401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 10:22:41 AM
Hi,

There are always things that we are passionate about doing, such as video games, football, basketball, and sports in general, meaning that everyone has something that excites them and makes them want to do.
Like others, I get very excited when I sit down, take my phone, and start my bets. This does not mean that I am addicted, but rather I find it more comfortable and I have more fun.

Does gambling excites you? What motivates you, winning or just the fun in it ?

yeah, just like you, I also get excited every time I place a bet especially in online casinos and lotteries because when it comes to those, your skills are not required, it seems that we just rely on luck and the possibilities that we will win, so when I bet I am always excited about the outcome of my session, whether I will win or not. Whether my instincts are right or not. What really motivates me to gamble? Of course the money, the amount that can be won and at the same time, it gives me comfort because I only gamble when I have free time or I want to relax my brain away from work and social media.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: March 28, 2024, 09:57:48 AM
Gambling can never be for fun. People may play gambling for fun at first but once they play for fun they become so addicted to gambling that if they lose huge amount of money in gambling then they go into depression all they can do. We all should learn from this incident that gambling can never bring happiness and peace in one's life, so one should always refrain from such gambling so that his life and family will be better. Gambling is like a deadly cancer. Once gambling becomes an addiction, people cannot get out of it, so they should stay away from gambling as much as possible.
Well, I asked some of my friends who are new to the gambling world and questions about their experience. They are saying "We're just having fun". That seems natural for the new gamblers as their first impression is that gambling is for fun which is indeed right but what it goes wrong is when they can't control the temptation and badly fall into addiction.

Honestly, gambling is not a bad thing to do but because we fall into greediness and the wants to become rich instantly, that changes our mindset, and take gambling as a serious thing when in fact, it was just for fun.

Basically those who are new to gambling usually play gambling for fun but at a time when they become addicted to gambling they have an addiction to how they can earn money through gambling. Whenever it gets into their heads that we will make money by gambling, once they lose the money they become violent to get the money back. Once they become addicted to gambling then they themselves do not understand how they became addicted to gambling. If they become addicted like this their family is very damaged for all of them because gambling can never bring happiness and peace to anyone's life.

so throughout your gambling you should also take the time to practice yourself so that no matter what happens you will not become addicted to it, you should be able to allocate your time and budget to other things and don't get too absorbed in gambling because once that you really get used to it and you do it again and again, it becomes habitual until addiction develops. It is difficult to control because you have to give your full dedication to achieve this thing so that even if you have been gambling for a long time, you can say that gambling has not caused you any harm.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 28, 2024, 09:38:08 AM
We read you!

my number 1 rule is only gamble the amount that I can afford to lose so In that way, I can limit myself to spend more money in gambling and also to prevent myself in any obsessions that may happen whenever I experience excessive gambling. I'm aware that gambling is just for fun but many of us still consider it as an activity that will give us money that's why we can see, there's a huge volume of people who became addicted in gambling.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: March 28, 2024, 05:14:33 AM

Gambling is not for children. It has a lot of mental pressure. And a gambler must have self-control. Otherwise you will lose all your money. No gambling for children or minors. They cannot control themselves and they cannot take extra mental pressure.

Children can't really handle stress and children have low tolerance for stress so things should not be done in front of children where they are exposed to stressful situations.
Gambling can actually have a negative effect on children, especially if they are attracted to gambling, they will spend time gambling, thereby preventing them from pursuing formal education, and ultimately, children will not be able to develop a proper career in terms of career.
Therefore, gambling should be kept away from those who are below 18 years of age and should never participate in gambling as a guardian in front of family children. In this case, they see these habits of parents and children also start practicing these habits among themselves.

That's true, they really can't handle stress and they shouldn't know how to do gambling at their young age because it may affect their mental health once they experience any pressure because of losing in playing it. That's why gambling is prohibited to do in front of younger kids especially nowadays that most young generation is very fast learner and they easily adapt what's happening in their environment, so in order for them not to engage in this kind of activity is to avoid or to lessen the exposure of it in front of them and by educating them what's the cause and effect of doing it.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 27, 2024, 10:23:12 PM
Those people that are like what OP described are the ones where we can pick a lot of lessons. Not everyone is going to be broke in gambling if they have discipline.

But going onto that point which isn't really new at all becomes a trend when emotions are too high. Don't let your emotions control you because no one is going to help you at these trying times.

When you're the one who chose that situation for you. So, survive it on your own and learn big from it.

Its not really something you would really be needing to mess up your life with before you would really be able to make yourself that learn those things on which we can be able to picture out into those
people who do have able to experience the worst on gambling on which people would really be that trying to see and reflect for themselves on what are the things that they should gonna do so that they wont really be messing up their lifes with on the time that they would really be dealing up with gambling. Gambling isnt bad if you are really just that responsible. It do really just turns out that there are people who dont really care that much when it comes to possible outcomes or things that would happen to them as long they could really be able to play gambling then this what matter the most.
REgrets and learnings do really happen in the end of the line and not from the start.
They will reflect on it later on and will see their own fault. These gamblers that have a shoulder to lean on will keep on messing with their lives.

But when they realize that there's no one going to help them and they are on their own, that's when their situation gets more serious.

They'll be obliged to do it on their own and solve their own mistake by not asking anyone to be there for them.

I don't think so? There are a few gamblers who, even though they have been separated from their family or are no longer receiving help, they still continue to gamble as if nothing had happened, they continue to enjoy gambling life, and when there is no relative to help them, they gonna approach other people even if it's not a relative and what's worse is they do bad things just to get money to gamble, They don't know what's right and wrong anymore,.maybe that's how it is when you have a severe case of gambling addiction. I know someone whose wife and child have left him but seems like he doesn't care about what is happening, gambling is more important to him than his family.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 27, 2024, 09:39:23 PM
Quite odd when gambling is legal and then promotion of it is not allowed. It varies from laws of a country towards gambling. There are countries that are strict and implementing heavily their rules about it.

Once a bill becomes a law then all you have to do is to obey it or face the consequences. That's what everyone have to remember with these policies.

If you don't like it then don't do it so that you'll not be in trouble when the law enforcement finds you doing it.

the laws will really be strict in a country especially if they see its effect on the people, and it is necessary to follow it in order to respect the decision of the government. Why is the promotion of gambling prohibited when gambling is legal in the country? There are many possible reasons, but the first one here is the wrong way of promotion, which many minors see and possibly imitate, just to avoid that even young people may become addicted to gambling.
407  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 27, 2024, 12:32:21 PM
Keeping our gambling habits a secret here could refer to the way we handle the privacy on how we are gambling, some don't really like a public exposure when they are gambling, while some don't mind having that, but its mostly more profitable if from the way we gambles, we remain unpredictable, this is to help maintain our personal integrity to an extent with other people we may relate with outside the scope of gambling, seeing us being a gamblers could print another impression different on them.
I like that. Being unpredictable. The secrecy is still there and somehow we are protecting those who are near us in a different way. We may be called gamblers but they must not know the extent of how we gamble. We could be betting for a large amount or we are just doing it for fun but the neighbors only hear that occasionally that they won't have any idea what is really happening inside. We keep that at bay in telling our kids or our relatives about what is happening to us.
Why? Simply because there are people who cannot shut their mouths and they will keep on adding more stories to the ones that they heard.
In my family, I would not mind telling my wife because I know she won't be the kind of person that would tell others about it. As a partner in everything she will definitely protect my secret.

Precisely! It seems that right now, we would rather be a low-key person in our lives, it is better that other people don't know about what we do to avoid judgments and evil eye. We know that people have different thoughts, some will think badly of you when they find out that you gamble, and others will think that you have a lot of money because when it comes to gambling, huge and easy money is very possible when you win. If you want a peaceful life and no one will interfere with the things you do, just continue to keep them a secret, just choose who you trust to tell, the one you know who's supportive and genuinely happy with the things you receive in your life.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: March 27, 2024, 10:42:46 AM
I was exposed to gambling at a very young cage considering that both my father and my grandfather were notorious gamblers via cockfighting.
lucky for me that I never fell into the same path as yours mate because my Uncle
and even my grandfa is also a cockfighting gambler where they kept talking about gambling
and their wins but never that i listen to theirs because my mom is telling me not to listen.

Quote
PICTURE OF OUR FIGHTER CHICKEN FARM:

wow I also remember the farm my family had back in the days , when i and my
father eating beaten chicken from derby  Grin

Good for you, mate. maybe because we have grown up with the situation of those who are older than us, so we no longer follow in their footsteps, I also come from a family of gamblers, on my mother's side specifically. I saw the hardships and situations of their lives since I was young, how they became rich and poor because of gambling and because of greed. I'm really lucky because I didn't inherit the addiction to gambling, many people used to say that I would grow old and be like my uncles but I imprinted in my mind that even if I learn to gamble, I will never let myself fall like what happened to my uncles. I can consider them as the reason why I try to manage my gambling habits well because being a gambler runs in my race.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 27, 2024, 10:14:20 AM
Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?

I won't bet on a game that has alot of racism going on as they can manipulate the game when they want to and they'll make me to lose my bet. If a club has too many black players and they're being hated on by both the officials and the fans. It can make them to lose games as they'll begin to lose their confidence on the playing field. Regardless of the sport, if there is racism going on it'll affect the players and also affect the games therefore I think it's better we avoid betting on those games.

This is one of my thoughts before, is it really possible for them to manipulate the game when the opposing team is all black? Why is the skin color of people such a big deal today? why is racism receives so much attention? we should be focused on the match not on the skin color of the players because the skill and ability of the players is not based on the color of a person.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 27, 2024, 09:43:42 AM
I want to know how it feels among those of you who gamble using altcoins or bitcoins, basically the crypto you are using today has increased significantly, we know that in 2022-2023 coins that are small are not so valuable, and how does it feel today? Is there a little regret or do you not care because the money you lose in gambling is a necessity for you, so you don't care about the crypto you have lost in gambling for the past two years?

When I decide to gamble then I know the money I bet will be lost. Gambling is not an investment. When I deposit $100 in Bitcoin in 2023 to gamble and I know right now it is $500, I have no regrets because at that time I was thinking about gambling. Do I have to wait 1 more year just for my $100 to become $500 then I will start gambling? I do not think so.

Of course it would be sad if I looked at my deposit history and I estimate that all my deposits in 2022-2023, all types of coins that I have purchased have increased 5-10x. But basically I do want to gamble. So it was my risk to get pleasure at that time.
I suppose you are kinda right though because it's not easy seeing your Bitcoin of value that was worth 100$ before now reflecting 500$ in value and then you telling yourself that the Money wasn't used for anything but gambling but at the playing the gambling you would have never thought that the Bitcoin would have skyrocket that high and beside you were not planning on saving but instead playing and risking the coins on games so it's still count as money well used despite the fact that you might have lost everything.

At first you may think it's a waste because you just use to gamble a coin that had gone 10x or more in the marketplace and you can make money just by holding it the first place. But who knows it would skyrocket in market place? The time you bought that coins was intended for your gambling experience and not investing. So there is no waste. Just misopportunities. But guess what? There are tons opportunities in the market place. The crypto exchange are open 24/7. So forgive yourself and let go.

What happened in the past is irrelevant right now. The only thing that you can connect today and future are the lesson that you've got.

Well said, we can't say that the spent coins are a waste because from the very beginning you will really use them for gambling and you have no idea that the coins you hold will increase in value. You will regret it at first but that's the way it is, maybe the opportunity that time is not meant for you but Atleast you will learn something important what will help you in your future plans in investing in crypto
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 27, 2024, 09:08:46 AM

Navigating through articles online got me attracted to a catchy caption yet disturbing (the link posted below).
I am  a stern believer that gambling. Which I believe that lottery is, is purely a game of luck rather than skills or expertise.
How this managed to happen repeatedly for 14 times means it's not just luck, something else must have happened.

https://www.unilad.com/news/mathematician-won-lottery-14-times-317063-20231230

Leave your opinion if you think it's 100% luck to be  winner or there is a particular skill needed.

The game of lottery is a game of luck... thinking that mathematical strategies will work is a big mistake, these games are controlled by the bookmakers, it's very impossible to win mathematically
Just play the game and hope for the best

maybe it works to other people but it's really impossible to win using a mathematical strategy, maybe it's just coincidence that they won using the computation that they use but for me, lottery is really all about luck and by playing this, It seems that it only takes belief and manifestation that you will win or  luck really favors on you because it is difficult to prove that you can win it through mathematic calculations because no one has yet proven that they won using that strategy.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 27, 2024, 04:02:43 AM
So where's the fun when you lose your money?
OP, one thing that you don't understand is that losing the money is not the fun, but the fun is that you enjoyed the game. You should not gamble on any game that you don't have any idea on, so that when playing the game, you can enjoy it. It is just like you playing card with your friends, don't you enjoy the fun in it. But while playing and you decided to stake a little amount to make everyone sit up, and make the game more interesting, because no one will want to lose his money.

True the gambling is fun by enjoying the game at the beginning of time gamble is not provide to get rich quickly tho maybe there is one or two people who win at first time they play but this is just a gambling and deal with it.
Winning in gamble is just a bonus in my opinion.

if you OP don't want to risk your money while still want to enjoying the game you can try demo and there is demo play with fake money in every platform of the gambling provider or you can download slot or roullete game in playstore and appstore

that's a great suggestion, If a person doesn't want to spend a money from their pocket but wants to experience having fun by doing it, they should try the demo option, in that way, they can practice first before they going to gamble using real money, Take note that there's no easy money and everythings comes with a right and long process, so do not assume that once you used your own money by doing gambling, you will become rich. If you want to become instantly rich, you should have used huge amount of money as well but that's a risky move so I won't suggest that.
413  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who can you trust more to handle your business, man or woman? on: March 26, 2024, 09:33:30 PM
Am sure many arguments have ensued from the disparity in management that both gender, the man and the woman, can bring to the table as regards managing a business to scale heights of progress.
While a man is preferred for some, in order cases, the women are more favorite to handle top management positions due to their multitasking ability or dedication to vision of the company that's unwavering.

* If you intend to start your business or you already do and are looking for the best candidate to fill the top management position, would you trust a man or a woman to handle the affairs of the business?

* What reasons would you suggest are right, for picking and trusting a particular gender to handle a top management position of your business?

Let's discuss!

for me, I don't mind if I choose a man or a woman as a top management position, I don't look at gender because for me, women and men have equal abilities, maybe I will base more on credibility, skills and the ability of a person to handle business. Just to inform everyone, there are many now especially in our country that the CEO's of companies are held mostly by women. The stigma before that only men have the right to inherit or handle businesses has been broken because in today's time, Not generalizing, but women contribute even more to a company or business.
414  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 26, 2024, 08:54:44 PM
I think you may have seen or read elsewhere about a father who left his toddler at home alone to go to a casino to gamble, and clearly this is behavior and actions that reflect that he is a family man who is so irresponsible that he would risk the life of his own child just to gamble.
I've read that news as well and that's just a sad story because gambling really changes people whether he's a family person or not.

So, as for the topic about if gambling changes or influences a gambler. Yes, it's true but it's not just always for the better.

And based from that news that we've read, it can also change a person negatively and doesn't know what to prioritize if he's itching to gamble wherein he can just stay at home and gamble online.

There is a thread about it here on the forum and gambling really has an impact on a person, we can't say if it is a positive or negative impact but based on what is being read and reported today, it seems that the majority is changing for the worst, because there are many sensible people People who have been engaged in gambling have changed a lot in their actions and behavior. It's just sad because there are other incidents where parents can afford to neglect their children in exchange for gambling.
415  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tuloy Ang pag Ban Ng Binance Sa Pinas At Posibleng Dahilan. on: March 26, 2024, 12:56:56 PM

416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 26, 2024, 12:20:31 PM
The mathematician might have used probability and statistics to find patterns in lottery numbers. We all know that lotteries are about luck, but I think, using mathematical is an advantage to try to increase chances of winning. Although we should also understand and remember that there is no foolproof method that winning is guaranteed by using these kind of techniques.

yes it's true that there is an advantage if you get the right calculations and steps to win a lottery but we have no certainty that this will lead you to consistent winnings because I still believe that gambling, specifically in the lottery is more on luck only, no one has been able to prove that there are exact computations on how to win it, and if there is, he will definitely not share it with other people.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 26, 2024, 11:28:54 AM
I don't think you should bet big on a match just because you have a lot of confidence in the outcome of that match. This confidence may be false. As a rule, we all know stories about people who won large sums, relying only on their intuition or confidence based on personal preferences or beliefs. This is very far from the correct game system. The game should be based on clear patterns, and not on faith. Over the long haul, overconfidence will most likely bankrupt you. I would say that we must first consider the facts that contradict our belief. When we carefully study these facts, we will be forced to come to a more balanced point of view.

I agree, I think betting big amounts is always a bad idea, regardless of your confidence or whatever. I would never bet such money even if I thought the of me winning was 99%. However, the OP's friend won his bet and now we have nothing else to do but congratulate him. Good job! As we usually say when some wins his risky bet, good job!

Truly a lucky day for OP's friend, tho what he did is super risky and it's rare that someone will do that just to prove to their friends that the team he choose is the right one. it's a good thing he won because otherwise, he'll run out of money, his ego will be trampled. Just like you, I would never bet a huge amount even though I have instincts that I will win if I let this team go. First of all, it is difficult to bet all in because it is risky and secondly, I am not an impulsive type of gambler that I can drop any amount if I want to, my allocated gambling money is limited and I am not yet in point that I can afford to spend a large amount because I don't have that much and if I have, I will put it in my savings and not spend it on my vice.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 26, 2024, 10:55:04 AM
Don't make bets or gamble when you are tired, there is nothing left to enjoy out of your games.

Don't make bets or gamble when you are sad, come back when you are in a good mood, your mood is automatically in negative when you are sad.

Don't make bets or gamble when you have consumed some alcohol or intoxicating drugs, you are no longer in your right mind already, what are you trying to gain? Nothing.

Some casinos will intentionally serve their customers some freebies and if you are the type that loves free drinks or sweet foods they can take advantage of your types, always walk into a casino with the mind of focusing only on your games.

very well said! You have said everything on my mind, all the possibilities that we must not do when we gamble because they will have a big impact on us once we gamble and do the things you mentioned. When it comes to gambling, it's not just because you have money that you can gamble anytime and whatever you want, we also need to consider the things you mentioned in order for us not to become wrecked and broke in the future.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: March 26, 2024, 10:35:01 AM

Just want to share.

https://youtu.be/k7aQEqDbuf8?t=4429
He was interviewed on Lex Fridman's channel just today. Funny how he thought it was just $80K but it's actually $3M. Rich men lose more when they get drunk playing blackjack.

He advises about winning and losing in gambling and if you get depressed because of it, gambling is not for you. He meant winning and losing are part of the game where great things and bad things happen.

it's just like don't gamble when you're under the influence of drugs, why? because you don't know what's really happening around you anymore, imagine? You lost 3M but you thought it was only $80k, what a big difference right? Gambling is not really for you if you are careless and lack self-awareness while playing because if it continues, you might end up losing more than you expected.

Isa ako sa nalugi dahil kay axie. Ni piso walang nabalik sa akin kasi puro hold nagawa ko nung may value pa kasi nag aakala na tataas pa.

Ayun luging lugi pero may hold ako na ronin, slp, axs. Ginawa ko nalang remembrance. HAHAHHAHA
