402  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 03, 2014, 11:42:46 AM
Update: P2Pool.org

This morning we temporarily redirected to http://p2pool.org to http://minefast.coincadence.com

On Monday September 8, it will be redirected to the new p2pool.org site.

The temporary redirect should give legacy p2pool.org Bitcoin miners time to reconfigure their equipment before the new site is launched.

The new p2pool.org will not include a public node, however it will include resources and tips for finding a nearby node to mine on if you choose not to set up your own.
Thanks for the move against public node on p2pool.org.
Please also host (or link) information on how to setup p2pool on your own PC/server.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: September 02, 2014, 09:13:56 PM
You are right.
It's just a redirect.
We need a shorter link, easier to remember.
You could make one, if you wish.
Im fine with a redirect/frame aslong they dont change the donation addresses or impose that they are the owners Smiley
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: September 02, 2014, 02:58:15 PM
Is it normal with these kinds of bugs/glitches on cryptsy?

Clearly the price never reached that point, my buy order was not excecuted.
yes, it is cratpsy. avoid if u can
Well I need to go where there is volume. Any better suggestions?
Sry, im not trading ANC currently so i dont know which exchange has "good" volumes. Check our wiki for a list of exchanges.

407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: September 01, 2014, 03:24:19 PM
github/djm34/ccminer updated with latest code:

* improved hashrate on m7
* fixed --help in cpu-miner.c (thanks to epsylon3 from irc #ccminer)
* added average+statistical uncertainty on average (the stastical error (gaussian error) tells how significant is the quoted average and depends on the number of shares, both are pretty much useless in solo unless there is a huge instamine period) (*)
* some minor change in keccak256
* added -F to m7 (please don't use on 1gh, it increase the number of rejected share)

(*) I don't think it is the best way to calculate the average hashrate as it doesn't take into account period of time without share... but only the recorded hashrate at the time of the discovery of a share. I need to figure out something a bit different.
The code is based on cayars implementation with some modifications and implementation of the standard deviation.

Regarding the standard deviation, this one varies in 1/sqrt(#shares) so it should decrease with time showing that the average is becoming more and more relevant (unless there are large variation to which the standard deviation is sensitive).

still have to update cudamining (almost there  Grin)
cudamining updated

Code:
gcc -std=gnu99 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.  -msse2  -fopenmp -pthread -fno-strict-aliasing  -DSCRYPT_KECCAK512 -DSCRYPT_CHACHA -DSCRYPT_CHOOSE_COMPILETIME   -g -O2 -MT ccminer-cpu-miner.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/ccminer-cpu-miner.Tpo -c -o ccminer-cpu-miner.o `test -f 'cpu-miner.c' || echo './'`cpu-miner.c
cpu-miner.c:22:17: fatal error: cmath: No such file or directory
 #include <cmath>

already tried to change cmath to cmath.h, no luck :/ ubuntu 14.04 looks like it's c++ only so gcc doesnt work.
You need libstdc++6-...-dev, according to your build chain you've setup.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: September 01, 2014, 01:12:48 PM
You are not allowed to use cudaminer/ccminer in your program as its GPL2/GPL3.
GPL prevents you from using source code from a GPL application and put it in another application with non-GPL license. As I explained already, Awesome Miner is NOT using any source code from open source projects.

Awesome Miner is simply executing (or connecting to the API's provided by) ccMiner.exe and Sgminer.exe, and that is fully allowed and doesn't break any GPL licenses.

For example: A user is running ccMiner.exe on one PC and Sgminer.exe on another PC. Now the user want all features provided by Awesome Miner, so the user go ahead and download the free version of the software. Then they simply point Awesome Miner to execute their existing ccMiner.exe and Sgminer.exe. In case of Sgminer, they can also connect to the API using a TCP connection. This is not in conflict with GPL.

ACK, in this case consider donating a small amount to the developers. unless your that greedy Wink
I've considered that. But keep in mind that 90-95% of the Awesome Miner users runs the free version, so I'm already giving away many hundred development hours to the community for free.
Still, the original GPL authors did 100% for free, so if you donate a few coins (dosnt mean you have to continously donate) it would only be fair.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: September 01, 2014, 11:31:11 AM
Anyone interested in selling any ANC direct? Not much liquidity on any of the exchanges yet
In case you end up buying from an exchange, dont use craptsy. they have created invalid txs which i have to mine now...
410  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: September 01, 2014, 07:48:10 AM
First: I'm very sorry for my English! Second: Sorry if I post my question in a wrong place.

I have a Piperwallet and I want to add into it the code to generate "Choco-paper wallets". I meant paperwallets for the chococoin altcoin.

I know that I have to handle the code of the vanitygen's commands to adjust the properly generations of the privkey and pubkey of the chococoin.
I looked for some examples and I understood all of them. But when I try to do the same with the chococoin something goes wrong.

If I do a Pub/Priv address generation for Dogecoin:

Code:
./vanitygen -X 30 D

and I get valid Pub/Priv addresses:

Quote
Difficulty: 1
Pattern: D
Address: D65ggd5gVVQTy27PvAWV6efZ4F89cz6wYd
Privkey: 6JCejZtYD4PBququxsDG2BgQo1xLL1EvJa3sLDr8KE3TSLVoT5B

But if I try to do the same to generate a valid Pub/Priv couple of addresses for the chococoin it fail:

Code:
./vanitygen -X 16 7

Quote
Difficulty: 1
Pattern: 7
Address: 7c6LDvfnyMYJE126HYNrYUuxvT4euDcUwQ
Privkey: 5qejeCS5BaV2jHRzGzdFceBvgFafN53mbdZmNt2uXdjWb4Vmn5S

Because the privkey of a chococoin address must begging with 8.

What is that I'm doing wrong?

Thank for any help.
Are the privkey of said coin compressed or normal ones?
411  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: September 01, 2014, 07:46:46 AM
The decimal code for an address that starts with 8 is 17, 18 or 19; not 16.

Check these out.

In any case, this thread is moving on, I'm gonna unsubscribe. If anyone has any further relay network questions, dont hesitate to reach out via bitcoin-peering@my full name.com
You should create a own thread for it.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: September 01, 2014, 06:48:18 AM
No, it's more disappointing people need to do that to get paid at all. We all know 99% of people don't donate.
actually what is disappointing also is that de sg/cg/dev don't get anything because donation is very limited
I don't want to get into an endless debate about open source vs closed source, but here we have the problem. First everyone expect all software to be available for free, then the same people agree that donations gives very very little.

For Awesome Miner, it's not 100% of the users that pay for the software, it's maybe 5% or 10% because most people use the free version. For donation based software it might be 1% paying users. For software without any free version, it's 100% paying users. I think it should be up to the developer to decide which alternative to use, and I went for the 5-10% alternative. But I don't complain on people that would go for the 100% paid alternative.

So basically it is a double ripoff of dev assets as the guy won't even send a dime to the developpers who wrote these softwares which without them he wouldn't be able to sell anything.
Again, even if Sgminer or ccMiner would cost money to use, I would still be able to provide people with either the free or paid version of Awesome Miner. Now Sgminer & ccMiner don't cost any money and uses donations instead, and if the donations are too small, maybe it's time to change to another model instead.

Look at the Linux market for example. Linux is free and open source, but there are plenty of 100% commercial closed source applications that cost money that run on Linux. Are they all bad? Or is it that they simply add value and customers are willing to pay for that extra value?

And all that using open source code made by the very people in this forum, seriously?... No thanks.
One more time: Awesome Miner doesn't include any source code from ccMiner, Cgminer, Sgminer or any other open source project.

You are not allowed to use cudaminer/ccminer in your program as its GPL2/GPL3.

Just noticed something else funny.... placing trades on cex.io for selling ANC, they won't let a value be larger than 0.01....must be pessimistic  Shocked

That will change, they did the same kinda thing on IXC when first opening up trading, people didn't put in enough zeros on their buy orders...haha
Is cex.io this important? i always saw it as scam due to what they sold before (no more cloud mining scam?).

With the exception of CryptoNote no other anon coin offers even a remote chance at real anonymity.  Nothing but gimmicks.

I'm pretty stunned at how many people are paying big money for CrapCoins for gimmicks like DARK, BitcoinDark, etc...

What about the implementation of zero coin. I've heard that holds the real promise of anonymity
Both Zerocoin and Zerocash are abject trash until they demonstrate that the necessary key can be created in a trustless manner. I doubt that is possible. Even if it is, there will always be a degree of doubt. The consequences of such a key being retained and misused would be disastrous. Why even take the risk when there are other solutions without this issue? Perhaps zero knowledge proofs will have some applications, but a cryptocurrency is not one of them.

lol, what are you shilling for? Anoncoin is using RSA-UFO for a 100% trustless setup.

Like I said, other solutions won't have any doubts regarding loopholes . I wouldn't touch any currency utilizing zero knowledge proofs with a ten foot pole.
If you dont understand something and if your scared, dont blame it on the technology. This is your fault after all.
Ok, as an example let's consider ring signatures. A solution that provides cryptographically guaranteed anonymity without the risk of keys that can create unlimited coins. Who in their right mind would prefer Zerocoin/Zerocash? Let's use a gas tank in a car as an analogy. Would you prefer a gas tank that has a hole, which has a metal plate welded over it, or one without any hole to begin with? The metal plate should theoretically prevent leaks, but who would choose it over a tank with no hole to begin with?
Valid arguments Smiley

The risk of creating unlimited coins exist aslong its not properly implemented or there is a failure @ creating the RSA UFO. I wouldnt prefer zerocash because its centralized and those ppl can create unlimited coins w/o proof they did, which unlike in Zerocoin isnt the case.
Only after its implemented and tested we will know more about this, otherwise it will be only theoretical. Nobody said you have to buy ANC and use ZC. If you/we/whoever isnt willing learn from mistakes and dares to make mistakes, then we all would get really really stupid.

Good to see some well done criticism!

As an update, alot of invalid TXs got mined by me, seems someone was waiting for some huge amount of ANC from craptsy:

http://ancblockchain.com/block/976247b1d752cc051539152fbdad062754ccac176694058bf1345bc21ddc6c93

Cry I wished so much it was "a702d4f6530ec40e3bde6b14f24511b222cb8fb2ef88e721d26f35fea57d0d91"

still isn't mined it seems. It's 7 Days now. I mean O_o how stuck are these Blocks?
Not stuck, craptsy created "invalid" TXs which are against the rules to be included in blocks by default, probably due to greed so they can pay less fee. For the BTC network this works as other ppl do the same as i do.
Also i dont really have that much hashrate, so it takes a while.
Currently there are 84 unconfirmed TXs, il continue to create those blocks until all the TXs are gone.
For the future, stop using craptsy, i wont do this over and over again becase they are too stupid and violate the basic rules.

PS: i have your unconfirmed TX, therefore it will be sooner or later included into one of my blocks.

Code:
$ anoncoind  getrawmempool | grep a702
