1441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin reach $25000 by the end of the year? on: July 23, 2018, 06:52:18 AM
I suppose the price result in the following couple of weeks until this ETF nonsense is over will determine the price but I still don't expect a big price rise this year but at the same time I am expecting a solid price rise but a slower one which can bring us back to approximately $10k this year.

(I also hope that my speculation is correct because personally I consider $25k in 5 months a bubble at this point and bubbles don't end well).

OP, your time frame is so short. I believe you should be asking what will the price of Bitcoin be a few months before, during and after the halving.

My answer would be "6 figures" or near it. Cool

considering halving is in 2020 I'd say 6 figures is nothing. we will see at least something very close to $100k by the end of 2019. possibly somewhere around $70-$90k and the halving itself will be a big rise this time because the first time we saw a big rise, the second time people were denying it but we had a big rise, but the third time which is 2020 people won't deny it anymore and will jump on board and the rise would be even bigger.
1442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are Losing it, which bitcoin is the real bitcoin? on: July 23, 2018, 06:35:03 AM
to a newbie who only visits /r/btc and bitcoin.com of course that is how it may look like. so it is understandable why you think that way. but if you hang around enough time and more importantly if you look at the previous 9 years history you can see that this is not the first time someone forked bitcoin and created some useless altcoin that dies after a while.

Wait until they "squeeze in" the debate that "Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin because Satoshi's vision". Hahaha.

That is how it always ends. First the "bilateral split" argument, then followed by an attack on the Core developers, lastly the declaration that "Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin". Plus they make confusing "technical" posts in between.

nah, in case of OP if you look at his post/topic history you can see that he is clearly some sad altcoin bag holder who things if bitcoin drops his bags can gain value. and basically in this topic he is claiming that bitcoin (not just bitcoin cash, bitcoin crap,... but the whole thing) is going to be destroyed because someone forked and created altcoins from it and claims to be "real bitcoin" Cheesy

each time the altcoins he is bag holding take another dive he creates another one of these topics. I don't know what he thinks he can achieve by doing this though!

1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Costa Rica, Workers to Paid in cryptocurrency! on: July 23, 2018, 04:59:26 AM
... the government did not make a messy situation where they mostly always wanted to ban the spread of cryptocurrency

don't confuse what you read in the news with what the government of different countries want to do.
the problem is, the bitcoin related news sites has always been so shitty. they just publish nonsense to increase their traffic. and making them exciting like saying a country is banning bitcoin is always a good click-bait thing where people visit and read. but there has always been small truth about any of them.
1445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit 20k again on: July 22, 2018, 08:14:56 AM
Will Bitcoin hit 20k again?
$20k is nothing considering the potential that bitcoin has while having a small and limited supply and at the same time having an increasing demand while we are only at a very tiny adoption so far.

BTC dominance 45% now.
wrong. bitcoin dominance is nearly 100%, its market cap is 45% of the total.
1446  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF approving in August, how much will affect the price? on: July 22, 2018, 07:34:46 AM
...

for bitcoin it is about adoption and less about speculation. for example in cases of Gold ETF, ... after ETF gold adoption didn't increase, people already knew about gold and were using it and investing in it. ETF was something else.

but when it comes to bitcoin people still don't know about bitcoin, many of them are even scared of bitcoin because of countless number of FUDs in the media. something like ETF can change that mentality and remove most of those FUDs which means a lot of people will start seeing bitcoin for what it really is and start buying it => increased adoption = rising price.
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: RECENT BITCOIN BULL RUN GOOD BAD OR UGLY on: July 22, 2018, 07:10:47 AM
for long term holders it actually means nothing, but good thing is, Bitcoin crossed $7K mark.

you don't just buy bitcoin once in your life and be done with it! majority of people invest a part of their income in bitcoin. for example you earn $500 per month and invest $50 of it in bitcoin. in  which case rises like this means a lot be cause now you can buy 10% less bitcoin than you could buy before.
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung Stores in Three Baltic States Accepting Cryptocurrencies on: July 22, 2018, 06:42:06 AM
this is meaningless unless there is a demand for it and only if people actually use it! for instance we need some stats from these stores to see whether people even used any of these cryptocurrencies to buy stuff from them or not.

for example did anyone at all went to these stores and paid 1400 XRP to buy a flat screen TV for instance? it doesn't seem like something people which are only investing in these altcoins for their pump and dumps do.

It sure might not mean much if people don't use it, but hey. If they put up signs about them accepting BTC and other crypto, it's still publicity I guess. Not as good as we're hoping but it's something.

yeah but it can also be damaging as most of these altcoins don't even have a user friendly secure wallet. for example when it comes to bitcoin you can find a wide variety of wallets from hardware wallets (which average Joes don't even use, they are mostly for those with larger amounts and mostly traders) to paper wallets, SPV wallets,... that the newbies can use. but what are you going to use for the altcoins?
their full node? that's not going to happen for a newbie.
a web wallet? it is not safe at all. we have already had so many cases of stolen coins because people are using MEW for instance.
an SPV desktop wallet? majority of them don't even have that!
1449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning network on: July 22, 2018, 06:10:34 AM
Exacly. Thats why i think it is important to monitor lightning network dewelopement. I think that after reaching 100BTC or 1 000 or 10 000 BTC someone important in crypto will spread that news and that will pump price. And with that fast developement it can happend next week - month.

if you mean the "capacity" of lightning network then this can not be the reason for the rise but the adoption of it is. which can also be seen on that capacity (which is basically the total amount of bitcoin people have put in their open channels).
for example when big merchants, exchanges and other services, etc start using LN and implement it for real then you can see the real big rise begin.
until that day this capacity doesn't matter much in my opinion because LN is not yet fully ready or adopted.
...the good news is we are not far from that day.
1450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who are these nuts? on: July 22, 2018, 06:00:42 AM
[....snip....]
I bet they're all full of regret now.  Grin

yes they are full of regret now, they are regretting why they didn't spread more FUD and why they couldn't fool more newbies so that they could buy more bitcoin at cheaper prices at those times.
if someone is not heavily involved with buying bitcoin then they wouldn't even bother commenting on it, that would be a total waste of time. it would be like me going around making topics, videos, blog posts, interviews .... about how Pandacoin is a dead coin, or why AnalCoin was a joke Cheesy

1452  Economy / Speculation / Re: RECENT BITCOIN BULL RUN GOOD BAD OR UGLY on: July 22, 2018, 05:34:46 AM
Well as everyone can see btc has made somewhat of a recovery in the last couple days i was interested in some opinions  if people really think this is the run that will take us to a new high or will it be short lived and will we see a even lower low in the coming weeks,   please feel free to to give your opinions.

there is no drop left in bitcoin, we have already had more than 70% drop and the chances of going any lower than that is extremely low and would require something seriously horrible to happen to bitcoin for it to go anywhere below $6k which was the strong buy support.

as for the recent "recovery" this IS the rise that will take us to new highs but don't expect them to happen in a short period of time like a couple of months. we will have the big rise but like the rise from $1000 to $20000 the journey will be filled with smaller rises and corrections and rarely bigger jumps like near the end.
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we bitcoin transaction refundable? on: July 22, 2018, 05:24:05 AM
Some newer cryptocurrencies, such as Ripple, have rudimentary chargeback and refund functions, but this feature has yet to be built into Bitcoin.

Ripple is a centralized altcoin that the owners control everything including your wallets! in the eyes of the public it is like any other cryptocurrency but the fact is in the past they have shown that they can easily put their hands in your pocket and take the coins you have. so the features of centralized payments systems like paypal is also available in centralized altcoins like Ripple.

this is not something we  want or need for bitcoin which is why it doesn't exist.
1454  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance: bought coin with ETH then USDT : coin disappear on: July 20, 2018, 10:01:29 AM
what was the name of the coin?

the only reason I can think of that a coin disappears from your account is that if the exchange delisted this coin and threw away all the balances that you had. so check the news and your email to see if this coin you had was removed from Binance or not.

if it weren't then you can always go through your history and see what you did with it. maybe you sold it and now you have forgotten, or maybe your account was compromised in which case seeing your trading history and withdrawal history should clarify things for you.
1455  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Centralized vs Decentralized Exchanges - Which ones are better? on: July 20, 2018, 09:51:18 AM
More and more Decentralized Exchanges are popping up, but are they really what they are hyped up to be?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-xA7p9NbdI

I think the concept is great, but at the moment they are really hard to use because of constant downtimes especially on IDEX and EtherDelta. What are your thoughts on this?

decentralized exchanges are a good idea as it is considered as more better by the crypto community but as there is not much trade volume on these exchanges so people are doing their trade much on these centralized exchanges.
Whenever if the crowd on these decentralized exchanges increased and the volume of the trades on these exchanges reached to a favorable value then people will rush to that exchanges and will like to trade there.
Yes all the issue from there is because of the low volume of trade. When the trade volume on these exchanges will increase then  no one will have any problem to do trade on these decentralized exchanges but they will like more these exchanges.
Many people are saying about different problems from these decentralized exchanges but in actual there is no any issue on these exchanges but only a crowd is required if the crowd will come then no one will claim for any issue.

it is not all the issues. the low volume is certainly one of the biggest ones but there are other issues that is preventing people from using decentralized exchanges. one of the biggest one in my opinion is the fact that they are not as user friendly as the centralized exchanges, they are not as fast and easy to use and not all coins can be found on these platforms sometimes.
we still have a lot of improvements to make before we can start using them for good.
1456  Economy / Speculation / Re: GUESS LIST CLOSEST TO ATH @END OF THIS YEAR on: July 20, 2018, 09:35:37 AM
$9950

because I think we are not going to see any big rises this year to reach anything higher than $10k which I believe is going to be a very strong resistance and can take quite a while to break. instead we will see a slow rise which is the ~30% rise in 5 months.
also I believe that ETF is not going to be accepted this time either so there won't be any enthusiastic big rises either... hence the stuck-below-$10k thing. Cool
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PRICE: EXPERT CLAIMS CRYPTO 'STARTING TO LOOK GOOD' DESPITE FAILING TO T on: July 20, 2018, 09:15:01 AM
LOL. just because someone fails to look at all the charts and this is the first time they see a rise it doesn't mean 10% rise in a couple of hours (not 30 min) is a price manipulation! this is actually quite common with bitcoin and basically any other market that when price starts to move upwards and breaks a major resistance ($6800 in this case) investors gain some confidence and start buying it up leading to a bigger rise.
now bitcoin market being smaller than traditional assets with their huge markets means the rise that bitcoin experiences is a little bigger than usual.

I also find the whole thing contradictory. when you start things off by saying it was price manipulation then go ahead and say things are looking good you are just contradicting the first thing you said.

I think the article is just quoting everyone who has said anything about the price no matter what side they were on!
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: assurance of analysis of Bitcoin experts on: July 20, 2018, 08:28:00 AM
just because someone makes a post or a video or something similar online doesn't mean it is an "analysis". there is no experience or knowledge required for making these things, literary anybody with a computer and internet access can publish crap online.
you really have to stop reading nonsense like this. try to learn how the analysis itself works and then analyze the market on your own and try to form your very own opinion.
1459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Re: Market goes back to red when we expect the start of a boom? on: July 20, 2018, 06:59:50 AM
maybe your expectations of the market were unrealistic. have you ever considered that?

for instance most of the people I see these days on bitcointalk are expecting bitcoin to either get dumped hard to $3000 or pumped hard to for instance $50k in the next 5 months! well that is simply not going to happen. and that is a good example of unrealistic expectations out of the market.

bitcoin doesn't have to have a "boom" every day as you expect. having a more stable market and a slow rise is also a part of the market and it actually is happening right now and has happened in the past many times before.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Asking stores do they accept bitcoin on: July 20, 2018, 05:53:53 AM
How many times have you came in a store and asked whether or not they accept bitcoin when you wanted to pay?

I have asked multiple online stores/services to accept bitcoin. for example I have sent messages to Steam support back in 2015 and asked them to accept bitcoin. I would like to believe that all these requests from users like me made them accept bitcoin eventually (sadly they stopped last year due to high fees).
the same thing can be done with any other merchant out there. we need to show them there is demand but at the same time not to spam them!
