481  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: May 11, 2015, 08:33:37 PM

Your money is more safe in a bank than it is under your bed that's for sure and they provide the service for free.

If you get hacked then you've lost your money, but if someone drains your bank account there's a good job you'll get that money back.

Hmm. That kinda depends these days. In the UK there have been cases where banks were refusing to make people whole again if they could prove their internet banking practices were lax.

Also people who have fallen for very convincing phone scammers aren't being paid back either.

Fair enough I suppose. They shouldn't be automatically be expected to shell out for customer gullibility.

I think that differs in each country and in the way how you got scammed. Here in the Netherlands, a friend of mine had apparently installed some malware which transferred some money of his account to an unknown party (through internet banking), and he received a refund after he went to the police. However, my nephew was scammed once by buying a PlayStation online (which he has not received yet) - no refund is made.

484  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Random Steam Games $0.4 / KEY on: May 11, 2015, 01:18:34 PM
Although I don't know the method of how these games are obtained, I don't think you should expect brand new games / very expensive games like GTA V indeed. However, if you buy a couple of these codes, I think it's quite likely that you receive atleast some nice games (which you probably did not know of before).

And hey, $0.40 per game is absolutely nothing. In my case, I received games worth about $10, $10 and $6.
485  Other / Meta / Re: Is this message is Official? on: May 08, 2015, 06:46:05 PM
Indeed, it is to warn you that a newbie is PMing you.

I've found the actual post what caused Theymos to implement this:
Post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1029623.msg11217900#msg11217900
Scam transaction ID; https://blockchain.info/address/1MxUUsWjqCAE169sA1e8ZoqNXV4JvVcBmG

Theymos then implemented this, saying:

FYI to everyone in this thread, I was so happy to "win" my bitcointalk ad, I didn't check the username close enough before getting scammed for 3.6 btc:

Sorry for your loss. To hopefully make future cases of this sort of thing more difficult, I added a warning to all PMs by newbies.

486  Other / Meta / Re: Is this message is Official? on: May 08, 2015, 06:42:59 PM
It is new indeed. The reason; someone got scammed; he placed a bet in an auction for advertisement space on this forum.

He received a message of someone called 'Theymfos' or something like that (a newbie), who send him a BTC address to pay too.. And he got scammed, as he thought Theymos was sending him that PM.

So, it's new in order to warn you for such scams. I'm going to look up the topic now.

487  Economy / Gambling / Re: Once Again Gayweather Won? Bring me back my Bitcoins! on: May 06, 2015, 09:41:32 PM
I'm not sure whether I heard it right, but what I heard on the radio today was;...

Manny had a shoulder injury (which he found out before the fight), but he still wanted to continue to fight. Now people who had placed bets on the match, want to somehow sue him for doing this (as he knew his chance to win were lower due to this injury, and he didn't tell anyone (of the betters) about this.

Now Mayweather wants to give him a second chance and offered him the possibility for another fight.

- -

Am I right? Did I heard that right? I was quite in a rush when I heard this on the radio in my car. However, I don't think that "follow-up fight" will take place.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you expect from dice sites? on: May 06, 2015, 09:36:01 PM
The most important thing to me is trust. Can I trust the site with my money? The house edge and speed of deposits and withdraws are also important, but trust is #1.

This; in the first place the games should be FAIR and owners should be able to proof that their games are fair. Besides that, users should be able to trust the website in the owners; I think quite much BTC / funds are going around on these dice websites and you should be able to trust that your funds are safe on the website.

Less important but still important factors for me are the layout of the games and the speed of the games (fast servers / scripts!). It should be easy to make deposit and withdrawals (fast) and in the end, a good customer service should be present (which can respond to questions / bugs / other problems etc fastly).
489  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan, Steam Key collateral on: May 06, 2015, 07:18:28 PM
At the end the problem is not the "verification" of the keys, the problem is that those keys are not a valid collateral because the OP will still have those keys (so he can use them whenever he wants).

That's true indeed. The seller can make use of these keys too untill someone has redeemed them. That, together with the thing I mentioned that for less than for example $2 you can have a value of $40 on Steam (by buying random codes), makes this very tricky.

490  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] $10 Amazon.com Gift Card - Digital code on: May 06, 2015, 05:26:26 PM
I have 4$ Gift card if it helps you anything.

Won't be enough, but thanks anyway.

Thanks for all these replies. I have to clear something a bit up I guess: I do have some balance on my account (from previous giftcards). I'm indeed a few dollars short, but there is no way I can increase my balance easily (as I don't own a CC etc). Buying another digital code is the easiest way for me to do it I guess.

I know Purse.io, but again, I already have some balance in my account which I want to use. I have not heard yet of Gyft though.

Thanks for all the other tips. I received another tip where I can buy these codes online (and pay with BTC): egifter.com

Try the steams game shop I listed. They sell $10 amazon cards. And its a trusted member of the community. So you should be safe there.

Yes, that's what I'm going to do I guess. Thanks everybody!
491  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan, Steam Key collateral on: May 06, 2015, 05:24:43 PM
Using 3 steam key's as collateral, FarSky, Run the Sun and Arena: Cyber Revolution Founders Pack DLC.

Total Collateral Fiat Value: £38.97
Total Collateral BTC Value: 0.2567 (At current exchange rate as of 9:00am 6/5/2015)

What I need: 0.2BTC
What for: Investment to buy CryptoSpots (currently trading on Alcurex at 125 Satoshi each)
How many will you buy: 80,000 @ 250 (Slightly less than the highest price which I was selling at myself yesterday)
Repayment by: 20/5/2015
Interest: 10%
Total Repayment: 0.22

Comment here to say you wish to provide the loan, Key's will be passed to any escrow you want me to use.

To verify these keys work, won't the escrow/lender have to use them?
Once they are used, how can they be returned to you?

I think there is a way to see that these codes have not yet been used. You can simply fill in the code and not hit the follow-up button which means you are redeeming the game; if the game would have been redeemed already you will see that on first instance.

However, there is a way bigger risk of this: Here on BTC Talk, you can buy random Steam keys for $0.40 each. With some luck, with 3-4 keys (so $1.20 or $1.60) you will get 3-4 games worth $39 in total or so...  There is a huge risk in this deal, and therefore I personally would definately not participate in this. But that's personal for everybody.

great deal!  small investment revealed $38 in value.  Two were $10 or higher!   Shocked  Shocked

One of them I actually wanted lol.

Then it definately was a great buy indeed Wink.

I think if you buy 5-10 of these random games, you definately have 1-2 games that were worth the investment. For only $4 you'll have $xx worth of games and probably at least 1-2 you really like Smiley.

494  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [S]STEAM GAMES(GTA V $43 Steam- $36.5 rockstar)- DOTA2-CSGO Items FOR BTC/WMZ on: May 06, 2015, 05:12:33 PM
Is the issue with matt2matt resolved and do you have GTA V in stock ATM ?

I am still waiting for him to even respond to my PMs...

It has been about 8 days since he had me pay him.

I'm not sure whether wakka622 has addressed these questions via PM's, but I think it's better that wakka622 sorts this out and answers that over here.

I'm also still interested in GTA V. I might be able to buy it within two weeks or so Wink. (But I also want to know whether previous problems have yet been resolved or not).

495  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] BITBINGO.IO - The Highest Fixed Rate Campaign, bi-weekly pay on: May 04, 2015, 06:07:46 PM
It looks like the payout is on its way now, as I see an incoming transaction in the Blockchain.

497  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Language Learning Courses on: May 04, 2015, 05:57:05 PM
Selling all languages with infinite downloads. You'll receive a code allowing you access to download all languages from the language learning wesbite, this mean you're able to resell what ever you want as well. Each course usually sells from $20 up to over $100 but you can get every single thing listed on the website for just $10. Message me for more information, here's a sample of what you'll have access to. All products will come directly from the original makers of the courses as a download.

All this and more for $10 in BTC

Would you please to introduce an overview of its contents ? How many pages ? Conversation or Grammar or Beginner, Advanced,....

Need more information before buying it !

Thanks !

The ones shown happen to be the software version with beginner to advance levels. I also have audio books, grammar books and more for a variety of languages. If anyone is only interested in a single language it will come with everything the producer/company has to offer for that language. I do have more languages as well than what is listed. Due to the large variety of software, audio books and so forth for each language, it would be best to PM. Tell me the language you want to learn and I can provide more information on what I have, if I have beginner to advanced lessons, their formats, and a direct link to the store with the language you want so you can see everything you'll be getting. Afterwards you'll be receiving everything directly from that company with a purchase code. I can sell individual languages for $3 in btc or less if I feel like there isn't enough content.

Souds great. I might be interested in the course Russian. What kind of content do you have with that course?

It might want to buy another course if I enjoy it.
498  Local / Markt / Re: [GEZOCHT] $10 Amazon.com Gift Card - digitale code on: May 03, 2015, 10:41:32 PM
Beste Nederlandstalige Bitcointalkers,

Heeft iemand toevallig nog een $10 Amazon.com Gift Card - digitale code liggen waar hij/zij vanaf wil? We kunnen vast wel tot een overeenkomst komen. Betaling in Bitcoin.
Hoeveel geld betaal je per stuk?
Scammer much?

499  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: May 03, 2015, 10:39:05 PM
It's great to read through all these advices over here. Some of them have not come to my mind yet. Thank you!

Why do we need to save money? It cannot be saved , the only possible way is to find an alternative and that is what we have bitcoin for.
Let's all switch to bitcoin , accept it for daily services if possible Cheesy
We need to  save because it would help you it may help you in future. Saving will assure you that you would not short in money and you have a extra money for emergency. You may buy what you want because of your saving.

Saving money is indeed a way to save money; and what I mean here is that for some (possible unwanted) purchases or costs (like another car if yours broke down, or medical costs) you HAVE TO loan to be able to pay it.  Loaning money costs money; you have to pay interest.

By saving money for these unwanted costs, you thus will actually save money.

- -

One thing that works for me to not spend so much money, is simply not putting much money into your wallet. When i've got a big amount of cash money in my wallet, I use to buy stuff that, in the end, I do not really need. When I got less money in the same wallet, I do not buy these things.

500  Economy / Services / Re: I will make your site traffic rise a hell of a lot for .05 on: May 03, 2015, 10:04:15 PM
There is cheaper people and cheaper sites to do this

I agree, but in the end, what is the point in doing this? These visitors (that might even be bots) are not interested in your website; it will not result in an increase in sales or something..

The only reason I can think of using such services, is indeed "upscaling" your Analytics data (which you might use to sell a website). In that situation, I think that's very unethical and you're commiting fraud somehow.
wtf...how am i committing fraud  Huh  Do you know what the word fraud means???  In law, fraud is deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain!! as you can see there no deception if you look in the screenshot i'ts set to no spam which is bots and no spiders which are search engines.why would you just come in and say that when im trying help people.... .05 is nothing im basically doing it for nothing

Maybe you should read my reply once again. Or maybe I was not clear enough.

What I see as fraud, is that when someone buys traffic to his website in order to gain advantage in selling a website. I think that is fraud because you're creating an image (of the website and its characteristics, like traffic) which is not real or true, but someone does pay for it.    I don't say what you are doing here is fraud. Sorry if I was not clear enough.
