421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MATIC or DOT? on: January 21, 2024, 06:18:15 PM
MATIC is a deflationary token while DOT is rather inflationary as new tokens keep getting into circulation. Depending on your investment goal, How long you plan to invest, etc, you should decided based on that first. Secondly, one common thing to consider is the price of these coins. In most cases people would rather buy the cheaper one as there is that sentiment that their prices can more easily get doubled. Which I believe is one of your questions.

This is what project teams used to convince you guys and then you fall for them. Inflationary and deflationary $hit without any valuable thing to show the public. If Meme coins can get the hype and all kind of shilling to be pump, you still think that in 2024 words like deflationary and Inflationary really work on coins? This is not like Bitcoin that people valued mostly where circulation supply and total supply matter a lot.

Dot is having underground team issues and that's why you have not heard a lot from them, that is what happen when group of people have different idea to build a project and it is surprising to say that DOT founder was Ethereum developer that left the group to form Polkadot but they didn't get too much attention like Matic that was formerly Polygon, they are here way before even Polkadot schematic plans where put into papers.

Matic won my heart in all areas of Ethereum virtual machine but they did something last year that I see as law of karma. When Solana was sinking, one of the largest NFT project Degods were having issues because of liquidity but then can manage if they really want to but Matic lobby them with grants to come to Matic chain which they did, the news did a lot PR for Matic price and Solana sink even more because then the ongoing liquidity war was extreme but I was shock when Degods plummet when there was attempted NFT dump on Matic market, should I called that scam exit or liquidity exit? Well Matic is still dealing with SEC hunt for been tagged as security.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: January 20, 2024, 09:06:07 PM
Most dead cryptocurrencies came from projects launched during the 2020 - 2021 bull run. 7,530 cryptocurrencies from that period have died, accounting for 53.6% of all dead cryptocurrencies on CoinGecko. Over 11,000 cryptocurrencies were listed on CoinGecko during the previous bull run, with ~70% having shut down since."

___
Officially, only 50% are scam and unsuccessful projects

The truth is bitter they say but if we are to be pop and plain about some altcoins project, they don't need to ever be in existence. The smart people are quick to smell them when they are scam from far but more than half of people that joined crypto today are new people and they so cherish this new project, this is why scams doesn't go down as we expected. Some projects team needs to be arrested from seeing their white paper but we want decentralization didn't we? This is what we get because nobody access them until the scam has been done before they start hunting them.

Defi was among word that successfully penetrated into the heart of many in the last bullrun. If you should check the coingecko Defi page, you will be surprised how worthless some of them has turned, some doesn't have volume, many abandoned without liquidity, no building as they promised and if I'm very sure that before the launch of this projects, heavenly promises on earth were said to the investors.

I hope that people that were here in the last bullrun are still here, some of these coins might come back and if they do, sell all of them and never look back again and if you must look for another opportunity in this new coming bullrun, please use 3 eyes instead of your 2 eyes. I mean you should do a proper research and thorough check on the team as well.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Three gems in my view on: January 20, 2024, 08:47:13 PM
Sui, Arbitrum, optimism I guess you guys are fimilar with there 3 altcoins, which are less then 1year old, launched in 2023. When i track their performance i feel wonder cause they are owning layer-two blockchain and their growth speed is very higher then others good Altcoins. I found these altcoins Valuable for holding. What is your opinion about these altcoins? Are you holding any of these or have any plan to buy?

I remember how this 3 project were launched back then and I have good feelings about them but some parameters change my opinion about them. I will start with each of them:

SUI: I started following this project immediately after Aptos was launched but because things got delayed due to FTX collapse, they slow down since they were among the largest venture capitals that invested on them but out of no where, the team returned back FTX investment that was worth about $100m and then took back their coin and went mainnet and conducted IEO on different exchange but they didn't do on Binance, that's another thing that raised my doubt, and also the launch was really rushed even the network throughput is lower compared to the testnet and now it's stuck in the monthly token dump of investors, hopefully they lock token of public sale get unlock quickly to avoid these usual dump.

Arbirtrum: a good layer two, very fast and trusted but it use Weth as gas fees instead of its own token and I asked so many questions why create a token when it's not a the product of the project but the answer I get is that it's a foundation growth and development of the ecosystem. If you observed Arb token, traders don't trade them despite how the platform is growing with total lock up values. You shouldn't expect much from Arb token.

Optimism: Another coin that is not too different from Arbirtrum but because of the Zk rollup hype is still new to the crypto so people are using it to hype the project, it's a good project to looking into this year.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 20, 2024, 08:23:00 PM
My friends aunty called him on the call while we were conversing today, and  she was complaining about how her son has withdrawn #20,000 approximately $15 from her account through mobile transfer to play bet and he lost it all.
She complained bitterly and pitifully because she struggled to safe such amount of money.

My question is how old is the child? I believe from your narration, he is still below 18 years old which is below the age bracket of gambling and this is wrong in all directions. How does he even open account in the first place and how did he sent out the money from his mother phone without her consent, there should be evidence of transfer or perhaps she neglected that. The mother should investigate him how he opened the account and what influence him to do that because I think some people really influence his child to gambling.

Quote
Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?

The parent should not scared him, I know how painful it's for a mother to see his child behaves the way you don't expect but instead of been harsh towards him, ask him nicely so he can open up because if you want to forcefully discipline him, he will hide some information out of fears and he will surely go back to that gambling. I'm sure you guys don't want to lose another brother as a gambling addict.

You guys should tell him what gambling is about, the implications and the risk because he has develop the mind of doubling money from the way he's starting, who lose $15 all to gamble. You guys should be more open and free to get all information and tell him too to avoid complications.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2024, 08:10:03 PM
Let's take a moment to congratulate Fabrizio Romano who has won the trophy for Best Digital  Journalist 2023 who is always at the forefront in providing information  about the world of football. We are  increasingly enthusiastic about the news he brings on his social media both X and TikTok. In my opinion he deserves  this award because he is considered the closest agent to any football player especially Europe. I also hope that this year there  will be big player transfer news that will attract attention, of course Fabrizio will  be at the forefront and the level of accuracy will always be proven.

I have accepted Fabrizio to the extent that any football speculations that doesn't comes from him, then it should be considered as fake news. Man is so consistent that even other media that has studio are way below him, his social media handles does the work for him. I remembered a time when he was asked about how he got his information from because they always seems legit and he said he doesn't even do much, even the players and agent forward him the information and asked him to post for the public to know, this shows how big he has become and respectfully delivers absolute and concrete information, he deserves this award just like Messi deserve the Balon D'or.

Mbappe has seen his condition at PSG realistically, he only earns money there but has very little chance of winning the UCL trophy. Moving from PSG was the final solution for him who still really wanted to experience the pleasure of touching this prestigious trophy. He is still young, his career still has a long way to go, moving to another club would not only open up the opportunity to win the UCL trophy but could also give him the chance to win the Ballon D'or.

You guys says the Champions League like he is the only guy capable of winning it alone. He couldn't with Messi and Neymar including him together, how is he going to win it now when there has not even been a good relationship between him and PSG. He is well paid but for his age, money ought should be his least priority now, he should focus on his gallery and more things to achieve for his own personality. If he do this, money will come later, he should learn from Christian Ronaldo and his influence in Saudi Arabia today, he said some gibberish comments by comparing Saudi Arabia League with Ligue1 and I don't blame him, he is a star that's why. Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ?  If not, how much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning ?

If there is an award of the year that goes to the most discussed thread on gambling section, then I will say this similar question is a standing ovation because this question get repeated atleast twice in a month. I have seen this topic before and it might likely appear again. Is there reason to why or it's a common thinking that people want to retire with gambling money, this is ridiculous to be honest.

If you don't win jackpot that worth millions of dollars, how do you even retire from gambling and it's not like it's a constant flow of money from gambling, it's not a fixed money you can put mind on. If you want another thing for retirement, go and make investment or maybe start building a company today and be selling a product, if you don't have the power or zeal to continue again, then you can quit the business and sell it for a big amount so you can retire and enjoy the money for the rest of the days you have remaining on earth.

I don't think it's even ideal to ask this kind of question, how do you even retire from casino games or should I say sport games? Maybe when you win something reasonable, start a business and then use that for retirement.

Sacking Mourinho now is a bad decision. You don't expect them to keep him till things get worse than it already is? They're 9th on the table and I don't see how there can be a turnaround this season with Mourinho in charge. Mourinho is a manager who has a short-term impact on any team he manages, so if good results don't come, there's no point keeping him for long hoping for things to change.

I also think they were to quick in letting Mourinho live the club, I'm not too convince that they both pathways in good faith between him and Roma but I think I saw one of his videos trending on Tiktok some few weeks ago making some dancing moves, maybe he wasn't too focus that's why they let him go. Grin Joke aside, if there is no selfish interest going on in that club, Roma are still in good place because even he last season, they needed in 6th place to qualify for Europa conference league and now they are in number 9, it's not good and the same time it's not poor to me.

Quote
As for De Rossi, the contract was a short-term contract. He's a legend of the club. Someone who knows the club well and understands what the club wants. He might be a bad decision since he's inexperienced or he might be what Roma needs right now. Either way, it's a short-term contract so there's no big deal about it.

Someone who knows the club is the new trend of managers teams are now using to guide teams. Maybe they are inspired by Xavi and Arteta journey so far but even if it he didn't meet to their expectations, the contract is short and he can park his luggage's and live immediately but I'm sure he wouldn't want that for himself. He will improve and do more to get that permanent place in Roma. I just hope the team connect well in order to impress the team because it's one thing to work is another for the team coperation.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 19, 2024, 08:58:13 PM
I have come across Local gamblers who are addicted to gambling and had ruined their selves by themselves til they ran bankrupt yet they borrows money to gamble at all means even While being indebted.
Theses sets of gamblers doesn't have remorse nor conscience about their gambling lifestyles instead their friends and relatives are the ones who bears the shameful consequences the addicted gambler brought to their circle of relationships.

This kind of gamblers feel remorseful, they don't just care about what other people feels around them, they only care about their own feelings and satisfaction. Observe very well people that love alcohol and like drinking to stuppor, they drink in the morning, drink in the afternoon and drink in the night and their is always miserable any time you meet them, they are not different from gamblers that are addicted to gambling, they play without thinking and if they do, it's always nonsense strategy that might not favour them

Quote
At the virtue of getting the unbearable situations to an end, the relatives broadcasts the chronic addicted gambler at all costs of gambling boards never to give him privileges to gamble in any of the Gambling arenas anymore else they (the relatives) would sue the gambling boards owner.
This is just how recklessness could mess your life of you can't take control to gamble responsibly.

Take note and be aware that your way of gambling could affect your relationships and the circle of your relatives.

Some of them do comes to their senses but they must have live with that addicted life for all they care and if they later realized it doesn't favour them, that's when they quit. I have seen this guys that will use his mum restaurant money for gambling and the mom has to cry because she don't even know what to do with him anytime he use his business money to gamble. In short, never pray for any gambler close to you with addiction, they suffer from depression and it makes them even to do more stupid things that affect them and their families.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 19, 2024, 08:45:15 PM
I don't know if everyone is aware of this that the more risks you takes on your predictions is the more higher the game odds, and this set of gambling demands lower stakes due to the chances to win is extremely high. Strategically, you are trying to safe your funds from some sort of impossible winning because it is obvious that you are daring the game with such high risks.

And the lower risks you takes on your predictions is the smaller the game odds which you may demand higher stakes to secure an appreciative winning. Although there is still no assurance of winning here for winning in gambling is strictly game of luck.

This is all about you either faces your fears and ready to accept what it brings or you withdraws from your fears and minimizes the threats outcomes.

You can also make some awful predictions with a single stake and win nothing. It's all depend on what you present on your ticket. If you have for instance Manchester City against Tottenham and you picked Tottenham over City, then you have low chances of winning that game than when you pick Manchester City. You can do this on single bet and you wouldn't even win anything but if you choose a good team that is on form with a team that is not stable, even with more similar risky games you will win more.

Your line of predictions is another factor you should consider on what this guys pick. I will use my previous example of Manchester City and Tottenham for this example again. If you select that two teams and you expect to them to have over goals, you can have the option of over 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and over 4.5 and from this, it's is easy for that two teams to achieve over 1.5 goals but a greedy bettor will choose over 2.5 because the odd is high than over 1.5. This is why is said your strategy also contribute to how risky your bets will look and the outcome later.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 19, 2024, 08:02:23 PM
Imagine that there is such a rehabilitation clinic for people who are addicted to gambling. Now imagine what they treat there without the use of pharmacology.

Is gambling that addicted that we have started to assume this kind of situation and solutions? I thoughy gambling addiction is not that deap except maybe in movies like I saw in "Squid game" a Korea movie that went viral, the movie was about gamblers that risk their lives for winning big amounts of jackpot but almost all of them died in the film because of their greediness.

The addicted gamblers I have seen have somethings in common such as been depressed and the ones that has loss huge amount of money will go any extra length to gamble with any money that comes their way. They see money for feeding as a way to gamble, they are also fund of borrowing money to gamble and all this can be solve by immediate person around them by changing their environment, the type of people they follow, the way they work and also their activities, if they have much time in their days occupied them and make sure they are busy especially if it involves money that must be going through account that must be put on watch so they don't make any snicky moves. The rehab is not necessary in my opinion.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 19, 2024, 07:54:27 PM
Yes gambling wins can bring about a whole lot of joy and relief. Definitely when a gambler makes wins he would be very happy especially in cases where he never thought he would. Sometimes when gamblers stake they put little belief in the amount they may win especially when the odds of winning are thin.

This can only happen as luck and how often they occur is very rare and because of that I don't think this is a viable advice thing to do. Gambling is luck but for a person that doesn't have a source of money shouldn't come close to it because how and when do you even win will be hard and just because you see Mr. A was lucky to gamble some cent to win thousands in return doesn't mean you can have the same thing because even entropy time and randomness is different in gambling, the time also a factor to win as well talking from casino games perspective.

Quote
This is not to say that gamblers should put too much hope when they stake as there are always chances of losses and sometimes even when These chances are low the gambler could still end up with a loss. One should try not to put too much hope on the wins and also endeavor to stake responsibly.

Hope is something gamblers should avoid, having it in mind expecting a potential profit is very bad but instead of that, you should be optimistic about the result. When you have profits, you should appreciate yourself and your strategy for making it and if you lose, you should inspired yourself to try again and again but this time, you should work on your strategy else you will only lose and lose with making any money and make sure to bet with the amount you can afford to lose to avoid regret later.

I believe Manchester City will treat Haaland very well, just like PSG treats Mbappe and it make Mbappe don't want to leave. However Real Madrid still have an another choice even they can't get either Haaland or Mbappe, it's Osimhen.

What do you mean by the word "treat"? As in been treated well financially or homely? If it's financially I will say Yes and it's nothing special, the relationship that bond Mbape and PSG is his talent to play and get paid in return, they like him and want to keep him because he is good and they have the resources to entice him to stay in their club but the fans and the club maltreated him when he doesn't want to stay, very toxic club while Haaland is treated homely and financially, you hardly hear of them fight between players and the managers or even the club.

Quote
Napoli isn't a big team, they don't have a good amount of money if Osimhen insist to increase his salary. Napoli isn't a strong team too, they won in the last season, but they can't be consistent. While Real Madrid, they can pay high salary and they're one of strongest football team who tend to become champion.

When are you guys going to stop this Osimhen transfer discussion, he has just recently signed a new deal with Napoli that he is going to stay still 2026 which I think he is choice, he might see what we are not seeing but even me I don't like the fact that he still remain in that club but it's what it's, his choice and we can't take that but know him for one thing that he is smart, there will be option for a buy in that new contract so that he can live anytime if he is not satisfy again.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 18, 2024, 08:01:02 PM
Arsenal shaky this season and they're no longer in the top four this season after they declined in their performance in matches. Arsenal headcoach, Mikel Arteta have numerous options to triggered in the transfer window. He has scouts for potential forwards in the team. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Edward Keddar Nketiah and Leandro Trossard, these are the frontlines that are held for the solidable foundation of the club. They're important and if Mikel Arteta valued them, he would worked on developing them and not search outside for new strikers because I see nothing wrong with the current condition of the club.

The above players that you mentioned are the future of Arsenal but I think the manner he used them is controversial. Gabriel Jesus and Nketkiah contributions can never be denied but I think last season when Jesus went for Injury, Nketkiah prove himself as a good center forward for Arsenal, even this season has been incredible result as well because he has 6 goals for the season while Jesus has 7 but priority is always given for Jesus to start matches. For example, their last match against Newcastle, they started Havertz and then later replace it with Nketkiah in 88 minutes, isn't that a bad balling.

The second leg is going to be a motivation for Arsenal seriousness, I think there is going to be a big battle, the losses they have had over the weeks is enough to do well and better. If Arteta is able to bring new players as the match progress, it is going to bring a lot of PR and will help to win matches. I just hope even if we don't take the first place in Premier League this season, we should be able to finish among the top 4.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 07:15:12 PM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

Are you serious about this or you are saying a literal meaning to what you are going through. If someone is consuming a food that is harmful to his body system and the doctor prescribed to him to stop eating that food but he choose to continue, then I believed he choose to die and you situation is the same right now. You know very well about your situation very well which you were able to detect your self but I'm surprised that you are still asking. If you value your life, Pease quit gambling and focus on other aspects of life, gambling is not the only thing to do because it's clear that you are gambling for financial reasons and not for fun.

Quote
It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

I'm still surprised to what kind of addicted gambler you are but I understand your situation as well but where are you getting the money you are using for gambling? You seem like a person that knows what he is doing and I think you know the source of your depression. If you are losing money as you are gambling, please stop immediately, nobody is disturbing you spiritually to gambling, it's your consciousness that is that active and makes you enjoy gambling and when it doesn't work, the guilt set in. If you are winning, you wouldn't say that isn't.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: January 18, 2024, 06:45:01 PM
I realized one thing: no matter how you play, the house will win in the end.

This is not always the case. If you are a casino favorite person, then you have to worry about that but as a sport bettor, your outcome is an outdoor activities and it depend on what they do during and after that event like football is entirely dependent on the outcome, the house doesn't have a say about this one.

Quote
I understand your feelings about being involved in gambling because I have experienced it. Therefore, I sincerely advise you to stop and find another job to do business or watch an entertaining movie to calm down.
Don't regret what you've already lost. If you stop early, you'll lose less. The deeper you sink, the more you'll lose. "Gamblers" also regret that if they could turn back time, they would never, even once, get involved in gambling. They have lost too much because of gambling: their future, their youth, their health, their family's happiness, and their vast, valuable assets. I am also luckier than many people, knowing how to stop in time.

What I hate about gambling is that when people are gambling and they encounter losses, it is aways difficult for them to navigate out of the situation particularly the addicted type of gamblers. Anytime they have loss, is either they chase what they have loss or the try to gamble more to get more profits and it's always wrong. Think it's ideal of a gambler to stop gambling for that moment when he got a 3 loss in row.
The worst set of gamblers are the ones that love to bet on borrow funds, they are always ready to take risk that will always hurt them back and that's a bad practice to engage.

Nepa have f*cked me up, and I totally forget the time this match was scheduled to be played, I should have fueled my generator on time so as to be able to watch this match, now, I've missed it and totally sad about it.

Anyways, I am following the scores online, and the first half just passed a couple of minutes ago, there are no goals yet, but I am happy that some of us here are praising our super eagles for their well play, and are also believing we have a chance at winning the games tonight, this is exactly what I was saying in the morning on this thread, I personally believe the super eagles will not disappoint us, this game will rather end in a draw instead if the super eagles don't win.

Edit: Nigeria 1 : 0 Ivory coast

The Nigeria Nepa has shown you their true color. Unlike those days when Nigeria use to have matches like this, the give national light on throughout that day to make everyone entertain and happy but they don't do that anymore or perhaps because the power holding company of Nigeria is now privatise but on a second thought, the privatization should have improve it because we are paying for the light, it should be available.

I think the Nigerian team are not doing well with this game despite now that the are leading with a goal, Nigeria team lack a play maker, the 5 and 11 are just useless and not doing what they are meant to do and there is no any form of connectivity between them. If not for that Penalty, we might not even go far in this game and what I fear most is what they are going to do after this group, that is if they even keep this match without conceding any goal from Ivory Coast.

Beginners who are desperate to make money will fall for an offer like this , and if you go through the comments sections their are so many people who are so interested in this. Like if you go through the write up of this dude who claims to be bitcoin expert he said those that are finding it difficult to create a wallet he will help in creating the wallet and funding it. This is how many people will make mistakes to accept offer like this just because they want to earn quick.

Spending time to learn pays a lot and it prevent people from making painful mistakes. For those that have knowledge about wallet won't fall victim of allowing anyone to assist to create wallet. Spending time to learn is not a waste, it saves money from entering the wrong hands.

This is a normal culture on facebook and you know why? Its because Facebook love lies, sometimes when I see how some people love to watch pranks and comedy to think they are real cracks me up, these kind of stuff looks real to them more reasons why you see this type of posts saturated everywhere especially if you visit crypto groups and pages, it is full of spams and the facebook moderations don't take care of these posts.

I think only a person who has never heard of crypto will believe this typical scams and Binance tricks or any person that has not use an exchange before but to me, this is one of the most simple scam any literate person can sight from far because they too obviouis. Beside even if you want to help teach them about crypto, they don't want to listen but when they hear about free money making through crypto, they are quick to go after them and fall for the same scams they want to warn them about but wouldn't listen because of greed and illiteracy.

Hi everyone.

I'm the creator of Cogitex, and I'm reaching out to you with questions to better understand what matters to people.

How can you build trust in the crypto community, and what do you think Cogitex can do to earn your trust?

I'm ready to hear from each and every one of you. Share your experiences and ideas. Do you think the development of Cogitex and cryptocurrencies in general can be improved?

You build trust when you make things crystal clear for the people and make it transparent as possible. Going through your whitepaper, it is nothing but just a two page summary about the project without proper indepth explanation. I'm not sure if you know the difference between a whitepaper and a litepaper, what you have on your website as whitepaper is not it, that is a litepaper with summary of your project, whitepaper tells people about your project and it build more trust on the project.

Code:

This is your project smart contract, the last time it was used was 41 days ago, seems people didn't turnout on the token sale. If you did crowdfunding and softcap wasn't reach, you don't have to force the project to go live, you should have build and improve the product to gain more venture capitals attention to your project but the project was rush and now the few people that invested has left.

In addition, I can't find the team or anything related to the team behind the project. People around the project i nfluence the growth of the project. If today Vitalik tweet about your project, trust me it will gain some ROI pretty fast in 24 hours, that is how influence and trust are build by the team, I hope you work on these problems.

Hi all!
Previously I created a topic about buying an apartment.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462550.0
At the moment I have saved up about 18 thousand $, the profit is currently 35%.
Please give comments about the quality of the assets in the portfolio and the possible profits that can be expected.

Consistency has brought you this far and I'm happy you have been holding but I don't quite like how people ask for other opinions about there investment. There are some people that will hive a honest one and be ready to get some that will come from signature quota men that will say meaningless discussion and even confuse you even more. Since you asked for the opinion and advice, I will drop mine.

BTC

Blackrock and Vanguard with many more institutions asked for Bitcoin ETF but seems the organization behind ETF approval doesn't like them and they don't want to be shame in court, so they decide to approve it and then stab them at the back and now they are all disappointed in SEC and even Vanguard for not wanting to support bitcoin ETF anymore.

You see the rest of thees, you might not get exactly information about them but make sure you are taking profits on them when you had one because they can go up all they like and then shamelessly come down, you don't want to see your profits disappear after waiting for so many days only for not having profits again.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins are likely to go up when BTC goes down? on: January 14, 2024, 07:13:49 PM
A guy once told me, altcoins generally do what bitcoin does, but to a larger extent.

So BTC goes up 10% --> Alts go up 20%
BTC goes down 10% --> Alts go down 20%

This is true but as they said that experience is the best explanation, if you haven't experienced anyone before you might not know the true meaning of this because there is more to what he said to you.

There is Bitcoin season and there is altcoins season, Bitcoin market can pump for 2 weeks straight and it's possible that altcoins will remain stagnant and few will pump during that time, it's like that because everyone will be focus on the bitcoin market but as soon as the Bitcoin market is done, it will might do some corrections and then remain between some price but the fluctuations will not be that significant. This is when altcoins pickup and there moves is usually a fast and furious one, a coin can pump for 2 weeks straight and will not stop with 1000% and you will think it's stopping only for them to continue until market is stop by some news where it might do a heavy fall or correction for good coins, meme usually collapse after this kind of pumps.

Is there any alternative to cashing out and paying enormous taxes? It makes no sense to swap 100k worth of BTC to an altcoin when we expect a BTC crash of 40%, when all other altcoins are likely to crash even harder.

I wish there was something that behaved conversely to the BTC price.

The market don't crash unless there is something that happened but because of the volatility nature of Bitcoin, they fall harder than bitcoin. When Bitcoin was having a small market and liquidity, it use to do what altcoins are doing today but with time it grow to become more stabilize due to the liquidity surrounding it. It's either you stick to Bitcoin, altcoins or hold stablecoins, it's as simple as that.
