GT had no answer against the pace of Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande. These guys are not multi-million dollar buys like Starc or Cummins. But still they did their job today.
It was more of scoreboard pressure on GT that made those pacers look good. Let's look at 15 Men's squad

The one with bold font will be a sure shot for every match, given they are fit unless there are some injuries or they are expecting any rest against any weak teams. Now tell me where will you fit the Rinku in this 15-men's squad? That's good squad you have made, as long as Pandya and Jadeja are included that's enough for all rounder slots imo, so bowling all rounder's slot can be given to Rinku, of course in match he will come prior to Pandya and Jadeja. Regarding wk slot, I also think it's KL who is going to get the wk slot, on alternative candidates you mentioned I personally think they have 0 chance. Plus, What's difference between seam all rounder and bowling all rounder? |

GT is done for, 17 RR, Jesus! Sai Sudarshan is more of test/odi player, he was holding his wicket well but desperately needed someone big hitter on other side to keep up with RRR.
Miller looked completely out of touch today.

GT, CSK, MI matches are always exciting and when matches are between themselves it's icing on the cake.
Today we have GT vs CSK, IMO CSK has upper hand here as they have supreme batting depth and are more likely to give huge score/chase a big one, however their bowling sucks big time— it's bad luck for them that Pathirana is injured.
I'm expecting good competition whoever wins.
True. I was looking forward to this particular match since GT is seeking revenge while CSK is looking to continue their recent winning streak. Am expecting GT to win this one and break the home ground winning streak. Also, Pathirana being injured isn't really a big deal since he has been out of form for quite sometime now. Group stage matches can't be a revenge for a finale. Regarding Pathirana, idk about form, IPL and other match forms are quite different.  When he plays in IPL and doesn't perform good then I'll believe he's out of form. |

It's likely Gill, Jaiswal, Rohit, Kohli, Surya who are going to make it, out of these Rohit has already been declared as T20 wc squad captain.
~cut~ Gill won't find a place in the Playing XI because Jaiswal and Rohit are set for the opening slot, he can become a backup opener though but competition is tough. Has Gill got any chance as one down batsman? |

Dream11 is doing better IPL promotion than IPL itself and their ads are actually engaging & funny, they do get repetitive if seen frequently but it doesn't change the fact that you feel entertained when you watch'em first few times. Hopefully, they will keep pushing out new stuff instead of keep giving mouthful of same.

Still the target is easy for RCB standard but need a couple of decent partnership to win this match.
176 target was defendable, whether RCB can chase score or not heavily depends on their star players (Faf, Kohli, Maxwell and now I'd also Green to the list), out of which Kohli performed good yesterday, had Bairstow taken that first over catch and had Kohli departed early, RCB would have come under huge pressure and likely would have lost the game. Shikhar Dhawan the Punjab captain has been dropped from national team in all formats for over a year and it's good to see him performing in IPL. He might be selected in T20 team is he performs well in this IPL.
There is no chance for Shikhar to get selected in t20wc squad, there is already tough competition for top order. It's likely Gill, Jaiswal, Rohit, Kohli, Surya who are going to make it, out of these Rohit has already been declared as T20 wc squad captain. BTW, I really missed Surya in MI game yesterday. |

I feel making Hardik as a captain has created rift within the MI and when there is lack of unity there is potential for downfall. It would have been a different thing had it was Rohit who himself decided that Hardik should be a captain and asked fans to support him. Cummins and Starc performed like crap and were overhyped as expected. There are extremely few cases of big budget players actually living up to their prices in the IPL so far based on my observations. Which few players if I may ask? IMO there is no way even player himself can justify prices which these two are sold for. I'm sure they try their best to be 'worth it' but it's just not possible and it's just lapse from bidders to pay such hefty prices. |
