481  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is coingather down? on: November 25, 2017, 09:20:08 AM
Honestly, this is the first time I've heard Coingather.

There are no updates from their Twitter either, even if it's Thanksgiving in the states its unprofessional of them to not post news or update.
This could be just coincidences or they ran away Roll Eyes
We'll see in a few days.

They've been around since 2012, so stop stressing they won't just shut down and run off with your money, they're a registered company in the US. You don't need to get crypto news sites to investigate, it's thanksgiving weekend, that's why.
Any links that stated that they are registered company in US?
I tried to do a few searches but no results.

Also, according to their topic they're open since 2014, just sayin Wink
482  Other / Meta / Re: So when will I be a "Legendary" ? on: November 25, 2017, 07:41:05 AM
At least you have a chance of becoming legendary. For me it seems impossible.
If you see the forum as community and put your heart into it you won't feel the time pass by.
Just enjoy the ride and stay out of trouble, sooner after you will reach Full Member and then Sr.Member Smiley
I've joined this forum 2 years ago but It feels like I've registered few weeks ago.

Newbie here. What is the benefit of becoming Legendary?
From Signature campaign value, Legendary members will get higher pay-per-post than any other rank because Legendary member tend to be eyecatching with their purple coin design.
Other than that, it fills you with a sense of pride and accomplishment for reaching the top.

I have a 1022 activities now so I will never be Legendary if I crossed 1030? (Legendary is random between 775 and 1030.)

Or I will surely be a Legendary if I crossed 1030?
You will get Legendary rank at <= 1030 Activity.
So if you touched 1031, then you will be Legendary automatically by the system.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how can i tell on: November 24, 2017, 04:22:03 PM
Well i have to agree. I need to use a local wallet.  After reading what you both said and messing with Electrum I need to make this switch. any pointers on the easiest way to go local?
Just download Electrum and create a new wallet, after creating them you will be presented with Seeds consist of random words, don't lose them as you will need these in order to restore a backup of your wallet if somehow you lost it/deleted.
Inside Electrum itself there are "Receiving" tab, those are your addresses that you gave to your miner or whoever that wants to send coins into your wallet.

Unfortunately you can't import Coinbase wallet directly as their private key are stored safely and inaccessible for their users, but you can send those coins from your Coinbase account into your Electrum address.
As for security, never install suspicious software and always run weekly scan on your PC to make sure there are no Keyloggers or Malware snuck inside your PC.

I think that's it for Electrum, if you got more questions regarding Electrum you can go to Electrum sub-forum here:

484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how can i tell on: November 24, 2017, 03:21:43 PM
another noob question here.

Thanks for all your help.  I mined all night and although it was not  a lot I want to test to make sure my wallet is working. It is stored at coinbase.com. question is there a 3rd party software program that will show that there is something in  the wallet. coinbase shows no balance, because it is in the .00001 area i think. Thanks for all your help.
If you know your Coinbase address you can search it on Blockchain, but if Coinbase uses shared address then you can't since your balance will be mixed up with other transaction.
I don't know exactly whether Coinbase use shared address or not, but you can try to search your Coinbase address, there's no harm in trying.
or you can contact their support and explain your situation, they might help and tell you your balance, but if you put the correct address when mining, your coin should be there in your Coinbase account.
As far as third party software, no.

I suggest to setup a new Desktop based wallet instead as you will be the true owner of your coin.
Head on to https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet to see Desktop Wallet you can use Smiley
485  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there any bitcoin fork on today..?? on: November 24, 2017, 09:10:41 AM
This type of fork are very risky as they are fully scam, like bitcoin gold, which have not officially released the wallet and which ever wallet are outside are fully scam, if you use it your wallet will get hacked . So it is better not to claim this type of fork if you dont want to risk your bitcoins.
You can safely claim those free coins by moving your btc first into a new wallet, then just sweep your old private key into those free coins wallet. I just received an email from my exchanger few minutes ago. i was expecting BCD to have a good marketing, because I've never heard of this before.

Oh well, enjoy another free money folks don't forget to sell it before the price crashes Wink
486  Economy / Lending / Re: Appeal to my all lenders. on: November 24, 2017, 09:00:29 AM
Even with a lifted red trust, LetYouEarn still facing hard time to repay his loan.

Well, at least you worked hard to repay it which is a plus considering many people defaulted his loan.

Have you considered to sell your belongings and buy bitcoin with that?
It sounds harsh but it's the only plausible solution considering that joining high paying campaign is unlikely.

487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Safe way to store many bitcoins? on: November 24, 2017, 08:50:36 AM
Every One say What is the safest way for bitcoin account? for more secure bitcoin account it can be connected to our gmail id for security
And when your Gmail got hacked your wallet goes down too Cheesy

For best security you can generate paper wallet, store your coins there and put that wallet into Bank Safety Deposit Box. Otherwise, buy hardware wallet and never connect it to internet.
488  Economy / Services / Re: Selling digital goods with cryptocurrency on: November 24, 2017, 03:34:38 AM
I made a website where I want to sell a certain digital good. I would like a payment system where people can pay for the good, whereby after payment they are led to a download link, whereby the location of the digital good stays secret. In the past I have been working with PayPal and LinkLok, however there are disadvantages to the system. For instance it is basically applicable to one website only. I would prefer to sell from my own webiste over selling the digital good at an external marketplace.
Ah, I see now.
In that case you might want to use either Bitpay, Coinbase, or Gocoin as Rocketr and openbazaar are used to sell goods digitally on their website.

Once you registered on one of those websites as merchant you can implement their API on your website.

An alternate solution is to hire a developer to specifically create a custom payment solution for your website.
489  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Id Verification and Legit Sites on: November 23, 2017, 08:11:47 PM
Most big exchanges requires your verification by ID or something similar due to KYC policy.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_your_customer

Try to head over to BTCtalk currency exchange section, there should be a few exchangers there willing to trade without extensive verification, otherwise try to go to Localbitcoin to find users in Canada to exchange.
490  Economy / Lending / Re: VERY GOOD DEAL!! GUARANTEED! on: November 23, 2017, 06:24:50 PM
ok well... check out my huge wins playing slots, might change your mind... these are only a few of my huge wins from a 1-2 week period....

https://steemit.com/casino/@kayaman/bitcoin-gambler-won-10-btc-or-usd80-000-playing-bitcoin-slots-with-screenshots
I got a 3d printer as collateral.. and my toyota tacoma truck.

I will send you the paperwork for my truck. and even sign it and everything...but ill need u to send them back wen i pay u back.....
I see that you got a car, you could pawn those for a short term loan and then buy bitcoin with those cash.
Also, your huge winning didn't change my mind that loan for gambling is risky for the lenders.

If you had a few huge winning then why do you need a loan in the first place?
491  Economy / Services / Re: Selling digital goods with cryptocurrency on: November 23, 2017, 06:07:23 PM
Not sure what you wanted to ask here.
do you want to accept payments on your website fully in bitcoin or do you want to accept payment in bitcoin and then receive the money in usd?

Anyway, a quick google search gave me an alternative to Bitpay's high fee:
https://rocketr.net (Have personally used this site before)
https://gocoin.com
Coinbase ( You can exchange BTC to Paypal USD natively from here, but Coinbase has a strict rules make sure to read 'em)
492  Other / Meta / Re: New design of profile in bitcointalk.org on: November 23, 2017, 05:55:01 PM
Maybe it will be more fun if they will make a new design for our profile here lets say for example there must be a photo or a new league for those high earners. Its just an opinion what would you think?
There's already a new design for BTCtalk being created so I think a new profile design is already too late, head on over https://beta.bitcointalk.org to see it, do mind that it is still being worked on.

There's no need for a photo as you can set your own avatar after reaching Full Member, unless you were thinking about photo similar to Facebook, which will encourage photo spam Roll Eyes

I think there should be another rank added after (or before) Legendary which is at 1550 activity though, because so many people are now legendary and it will just become more common as time goes on if no new ranks are added.
Kinda agree with this idea, the mountain at the top is already getting crowded, let's create another one above that
493  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase in a nutshell on: November 23, 2017, 12:51:56 PM
I heard PayPal was Own Coinbase. If this is true then there is not a wonder why Coinbase turned into a Shit Site...

Actually, Paypal hasn't bought Coinbase (yet) but they are in a close relationship.

Coinbase has always been shitty, even since the start of their services. They are the only web wallet who restricts where your coin comes from
494  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lending less than 0.1 BTC on: November 23, 2017, 12:32:48 PM
Pretty sure Poloniex exchange has the lending option in their exchange. But not sure what is required to start a lending service there or to borrow a loan. You can check it out.

Also this forums has a lending section which you might want to go through as its mentioned above. But you need a Co-lateral such as gift card, accounts or any other alt coins.
I'm pretty sure you need to have verified account before you can start using their lending bots.

@OP
what collateral do you have, how many do you need exactly and what are you going to use that loan money for?
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to buy Bitcoin for Grandparents? on: November 22, 2017, 04:17:11 PM
Download for him a wallet, let he owns his wallet and controls it. Just do like normal way, send Bitcoin to his wallet address.
Not Recommended to do this, if his Grandparents were let to control their own wallet without any knowledge beforehand, chances are they might ended up screwing themselves.

So I recently told my grandpa about Bitcoin and he obviously doesn't know what it is but he is interested in investment.....

How can I buy him bitcoin and let him hold on to it. His computer is really slow so I'm afraid it has a lot of malware.

Is there a way to give him like a code or memory stick....?
Hey, it's great that your Grandparents wanted to get into Bitcoin!
I think what you should do is educate them on Bitcoin, I'm not sure how quickly your Grandparents will be able to grasp the concept of Bitcoin,  but you should teach them about what is Bitcoin and how do they work.
After that you can show them Bitcoin Wallet and how to use them along with basic PC Security and tell them to run weekly Malware scan, that should be enough Smiley
or you can show them how bitcoin can be used as currency by buying them a new PC with Bitcoin Roll Eyes

498  Economy / Lending / Re: Appeal to my all lenders. on: November 22, 2017, 08:43:16 AM
How about this. You get a loan outside of bitcointalk.org and payback what you owe to the user here? Once the negative ratings are removed you will be able to 'Earn' Back from bitcointalk.org's signature campaigns and payback those who you borrowed from? It's a win win for all parties.
Paying loan with another loan?
I don't think that's a great idea to start with.
Lord knows how long it would take him to repay another loan if his main source of income are from signature campaign

@OP
I'm pretty sure you have a job, save your wage/salary and buy bitcoin to payback your debt slowly.
Otherwise, try to sell your belongings

Such a shame to see a Hero Account got -neg because of debts
499  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where to invest my Bitcoins? on: November 22, 2017, 07:15:42 AM
Actually, by just buying and holding Bitcoin you are already investing it.
Bitcoin is Volatile Currency and the price will always fluctuate.

In January 2017 the price of 1 BTC were $800
Let's say I bought 5 BTCs and hold them until today, that holding investment alone just gave me $40k-ish

There is never too late to buy Bitcoin, wait for dip and buy bulk, at least that was my strategy  Roll Eyes

I've bought a similar service in the past, that one comes in .html file and cd-key that I must put while installing the Adobe Apps, which sadly doesn't work anymore hence the reason I'm looking for another one.
Is this the same method or completely different one?

Also, how do you guarantee that the Adobe will work for at least one year?

Thanks!
