1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: November 21, 2023, 10:56:07 AM
Ive been planning to post in this topic for a long time, but resisted because I dont understand the question Cheesy What kind of answer does OP expect? Philosophical or numeral? My luck in gambling is determined by the amount of times I withdraw, meaning I have deposited, gambled and did no lose Cheesy Or I am lucky in gambling every time I gamble with faucet funds, because I dont gamble with own money.

Lucky for her she had that financial stability for 25 years as $6,670+ a month.

Do you ever think of quitting after you won a jackpot?

If I my jackpot is 2 millions, but I'm gonna receive only 6.6k during 300 months, then I am not gonna quit gambling or job. This looks like a bonus, then a real jackpot. With extra 6.6k a month a still wont be able to afford many things. Still it will be buying stuff in credit and overpayment of interest.

If that's the case that your winning money is not given in a lump sum amount then it's best not to quit your job for now. Make a solid plan on what you will going to do in the future and If you want to earn more while receiving installment amount from your winning worth $6.6k monthly, better to continue what you are currently doing right now. In that way, you will be able to earn from your job while having extra funds, you may invest it to properties, crypto, and Build a business that you want so when the time comes that you want to quit your job, you can definitely say that you are financially stable in your life.
1182  Economy / Economics / Re: this makes a huge impact on the economy. on: November 21, 2023, 10:40:11 AM
I noticed majority of the people in my area tend to spend more money then usual when they get their salary, like buying things they don't really need.
I said majority of people because my dad owns a grocery store, I have noticed that most of the customers tend to buy more stuff on the 1st and 10th day of the month because on these days they get paid in my country.
I already seeing this pattern on news or business related youtube videos, but I didn't think it was a big deal.
Now I realized that its very important to consider this behavior of people when making business decisions because it can have a big impact on the sales or finances.
I am surprised by it because in my family we usually buy only things we really need, I am starting to understand how other people's spending habits can affect the business.

Do you also find yourself spending more on you payday?, or you approach your expenses differently?

I think because that's the time that they are able to do grocery shopping and paying bills because they're already paid from their hard work and that's normal for a people who's having a stable job. Just like what I did, once I received my paycheck, I already have my list of what should I've supposed to do with my hard earned money, Top of my list is paying monthly bills, allotted money for the grocery and savings. It became a monthly habit for some people and I think they can manage well their finances even if they spend much during their payday.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: November 21, 2023, 10:09:07 AM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.

15 000$ starter in small business? Are you serious? Do you know that amount is not a small amount for us here in our country for the small business you are talking about? With that amount, I might have a convenience store or grocery store.

If it's that kind of amount here in our country, that's not a practical start-up for business because it's too big. You can have a business here even with a $50-$100 start-up, and there are a lot of microentrepreneurs here who have already become successful after several years of managing the businesses they built.
Well it depends on a state and country due to their cost of living. $15,000 is big enough for us who's living in Asia, you can buy a land or simple house and lot here in our country. With that, I suggest to used the half for business and the other half is for savings since we all know that building a business even if it's small or big, it will cost big risk and the potential of failing is always in there. Not being a negative thinker but It's better to think ahead of time so we can have a back up plan for the future.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 21, 2023, 09:36:39 AM
A very lucky man despite the troubles that he experienced. At least he managed to get what he deserved. It's best that you don't let tickets hang around or let anyone near it that could destroy it unless it's already invalid. Great win plus the benefits of the additional percentage. Woo.
This incident happened to our country and this is a real life story, 9 years is too long but he's very persistent to claim his prize even if it took so long> I don't know if the news mentioned how much he spent for all the court hearing and lawsuit but 12Million pesos is a huge amount on this day for an average person. The money he won can be used to start a business or use it in buying property and investment. About the rift of the winner to his daughter, I think 9 years is enough for not be able to forgive his daughter. In the first place, It's not a good idea to ruin your family just because of money and unexpected circumstances.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: November 21, 2023, 09:17:59 AM
Please, include a video link of people playing bottle flip, so those who don't know the play can understand how it works.

Every games which involve a competition or challenge among different players is possible to be gambled. If bottle flip is an interesting and addictive play, I'm sure many people are going to have disposal to bet on it, however it has to become more popular first. Personally, it's the first time I'm hearing about it. I have never seen people around playing bottle flip on my country. Here people are more into soccer most of the time.

I've searched this video how it works and how money involves in this game.

Please visit here.

You're right! every activity that involves monetary value is considered as gambling. Based on what I've watch, it seems fun and interesting that's why kids are enjoying playing it, Same to some adults because it shows different stages and ways on how you have to flip the bottle to get the money prize. I Think this is small kind of indoor activity with a twist of gambling because money is involved.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 21, 2023, 09:08:51 AM
Have you ever thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run? One of those punters on X, who usually wins large sums of money from betting, is giving out about 25 laptops to folks who cannot afford them, and he recently paid for someone's cybersecurity online course. Do you think this is something that you can do—give back to the community from your gambling runs?
If you want to have good karma or luck favor your side again it is better or recommended to give back to the community, especially to the most needy one but of course, you should also allocate for your relatives and your family, family and relatives come first before helping other people.
Maybe in the future one of the poor people you helped will have a better life they will come back to you and help you in case you're the one who needs help in the future.
Not only that people you've helped will pray and bless you that you win another jackpot because you have good intentions when you are playing.
For those who believe on that will do it on purpose but I think it's better to just give sincerely, without expecting for anything in return. I want to go back to karma again, I think there is no proof that it actually exists. Even with the luck. But what is the real one that is true is the actions that we are doing. That can contribute to what results we are going to get.

It is still better to help the people who are badly in-need of something, especially if we have an extra money like after we win huge amounts though playing a gambling. That is better than if the winnings will only be taken by the casinos again. At least, we won't regret and then we also feel happy.

Exactly! it's feels good to help and give without expecting in return and I do believe in karma because it acts as a boomerang of our deed. Also, once you win a huge amount in gambling, we tend to give or treat some of our closes friends and most specially our family, it is a traditional way to share our victory and if you're kind enough, you can share it to our community as well. I know that in the future, once you're the one who is in need, possibilities that people will help you the way you help them.

1188  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: November 20, 2023, 11:11:58 AM
women and men actually have the same rights, but here most women set up businesses because their initial goal is to help their husbands with finances. Success is a plus and good luck for women, but not all women impose their will as entrepreneurs/business people, if their finances are stable or can be said to be well established

You're right, women also like making business, if not for anything but to serve as an additional means to help add to whatever their husbands provide for them, this will also serves as a backup to their main financial source in case of anything happening under a crucial event affecting their husbands business or source of income, women do make a deep thought in everything before they assume the right state of doing them as usual, they tend to create a backup for themselves.
There's a gender equality wherein women are also capable of running businesses like what men can do. In fact, Here in our country, Majority of business owners are women and they are beyond successful nowadays with the helps of their husbands/partners. See? they can manage their businesses whether they are men or women. Gender cannot be measured in how a person can handle a business, It's all about capability, determination and willingness to do.
1189  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: November 20, 2023, 11:00:39 AM
Yes , I liked your point of view. Bitcoin is best to save your money from inflation . Otherwise your money will be spend by government. If you deposit your money in bank ,bank will get interest by giving loan to needy people. So , anyone can't be financially strong by deposit your money in bank . Bitcoin will give 600 percent returns in 5 to 10 years.  If someone want to deposit your money for short period of time ,then banks are good for that person.Because cryptocurrency give returns over time , short term investment can't give high returns and money will be waste.
Before, I used to save money in banks and I'm not aware that I only get lower interest from the money that I've deposited in a long run that's why I decided to invest my money in other ways, not just letting it sleeping in my bank account. I realized that if you want to be financially stable, you need to go out of your comfort zone and don't be afraid to try new and risky things like investing in stocks, Real estate, golds and buying coins here in crypto that I know for sure that the value will increase with much higher value than saving it in a bank in the future.
1190  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 20, 2023, 10:51:19 AM
It would vary either way. For the straight line, it's more of a "You won't care what happens, you would just continue to HODL"
The second one, it's how you feel when you are monitoring the market continuously and you want to take advantage of all the possibilities that you have towards your HODLings.

This is my view and it comes with maturity. It's best that you just continue to HODL and you can make it long-term.
Exactly! That's how I see the presentation mentioned above. When it comes to Hodling, It's not like "I'll leave my money there and wait for it's value to increase" because you have to check what's going on in the market and you need to visualized and you need to think carefully about when you intend to sell it, and about hodling, it shown a long term growth potential, Hodlers can keep more money invested and increase the chance to grow their capital much faster if the value of the cryptocurrency keeps rising
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer wins seem too good on: November 20, 2023, 06:30:40 AM

I don't believe that those winnings are paid by the casino intentionally and these guys are using a specific program provided by the gambling site to increase the probability of winning. Since they are partnered with the casino, they will be given a huge bankroll to play with. In gambling, the longer your bankroll lasts, the more chances to win big and that's the reason why paid streamers always win big in their stream.
I also don't believe it,  it will harm the casino's reputation if one streamer comes out and exposes a casino by saying that he is playing on a different platform other than all the gamblers are playing, they might even blackmail the casino to expose that they rigged the game in favor of the streamers.
I will accept the bankroll distribution, it's an open secret and this is to test the platform and entice gamblers to deposit more and play the games like streamers do, it's to entice gamblers that they can duplicate the streamer's success.
Even if they don't reveal the truth, It's very obvious that there's something wrong in their live streams and vlogs. winning a huge amount of money in a row is really surprising and intrigguing because it didn't happen in real life. it's just a common sense that gambling agency sites have something to do with what's going on, some livestreamers may be using set up accounts.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling or gaming sites on: November 20, 2023, 05:09:33 AM
I did not know those listed games and didn't play but if those games related to a wage of real money or another asset that is convertible into fiat currency is considered gambling because gambling is a game that most people want to take risks with their wage and wanting to have a return, its a two way of transaction of deposit and withdrawal, still its consider because there's a player winner and a gambling house casino. I will not rather to take a risk than a reliable casino we have here.
Same here mate! I haven't heard those gambling site that was mentioned above and I think all activities with a monetary involved is considered as a gambling activity, whether it cost a low cost penny, for me I still called it as gambling. We can't say that we should gamble on a reputable sites only because we all know that some of us is a risk taker and wants to try different sites in order to know different gambling activities but for me, I will stick with legit and reputable sites because I can't risk and entrust my money easily.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: November 20, 2023, 04:55:20 AM
~snip~
Don't you think it's a benefit that whenever you are back reviewing your spreadsheet with your win or loss data, you will think not twice but more than that before you gamble? Because in my opinion, it's a kind of reminder, not like guilt-tripping or anything, but the reality check on your spending. The real benefit of keeping a record is that you can analyze not only your lose and win record but also your actual financial spending on gambling, and you can verify it with your actual financial savings. And I don't think every gambler should have to keep their record, because if you're not a gambling addict, then you will definitely think before spending.

Yeah, it's clearly a benefit.

But it will most of the time mean that the person will see that they are paying way more than what they feel comfortable, and maybe stop gambling, which is an activity they enjoy.

So, many people just don't want to see that reality because they want to gamble again.

Same with alcohol, if you enjoy drinking it, you won't bother paying high prices for it, whereas paying for other things at the same price would be a big no for the same person.

Human behavior is so interesting!
For me, It's not that important if you track all your records in gambling or not. I'm aware that it will be helpful for some gamblers because they can monitor their total spending amounts most specially if they know their limits and needs to control their money to avoid losing much  but for other gamblers who used to gamble and majority of the time they played is all about losing, It will be a bit frustrating because it reminds them of things that should be forgotten and never looked back on.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 20, 2023, 04:47:29 AM
While gambling some people gamble with small amounts which is not very important for them, but for those who are new to gambling and not able to control themselves or play with something reasonable amount.
So I have a tip for them you can stick a real paper money note in front of your monitor which will remind you that money is hard to earn and play responsibly or don't play with big amounts.
the note will remind every time that how you earned that money, and if you are controlled and this tip is not very important for you them you can ignore it, but i found this helpful.

       -  It may be helpful for you, but for others, they will ignore what you say. We also know that when you enter any casino online, you don't expect to make it big with gambling.

That means you or we, as gamblers, must accept that the bet we place in the casino will only be lost in the casino if we do not expect it. After all, we all know very well that we can win gambling out of 100%, right?
It's easy to be said but you're right, it may be helpful for some but others may ignore that statement because we are all aware that every person has a different ways on how to be responsible on their own. As a gambler, It's a must to know that once you enter in a casino or once you are gambling thru online, possibilites are about winnings and losing only so it is better to gamble or use an amount of money that you are afford to lose only.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 19, 2023, 11:12:34 AM
Greed is something that we have to over come but even at that, greed also have it own advantage just like in this situation where the game end up winning and this shows that the friend already have his mind made up to welcome anything that may come from his risk and was ready to wait to the end of the match and this ended in his favor.
But if i may be the one, I will cash out at that point since the presently available cash out is up to 90% of my expected winning from the 2.70 odds accumulator of the bet, but then this is his call and he has to answer and he is lucky to have won the bet regardless and taking home the 100% winning.
Greed must never be part of gambling activities or even in everything because this is a cancer in our motive and outcome , we will lose instead of gaining because of this attitude.

I once turns as this kind of gambler so I know what is the feeling.

so I promised myself that once given a chance to win again in gambling even 400 dollars? i will automatically withdraw and will go home , care about losing all again like what i did in the past in which my stupidity and addiction.

Hope that the photo owner cashed that out and did not bet even more.
Yup and being greedy shouldn't have tolerated and normalize in the first place, many gamblers blame their actions as being greedy why their winnings turns to losing.
Since this action is one of the top list on how to become a responsible gambler, This should have known by every gambler. Like what you've said, It is the cancer in peoples motive and outcome, So if a person wins and gets in a situation of being torn between keep playing or withdraw their winnings, they must know the answer.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wedding expenses and party celebrations with Bitcoin money. on: November 19, 2023, 09:51:55 AM
Second , it is good to hear that you all paid for the expenses using bitcoin  hope you still have good amount in your pocket for the future.

another thing , lets not use or believe that bitcoin is an answered question to our needs because never forget that this is a two way
investment , there is no permanent profiting and besides majority of the time is failure if you know nothing about the circulation and movement.
It's true that we should enjoy what we have collected, of course we have to leave a certain amount of Bitcoin for investment. After starting a family, of course we will experience many needs and we have responsibilities towards our wife, if we can't leave Bitcoin for investment then we have to start collect it again so that we can reinvest because there will be many needs that we need after we become husbands.
I think, OP is aware that he should still continue investing in bitcoin after their wedding day because building a family is equivalent of having more responsibilities and needs a financial stability, It's hard to leave or to stop investing in bitcoin especially that he will be having a family in the future and for me, Once you used to invest, you will be doing it in your entire life because you've build your knowledge and skills regarding investment and trading, so the mentality of how to develop being a financially stable is always in yours.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting today. on: November 19, 2023, 09:22:25 AM
The winner is Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, and the odds was +1200. Lucky for those who spotted it right!

I actually stopped watching the show when the Philippines wasn't included in the top 5. She got a lot of awards, so it's surprising that she wasn't part of the top 5. I thought she'd perform better in the Q and A part. The odds could have been better than the winner, which is at +1400.
Same here, I stopped watching the live show after they announced the top 5 Finalist and PH is not included, However I think there's something fishy with the result because MU2023 Instagram page's posted the top 5 Finalist wherein Philippines is included. Anyways, Ms.Nicaragua is my bet since 1st day, I have no idea that there's a MU betting today, If only I had known, I would have won. Congrats to the new Ms. Universe 2023, To all participants and most specially, Congrats to Nicaragua for having the first ever Ms. Universe Crown title, which remarks in their country's history.
1199  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tarot cards gamit pang predict ng market? on: November 19, 2023, 08:25:29 AM

1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: November 19, 2023, 08:16:38 AM
Really not a good idea, because gambling is prohibited and is I think against the company's rules. Even with free time it is still unethical to do gambling within the company's premises. Behavior like that won't be tolerated and can lead to the person responsible get fired.
If your company tracks your online company then it is definitely a no go for you to do gambling in your office or at work but if they do not do the tracking then why not do it sneakily, doing sports betting does not need your whole attention so you can just place your bet and just wait for it if you have made the right bet. Also, this question does not have an absolute answer because it can depend on your work and the scheduling in your work, like me I am currently writing this post while I am at my break meaning that I can also do my gambling right now if I want to but as you've said, it's unethical to do but I am not really a fan of all work no play lifestyle so I do not condone having to gamble while working or at work.
Even if you're working remotedly or not, it is not right for you to combine time with work and gambling because there's an impact between both sides. Even if you're a multitasker, you have to focus on one thing while you're at your working hours. Respect the company rules and have an integrity. Better to gambling if you are on your working hours break and that's reasonable because you are not doing any work related while on your break.
