1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 09, 2023, 01:08:27 PM
Let us discuss in this thread the things one should completely avoid while gambling. Here are some suggestions according to me :

1) Do not gamble in work area : It is not ethical to do so. Your employer is paying you to work for him for certain hours. If you waste these hours for gambling, it is a bad habit.

2) Do not take loan to gamble: Some young guys are so irresponsible that they take loans to gamble. It is a very bad move and can even produce life threatening conditions in future when loan recover agents knock your door.
Gambling during working hours is indeed unethical and strictly prohibited. It may affects your productivity and attitude towards your work. There's a sanction once your employer know that you're doing it, grave offense and can lead to termination as well. So it's better to have a time management on yourself and must do gambling if you're having a spare time just like your rest days and leaves. On the 2nd part, I think that's obvious to know that it's not okay to borrow a money just for gambling because it may lead you to huge debt and bankruptcy. Most people who takes loan just for gambling are suffering in a gambling addiction.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wedding expenses and party celebrations with Bitcoin money. on: November 09, 2023, 12:14:22 PM
Congrats, I wish you all the best in your marriage.

I do have few advice for you, I bet you are working, have a job I mean, that's how you are able to gather the first money you invested in Bitcoin, let this happy day last forever.

You can do it, do not doubt yourself, it's not bad to have other days where you can celebrate even more, so my friend, I advice you to get some Bitcoin back, do your think, work and get some money and buy Bitcoin very soon as the time is running out.

Because by 2024 you will be speechless about the price of Bitcoin, what you gained right now for your wedding is nothing compare to investing that same amount on Bitcoin now and cash out in last days of 2024 or mid of 2025, get prepared,  I wish you and your wife all the best in life.
It's nice to see this kind of post especially with the help of bitcoin in this kind of special event,  I know some people too who gained many things and meaningful events in life by the help of investing in crypto and you're right, better to have a stable job while having an investment so that you can save more for your future plans as well.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: November 09, 2023, 10:59:57 AM
In an online casino, most of their requirements with their lottery live experiences have a designated month-only event, more particularly with Christmas, New Year, Halloween, and valentines Day, have a time frame only like those occasions in terms of physical lottery still depends on their requirements too, base on my country once you win and you didn't claim for a while you can claim it after couple of years once you still have the ticket of course with proper good condition to make a verification if this is legitimate or not. Before participating always try to read the rules and regulations.

Right. Always read the terms and conditions. If you know when to expect the winnings in case you win, at least check it until that day. Usually lottery prizes have expiration dates and if you don't claim your prize within a certain period, you might forfeit your winnings. It's unlikely that the casino would refund your money if you fail to claim your prize within the specified time frame thats why its important to stay informed about the terms and conditions of the lottery you're participating in to ensure you don't miss out on any potential winnings. It s basic
Also be mindful and responsible, if you know that you have a bet, be updated in winning result because there's a lottery draw daily, so there's a lot of possible winners in a daily basis. Upon checking, some lottery gives at least 7 days to claim you're prizes and you're right, unlike in other casino there's a possibility to claim you prize even if you're unable to claim it on time.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: November 09, 2023, 10:50:07 AM
What he did I think is what he feels is the best for him to have done. I believe he must have seeked the opinion of well meaningful individuals before he took that step because I know on a normal he could have just let his friends know that he would be traveling or changing environment and possibly might not tell them about his wins but they would have found out wether he told them or not but what matters most is his safety with respect to the amount of his wins.  Many people have that friend who only wants to benefit and not contribute and when it is time for merriment, you would always see them at the front singing and shouting your praises when they are not the reflection of what they do at the time of your reimbursement. These has made people to take such decisions of running away when ever they make it big avoiding their friends and most times relatives as well. So OP took such decisions based on his experience with his friends.
While some may consider this to be a bad attitude to have towards their friends we do not know what could have pushed this person to take that decision.

As for all we know they could have been justified on their actions and what they did is what any other rational person would have done, as it is easy to take the side of their friends as this is the only information the OP received, but as we know there are always two versions of the same story, and maybe if the OP heard it they will understand why this happened.
We need to hear both sides of the story! kidding aside, It's quite difficult to judge since we don't know the possible issues prior the winning break of that person. maybe there's a misunderstanding between them or maybe they are not that close and those friends assume that they are. I don't think a person will avoid you without having any valid reason and for me, if I won a big prize, there's a tendency that I will treat my friends since they are my company during the gambling session.
1285  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: November 09, 2023, 10:23:15 AM
The entertaining part will be replace of aggresion to win back the losing amount of money that they use, if the person continue to look for a way to chase the money they already lose it will affect their emotional balance, meaning that it will reflect with how they will think about gambling and even they are trying to keep it as secret when chasing loses come out in their minds they will use additional money that not allocated to gambling, then lose it as well, emotional stress and more on focusing into gambling that may lead into addictions.
And keeping their gambling activities a secret can cause more problems to arise because they can exceed their limits and no one knows how much money they have spent gambling. This is very risky because someone could deposit more money to gamble because they think they want to win more but they don't realize that it will only cost them more money. But if he can have good self-control, he can hide his gambling activities and will not get into any trouble, although that does not guarantee that he will not exceed his limits because he gambles in secret. We will never know when we will lose self-control or how long we can control ourselves because in gambling, we can get bigger temptations than before, so we must always be alert and stop gambling immediately if we have had enough of gambling.
well. you have a point, maybe being a lowkey just to protect a gamblers  from some evil eyes that may surrounds them, we all know that some people doesn't agree and support you once they know that you're into gambling and There's a traditional belief that once they know what you're doing, they can ruin it. In a gamblers vocabulary, Luck is very important that's why sometimes they tend to hide what they are doing even in their family members just to avoid losing in a game. Having a self control and limitations is a must and if gambler feels that they are turning being addicted to it, maybe that's the time that you can tell it to them.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 09, 2023, 10:08:59 AM
The first thing to realize newcomer to gambling is that the probability that he will lose more money than win is quite high. In games based on luck, he can change almost nothing over time, and in games in which the result depends on the experience of the player, he has a chance to become better than others, but it will have to spend a lot of time and money. The second thing you need to understand the beginner is that gambling is invented to tickle your nerves, and without high risks it is not possible.

Yeah, so just enjoy in the games you play when you are a beginner. Specially if you go out with your friends and going on a traditional based casinos. It's more fun there for sure specially if are a newbie  and you will at awe with what you are going to see.

So no need to chase big wins, maybe you might experience what we call beginners luck. But after that it could be string of bad luck and so you will definitely lose a lot of money and it will be a bad experience. And from then on you can decide whether to continue or just have fun when gambling.
do not fall in what we called beginners luck, it will tease you just to play more because you've already experienced winning the prizes. At first It's fun but I'll tell you, casino will reclaimed the money that you've won,
But once you passed the beginners luck and you're still continuously winning which is signs of a lucky streak, then that's a sign to play even more but always note that the luck can change quickly when it comes to gambling so it's crucial to have your self limitations and never get too carried away.

1289  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tarot cards gamit pang predict ng market? on: November 08, 2023, 11:46:44 AM

1290  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 08, 2023, 11:40:06 AM
The normal age for financial stability varies for individuals based on their goals, circumstances & financial habits.
Maybe by the age of 30 you should aim to have a stable income, a well-managed budget, a savings plan & a good credit score. It's important to start building financial stability as early as possible but remember that everyone's journey is different & it's never too late to start taking control of your finances.
Age of 30 seems possible but it depends to every individual like what you've said, everyone's journey is different. So if you're in the mid of 25-30 years old, I think It's fine if you have no enough savings and didn't hit the financial stability that you set in yourself as long as little by little, you already know how to manage your finances and expenses, also you have a time to enjoy your 20's. Nowadays it's difficult to have a spare money because of minimum salary offer while experiencing Inflation in economy but if there's an opportunity that may help you to aim the financial stability that you need, don't miss the chance, grab it and take a risk.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 08, 2023, 11:22:40 AM
Just don't go all in. Start with a small, manageable amount you can afford to lose. Think of it like dipping your toes in the water before diving in. Always do your homework on the platforms and go for the well-known and trustworthy ones. Avoid those shady schemes promising quick riches because they usually lead to disappointment. It's like finding the right party to hang out at and you want the one with a good crowd and positive vibes. There are a lot ot tips here in the forum. You will do well.  Smiley
Best thing to do if you're playing in an online casino but if you're going on some casino, you can probably consider observation first to see how the games are played, how the players play and if you're lucky, how the winners play. I think that it's common sense to avoid those schemes, didn't the Led Zeppelin said that all that glitters isn't gold? If something is just too good of an offer, there's probably a catch that's a total disadvantage to you. I can't really add any new advice since most of the advice that a newcomer should know is probably said already, I guess I just have to say that you should just enjoy gambling and never make it too serious.
also before new comers play in online casino, I suggest them to watch and to read other information about the casino site that they interested to play, they can even test out the game in a demo mode so that they will learn how it works. Do a background check to see if this is a legit and reputable online casino to prevent them from scammers since there are many unscrupulous operators out there who are looking to take advantage of newcomers... 100% agree on you, for all new comers, Just enjoy the gambling and always think that you play it for fun.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Believe That Reading People's Bad Experience Will Help You on: November 08, 2023, 11:12:32 AM
Who on earth hasn't heard or known how gambling is negatively affecting some people's financial lives? Nevertheless, a lot of individuals choose to ignore all the warning indications they have seen about the dangers of gambling addiction in people's lives. Still on still, they will continue to permit such events to occur to them.
Hmm. It's true that gambling can affect someone financial status, but these individuals do really know it can crush them to zero if they got involved with it heavily, and when I say heavily it means addiction taking bet outside their financial capability.
The fact remains that many would rather learn things the hard way. When they hear of other people's bad experiences with gambling, they are not moved or stopped unless they are painfully experiencing the worst with them. By then, they'll start moving on from their addiction to something more positive.
Maybe because they think that we do have our own lives, stories from other people or experience from others does not necessarily mean that they have going the same fate, but with gambling there's just two way, winning and losing, comes at worst the losing streak and become addicted to regain their losses.
That's the kind of thing we see in today's people's lives.  They prefer to experience it first before quitting any bad addiction that will cost their lives.
Definitely, some are not moved by other's stories unless it happened to them, not just with gambling specifically. Funny how they wanna experience some tragedy before realizing.

i think it's the nature of humans. we wait for something tragic before we take action and sometimes its even too late before we do something to prevent it. the gamblers in the forum are very much aware of addiction but we are up to bet our coins thinking we could double the amount after.

when we win, we still aren't satisfied and once again we're up to continue betting. just like the smoker who knows it can cause lung cancer but there they are enjoying the smoke. yeap sometimes the bad experiences are not that helpful, it even ignites curiosity. but it sometimes serves as a warning for the fearful.

I admit that this is somehow true, We tend to wait for something bad might happen before we take an action and decide what's the best for ourself. Actually even if there's a lot of topic here about preventions and safety measures about gambling, others may read it but they won't apply it in their life or they are having a hard time to absorb all information's that they learned. For me, it's better not to experience or we don't have to wait for some things to happen, avoid and prevent it as fast as possible.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: November 08, 2023, 11:05:04 AM
What is the most money you have ever lost in one session? could be land base casino or crypto casino.

mine was $200,000 on Stake.com 2 weeks ago
from my experience I only once lost the biggest loss in 1 session around $350 on a fiat bet on a roulette game and if I remember at that time I was overcome by very high emotions chasing losses and in the end I still lost everything but thats okay it made it the best experience ever I've experienced.

wait a minute you said you lost $200,000 in 1 session? If I may ask, what is your aim in betting such a large amount? to chase defeat or just for fun?
IMO, if you are able to bet large amounts, perhaps losing will not reduce your wealth because I am sure you are a rich person.
While each person can do whatever they want with their money, at the same time losing so much money in a single session seems like it is too much, after all with that amount of money you could do many other things to entertain yourself which will last longer than the few hours the average gambling session last, so maybe it is time for the OP to think about other hobbies they may like, since gambling so much regardless of their level of wealth seems to be unsustainable.
It's all about how to manage proper risk in betting. Since it's a huge amount, it's seems to be hard to believe that you've lost it in one session and if the reason is for fun and leisure only, I bet you're super rich person because you can use high dollar amount for gambling. Better to take a break in gambling and create a management plan how to use money in gambling correctly.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 08, 2023, 10:28:13 AM
I play out of boredom or if I really want to get something out of a game and I'm literally putting money where my mouth is, but if I found a new hobby that will shadow my interests in gambling, that will do it. My financial state is somewhat stable for the next year or so, and I'm not rushing to get more money and will certainly not do it through gambling. So if there's something that will stop me from betting, that will be something that occupies my full interest, and that is a new hobby.
If that's the case, I must say that this is one of the best solution to stop you from gambling but once you get the right hobby for you, you'd better to control you decisions also your spending habit even if it's not for gambling so that you wont be addicted to it. Since you've said that you're gambling out of boredom and you're not rushing to get more money ,  If you have a stable income I can recommend you to explore outdoor activities such as hiking that will also gives you so much benefits both physical and emotional state.
1295  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: November 08, 2023, 10:12:44 AM
It's one of question which differs from person to person. How do you define richness?
No one has ever succeeded to achieve all of its dream to live. Many could have obtained the whole treasures in the world and yet wanting some more probably wish to be a god.
Just absolutely.... No one gets it all but being rich is as being contented with what you have and most especially you can get to your essential needs without the luxuries.
When we say rich, meaning is a successful person, talking about someone with millions in their bank accounts and having so much properties and investment. People measure how successful a person is by how much money they earn but for me, the true meaning of being rich and success is being happy on what I have in life, Most importantly if my family and I is healthy and contented on what we have.
1296  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: November 08, 2023, 09:37:55 AM
I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing?
Indeed, education is very important, but it is not a criterion for success. A person can make money from different source which is not related at all to his academic discipline. One thing i must say is that academic knowledge helps to manage wealth. After having all the wealth if you don't have good knowledge on calculations; simple algebraic and arithmetic, statistics and probability then it may hinder your progress. Also, if you lack communication skills and writing skills then it would be worst. So, this is the reason why educations are important for any pursuit in life.

On point! education is very important but this is not the only way for success, I know so many successful individual/ businessman who doesn't have a degree from the start before they become successful, it's all about perseverance, talent and their natural skills, However when the time goes by, they need to enroll in a college to get a degree so that they will learn more how to manage their businesses  and to improve confidence in business world.
1297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 07, 2023, 11:45:57 PM
You love a woman and you like her to be your lifetime partner. It's a lifetime commitment and she doesn't like your gambling habit, you can talk to her to spare that because before you even met her, you're already one.

But are you willing to do that?

IMHO, I'd do that but I am past that situation so it's no longer a thing for me. Financial wise, it's bad to gamble when you have got nothing and that's the condition I guess for me that I'll stop indefinitely.
But what if gambling become a main reason of your failed relationship? are you still willing not to stop just because you are into gambling even before you met her? I don't think so. If you have a good intention and you want to have a healthy relationship with good financial stability with your partner in the future, It's better to stay away on the things that may possibly ruin it. So based on your reply, seems like you'd rather to choose your vices than your partners opinion for your own good.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: November 07, 2023, 10:19:39 PM
I believe it's important to have a serious conversation with her about the world of gambling emphasizing personal choices and responsibility.
It's advisable to discuss this before getting married. If she's raising this concern because you might have a gambling addiction you should work on finding a balance between family interests and your enjoyment.
But leaving gambling in my opinion I don't think that

Not only about gambling, but a couple which expects to get married eventually is supposed to share that kind of opinions and disclose their habits to each other, for the sake of their relationship and the future family they want to build together. Perhaps, it is one of the reason so my marriages end up failing and broking apart, they keep secrets from each other which in the end will always surface and create disturbances between both of them

If your girlfriend is a very religious kind of person and you keep to gamble secretly, you cannot expect not to have problems in marriage, specially if she finds out by other people or by checking on your finances or the family finances.
Though, I am sure there will be cases where a husband loved his religious woman so much and actually gave up on gambling forever, for the sake of love.
There is a little bit of everything in this world.
Exactly! I know that some of us needs a privacy that's why some people is having a reason to keep it as a secret but that's not a good idea especially if you're dating now and both of you see each other as your future husband/wife, It's better to be more open to discuss this kind of topic so that you can prevent things that might happen in the future. I know there's a word "compromise" once you get married, but be fair and try to place yourself in your partner’s shoes.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: November 07, 2023, 09:53:20 PM
-snip-

But still, there are a great many people who consider some figures and numbers lucky for themselves.
And they play the lottery in their own way.

I would like to know what lucky numbers members in this forum have, for lotteries but also other games (for example, 3.33x in crash, or whatever).

And have you got any lucky charms? maybe a woman (I recently saw Sin City 2 and the lucky charm was a woman in colour in a film that is in black and white) or special trainers or underwear like some football players? Grin

Please share.
That would be interesting! I think many of us has a lucky combination winning number that everyone keeps to themselves. Base on my observation, players limits to use repeating numbers and some use the numbers that signifies important day to their life. For the lucky charm, Do you believe in nazar amulet which believes to protect you on some evil eyes, that's what I currently have. 🧿🧿🧿
1300  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tataas Kaya Ang Awareness Ng MgaTao Sa Bitcoin Kung May Mga Billboard on: November 07, 2023, 08:45:40 PM
Maya (Paymaya) gumawa na ng ganyan for sure nakita mo yun hindi mo lang na mention dito sa post mo. Kabilaan kahit saan ka pumunta sa NCR makikita mo napansin ko yun nung maglalamove ako. Hindi lang Bitcoin or Bitcoin logo ang nilagay nila but the whole "Crypto".
