@ralle14. Also the weather. It might take away much from the Dolphin's passing game and Mike McDaniel wants Tua to throw the ball long. It will be difficult to do with the snow and the wind.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 13, 2024, 11:46:32 PM
I am not quite certain why the sportsbooks were favoring the Browns with a field goal. They have Flacco, the Texans have the rookie of the year Stroud and hometown advantage hehe. It is also quite unexpected to see that the game went to a high total of 38 points only in the first half.

On the next game, agreed to all of you on the Chiefs in the snow.

On the speculation on what team Bill Belichick will go next season. There might be 6 teams that have a vacancy for head coach. These are the Titans, the Falcons, the Commanders, Seahawks, the Chargers and the Panthers. Which of these teams would be the best for Belichick?

I reckon how high in the draft should be one of the considerations and also if the team would want to spend money. The Chargers has the talent already which might make it a best option, however, are they willing to spend money on an expensive reconstruction of their defense?

I speculate Washington might be the next team for Belichick. They have money and they will give Belichick what he wants. They also have 2nd pick on the 1st round for the draft this April.
444  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: January 13, 2024, 01:36:10 AM
Will one of our favorite uncles Jim Cramer be proven correct in this prediction or will we witness another big pump on Monday? The Inverse Cramer tactic has more than 70% winning percentage, I reckon hehehee.

We should also start looking for Tom Lee tweets on bitcoin price predictions.

445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval; Price dumps, what Next? on: January 13, 2024, 12:59:37 AM
I am still in awe as to why the price of Bitcoin is testing new lows in the last 6 weeks. I expected the approval of Bitcoin Spot ETF to be a game changer and for Big players in the financial institution to take the lead and give us a fullscale bullrun, but it seems as if I was only expecting the reverse of what I thought.

What could really be happening?

According to this article Vanguard made the decision to delist their futures ETF product for bitcoin and they will not offer a spot bitcoin ETF product. It is not certain why they changed their minds, however, it will not be surprising if some of the people behind Vanguard are the same people who support Elizabeth Warren in the senate.

In any case, without knowing the news, the chart appears to be showing that the ETF approval is a sell the news event as many have speculated hehehe.

Vanguard's decision to not offer its users access to bitcoin ETFs has sparked a backlash among some customers, who have decided to close their brokerage accounts and move their money to other platforms.

Vanguard users have found themselves unable to buy shares in spot bitcoin ETFs, which started trading on Thursday after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission greenlighted nearly a dozen bitcoin ETFs for the first time on Wednesday.

The investment manager's stance on crypto has frustrated some crypto advocates with Vanguard accounts - leading them to take their business instead to the firm's more crypto-friendly competitors.

In an email to MarketWatch on Thursday, a Vanguard spokesperson reiterated the firm's decision to withhold trading of spot bitcoin ETFs on its platform. "While we continuously evaluate our brokerage offer and evaluate new product entries to the market, spot bitcoin ETFs will not be available for purchase on the Vanguard platform," they wrote.

"Our perspective is that these products do not align with our offer focused on asset classes such as equities, bonds, and cash, which Vanguard views as the building blocks of a well-balanced, long-term investment portfolio," the spokesperson added, noting that Vanguard has no plans to sponsor any bitcoin ETFs or other crypto-related products in the future.

I wouldn't call Ravens superbowl lock based on Lamar postseason history

I wouldn't call anyone a "lock" per say, I just can't see the Ravens or Niners not being in it.  Lamar is likely to be this years MVP, almost a certainly in fact, but I agree that he's not been the regular season MVP so much in the post-season.  Now I'm not sure I abide by this saying, but they do say "defense wins championships" and I believe the Ravens to have the best defense in the league, so that will certainly play a sizable role.

No one is a lock in the NFL, I reckon. This is the post season where everything will begin to be undpredictable. Matthew Stafford can bring his team in the divisional round by winning against the Lions and I it would not be very shocking to witness Patrick Mahomes bring the Chiefs to the AFC conference finals. Josh Allen Jalen Hurts cannot be underestimated also.

However on the Bills, can they beat the spread against the Steelers on -10? My head is shaking on this.

Maybe the SEC's twitter account got hacked again /s

Jokes aside, now the big guys are going to start buying BTC.

Can you really say that BTC is bad for the environment or is only used by criminals if you are filling your bags with it?  Cool

Uncle Gary is coping and he wants to make it feel difficult for crypto natives as it was for him when he begins approving the other applications hehehehe. Also according to some people in social media, uncle Gary's vote was the deciding vote on the first approval. This is for certain a pride swallowing occurrence for him after months of rejection and postponement. However, he has no choice because the real rulers in America like the people behind Blackrock want a spot bitcoin ETF heheheee.

Gensler the coping clown.

While we approved the listing and trading of certain spot bitcoin ETP shares today, we did not approve or endorse bitcoin.

450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 10, 2024, 06:16:22 AM
This will be a boring fight because it will be again in Tokyo and the opponent is not very exciting for the fans. However, this might be a good chance for John Riel Casimero to challenge and win against someone who will make him a contender to challenge Inoue for his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF championships. I reckon with Casimero's personality, if he fights Inoue it should certainly be in Las Vegas.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: January 10, 2024, 05:33:37 AM
@ bbc.reporter I just came home from watching Poor Things and I definitely understand why you decided to put some money on Emma Stone as she did an awesome job there. I haven't seen Killers Of The Flower Moon yet (plan is this weekened) but I will be very surprised if Lily Gladstone did a better job. By the way, I just read that she uses she/they pronouns (Lily Gladstone, not Emma Stone) which I am sure is another reason for her being favorite for now.

With that being said, I expected a little bit more from the movie. It was good and I generally liked it, but imho its a little bit overrated when I look at IMdB rating. For me its lets say  ~7.5.

Agreed, Emma Stone really has done a very good job for Poor Things hehehehe. However, it might not be as good as Lily Gladstone who has presently become the favorite from 2.05 to 1.46. It appears @Saint-loup will be winning the bet. Congratulations.

It also appears that there might not be a storyline similar Coda for this Academy awards. Oppenheimer went from 1.77 to 1.26. There will still be another month before official Oscar's voting, however. Final odds will not be seen until March 1.

In any case, similar to my Oppenheimer as best picture speculation last year, my next speculation for best picture next year is Dune 2.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 10, 2024, 04:19:59 AM
@Hueristic. I have all of your picks except the Dolphins. I reckon despite the Chiefs not being as good last year or the other year, I am quite certain Andy Reid's experience will be very valuable and the greatness of Maholmes will be witnessed by the visitors. There is still an argument that Patrick Maholmes is the best quarterback in the NFL.

Also, Mike McDaniel's post season experience is only another wild card round last year with a loss against the Bills.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Grants Approval For Bitcoin ETFs, or not. on: January 10, 2024, 03:08:06 AM
It was a hoax people.

According to Gary Gensler:

The @SECGov  twitter account was compromised, and an unauthorized tweet was posted. The SEC has not approved the listing and trading of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products.

The real reason they made the fake announcement was to get Bitboy out of the premises heheheehehe.

In any case, the skeptical me thinks that the announcement was made by mistake and it was supposed to be made this day on January 10th and not yesterday. According to many people on social media, the announcement appeared like it was very well composed and it appeared ready from uncle Gary's drafts folder.

However, what uncle Gary might also do is delay the ETF decision again to investigate the hack.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 09, 2024, 03:35:09 AM
NFL wild card round will be played by the following teams.

Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans
Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills
Greenbay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The teams I predict that will go to the division round are Texans, Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, Lions and the Eagles.

If I am correct the divisional round might be played by these teams.

AFC
Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

NFC
Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers
Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: January 09, 2024, 02:36:20 AM
I am not quite certain if this latest bitcoin pump caused this latest Inverse Cramer meme or if the Inverse Cramer meme caused this bitcoin pump hehehe. However, it appears that Jim Cramer has declared that bitcoin is topping out before the pump occured. This has all become very headshaking.

JUST IN: Jim Cramer says #Bitcoin is "topping out."

456  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitcoinETF approval will possibly cause much bigger jump than most people expect on: January 09, 2024, 02:03:09 AM
If bitcoin ETF gets rejected- Bitcoin will eventually experience a decline but will get back to its bullish form after a short term because the market is currently on a bullish trajectory.
Even if it's delayed (and a delay is unlikely)

There might be another delay. The SEC has issued additional comments on pending applicants' for S-1s and according to Perianne Boring, this might be a delay signal.

Also, if there is a delay, January 10 will be the last of Ark Invest's schedule for application. If it is not approved by uncle Gary, this will be the first rejection from all of the applications. This might cause the market much volatility this month hehehe.

In an unexpected turn of events, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued additional comments on pending applicants’ form S-1s as part of the spot Bitcoin ETF applications. This came amid high hopes of an approval announcement anytime before the January 10, 2024 deadline.

According to Perianne Boring, the President and founder of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, the latest development is a delay signal from the agency.

457  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New Crypto Tax Law In US 10k+ Transactions Must Report to IRS in 15 Days on: January 09, 2024, 01:28:02 AM
Here is the Article:

https://news.bitcoin.com/new-crypto-tax-law-takes-effect-in-us-transactions-of-10000-or-more-must-be-reported-to-irs-within-15-days/

As of Jan 1st 2024. They are asking you to report who is sending the funds you also need to include the name, physical address, social security number, transaction amount, and nature of the transaction.

Read more on DailyCoin: https://dailycoin.com/new-irs-crypto-law-targets-traders-with-ambiguous-tax/

I think this is completely ludacris, and they only give you 15 days to do it or they state that you could potentially get a felony, I mean is this some kind of joke?

This is honestly on par with FinCen requirements for ISOs and Money Service Businesses but for crypto instead of cash. Honestly how are they going to enforce this strict policy?

All the best Americans! US is going to bring down the crypto market on their soil through useless regulations and punitive actions if not complied. From the actions of IRS and various other regulatory bodies, it is very clear that US government is seeing cryptocurrency as a threat.

If you are holding your life savings in Bitcoin, move to Singapore and live a happy life!

However, it might only be the beginning. The American government has always been the template where other governments look what they can copy and use them in their own regulatory structure. Also, the government's purpose on strict regulations is control of the flow of money. You do not think the Singaporean government will begin imposing strict regulations when they notice that the cryptospace is being used for moneylaundering and tax evasion under their jurisdiction also?

@Everyone ---Boys and gals... are any of you interested in doing a playoffs fantasy league?  It's of course nothing complex and time consuming and what, not like regular fantasy football is.  It's not as fun of course, but it does help provide a little fun/actions for the playoffs. I've played it maybe twice and always found it kind of fun.  We could do something simple like a $5-10 buy in or something.  What do you all think?  (as I type this I'm struggling to find one, but I will).

My heart is not ready, give it time to recover hehehee.

@nutildah. Agreed that the Browns had a good regular season, however, how much of this was because of Massage Watson? I reckon, not much of it and for how much he was paid for to get him from the Texans, would he be considered a good deal?

Also, I picked him as my quarterback speculating that he might be underestimated in the rankings. It was a costly mistake hehehe.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: January 08, 2024, 04:58:45 AM
I really can't believe that doge has turned not only to be a layer 2 alternative but also some kind of utility dog aiding to asses the health of the network.

Is it because for you there should not be any other cryptocoin in existence except bitcoin and all other cryptocoins in existence other than bitcoin is a scam?

It appears that Ordinals needed to exist for everyone to witness the reality that there should be other cryptocoins in existence to help the bitcoin community.
460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: January 08, 2024, 04:34:50 AM
It was on January 3 when one of out favorite uncles Jim Cramer said something positive about bitcoin. What we witnessed right after this is a big dump on everyone's faces.

Also, according to this article from coindesk.com, uncle Jim mentioned on October 2023 that bitcoin will go down big. What occurred was a pump on bitcoin to more than $40k.

The Inverse Cramer theory is real!

Jim Cramer, former hedge fund manager and host of CNBC’s Mad Money, Tuesday morning reversed his previously bearish stance on bitcoin (BTC) ahead of what's expected to be U.S. regulatory approval of a spot ETF and as the price rose above $45,000 for the first time in 21 months.

"This thing, you can't kill it," Cramer told CNBC's David Faber. "Bitcoin is a technological marvel and I think people need to start recognizing it's here to stay." Cramer also took note of another famous Bitcoin skeptic (to put it mildly), saying the late Charlie Munger "was blind to this."

Cramer's comments stand in contrast to his remarks in early October amid the Sam Bankman-Fried trial, when he said he wasn't interested in getting long the crypto as "Mr Bitcoin is about to go down big." Prior to that, Cramer said he had sold most of his bitcoin holdings in 2021 after the China mining crackdown.
