Has anyone here that did a bank wire pre-order on the new ASIC based products receive an email yet with wire instructions?

I've been waiting for almost 60 hours on this.

Lol

Maybe they found out that bank wire can be charged back ?

Dunno, but seems likely.

They are "supporting Bitcoin" so no worries there when they deliver.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My initial Radeon HD 7970 mining benchmarks on: June 26, 2012, 12:15:54 PM
They all basically produce 0.6 MH/s per Mhz engine clock speed.

Nice, so at 1250 MHz you should get 750 MHash/s ?

That seems about right. On DiabloMiner on my 7970 at 1125 I get 675.

The bigger question now is : how many reference 7970s ( or the new better binned GHz editions ) can reach 1250 MHz without overvolt ?

I dont get this binned GHZ edition shit. Mines a ref design factory overclocked to 1010mhz, and I got it like 4 months ago. It happy cranks away at 1125mhz at stock volts.

You don't get marketing ?

Cheesy

GHz edition is supposed to make it "cool" to the noob gamers and convince them that 7970 is comparable to GTX 580.

When it clearly isn't ...
243  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL ASIC Preorder Survey! on: June 26, 2012, 12:14:31 PM
Sorry - results will be shared soon!  I didn't have any way to show the results automatically at the end of the survey though.  And I need to clean up the entries too.  But when I have time, I will share.  Wink

I want to see results too Angry
244  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL FPGAs in temporary residence while waiting for ASICs ? on: June 26, 2012, 12:07:39 PM
With asic rigs shipping out in 3 months there will probably be a few prototypes lying around for the finishing touches on the design of the aluminum cases etc. You could just mine on one in house and direct the equivalent hash power at the purchasers of the mini rigs. That way you wouldn't have to tote them around and everyone would be happy.

Who pays the electricity and maintenance costs ?

246  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 26, 2012, 11:41:34 AM
Is it just me thinking : either this "hacker" is a total dumb idiot or it was an inside job ...

Why no "mass leak" crap released yet to cause huge panic ?

Why no database release to flood claim process full of bogus entries ?

Why is the "hacker" so "stupid" ?

Why no police report ?

Why has he not filled the claim process full of bogus claims since he has the databases and wants to do it for the "lulz" and destroy Bitcoinica and the chance of it being restarted ?

Seems dodgy to me ...

Happy to see people getting SOMETHING back but not happy about the "hacking" incident which still is ambiguous.
247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitForce SC - full custom ASIC on: June 26, 2012, 11:37:38 AM
Not sure if this has been answered yet or not but when will you start accepting paypal for pre-orders I need to upgrade and the only way i personally feel comfortable is with paypal and through my credit card?

Why do you want to scam the BFL merchants by chargeback Huh

Bad !

Use BTC and bank wire only so you can get screwed hard !
248  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BFL and the law. on: June 26, 2012, 11:29:17 AM
They are definitely, flagrantly violating FTC rules as seen here.

http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

I still can't find anything about selling products that haven't been designed yet.

Failing to conform to these rules looks expensive.    Wink

Quote
Why You Should Comply with the Rule

Merchants who violate the Rule can be sued by the FTC for injunctive relief, monetary civil penalties of up to $16,000 per violation (any time during the five years preceding the filing of the complaint), and consumer redress (any time during the three years preceding the filing of the complaint). When the mails are involved, the Postal Service also has authority to take action for problems such as non-delivery. State law enforcement agencies can take action for violating state consumer protection laws.

Apart from this, your failure to ship on time, or your failure to notify your customers promptly about delays and to obtain their consent to the delays, or your failure to make full and prompt refunds when your customers do not consent to delayed shipment, can adversely affect your business by discouraging repeat purchases. Accordingly, most businesses regard compliance with the Rule as simply good business practice.

Nobody cares.

Funny world we live in ... government never respects the law ... they are above it !

I don't think his account was hacked.

Funny how his last post was "oh nooess the admins are coming" Cheesy

Looks like they did come after all Grin

Why would he claim he was the hacker Huh

Strange ...

251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1397 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, Port 80 Mining, No Invalid Blocks on: June 26, 2012, 10:59:45 AM
Alright, not going to call the poll over yet, but I've been able to get a good gauge of which features to implement first.  Hopefully some of them are done soon, but there may be some delays.  I'm currently working very hard with a few others to write a new bitcoin mining protocol to prepare pools and mining software for the possibility (however remote it is, I still don't trust BFL) of ASIC mining.  Tonight we've nearly finished an outline for the new protocol, which should completely change the mining landscape.

Bandwidth will be significantly reduced for miners and the pool, and a miner should be able to support 256 TH/s+ with just one getwork/minute.  That number can be increased exponentially multiple times if the protocol needs to be extended, and the handshake will allow it to be dynamically increased if miner software supports it.

I have said this multiple times already.

The getwork protocol is rubbish and flawed.

No need to change size of nonce or some other stuff.

Get a new protocol in place is the best option here.

Make sure it is resilient to crappy network connections and does not overload cheap routers etc.

Good work eleuthria !

Did anyone receive payment or are you all just trolling.

Very unlikely pirate won't pay ... he is very prompt with such things.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reducing the wealth concentration of Bitcoin on: June 25, 2012, 11:35:56 PM
I love this, you can only buy miners with BTC and bankwire, so everyone gives Bitcoin away, BFL sells it all pushing down the price and forcing GPU miners out of the market, then 8 months later the difficulty increases exponentially as they "test" their ASIC on Inaba's pool, then they release it first to GigaVPS, who hypes up how "awesome" it is and single handedly mines a huge portion of the 3100btc/day till the next difficulty readjustment.

Then everyone after two weeks more who gets their devices finds their ROI is about 10 years. GG.

Very wise. I agree with this 100%. People don't have any idea what they are getting themselves into now.

Better buy BTC than buy BFL mining gear.

If BTC goes kaboom then both will be WORTHLESS. Nobody needs double SHA256 ASIC crap.

But the difference is : buying BTC outright you have much more chance to make a huge $$$ when drop comes in Dec and BTC prices rise like mad.

But disregard me, I can't wait to see the SHEEP get burned again, again and yet again !
254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My initial Radeon HD 7970 mining benchmarks on: June 25, 2012, 11:21:45 PM
well, clocked near 1300 core. Using diablominer

Doubt it is stock clocks.

Card will soon die unless you got proper hardcore cooling Undecided
255  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What will happen to people with non-BFL FPGAs (once ASIC arrives) on: June 25, 2012, 01:59:53 PM
GPU miners will have to look for someone who will pay for their GPU power for use in other services.

FPGA miners left to hope that a new Bitstream will be released and their FPGA's will support other currencies, i.e. Litecoin, and mine them instead.

Why not also use GPU to mine LTC Huh Why only FPGA ?

That's right, because LTC can't be sustained like BTC by Silk Road !

Everybody try and jump to LTC GPU mining and see what happens : LTC price goes to 0.0001 just like all the others Cry

Because hopefully there is something more profitable to do with GPUs than mine Litecoin Smiley

ATM that is BTC but after reward drop and ASIC anyone mining BTC on GPUs is totally insane.

Where is this GPU "saver" I am waiting for it for long ...

257  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [SOLD OUT] BFL Jalapeno Lottery - Win a 3.5 GH/s Mining ASIC! (0.25 BTC/ticket) on: June 25, 2012, 01:05:27 PM
If anyone has any suggestions for a second lottery and how to improve it, let me know.

I'm considering increasing the total intake slightly for the next one. I realised Bitcoin price shifting 10% would actually put me into an operating loss with this lottery, and it's moving more quickly than I find comfortable recently (I think it's down about 6% on 36 hours ago).

Could potentially recompensate this by doing a 2nd place draw on the second block, for the difference between the intake and the cost of the Jalapeno, less about 2.5 BTC operating fee. This way if Bitcoin remains stable or increases in value, I don't feel like I'm gouging profit or asking punters to take all the risks.

What do you guys think?

Can you do a lottery for a SC single or mini rig ?

Thanks !
258  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 25, 2012, 12:54:18 PM
Giga is smart as hell : just like BFL is forcing the current FPGA buyers to spend even more on BFL so is giga forcing the current bond holders to upgrade for a fee so he gets even more $$$

Well played, gigavps !

Hats off to you.

I still believe pirate = gigavps = BFL = government but that is conspiracy theory so disregard it Wink !

If A=1, B=2, etc. then
PIRATE = 15 + 8 + 17 + 1 + 19 + 4 = 64
GIGAVPS = 6 + 8 + 6 + 1 + 21 + 15 + 18 = 75

You will notice the difference is 11.

9/11.

11 days ago, Gigamining was trading over 1.1 The same price as PPT.C. Pirate's code is 64. C=64. A machine favored by Hackers for it's versatility.

Also notice that there are 5 mHash/share for each GIGAMINING bond. GIGAMINING's code is 75. 75 divided by 5 is 15 -- which is the current valuation of a mining bond -- 15 bitcents per share.

GOVERNMENT = 6+14+21+4+17+13+12+4+13+19 = 123.

Easy as 123.

64 + 75 - 11 = 128. C=128. Commodore 128. The next machine in the series after the C=64. This will all make sense in a moment when I tie everything together.

Notice C=128. There are 28 days in 1 period of pirate dividends. GIGAMINING is 64, and pays out about 6% over 4 weeks. This is the first hard clue that PIRATE = GIGAVPS. Also note that the moon, which is represented by the cycle of 28 days per pirate dividend (PPT) has 13 months per year. I do not know how this fits in precisely but it obviously has something to do with the number of people involved in PIRATE and GIGAVPS. Perhaps another researcher can supply the missing link. I would start by considering the number of outstanding shares divided by 123+9/11.

Please, this is urgent. I have given you the tools now it is up to you to chip away the statue and reveal the TRUTH.

Very funny. All will be revealed at the end of the game ...
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of year price prediction on: June 25, 2012, 12:50:22 PM
Above $10 for sure folks.

It is inevitable ... people hoarding. Reward dropping, ASIC coming showing huge faith in BTC system and its viability etc.
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bubble has popped, slow decline to $3 on the way on: June 25, 2012, 12:46:29 PM
As much as I like mem and his posts against BFL I can seriously call BS on this.

With reward drop coming $10 is inevitable sometime this year or Jan 2013.
