461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: November 25, 2014, 07:51:21 AM
I'm not receiving stake rewards for past few days (ever since I updated my wallet). I've been unlocking my wallet every day and leaving it on for 6+ hours. Today it shows that my weight is less than what it was in the begining (when I first installed the wallet). It was showing 59k and today it's showing 14k.

Am I the only one who is having issue with stake after installing new wallet?  Huh

Solution would be nice.

I installed the new wallet when it came out...been staking like crazy.

Not sure what the issue is on your end but there isn't any problem with the wallet...

i am sorry if i missed this but i what is the minimum amount for the ico to be considered successfull?

Hi There

No minimum on the ICO. BitBay is going forward no matter what : -)  Any coins not sold will be burned in accordance with the OP.

thanks

BitBay Team
Just out of curiosity as I'm playing catch up here, we're all the initial coins sold or were any burned?

Sold out.

I agree with most of this post but regarding that last statement, when have you ever seen an altcoin that's worth more a year after launch than in the first 2 months of launch ? Anything that's ever shown any promise in this market gets its valuation priced in very quickly - within a month or two if not immediately.

After that it's all downhill.

It hasn't been a year for many alt coins.

But Maidsafe is worth double (just under by about .0008 as of this post) what it was sold at IPO and is very Bullish right now.  I bought at the IPO for that one and haven't sold.

For what it is worth, your assessment is largely correct but there is a difference here in Bay if the team really is dedicated (the team that is not David).  They have the benefit of a long R&D process and commissioned a leading dev to deliver next gen material so that they can implement their business model.  It sounds to me that the process occurred with the end goal being the economics of the marketplace and not the coin itself - meaning that they are trying for real world application instead of developing a platform that is functional but with theoretical value.

My two cents...

for better attraction he should go with monthly payment with minimum posts

I agree.  I actually have no idea how many posts are expected.  I'm just going to post like usual (some days more active then others) and see what happens next week.

Bump. Campaign now closed, I'm in the process of paying the campaigners now.

Anyone got paid? Just curious whether legit or not

I can confirm payment....

More invites going out today. Tweet @ us #requestinvite for a better chance!

I'll get them on Dec 1st, is there any advantage in getting an invite?

Just physically buying early - no price or competitive advantage compared to the first 48 hours starting Dec 1st.

Yeah...though some people might be compelled by what I call the Hipster Effect.  Being one of the first on something that ends up being a success is a talking point that always comes up...not sure why though.

where to trade safecoin?  thanks.

You can get Maidsafecoin on either Masterxchange or Poloniex.  That is the token that will be traded for Safecoin when the Safe Network goes live (essentially, Maidsafecoin=Safecoin).

Crypto is more of a community of traders than investors.  True enough.

That said, I think that the trading period prior to December/January (or whenever the hedging takes place) makes that point irrelevant.

It's an easy investment if you put in what you are willing to lose.  The only question is what happens after David delivers all of the code...then we find ourselves in a real world investment.  People have to buy and sell for this to be a success...smart contracts go a long way to providing a people a reason to move money around in that space...

I'm excited to see what will happen because I am not just waiting for a developer to develop...that much is a given in my opinion.  I'm waiting for a populated marketplace...that will be awesome...

two cents...

How many of these posters are still earning their BTC per month from the previously referenced FUD bounty?

Honest question...because I think that that the tech in a few months will speak for itself.

Go ahead...see how far bashing my opinion will get you.  Hint - not very far.  I still think that there is a business plan and there are not many projects going on that convince me that XC isn't going to be at the forefront by mid 2015.

There is a few things im wanting to add before release like a "First time user" wizard,

That's actually a nice touch...not sure if there is anything else you could do that could implicitly communicate the intent of the project...hint to the naysayers...
472  Economy / Services / Re: GreenCoin Signature Campaign- Solving the Carbon Problem on: November 22, 2014, 02:18:31 AM
I would definitely hit up other low energy forums, such as the following (that is their Incentives and Economics forum) -

http://www.solarpaneltalk.com/forum.php?s=4fb930fa10b4b5e188b55f9e977c86ac

Some of them might be skeptical because crypto isn't mainstream so there would definitely be some teaching of the concept but it could be worth the effort.  Also, as you mentioned, a social media campaign that specifically targeted facebookgroups/subreddits/hashtags contextual to low energy production would enable you to target like minded people.

As well, I think that having a small giveaway on BTCtalk forum is a great idea but I would even start a new thread for that.  Should receive some more interest from the community that way.  I am not sure if the Polo trollbox is down with small giveaways for coins that they don't carry on their exchange but it certainly is something that is worth asking them about - It could be a way to get a couple of new investors involved.

Hope any of that helps!

Booking a spot on the campaign

Lolz...I am not sure this is the thread to do that.  I have no experience with creating designs (awesome talent here!) but would be interested in the campaign as well.
474  Economy / Services / Re: FortuneJack.com NEW Campaign – Earn 0.12 BTC!!! Weekly Payments. on: November 21, 2014, 07:53:50 AM
I don't see any confirmation that I was admitted to the campaign but if I was then I would like to remove myself.  I read the gambling forum and found that I just can't relate and would have a hard time contributing to any of those threads.

Thank you for your time.
475  Economy / Gambling / Re: ROI From a Dice Game or Casino on: November 20, 2014, 04:59:37 AM
Definitely close to break even.  I am the kind of gambler who will usually lose the first bet and then spend my time trying to get back to where I was.  Usually so happy to get back to square one that I walk away until next time.
476  Economy / Gambling / Re: Curious about the motivation on: November 20, 2014, 02:12:08 AM
It's definitely for the fun of it.

I used to work as a BlackJack dealer and while there was a consistent flow of people you would see on a daily/weekly basis (read - there to make money) most of the people there are there for the excitement of it.

I imagine that it is probably different for BTC gamblers and to be honest I have only tried a couple of games myself.  Losing a little bit of BTC, for me, is much worse than dropping $200 on a night of BlackJack.

Sorry to steal your thunder but I found them (Trello) and watched them.  Interesting stuff.  Basically confirmed what I had been thinking in that once you hedge the coin it is set and the liquidity is based on the Marketplace.  Which means there needs to be enough product available and enough people to buy.  The Marketplace is where the 'wheel' will turn more quickly, allowing for frozen to move to liquidity.

So your going to hedge a coin, lock in a value, and allow investors to sell (or not) over time based on marketplace volume.

I think that introducing smart contracts into an online marketplace will be a first and the backing detailed by the rest of the team could make this work.

Kind of fascinating...and if you guys do it then holy crap.

I have a whiteboard video showing how its done on Youtube that im uploading now. Can we get a bounty for people to join BitBay subreddit and Trello community board? Lets post on reddit and we can decide the bounty.

Can you please post a link here to the youtube video when it is uploaded?

I joined the subreddit for BitBay but activity there is low.  Checked in on the Trello page and it is active currently (activity updated while I was browsing) but I am unfamiliarish with it.

I like expanding the point of discourse beyond this thread but I still think that a specific forum would help a lot.  If the roadmap is attended to, then there should be a lot of traffic incoming and it would be easier to organize it on a single forum rather than multiple websites (besides the need to maintain a social media presence if/when this takes off).

Just my two cents....

Agreed with the above.

For the record, I hope the team goes silent until they they drop what will shake the crypto world.

The amount of fud and all around "demanding to be heard bs" just messes with people and obfuscates what is really happening.

He has a stout resume.  If he says bulletproof then I believe it (I really don't care if you want to challenge why I believe it; I'm in too many debates right now).

If XC had delivered 'bulletproof' five months ago than I wouldn't be postin here right now...because it is a hell of a claim and should require time.

Let the man work.  Get over yourself and take a walk in the real world...it's cathartic.

My two cents.
