481  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] History Coldkey - A testimony to Bitcoin - Q3 coming soon ! on: July 16, 2020, 05:57:40 PM
received today my great q3 coldkey-cards with small gifts Wink

~snip pic~

but while activating the respective ck-cards with the shipping-id and shipping-secret the homepage at the history-20.4.6 card shows me a different BTC address than the one on the card... Roll Eyes
for the other two cards the BTC addresses are correct

Hey cygan !

Happy to know you received them safe and well. Smiley

Also, it's cool to be aware that the way we started to handle shipments recently works like a charm.
Parcels are taking less time to arrive at their end point that way. Smiley Cool ! Thank you !

Thank you very much for reporting the incoherence in your record.
This new tool has been introduced recently to prevent any loss of BTC during transit.

Thanks for your PM, I'll take a deeper look into what happened and make sure this doesn't occur again.

We don't ship Coldkeys loaded anymore when possible, and these won't become funded until you confirm everything has been received and that all the data displayed on the page is correct.
Please reach out to us if something is not correct.

We are constantly looking to improve our operation.
We'll further automatize the production so there is as little manual operations to realize as possible, hence less room for man-made errors.

Edit : OK, I understand what happened.
In April we had no idea how badly things will turn and this tool to confirm the receipt of a parcel hasn't been thought of at all.

We were proceeding with the funding directly before shipping them, usually loading them in bulk.
I was making sure everything was right in our records before the loading. Now this has changed.

There has been a little glitch and discrepancy in our procedure with the change we conducted to keep serving you with the upmost safety for your funds.

I present my apologies for this, and thank you for your vigilance !
I'll make sure this doesn't happen again.

3rd Halving Coldkey

Hello everyone !
I'm happy and proud to announce to you our latest Collectible release.

Bitcoin 3rd Halving Commemorative Coldkeys

We've been working on this release for quite a while.
This release was supposed to happen already some time ago;
but as you know, our operation has suffered some delays due to the sanitary crisis.

We had this idea back then during a chat with Krogoth.
I had some ideas for a Halving Coldkey and Krogoth came up with great ideas as well so we decided to collaborate for this run.
With his help, we could make it happen as it is. Smiley
Thank you very much Krog !

Anyway, we think now is the right time to announce it !

(High definition album)

This idea is all about the Halving that happened, bringing the Bitcoin block rewards from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC.

This release consists of 128 sets, each one loaded with 0.0125 in total. One set is made of two Coldkeys and each one is loaded with 0.00625BTC.
A huge THANK YOU to Lucho Poletti who designed the perfect artwork for this release.
With that idea to split a symbolic amount of BTC in two.

With Bitcoin, we are slowly getting towards an inflation rate that will be one of the tiniest on Earth.
This release is a tribute to a special time when Bitcoin became scarcer.

This release is made of 128 sets.
Each set comes with two Coldkeys, each Coldkey is individually loaded with 0.00625BTC.

Serialization comes as follow :

#1 - #21 are Gold sets. (21 sets)
#22 - #64 are Silver sets. (43 sets)
#65 - #128 are Copper sets. (64 sets)

6 AP (.AP1 to .AP6) sets exists and have been distributed among people involved in the project.

(Gold set next to a Silver set)

Each individual Coldkey is serialized with HALVING3-L or R.<SERIAL>.
The L or R letter represents the Left and the Right Coldkey, regarding the artwork.

For the Gold and Silver sets, every public address starts with bc1qhalved.
Also, each of these Coldkeys have been funded in the block #630,001; right after it halved.

The Copper sets will be funded in future blocks.

Distribution :

The 21 Gold sets are going to be auctioned soon by Krogothmanhattan.
Silver sets and Copper sets are going to be sold at retail after the auction has ended.

Thank you very much for looking ! Smiley
We welcome any question or feedback about this release.

Par exemple, si on ne peut pas retracer les BTC dépensés dans une transaction jusqu'à leur création dans la blockchain, cette transaction n'est pas valide et si un mineur l'inclut dans un block;

485  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] All ABOUT COLDKEY CARDS on: July 03, 2020, 03:57:55 PM
Thanks...I am awaiting for Yogg to take some good pics and also go over any errors or omissions.

That's amazing Shocked So many pictures..
Thank you so much for your work and for making this thread, Krogoth !!

I'll look into it more in depths later today as I will have more time later on, so if there is something to be rectified I'll let you know. Smiley
It is awesome !! I love it Smiley

the Q3 will be released very soon, I hope  Wink (broad hint, yogg, broad hint  Grin)

Only time will tell ... Wink
https://intellivoire.net/savoir-plus-le-systeme-petrodollar-a-eleve-le-dollar-au-rang-de-monnaie-mondiale/

https://blogs.mediapart.fr/danyves/blog/310316/hillaryleaks-le-projet-panafricain-de-dinar-or-derriere-la-guerre-en-libye

488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: everything was fine untill BSV scam appeared on: June 28, 2020, 11:42:03 PM
BSV and all the negative press around it and CSW acting like a clown certainly doesn't help crypto as a whole to gain more legitimacy.

However what is hurting the market more, in my opinion, are all the actors such as BitMex and Deribit etc ...
Basically, the derivative market.

Because they can offer leverage, speculators see it as a more effective way to gain profit.
But buying a contract on BitMex doesn't entitle you to real BTC. It doesn't affect the underlying asset market.
(however the price of the asset sometimes can follow the price of the derivative, in which case infinite cash can constantly keep BTC price low artificially)

All that flow of value if channeled within the protocols themselves by acquiring the tokens would certainly bring more value to crypto assets in general;
certainly much more than if BSV never came into existence.
489  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN - IN CONSTRUCTION] PhysiTrack - A General Tracker for Physical Bitcoin on: June 27, 2020, 10:51:32 AM
Get the public lists of public keys that exist for most of the physicals, and search the internet, but this forum specifically, for mentions of them
I still haven't finished downloading all Bitcointalk posts, but if it helps, I can share what I have. It's currently around 60 GB and it takes about half a year to collect all data from the forum (with 1 request per forum).

That'd be interesting, but I cannot think of a efficient way to extract all the useful info from that dump.

When all the existing blocks will be processed, we'll have the state of all addresses "in-use" and their "balances" in BTC's blockchain.
We will process new blocks on the fly to always have an up-to-date state of addresses.
Have you considered what's going to happen to your database if you process a new block that orphans afterwards?

Thanks a lot for pointing that out !!

Well, no. I haven't thought about it, but I have a simple kinda "quick & dirty" fix :
Process all blocks until :
Code:
nbCurrentBlock - 6
It can be 12, or even 144.

Our routine to calculate the balance of each physical will most likely be updated once every 24hr;
I don't think it is a big issue for the tracker to be constantly 24hr behind.
490  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] History Coldkey - A testimony to Bitcoin - JUNE RELEASE // RESUMING OP on: June 27, 2020, 10:11:38 AM
A quick update :

One of the two parcels sent 2 weeks ago just had an update on the 25th.
The other one, got an update just today.

This week, several parcels were shipped differently and all got updates in the same day / next day at latest.
Despite being more time consuming than the 1st approach, it is more reliable, so I'll keep it that way for now.

I retained parcels and wasn't shipping due to this uncertainty which is pretty much cleared as of now.
Everyone awaiting for their Coldkeys, please expect more news in the upcoming week. Smiley

This is about all orders for which we have received the funding and for which everything is alright.

We sent reminders about the funding to customers with a subscription, the parcels will not ship if we didn't receive the funding for them.
I have a few things to clarify before proceeding, but more reminders will be sent soon to all customers who placed individual orders for which we didn't receive funding.

May and June History Coldkeys are still available for a short period of time !
They will not be available anymore after the 2nd of July.

We are in the works for a Q3 History Coldkey release, with a different artist. Smiley

Many more awesome things are coming.
Thank you very much everyone for your comprehension and your patience during these troubled times.
491  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN - IN CONSTRUCTION] PhysiTrack - A General Tracker for Physical Bitcoin on: June 27, 2020, 09:23:16 AM
Awesome project guys, just found you from LoyceV's merit list, so dumped my spare ones at you. I think it's a really interesting project, and collectors would love this but, my question is: aren't many physical Bitcoins anyway unfunded? That was my assumption anyway, I have bought the odd collectible or so, but only to give away to others as gifts so I don't myself own any now but I recall everything I'd ever bought as unfunded.

So how does that work with this project? Still awesome anyway and I'm looking forward, 15 days means it's 4 more days coming!

@OP How could you never have had a forum account before!? But welcome =)

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Smiley

Yes, it is very interesting !

There are many physical Bitcoins that are unfunded, but also there are many that are funded and there is only a few trackers that are very specific to one kind of item.

4 more days coming ... Well ...
Our script is parsing the whole dataset of Bitcoin Core's blockchain.
This is where we are at (just checked now) :

As blocks got completely full at around block #400,000; the process became much more lenghtly.
1000 blocks means that 1GB of data was processed. I'm not sure how to enhance the performances.

I'm pretty flat out at the moment, but if you need any advice on setting up huge EC2 instances as cheaply as possible to do any number crunching etc, PM me, I'd be happy to help, it's half my day job.

Thanks !
I will reach out to you, maybe you can give us a couple advise ? That'd be great. Smiley

He tasked me with a few projects including an algorithm that generates a file containing the whole set of Bitcoin addresses that exist and have a balance.
Check this out:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5254914.0

Thanks for pointing this thread ! Yes, absolutely.
We have access to Blockchair's data-dumps with an API key. They do a lot of them !

However Magnat's task was to find a way to come up with one of these dumps, and this is what we're compiling as of now.
Actually, that's why it displays balances for Coldkeys.
I gave him Blockchair's dump and a list of Coldkeys and asked him to retrieve the amounts from the dump.
We do it step by step.

When all the existing blocks will be processed, we'll have the state of all addresses "in-use" and their "balances" in BTC's blockchain.
We will process new blocks on the fly to always have an up-to-date state of addresses.
This data is precious and I can already think of more uses for it when the parsing is complete. Grin

But yeah, this tracker will function only with our in-house tools.

Here's a link to many/most of the public maker's address lists: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2022902.0

Good luck Cheesy

Thanks for the great ressource ! Grin
Magnat's been compiling many makers lists for now and will continue to do so, among other things.

That's some good shit right there.
Surely needed a all in one physical tracker.

-snip-
one that stands out to me as difficult would be lealana coins. There doesnt seem to be public lists posted anywhere for the BTC coins, the addresses of each coin are just passed from seller to buyer.
-snip-

Definitely true! there's no record of lealana coins, so if this can help with that, it's gonna be golden.
though it still won't show the unloaded coins address.

Thanks Sky ! Grin
Yeah... I'm not sure how to figure that out.

Can someone share a Lealana BTC coin public address ?
Maybe we can figure it out by following the trails in the blockchain but without a proper list it's going to be tough. Sad
492  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] History Coldkey - A testimony to Bitcoin - JUNE RELEASE // RESUMING OP on: June 23, 2020, 09:33:34 PM
Hey yogg, did you received my PM's ??

Didn't received some cards yet, maybe somethings up?

Please let me know

Cheers

Hey El duderino_,

Thanks for your PM and your post.

Yes indeed, something was up.
I have had struggles with shipping these last couple of weeks.

Originally I resumed shipments 2 weeks ago, using a new tool to make it all easier and much straightforward.
Shipped 2 parcels to EU; the tracking number never received an update.

I didn't know what was the issue, really.

La Poste customer service told me every sorting facility is overloaded and that planes were the bottleneck for transit and asked me to be patient.
Well, my patience has some limits and today I assume these 2 parcels are lost.

Even more so when the status for the parcel gives me such info :

(How can it be "Left at post office" on the 6th of November 2020 ?? Last status modification on Dec 2020 ??)

Luckily no BTC is lost as these were shipped including the Shipping ID / Shipping Secret procedure.

Yesterday I shipped a "test" parcel, to see how bad it is. I also used a label generated by our new shipping tool.
Tried something differently and miraculously, the tracking number updated in the evening.

The difference was that :
- The 2 first parcels were taken 2 weeks ago by La Poste couriers who picks up outgoing mail daily right from the office.
(This is how I always proceeded with shipping History Coldkey (being loaded) since we have offices. Never got a problem doing so.)
- Yesterday I headed to the post office and insisted for the employee to scan the label in front of me.

I considered there might be something wrong with the label itself, as we used a new tool, but I wasn't notified that something was wrong so I don't know really.
But it went through smoothly.
They took the parcel. Tracking shows it has now left France.

I could have kept shipping in the 2 weeks period where I expected an update, but what's the point if the parcels aren't taken into account / are stuck somewhere / are lost.
Now that I know how to get a parcel moving again, I don't mind going to the Post Office and require them to immediately scan every parcel I hand them.

If I kept doing how I did it before the sanitary crisis (shipping Coldkeys loaded) then we'd have lost a few hundreds €€€ worth of BTC only with those 2 parcels sent 2 weeks ago.

I am extremely confounded by the situation.
Please, don't worry. Your bits are safe, and your Coldkeys will arrive soon.
I am not an expert in logistics and could use one, but I'm an expert at flipping bits (the 0 and 1 bits) and I do my best to provide you with safety.

I am terribly sorry about how this quarterly release rolled out, and I really cannot do more than ask you for a little bit more patience as I process it all.
Thank you for your comprehension.

Please always feel free to reach out. Thank you for everything.

As a surprise, this was included in one of the 2 parcels that were shipped 2 weeks ago :

What a shame it is lost. Sad

https://github.com/brave/brave-core/pull/5914/files

    contenir l'accroissement de la demande en bande passante en ralentissant certains usages intensifs en bande passante, telle la vidéo à la demande ;

got an e-mail today that my ck-cards (q2) have been sent out.
maybe they will arrive this week - i am looking forward to it  Smiley

Yes indeed !
These parcels feature our new "2FA" procedure to safely make shipments that hold no digital BTC but become loaded once you confirmed the receipt. Smiley

On another note, I'm not sure what is going on with French post, but all parcels that were shipped out last week still appear in the state "Label created; please leave at post office".
That is still the status for the parcels today, however they were collected and inserted into the postal system as usual.

The courier who picks them up said there is still lots of delay at different sorting center down the line.

Please let us know when you got yours ! Thanks ! Smiley
495  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN - IN CONSTRUCTION] PhysiTrack - A General Tracker for Physical Bitcoin on: June 16, 2020, 10:59:25 AM
Hey there !
Yes, I confirm everything stated in OP is correct. Smiley

I am glad to welcome TheMagnat as a developer intern in my company.
He's doing a hell of a coding job since he started !!

I taught him some of the inner works of Bitcoin and it's blockchain so he can realize that script whichs outputs a file containing the whole set of BTC addresses that have a balance. Basically we recoded an internal blockchain explorer from scratch. Smiley

He told me it's much easier to get ahold of BTC once you understand the underlying tech, but this is another topic ...

We tried his script from block 1 to 304 000 (since block were rather empty so fast processing);
and the sum of BTC in the file was only ~0.02% off compared to the theoritical amount of BTC in existence by that block. We explain this as our script do not take multisig transactions and non-standard transaction into account. (Which isn't a problem for a physical bitcoin tracker)

Now as block got full around block #400,000, the process is heavier and takes more time but we'll soon have it all and will refresh the tracker website that Magnat works on. Smiley

While this operation gets finalized, we are working on the tracker backend. Once we are satisfied, we'll hire a front-end developer to make it nicer and smoother to browse.
The current version is far away from what this tracker will be like once it is finalized.

Our aim is to make the ultimate, global, physical bitcoin tracker.
Eventually, it will also serve as a global reference for the current and already circulating physical Bitcoin.

We welcome any feedback about our project. Smiley
If you have an idea or a remark, or a feature you'd love to see included, please let us know !

Suggestions / To-do list :

Smiley

Bon courage !
