1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DO MOST PEOPLE FORGET BITCOIN SO SOON? on: July 25, 2018, 07:56:08 AM
actually I think it may be because they remember too well!

all the topics or even news that were published by the news sites have one thing in common and that is the fact that they all come out as FUD to increase the ongoing panic in the market and shake out the weaker hands so that the market makers can buy more cheaper coins.
the "remember" part is that in the history FUD like this has worked well so everyone wants to do it. you even see idiotic topics on bitcointalk from time to time trying to spread FUD but they make something up that doesn't even make sense!
1422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mike Novograts to CNBC: ‘I Think Bitcoin’s Price has Bottomed’ on: July 25, 2018, 07:49:29 AM
Hope those that are speculated that bitcoin will fall to $3,000 before recover can now see that thing has actually change.  The type of bullish trend we are seeing now was just like what we have last year.  Bitcoin has tried to make above $400 daily for the past few days .

no real speculator has ever actually expected the drop down to $3000. at least all the cases that I have seen and I have seen a lot, have been trolls and desperate newbies who missed the chance to buy or sold at the bottom and wanted the price to go lower so they could buy back.

and by the way $400 rise these days means 5% rise which is nothing.
1423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mike Novograts to CNBC: ‘I Think Bitcoin’s Price has Bottomed’ on: July 25, 2018, 06:34:41 AM
we have been saying bitcoin has bottomed when it was at the bottom but good for him to say it now that we are 40% above that bottom and about 1 month has passed Cheesy

Bitcoin has a great future, but it`s future isn`t actually tied to the bitcoin price(most people believe that the higher bitcoin price, the better, which might be wrong).
many people see bitcoin as an investment only so this mindset will exist and we can't do anything about it.
but there is a correlation here: better future means more adoption and a higher price as a result.

Quote
I think that the bitcoin price has to move in the range between 8K and 16K in order to be safe.Anything above 20K will raise a reg flag for the central banks and govenments and they will start all the "don`t get into this dangerous bubble!" type of  FUD propaganda.
if you think banks and government saying something negative about bitcoin is going to make it "unsafe" and threaten its future then you are admitting that bitcoin has failed as a decentralized currency that doesn't need approval of banks or the government to succeed.

not to mention that if anyone wants to start a propaganda they will do it at any price, even when price was $400 we had major FUD about bitcoin.
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are many negative issues about bitcoin, what's the matter? on: July 25, 2018, 06:19:15 AM
I hear a lot of news about Bitcoin in my country, and many articles say that negative issues like the crime in Bitcoin like phishing crimes, scammers, fake websites that cause the price of Bitcoin decreases, I always look and read news / articles explaining about the development of Bitcoin, and most say that those issues are related to the Bitcoin price, so I ask if this is true? is it true that the price of Bitcoin declines because of such issues?

no bitcoin price didn't go down because some scams have been happening. it is the other way around. meaning because bitcoin price went up and bitcoin became more popular, more people came in some of which were scumbags so the number of scams grew more.

otherwise investors in bitcoin aren't going to sell their bitcoin just because somewhere someone found some gullible people and filled his pocket using them.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk Logic! on: July 25, 2018, 06:05:31 AM
I don't really understand your logic here and your thoughts seem to be all over the place. I think you want the price to go up above $10k so you are trying hard to come up with reasons to justify that rise for yourself here. which is a wrong approach to speculation.

in any case don't worry, price will rise. we may not see it happen fast at first like last year but there will be more of a slow rise which will also be a lot more solid than these big sudden jumps.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are many negative issues about bitcoin, what's the matter? on: July 25, 2018, 05:58:37 AM
none of what you said makes any sense!
you say "many negative issues about bitcoin" then only talk about two things that are not "negative issues". one is price volatility and the other is some people scamming others!

the volatility is because of the smaller nature of the bitcoin market and the fact that it is still growing by the millions at a time each time there is a rise.
and the scams are happening like anywhere else in the world since money is involved and bitcoin is a currency like any other currency.

bitcoin price will not be affected by these.
1427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung announce to accept crypto and blockchain payment on: July 25, 2018, 05:37:13 AM
The whole idea is to stay anonymous and all these third party payment processors, destroy your pseudo anonymity.

not at all. the idea of bitcoin is a lot of things, being anonymous is not one of them.

not to mention that using a payment processor is not changing anything about how anonymous you are. (assuming Samsung accepts bitcoin payments) you would still be going on the same site or same physical shop and make the payment and whether bitcoin directly or through a payment processor you are still providing the same amount of information to that shop. the difference is that using a payment processor (a legit one like BitPay not this crappy one in this fake news) makes it easy for the shops to set it up and also makes it possible for them to receive fiat while accepting bitcoin so they are not affected by the volatility.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin price and altcoin price on: July 25, 2018, 05:25:57 AM
no they have never depended on bitcoin price.

unfortunately this year as the altcoin dumps coincided with bitcoin price drop people started thinking that altcoins must follow bitcoin everywhere but the truth is altcoins only follow the drop other than that they are only moving based on their own pump and dumps.

and right now because altcoins have been severely pumped they are continuing their dumping period until they reach a reasonable price (aka bottom) and get ready to get pumped a gain and that can take a couple of months.
1429  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dominance on: July 24, 2018, 12:27:16 PM
nobody cares about market capitalization except the altcoin bag holders who want to say their altcoin is worth something just because its market cap is higher than some abstract number. bitcoin's dominance is not its market cap and how big it is compared to the whole market.

bitcoin's dominance is the fact that it has the highest volume, the most number of investors, the most number of users including merchants and customers, and a lot of other real world factors that altcoins do not have which means bitcoin's dominance has always been near 100% even when its percentage of the market cap was going down because of altcoin pumps.
1430  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC holding it's own trend? on: July 24, 2018, 12:18:15 PM
could this be why BTC is trending up? Everyone is focusing on that?

yes this is basically what happens every time that bitcoin has a rally. people pull their orders from altcoins and come back to bitcoin market and also because of arbitrage opportunities the altcoins continue going down versus bitcoin and USD while bitcoin continues its rise.
when bitcoin stops the rise and becomes stable, then the traders go back to focus on altcoins and pumps and make profit to get ready for the next bitcoin rally.
1431  Economy / Speculation / Re: similarity to last rise on: July 24, 2018, 12:09:34 PM
... we can expect it will end similar to it.

if by "end similar" you mean go to $9k+ then fall down to $5700 then no I disagree. it won't end similar. this time even if we end up seeing another drop the bottom of the drop should technically raise up a lot because each time a trend like this shapes up the boundaries will come higher, they won't be repeated.

besides we may not see another "big drop" this time anyways....
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the lighting network eliminate most of the cryptocurrencies? on: July 24, 2018, 11:44:59 AM
Here is how I see things though, Bitcoin cannot be the only Coin on the Crypto Planet. It would go against the principle of decentralization.

I don't think it has anything to do with decentralization. it is all about the "free market" and in that sense nothing would change with Lightning Network in my opinion. there will still be the same free market and if people choose to use altcoins then they will like so far that nobody ever chose altcoins for anything except for speculation and short term trading.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MAJOR BITCOIN TRADERS JOIN FORCES TO LURE BIG INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS on: July 24, 2018, 11:32:33 AM
we need natural adoption for bitcoin where people see what bitcoin is as a decentralized currency and then choose freely to use it as such. we don't need to "lure in" any investors to come and buy bitcoin as speculation and pump the price up so that you can sell your coins at a higher price and be happy about a short lived profit that doesn't last.
we need real adoption where merchants start accepting bitcoin as payment and people all around the world freely use bitcoin without needing any third parties, governments approval, banks,... that is when bitcoin will grow and you can make "real profit" since that is the thing most people care about not with "institutional investors" coming in to speculate.
1434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees on: July 24, 2018, 11:14:17 AM
How are the Bitcoin fees for transactions compared to the fees for ethereum ? I researched about the fees, but I would like to know  perspectives for future, and how different coins are basing their fees. I know both coins have a huge growing potential, which is good, but the down side is related to the fees.
When we are talking about fees, actually it depends on how many transactions which made to the coin (bitcoin or etherium). When people use bitcoin most. It means that the fees will be high, it will be happen the same on eth too
Totally agree. Moreover, it IS happenning on Ethereum, too, just look at what happened with the congestions caused by the apps (e.g. Crypto Kittie App). The congestion then causes transaction fees to increase to astronomical levels and here we are: bitcoin or ethereum, it doesn't matter.

there is a big difference though!
the backlog in bitcoin was 90% spam attack against the network and most of that attack was from different campaigns wanting to force their scaling solution on bitcoin for their own purpose.
the backlog in ethereum was simply usage of it from ICOs and lots of other pointless transactions that are naturally occurring on it.

the difference is that bitcoin can handle its current adoption needs and handles the users' transactions well. but ETH can not even handle a small surge of transactions.
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralized cryptography?!? Is there cause for concern? on: July 24, 2018, 10:59:19 AM
the centralized altcoins are not a cause of concern and they will never be.
however the newbishness of people who get involved in them is a big cause of concern in my opinion. you see when some altcoin is centralized but admits it, I don't see anything wrong with it. for example we have government issued centralized coins like Petro, we have centralized stable coins like Tether, ... and these are fine. but we have centralized altcoins which claim to be decentralized and fool people like XRP, ETH,... that is bad and the more people fall for the lies things would become worse.
1436  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hedge fund manager predicts bitcoin is going to straight 10k to 20k on: July 24, 2018, 10:52:36 AM
everyone seems to become experts these days about bitcoin and its price so they want to spread their "expertise" about it also! and all of them without any exception are fools trying to gain some momentary fame on the internet and at the same time make their names heard.
otherwise they have no understanding of how bitcoin market works. sometimes their guesses come true and most of the times they are just forgotten since their guesses were pure bullshit.
in any case clickbait sites like the one OP is advertising love this kind of news.
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's gonna happen if Bitcoin gets ETF approval??? All about bitcoin ETF on: July 23, 2018, 11:35:16 AM
There are three things that are possibly going to occur if bitcoin ETF will be approved by the Securities and Exchange COmmission. The first is that bitcoin may increase in value because of the good news, 2nd is that bitcoins value will decrease in value or 3rd there will be no effect. So today what we have is only a possibility but we will see what will really happen only after it was approved.

I disagree. there is only one possibility, price will definitely increase in case ETF is approved by the SEC. and it won't be because ETF is a good thing or anything like that but it would be because of Fear Of Missing Out and pure speculation that bitcoin should rise because ETF was approved!
it doesn't have to even make sense, people have to believe in it and then act on this speculation for the price to go up. of course there is positive sides to such approval by SEC too but that will be more of a long term effect.
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Latest news about bitcoin ETF decision on: July 23, 2018, 09:10:07 AM
this is just showing how a lot of people want it to happen, which is pretty weird if you ask me! nobody really gains anything if ETF is approved, most people don't even know what ETF is! I think newbie investors are starting to get restless and want profit soon which is why they are rooting for ETF to be approved because they mainly speculate a huge rise if it is.
1439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Strategies for Beginners... on: July 23, 2018, 07:25:13 AM
this was a decent topic apart from the following part which you even start the whole thing with:

Quote
Most straight forward and easiest strategy is HODL. That means buy some coins and don't touch them, forget about them few years. Hopefully if everything goes right, it will be worth pretty penny once you revisit them after waiting for a long time. In that way you don't have to worry about any crashes, don't have to worry about going to the moon, keep on "HODLing".
everything about this is just wrong!
"forget about them for a few years"? depending on what coin you have this can be the worst decision of your entire life. for example these days a lot of people are bag holding ethereum but they forget that it has unlimited supply. in a few years when you come back instead of 100 million ETH, there will be 1 billion ETH in  circulation and that has already killed the price.

"Hopefully if everything goes right"? that just shows he investor has no  clue what he is doing. when you invest you shouldn't 'hope" you should analyze and make an educated decision.
1440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what profit do you need to close the long position? on: July 23, 2018, 07:18:06 AM
that is hard to answer to be honest because long term is not just a fixed amount of profit. it is the futuristic value of bitcoin that is important. for example when I started with bitcoin and its price was about $200 I wasn't buying it to sell it at $1000 (400% profit). I was buying because I knew it can one day be worth a lot, possibly even $1 million. and of course there is always the fact that bitcoin is the only decentralized currency and I want to have a bigger share of this scarce currency.

with that said I have sold at $1000 but only a small amount. this is the long run game and the more bitcoin that I have the more successful I can be in the future. at the same time risk management suggests selling something at least to enjoy the profit. and for that I don't really set a % instead I look at the market and see whether I can predict a sure drop then I sell before it happens and I usually buy back after the drop.
