461  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is Bitcoin mining a profitable business? on: January 26, 2024, 12:49:27 PM
I would like to add one good idea: mining on ASICs is profitable when you have a lot of ASICs, at least several dozen ASICs.

If you have 2 ASICs and one breaks, then the profit figures will be completely different. This is the risk of home mining with limited power.
462  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Waste Power on: January 26, 2024, 12:44:33 PM
Well, if you have solid knowledge and understanding about crypto mining, maybe you could attract someone who will invest in you, but the thing is, building a crypto mining rig will be very difficult. There are a lot of things to consider, including equipment, electricity, internet, and many more, and you have to endure those expenses for quite some time because it doesn't mean that you've started mining means you will earn right away. No, it will take weeks or months, depending on how powerful your mining rig is. You have a fine land; I just want to know what urges you to want to invest in mining. I'm not against mining, but the thing is, it takes a lot of effort, time, and expenses before you can see that you've earned. But if you really want someone to invest in you, Overwhelm them with information and your knowledge about crypto currency and crypto mining.
If you sell electricity to miners, then you do not need to have mining knowledge. You need to indicate to the miner the connection points to the transformer and install electricity meters. And then the miner will independently connect the container on your territory.

Thanks for the advice.
The generator offered in the package is rated for that and all together can generate 1MW.
We just have to match that with what we feed the digesters.

There was a reasonably flexible payment plan agreed upon. I have enough to buy just a few ASIC’S but honestly this plant can support soo much more.
You found the money to build an anaerobic digestion plant but you can't find the money for profitable mining with very, very cheap electricity?
In Russian it looks very suspicious, but we live in different countries and have different thoughts about business. If you don’t have money for ASICs, then open a mining hotel and sell electricity to miners. And use the profit to buy ASICs for yourself.
Safepal on: January 25, 2024, 10:11:58 AM
USDC edition

(https://t.me/vityanacrypte/1562)

Safepal ( IOS&Android)

USDC Co-branded X1

С списком стран, в которые есть доставка кошельков можно ознакомиться ТУТ (https://safepalsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/20151246730011) ;

Safepal can be purchased for only 10 USDC
The limited collection of customized bluetooth open source X1 hardware wallets have the same features as the standard model (including the support for various networks and tokens), but come with unique perks to improve the USDC user experience. Additionally, SafePal will host a series of events and educational initiatives this year that focus on the utility of USDC in various applications.

For this campaign, users will be able to redeem these limited edition USDC hardware wallets valued at $69.99 USD by taking part in this first phase of this campaign from 24th January to 30th June 2024, and will only need to provide a redemption fee of 10 USDC (with a full rebate for it as one of the perks) to cover shipping costs.

467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ice mining on: January 25, 2024, 09:53:03 AM
Op this is a good mining site which has even started distributing the ice you had earned, which probably the mining is still ongoing, they said to be paying out the ice once for each and every month, for instance they had distributed that of January and going for February, I had started mining ice since last year and although I even invited some of my colleagues to join, some did while some didn't, if you are already on the race i wish you a great journey ice miners.
And only those users who have many referral subscribers and friends or owners of telephone mining farms will earn a lot of coins from this project. According to the authors of the project, KYC will help fight cheating mining farms, but this is their mistake.

KYC- these are just a few photos with emotions, but this is even worse than photos of documents.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you still run a 1060 3GB on Nicehash? on: January 25, 2024, 09:48:23 AM
I know, I know, a 1060 3GB isn't going to produce much in mining.  That's not the question here.  I want to know if there's some reason it won't work on Nicehash anymore.  I have one I'm not using, and thought I'd put it on Nicehash again just to make a few Satoshis, but it constantly fails the benchmark tests, so I can't mine with it.  Drivers aren't an issue, these 1060s I have used to work fine, but a year or so later and I can't get it mining.

And if a 1060 3GB is now unusable on Nicehash, what sort of GPU do I need?  A 3060?  And how much RAM is the minimum these days?

1060 3GB listed here - only works on NHM and NHOS, not the Quick miner...pretty sure most algos need 4GB though...so most benchmarks will fail, make sure you manuayly "tick" all benchmarks
https://www.nicehash.com/mining-hardware
NiceHash does not support all algorithms and many old video cards are no longer useless for their calculator, but this is not true if you mine other coins. Nice Hash dumbs down miners because after a few years of use they are no longer able to use other mining software Grin

Just trying to point him in the right direction, OP is specifically asking about his card and NH.
If a newbie is limited, or wants to use his work computer for mining because he was able to install NiceHash software on his PC, then he will earn a very small amount of money and will have to wait a long time to reach the payout limit.
Nowadays you need to have more knowledge and capabilities in mining if you want to earn money rather than passive income of a few cents a day from one old video card.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: When GPU mining started for Bitcoin on: January 25, 2024, 09:40:27 AM
I never mined bitcoin with gpus but I mined Litecoin / dogecoin which was scrypt algo and it was very power hungry.

Back then psus were expensive and capacity wasn’t as high as today. The best bang for the buck was a 750Watt PSU. So I had a rig which basically only had 2 Gpus inside it and it was pulling 700 watts. So pretty much at capacity.

With ETH mining, I think with the same Psu I was able to mine with 4 gpus. Crazy how much power they used.

Litecoin mining with 280x/290 was a blast. I had my 290s flashed to 390 firmware which "unlocked" them and increased the hashrate. I think the wattage was above 200w per card and you had free house heating from the rig. Those cards were power hungry AS FUCK. Good times
I was mining Ethereum on these cards and it was profitable at the end of 2015. Before this, these video cards were used in mining other shitcoins, the names of which are now difficult to remember. But electricity was very cheap and there was no control over consumption in private houses and apartments.

litecoin, feathercoin, siacoin comes to mind
Cointellect was in 2014. It seems that they were mining Dogecoin, but they paid very large rewards for referral links and it would be profitable to mine using them. This project did not last long, but information from 2014 can be found on the forums.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer KS3 on: January 24, 2024, 11:34:40 AM
Well. If you like next to lake you can build a small hydropower plant. Or couple 2 3phase huge motors 75Kw to have dynamo machine. You can get car alternators, take a most suitable engine belt and connect generators with the belt like so the rotational pull force would be reduced. Can work with one or two motor.

Or you can make lot of small Heron phountain. It's so water always flow by circulation.  I think you need a lot of this for that.
To do this, you need to live on the banks of a river with a good flow and protect this equipment from thieves. If you have real examples of mining on such equipment, then I would like to see it. Such equipment requires the correct location on the river, and its installation would be illegal without registration.

How is Ice earned?
To start earning Ice, you need to check in every 24 hours by tapping the Ice button to begin your daily mining session.

Mining together with your friends can boost the mining (earning) rate for you and your team.

For each friend that checks in at the same time as you, you both receive a 25% bonus on your mining (earning) rate.

The base mining (earning) rate starts from 16 Ice/h and is reduced by half (goes through a halving event) when it reaches the first milestone. Read more about halving.

Next week Karlsen will roll out a test of the new mining algorithm KarlsenHash V2, which is based on the algorithm developed by Lolminer - Fishhash
The team will also be thinking about implementing a miner for processors!
Thanks to this transition, it is planned to get rid of ASICs and reduce the performance of FPGAs compared to video cards!

476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The best video card for mining farms in 2024 on: January 24, 2024, 10:43:19 AM
I find 5700 to be very inexpensive at the moment and work very well with mining kawpow with little to no crashes.

The resell value may not be good however.

Yeah that is one of the great cards for mining but unfortunately its price it is not that low right now,I see in Ebay with price being 180-200 dollars and I do not consider that a cheap price for a card which is some years old now.Where I live I can easily get the 3060 ti which is a bit better for 120 dollars right now.For people mining now this is a good time to stock on such cards and build a good mining rig with 12 such cards for just 2000 dollars as that in ETC+ZIL can make you a considerable amount of crypto monthly,of course we do not talk about profit but for good amount of crypto which in the next bull run may prove the best investment one can make.
Are you still mining Ethereum classic in dual mode on video cards?
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-e9-pro-3-68gh

I would definitely advise you to choose other mining equipment for this coin instead of video cards. It will be both cheaper and more profitable Smiley

Bitmain Antminer E9 Pro in a noisebox will be a good choice, if you do not take into account the risks of failure of 1 ASIC.

Anyone got a video of how loud this thing is, or a comparable miner?

Back in '17 or so, I had a few Avalon 741s, and they had to be run in a side room in the basement with cement walls, and even then you could hear them if you listened.

I don't like the idea of this new miner having a special plug, anyone competent with electrical wiring could crack the case open and cut out this fancy plug and wire in something easier to match up.
Read about noise boxes for ASICs. For 50-70 dollars you can buy the material and make the noise box yourself, or buy a ready-made one for 200 dollars or more. If you have inexpensive electricity, then the noise problem can be reduced.
