441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price on: March 07, 2019, 01:12:13 PM
Well as far bitcoin is concern, I do not agree that it is only demand and supply that affects the price. If we saybis only demand and supply , how come we experienced a crash in early last year after we had the ATH. I think fud and the bubble story are also part of what affects price.

You also need to understand that the market works in cycles, last 2017 was the last great bullish cycles and eventually everyone was caught in the hysteria and thinking it won't go down, unfortunately a new cycle risen that up to this point, we are still experiencing it and no one knows for sure when it's going to end.

that is a very good point and people don't seem to take lessons from the history and the mistakes they have made. now they are repeating the same mistake again but in the opposite direction! now that price has dropped for so long, they are caught in a different type of hysteria and are starting to think that the drop has to continue forever!
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Get Rich Quick - Bitcoin on: March 07, 2019, 12:10:07 PM
is it just me or lately TV is starting to be filled with cryptocurrency related contents? initially it was only news when they constantly talked about bitcoin whenever its price was rising and during its bubble but nowadays it seems like there are a lot of documentaries, TV series,... that are focusing on bitcoin and other alternatives. and the contents seem to be getting better too, it is not yet the best because they are still focusing mostly on the drama rather than technology and what bitcoin represents but we are slowly getting there.

Edit - I wonder how many people will only reply to the Thread title and not on the content of the actual topic now.  Roll Eyes
LOL with the bold and underline thing in first line it is a wonder really Smiley
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ‘Won't Turn Out to Be a Complete Delusion' on: March 07, 2019, 11:46:19 AM
Later, after few months/years, both took U-turn. While JPM launched their own blockchain and Mr. Buffet has reportedly invested $600 million in two fintech companies. Niall Ferguson is just another addition to that list! Thanks to these master fellow for free bitcoin promotion!

neither of these two are considered "U-turn". they both are still on the same path as they were before with the same mentality about bitcoin.
- JP Morgan is threatened by bitcoin because as bitcoin grows, their power shrinks and they can continue their corrupted ways and their revenue is going to be cut short. the only reason why they created their own cryptocurrency is because they are afraid of bitcoin and don't want to be fallen behind.
- Buffet doesn't understand or wants to understand bitcoin, he is old school and believes that only businesses and factories that produce something physical or give some sort of service are worth investing in. which is why he invested in the companies not in bitcoin itself.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: three important elements on: March 07, 2019, 11:38:32 AM
I think that blockchain has a higher sense than value, so BTC and crypto always need trust, and trust in BTC is not created suddenly. so the blockchain has three important elements
1. a distributed transaction ledger
2. consensus algorithm
3. cash units.
if these three elements are not perfect, they are only called ordinary data structures and are useless.

Um, what? Blockchains have number 1 and number 2 by default. If not, then they're not really blockchains, or at least not the ones that we have now.

What are cash units, even? Are you saying that the blockchain is bigger than Bitcoin, but that they need to be used in a monetary way and are otherwise useless?

oh good, it is not just me that finds OP's post very strange and can't make sense of it! I believe he is lost in translation or possibly is confused about what blockchain technology really means.

and what's up with the term "trust" I have seen many others use it before too when they want to talk about cryptocurrencies and in those cases they meant to say have "faith" in the altcoin blindly. something like trusting the altcoin dev to deliver what he promises and invest in it without thinking. I don't know if that is what OP meant but if it is I have to say that is a wrong way of thinking. there is no trust in decentralization. everything is either work as they should or the system is broken and should die.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most prominent crypto investor on: March 07, 2019, 11:29:37 AM
there is no "crypto industry" and there is no point in revealing your financial matters to others. nobody ever does that and it has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies! for example start from yourself will you publicly reveal your identity and tell us how much money you have, where do you have it and where you live?
obviously if you have half a brain you wouldn't do that. just the other day, there was a news in this topic about a trader who was boasting his profits and was attacked by some thieves! simply because he was advertising and sending them an invitation to come and steal his money!!!
446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to calculate sell after all fees on: March 05, 2019, 04:15:02 PM
I playing around with scripts in QT Bitcoin Trader.

just remember that making consistent profit does not depend on using a script with a bot, it most of all depends on your ability to speculate the direction of the market and place appropriate orders that are not in the opposite direction of where the market is going towards.
it may not look like it as we currently are in a stable phase where price is going up and down within a fixed channel but it will eventually exit it and that can easily wipe out all these tiny profits that you accumulated over days or weeks in one go.
447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best small exchanges that you really like on: March 05, 2019, 04:01:01 PM
as an ICO project you should focus on creating something useful and doing some actual work with the free money that you are asking people to pay you for releasing a pointless token that has no utilities! if you focus on that, and try to actually create something that has utilities and make it so that it is going to be used then you wouldn't need to worry about where you should list it! the popularity and usefulness of it would do that for you.
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: The decline has slowed down, the bears are still dominant on: March 05, 2019, 03:19:57 PM
The next major move that can break the resistance is subject to a major fundamental announcement else the price will continue to range within $3700+ having been in that range for long until the recent rumoured ETF  approval leaked out before the price rally upward I believe the same scenario will repeat itself in an upcoming positive announcement.
There are plenty of reasons for bitcoin price to test again $4200 levels again but I still could not figure out why it suddenly fell down on last Sunday up to $3800 levels in less than 5 hours of trading. But, the good news is the range of bitcoin's movement has improved a bit. The next range would be up to $4700 levels and then bitcoin may stay above $4000 levels afterward.

I assume bears have lost their dominance and at the same time bulls not yet gaining the full strength. It is usually take more time for bulls to get into action in full pledged. But, we can be relaxed in mean time as bears are getting out of scenes slowly.

It's quite possible that the market had a correction so it fell to $3800 again. Even while it's no longer bearish as before, we may not be entering a bull stage as early as now. It may be a while before we break throung $4700 and experience steady levels above $4K. There's still some resistance as we can see that the price still falls. I just bet that many are happy with how the price levels are right now as they are anticipating for a bull run soon. Even without an upcoming positive announcement, we can expect a difference in the price trend now.

true but also we may be entering a new bull market since all the signs of it are there.
we have the high volume specially on OTC markets with lots of buys taking place and we also have the strong resistance that has been all over the $3k range making it tough to go any lower. and also we saw the first signs of reversal with the rise to $4200 which was pretty positive and the correction of it was also natural showing the healthy market moving forward.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cross Blockchain Interoperability using Lightning Network on: March 05, 2019, 03:03:00 PM
This problem "scalability problem" appeared in ETH due to the fullness of the network especially with lots of ERC20 tokens.

that is an over simplified way of looking at "scaling issue". the fact is scaling is not just having full blocks, it is about not being able to process more than certain number of transactions which is only partly limited by the block size.
in case you have forgotten, ETH scaling problem was not just about fullness of blocks, it was mostly because of how the network was incapable of processing anything anymore. all the exchanges went dark as soon as there was a surge of number of transactions and that happened multiple times where they had to shut down every deposit and withdrawal because the whole network was down!
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to relieve stress from "crypto" scammers when all you value is bitcoin? on: March 05, 2019, 02:11:52 PM
I don't think people actually look for "next" bitcoin, it is rather the creator of those shitcoins that brainwash the sheep that are following them into thinking their useless shitcoin is a replacement for bitcoin so that they can pump it for a while and fill their pockets with their money before they move on to better things.

Quote
Trading Shit-Coins to Waste Time (and Money)
not knowing what they are doing is a waste of time, otherwise there is a big market of shitcoins that are getting pumped, if people stop having illusions about these shitcoins they can actually benefit from the idiocy of others  Wink
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Cryptos” - A new tv show about cryptocurrency on: March 05, 2019, 01:59:38 PM
I personally think this type of show, if done well, can raise a lot of awareness about bitcoin and move the market forward, so i'm excited! What do you guys think?

I am with you on this but that little part I bold in your comment is the key and it may sound easy but it rarely is done right! many of them only focus on what is "hot" because it is a TV show after all and you can't focus on boring stuff like the technology. everyone wants to see the pump and dumps and the exciting roller-coaster that is the market.
and the worst part of it is that they also sometimes focus ONLY on the negative parts and put them under magnifying glass. all of which is going to be more damaging than anything else.
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: i'm lost my bitcoins on: March 05, 2019, 01:49:14 PM
if you had googled the name "cryptoesto" before you listened to that "friend" of yours then you would have seen that out of the first 10 search results 9 of them are talking about how this website is a scam the remaining one is the link to the website itself!

I am honestly surprised how you trusted a random shady website suggested by an unknown person (who according to google results have been advertising it on Telegram and social media like that) with 10 bitcoin!
453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2020 Halving on: March 05, 2019, 01:46:07 PM
the effect of halving has always been 2 types which actually happen in two different time frames.

1. the hyped up effect.
this effect is short term and has been big in the past two times  and it occurs before the halving, usually in less than a month to the actual date. and price starts a big rally by then and since this is a hyped up event we will see a mini bubble which bursts and goes away.

2. the actual effects of having less new coins be created
this is the long term effect which starts after the halving, usually a month after the reward was cut in half. and this is the real deal and is much bigger than the previous one and since there is no hype involved anymore the rise is going to be sustainable.
454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shortage - Is it Possible? on: March 05, 2019, 01:35:31 PM
I personally don’t think it would ever come to that point, since the value of bitcoin adjusts to satisfy the demand. I’d like to hear other opinions?

your question doesn't have anything to do with value of bitcoin or price.

shortage of bitcoin can only happen if there were more people wanting to have some amount of bitcoin but there weren't enough for them. for example this can happen if an extremely large number of coins were lost. the amount has to be huge though, something like 15 millions bitcoin lost! but that is highly unlikely to happen.
so we will continue to have a little less than the cap which is 21000000.00000000 bitcoin and that is enough for the world.
455  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: yobit about to take off ? on: March 03, 2019, 03:50:36 PM
I really wonder why people still uses yobit, crytopia and other shit exchanges when there are so many reputed exchanges like Binance / Bittrex available?
Their exchange would actually be pretty good if it weren't for their lousy customer service and the fear that they're going to end up scamming.  The user interface is decent and it's easy to use.

Unfortunately, the good days for Yobit are long gone.  People really shouldn't be using them anymore, when there are way better exchanges out there like Binance and others.  There have been way too many complaints and scam accusations in the past couple of years for anyone to be comfortable storing significant amounts of crypto on their site.  I stopped using them about a year and a half ago--for good.

I don't think there has ever been any "good days of Yobit" ever. specially since they have always been obviously pump and dumping the coins that were listed on their exchange with fake volume. if you hang out on their platform for a while you can easily spot these coins and if you try to go against their bot, your orders will simply be ignored because they are overriding everything in the background to pump coins every day as they like and milk anybody who joins the platform and is foolish enough to get into those coins!
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH on: March 03, 2019, 03:29:01 PM
I mean, I'm pretty sure it was intended for bitcoin to have "limited functionality"

bitcoin does not have limited functionality. it has the functionality that it is supposed to have and it is fulfilling them as it is supposed to. saying otherwise is like saying "my vacuum cleaner has limited functionality because it doesn't also cook dinner for me"!
457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hodler, you motherfucker. on: March 03, 2019, 03:18:06 PM
there is a lot of profanity used here and the topic is filled with naiveté! the fact that you simply categorize people as "hodler" and insult them shows you aren't really familiar with the term. you are confusing "bag holders" with "a long term investor".

a bag holder is someone who closes his eyes and buys any shitcoin that the group he is in is telling him to buy. sometimes it is a pump group, sometimes it is another bunch of newbies like himself, sometimes it is random things he reads among the advertisements. the result is a big loss above 90%.

a long term investor is someone who looks at potential and is not so willing to trust shady exchanges that can close down at any moment. he buys that potential while others are crying about why it is not rising. for example a good buy time was when price was between $900 and $1200 and everywhere you looked idiots were saying bitcoin is in a bubble and 2013 will be repeated because price is close to the ATH of that time. the result is becoming millionaires in a couple of years.
458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we finally in BULL MARKET? on: March 03, 2019, 03:01:51 PM
First time here guys.
Lost 95% of my investment. Now gained a little more.
What's causing recent increase in price?
Did people finally realize that bitcoin is the future?

95%?In which altcoins have you invested?
You will have to wait for a long time to witness the new ATH of bitcoin/altcoins.
The number of people that relaize bitcoin is the future hasn't changed at all and it won't change soon.

if you choose the name of any altcoin you will get your answer since most of them lost somewhere between 85% to 99% of their value. specifically when people invested in ICO tokens they lost the most amount of money as they got dumped the hardest.

besides it is not about what coin to choose it is always about bad timing with bad choices. all these shitcoins got pumped and that was a huge profit but only to those who didn't stick around for more than a couple of days in those altcoins...
459  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Never use Coinbase wallet's private key back up feature on: March 03, 2019, 02:50:16 PM
every service has its usages and people really need to start learning these real use cases and stop using them for things they are not designed for. for example Coinbase is a great tool for beginners who have spent their whole lives using banks and online web wallets like Paypal and things like that and at the same time they don't want to learn about bitcoin right off the bat. so using Coinbase for these people is best to get the started and give them a way to both store and buy in the same place in a safe and moderately trusted way.
but then if you spent more time that you could no longer call yourself a "beginner" then you should not continue using Coinbase for anything anymore.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH on: March 03, 2019, 02:37:38 PM
shitcoins like ethereum can't solve their own limited functionality and the backdoors they have let alone attempt at bigger more serious stuff that bitcoin is dealing with Wink
