like Sandy Bridge ? What about ATI integrated graphics ( providing you stay in 8 GPU limit ) ?

Or maybe there is no way to have a crap GPU for desktop usage and all the rest powerful ATI cards mining Huh
