461  Other / Off-topic / Re: Video: Edward Snowden NBC NEWS FULL INTERVIEW on: May 29, 2014, 04:37:30 PM
I think this interview is causing some anger management issues inside the white house and pentagon, and I'm sure Snowden didn't say anything that could compromise the US security, and he might be keeping that as a backup plan
462  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: May 29, 2014, 04:07:19 PM
the Moon can't hold an atmosphere because of the lack of gravity, you need to artificially put a container for that, having a magnetic field helps against solar winds that erodes higher part of atmosphere into space, I think that before thinking too far, a first step would be getting there and doing it on a consistant basis to do scientific research and study the potentiel of our rocky neighbour

'Obama says the US is indispensable, meaning all other countries are dispensable?'
http://rt.com/op-edge/162236-obama-usa-afghanistan-drones/

Quote
Richard Becker: Yes, of course. This was a speech that might be described as “visions of empire”. You have President Obama again saying that the US is the indispensable nation. I do not know what that makes the other 195 countries in the world; I guess they are all dispensable. The only way you can reconcile that is if you consider the word indispensable as synonymous with invasive because there is no country that has invaded more countries in the world that has violated human rights and international law more than has the US. Contrary to all of the nice sounding words that came out of President Obama’s mouth on that day, it was a point.

Ouch.

I feel like this isn't limited to Obama but this is a general idea some American have ( it's a good thing that there are still some american that thinks wisely and are not in this category)

Remember the Cuban missile crisis? The Americans knew that if they attack the USSR, then their European allies would be wiped out by the Soviet nukes. But still they stepped up the rhetoric, as the Europeans were dispensable.  Grin

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/oct/27/vasili-arkhipov-stopped-nuclear-war

Quote
It seems likely that America would have suffered far fewer casualties than its European allies. The fact that Britain and western Europe were regarded by some in the Pentagon as expendable pawn sacrifices was the great unmentionable of the cold war.

I think for the reason General De Gaule decided to build a minimum of nuclear weapons and platforms to deliver them to achieve irreparable damage to USSR in case they decide to attack, it's called "Force de dissuasion nucléaire française" or dissuasion nuclear force in english
464  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being illegal doesn't make you a criminal- my cousin works as border patrol on: May 29, 2014, 03:28:10 PM
he thinks this is exactly what it makes you.

On a side note, he works during the pres shift briefing, someone had listed some of his subjects as UDA. Now, he said they usually list them as IA (Illegal Alien), and some of his people were all "wtf is UDA", and the presenter said "Undocumented Alien".

The only illegals he will accept as undocumented as opposed to illegal are the children, or those who crossed as children. Part of any criminal statute begins with "knowingly and willingly", well, children don't knowingly and willingly do much of anything he said. But the parents, they willingly did something they knew to be against the law, yea, illegal, yea, criminal.

What ya think?

maybe you should ad some context here, I think you are talking about the US of A border and probably the one with Mexico right?
465  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Trolling] Malaysian Muslims declare jihad on Cadbury over pork-laced chocolate on: May 29, 2014, 03:25:59 PM
false advertisement, bad business practice, obviously this company need to be shut down, if you advertise a product as Hallal or Vegetarian or Bio or what ever and you make people pay premium for it, and then you are found guilty there is no other definition to it, this kind of practice can result in death if someone has some allergic to something and he carefully buys a product that is advertised as free of the substance in question ....

467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 10 Amazing Acts Of Defiance Throughout History on: May 28, 2014, 11:24:03 PM
Here is another. Meriam Yahya Ibrahim Ishag sentenced to death by stoning, for refusing to convert to Islam. Her husband is an American citizen, but there has been no help from the United States authorities so far.

I don't know all the circumstances about this, but in Shariaa (7th century Islamic law) Stoning is the capital punishment for cheating under marriage and it goes for both the man and woman that were found guilty ( I think to validate this there is need for 4 witness minimum that saw them during the sexual act if the couple (penetration)) also If I remember correctly from what I read even in the Shariaa forcing people to Islam is not allowed. So to resume if these the woman is found guilty and being judged for the supposed crime you are mentioning these guys are criminals even according to their laws and she needs to be released immediately, but I sadly the amount of lies we get to see from our western media makes warry even if sometimes they are telling the truth, I really can't help but feel that something wasn't mentioned here

469  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China cites US for “unscrupulous” spying, wants IBM out of banks on: May 27, 2014, 07:09:14 PM
Well it's about time really, I think every country should follow this step, sadly not many has the capacity to make their own hardware at a reasonable cost.

This is also a response to the latest accusations made by the US against China spying. While industrial espionage is nothing new and without a doubt that Chinese companies are doing it, there is no way China or any country in the world can match the US of A in this category heck, it's not only industrial but whole population and especially political espionage as we saw thanks to Snowden. Which makes it funny when the US complains about espionage
470  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 07:05:24 PM
Washing will choose its interest. In this case I guess they will keep certain cooperation with Vietnam, just enough to send China some necessary messages without pissing China off while strengthening their support to Philippine.
US will not unilaterally jump in a war with China. No way. A smart move is they will wait for some country or UN to start first, then they will join. Then presently US will wait and see.
There is nothing can block china right now being it the UN or any other country, China/Russia double veto will block any move, while no country especially the US would want to piss China, Economy is a strong weapon in hand of China, and isolating china will just make it closer to the Russia and will create a new Pole

Sad to see that such act of barbarism and extremism exist in this day and age, are we heading back to the dark ages where people were killed just for their religion or believes ? hopefully this is just a random act and not some group in making
472  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: May 27, 2014, 03:31:11 PM
SpaceX is profitable right now without any reuse of rocket parts.  Most people think SpaceX is on the verge of being able to reuse the first stage of their rocket which will cut the cost of flight down (for them) nearly 50%.  9 out of 10 rocket engines are in the first stage.

As SpaceX increases its launch rate and gets re-use going it will have the highest profit in the rocket industry bar none.  SpaceX will also have the highest operational payload to orbit with the Falcon Heavy which is not much more then a ganged version of a rocket they are already flying.  This is possible because they have mastered LOW COST liquid propulsion and have gone away from lower tech solid rockets.

50% is not a realistic figure, not to mention how previous american programs that were based on reusing parts failled hard so what would make SpaceX any different (usually the parts are either lost, are way too damaged to be resused...? also spaceX program is very limited in terms of capacity right now, maybe things will change when the Falcom Heavy rocket is operational.

But I like the principal of the Falcom rocket, simplifying things make them cheaper and more reliable, hence cost efficient

This is the original news article which triggered this thread.

Russia will not import GMO products - PM Medvedev

http://rt.com/news/russia-import-gmo-products-621/

The Americans interpreted Medvedev's statement as a boycott against the American food industry.

Sadly, this shows one of the reasons why I don't believe in media anymores, and I don't make judgement till I read several sources including the sources from both involved parties, Media propaganda is a big geopolitical tool nowadays

Banning GMOs is a good thing, as long as it's not proven that they are 100% safe, and their impact on the environment is reduced
474  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 03:04:24 PM
I'm surprised that Russia managed to sell their gas to China at more than decent rates, considering the situation, I guess it's a win win situation for both Russia and China here, not to mention that if this deal is combined with the deal to pay each other in their own currencies and by pass the $ that's a double blow right there to the US of A

Edit: btw Russia still selling gas to Ukrain at 260$ rate ...
475  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: May 27, 2014, 02:56:18 PM
too bad the article is in Russian so I'll just make my assumption here, I think that this is a study and draft plan like you can find at any big space agency. I think Russia is on a good road when it comes to space program their space agency budget is increasing dramatically every year, as well as the chinese program, so we are bound to see some interesting stuff happening in the next decade or so
476  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - NEW RATES - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: May 27, 2014, 02:44:01 PM
i smell something fishy here why he is so against ritz?  Roll Eyes i mean ritz is paying his/her worker properly just like those other campaigns but since he/she is the highest one some people is trying to ruin his reputation

i wonder why jelousy needs to be born  Cheesy
Well this is what I'm thinking. If he gave Ritz negative rating for promoting spam (which he isn't), he should give negative rating to the likes of Stunna and others who have these signature campaigns too. I don't really care about this trust rating, and neither should Ritz nor any user around here.

exactly  Grin but why he only chased ritz then? how about the others  Cheesy

Please read this thread and you'll know why Ritz was targetted => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=499007.1460

I think, if all of us contribute in this thread with proper reasoning, we may take zackclark70 out of trust circle.

ritz was never targeted the feedback that I gave it 100% accurate take a look at it

what you will also find is that ritz has spammed my trust with a boatload of inaccurate negative feedbacks

Are you sure about that?

zackclark70 1: -0 / +2(2)   2014-02-28   0.00000000      paying people up to 2.6 BTC for posting up to 6500 posts a month for his add campaign spamming up the forum and deleting any negative posts

No signature campaign does 6,500 posts a month. None pay up to 2.6BTC. Not to mention, other Signature Campaigns do the same thing. They can't control who spam.

The feedback Ritz sent you:
zackclark70 1: -0 / +2(2)   2014-02-28         This guy calls people a scammer but has no proof, No facts & no evidence. He just decides to call them that, to bully them on board threads. This guy is a loser . AVOID AVOID AVOID.
And don't put up with his trolling, bully tactics.

It's your place and Ritz's to resolve this. Talk it out, jeez.

good point, I just hope people solve their issues without resorting to this kind of things, Ritz payed for the last 3 months so he is legit, and I think negative feedback should be kept to scammy business rather than something like this. I'm pretty sure if you Zack remove your feedback, Ritz will do the same if you talk it out

why the premine ? you don't explain, if it is for giveaways, for tasks or just for your own pocket, I think and as mentioned by several people, it's better to go with no premine if you want to make this popular in my opinion
478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 26, 2014, 05:45:50 PM
well at least they should pay what they own to gazprom, they can't just be aggressive in one front, and try to negotiate on another, as for price increase, I think that gazprom kept prices low for Ukrain for geopolitical reasons, but now they don't have any reason to do so, and since the EU (us europeans) that will pay the bill with our tax money.
479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russians boycotting US food industry. on: May 26, 2014, 05:41:22 PM
China is making the maximum use out of the opportunities.

China ready to replace EU investors in Russia if more sanctions follow

http://rt.com/news/161104-sanction-eu-russia-china/

there were always restriction for china to invest in key industries in Russia, but this is a good opportunity for China to extend their reach in Russia, but still if I'm not mistaking Russia will not open the gate just yet, which any smart person should do, key industries such as oil and Gas (exploitation and investment in gazprom and stuff), rare metals, military, pharmaceutic and banking system will be open for Chinese,
480  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran hangs billionaire over bank fraud on: May 26, 2014, 05:31:56 PM
I am surprized that nobody mentions this but in islam (using sharia jurisdiction, as Iran claims to be) it is not possible to get a death sentence because of fraud, highest punishment for this would be cutting his "stealing" hand. Killing someone because he stole something / or fraud was never the case in islamic jurisprudence.

There is no unified Islamic law for punishment for various offences. It varies from place to place, and from sect to sect. Also, the offence can be interpreted in different ways. Some people may interpret it as theft. Some others might interpret it as treason.

I'm not familiar with Shiaa which is Irans way of Islam, but I'm pretty sure that cutting the stealing hand is the most severe form of punishment for theft and embezzlement in Islamic laws (this is a basic I believe) I think he and the guys that had the same sentence were involved in treason or and espionage (this is me speculating) as it seems the guy has companies in NA and stuff, or did something worse that got him the capital sentence
