261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you call a coin where all the blocks are generated in the first block ? on: June 25, 2012, 12:27:39 PM
Bulacoin Wink

1 coin is made and that is divisible to 8 decimal places Cheesy
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So sad to see !! on: June 25, 2012, 12:27:09 PM
You don't really know much about your target audience do you?

Exactly. These are the people running CPU botnets ...
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nurturing AlternaCoins on: June 25, 2012, 12:24:01 PM
Don't know why but I see this as a warning to coblee and LTC abou Luke coming to attack the chain Cry

Hope it does NOT happen because that is NOT cool and anti competitive BS just like the government and status quo like ...
264  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What will happen to people with non-BFL FPGAs (once ASIC arrives) on: June 25, 2012, 12:04:54 PM
GPU miners will have to look for someone who will pay for their GPU power for use in other services.

FPGA miners left to hope that a new Bitstream will be released and their FPGA's will support other currencies, i.e. Litecoin, and mine them instead.

Why not also use GPU to mine LTC Huh Why only FPGA ?

That's right, because LTC can't be sustained like BTC by Silk Road !

Everybody try and jump to LTC GPU mining and see what happens : LTC price goes to 0.0001 just like all the others Cry
265  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The mining market balance on: June 25, 2012, 11:51:53 AM
As for the reward drop; the only real argument for that to increase price is lower inflation. That may have an impact, but if it does, it will not be in January 2013.
The reward drop will impact the price even before it happens, since speculators will buy in preparation for the price increase.

100% correct.

I have seen it myself with SolidCoin. It works everytime.

JUST wait and SEE the panic when Dec comes around and 25 BTC is made not 50 BTC.

This is huge if you actually think about it ... price will surely rise in that period.
266  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 25, 2012, 11:41:45 AM
Giga is smart as hell : just like BFL is forcing the current FPGA buyers to spend even more on BFL so is giga forcing the current bond holders to upgrade for a fee so he gets even more $$$

Well played, gigavps !

Hats off to you.

I still believe pirate = gigavps = BFL = government but that is conspiracy theory so disregard it Wink !
267  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 840 MHash on 5970 - Good or Bad? on: June 25, 2012, 11:32:34 AM
I had mine overclocked above 800mh/s in the winter with my pc case in the window. Once the first hot day came around I burned out 2 gpu's. I'm still waiting on diamond to mail them back. Now I try to keep gpu temps at 60-65. A new gpu can run at 70-80c for a while but its not worth it. Especially if ASIC's are coming out. If the video card is not fit for gaming it will be worthless at the end of the year.

Great. You just made me realize this. Hopefully all my cards are good gamers and working 100%.

How do you recommend testing for gaming worthiness in Linux only ?

I don't use linux, I was unable to overvolt 5970's with it. Running benchmark tests is the best way to know if its working. A lot of cards seem work great for mining but don't work as main displays anymore.

There is your problem.

OVERVOLT with 5970 = facepalm.

With those cards you shouldn't even ATTEMPT to overclock / overvolt because the cooing system is already on the edge at stock speeds.

I am confident my 5870s kept below 70 at all times and VRM below 82 at all times and with proper RAM cooling will have no problem passing Furmark or something.

Just make sure the fans are OK though !

cuz you have taken 12 weeks

BFL have taken more like 89 days for some folks on the forums.

Look it up.

Bad service is rampant in this community Undecided
269  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 24, 2012, 11:18:49 PM
Don't see why all the whining.

ENJOY the 110% PPS for a while doods !!!

Cheesy
270  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitcoin ASIC FPGA Time Machine on: June 24, 2012, 11:03:51 PM
Well played, bitlane.

You are truly a master !

Where do I send my preorder ( making sure to use a non reversible payment method like bank transfer or BTC, because I want it to hurt - no hommo Cheesy) ?

How can I get this FIRST not after some folks also order it !

Most importantly of all, can it also act as a praying amplifier at the same time ( PrayerMax 5000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvM-6iiCFcw ) Huh

I won't buy it otherwise because I need my prayers amplified Tongue

When will see new ati drivers? I made 700-750Mh with my Sapphire 7970,  but I think it can do much more with better drivers, or maybe new version of Diablominer.

PLEASE share how you get 750 because nobody seems to be able to get that much normally !

Thanks !

"The greatest thing that could hurt me is a sudden spike in BTC price"

I completely forgot about that quote! It does make sense with waltmarkers' theory!

And there I was sat, thinking 70% of my posts are rubbish Wink
274  Other / Meta / Re: Separate messages ASIC and FPGA already! on: June 24, 2012, 10:06:29 PM
Or even give BFL its own sub-forum...so we have something to watch when the shit-storm ensues.

I agree with this even more Wink

Get your popcorn ready folks !

Can we please have an ASIC forum !
275  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust on: June 24, 2012, 10:05:27 PM
I kind of get where you two are going but why was he so scared of a rise in USD prices if so ?

"The greatest thing that could hurt me is a sudden spike in BTC price" - so he does anything to avoid that rally to $10 by Dec by dumping as much as he can onto it.

Makes sense, no ?

Like I said previously, it is odd that benz asked for the ban hammer.

Either
1)HE has some power to take out bitcointalk.org
2)He has unpaid loan's, banning would result in by screwing over the lenders
3)His account has been taken over by a twit

I can bet on this.

Get donator status, do some loans, get some trust, lend a ton of BTC, screw everybody over and run.

I can bet it is the same person too, doing all this stuff with some good PS skills.

Go look at his threads/posts in the marketplace. He's been buying hardware on loans for weeks now.

I'm curious how far in the hole he is.

Probably $10k if not more.

Nice to see another shakaru type guy.

Bulanula ain't got nothing on them lot Undecided

278  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: It's time for an ASIC subforum. on: June 24, 2012, 03:49:02 PM
Though even better would be a "speculative hardware" subforum.  Anything not available for third-party verification goes there.

I think that this would be the best idea going forward.  It would really clean up a lot of the current sub-forums.  Take all the 7990 stuff, Lancelot, almost everything BFL related and shove it all there.

Most sensible idea YET.

Go for it !

 Huh Huh Huh

Is that Lancelot ?
279  Other / Meta / Re: Separate messages ASIC and FPGA already! on: June 24, 2012, 03:11:36 PM
Agreed, ASIC is not the same as FPGA, its time to make a sub-category ASIC!

Ditto !
280  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Quality Control on: June 24, 2012, 02:53:04 PM
What is this thread about ?

Is he the hacker ?

Where is the mass leak ?

Why is he named "Ben David" just like the guy that scammed Interscamgo of 512 BTC ?

Strange stuff here ... admins what do you think ?

Donator gets ban ... unlikely !
