481  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin Company Stock Exchange on: August 09, 2015, 11:32:02 AM
Do you mean a stock exchange where traditional securities are traded for BTC instead of fiat, or do you mean a securities and stock market that deals with Bitcoin related business only?

They have the various exchanges like havelock and such but they all have terrible reputations
And there are BTC incubators who seed fund BTC related startups but they are listed on things like AIM which is a branch of the London stock exchange used for small startup type funds, and you buy shares with fiat there.

There are some BTC companies included in the baskets of some of the traditional Wall Street funds I've heard

But it has turned out that all the BTC based securities traded for BTC on BTC powered exchanges are going to go down in BTC history as being a giant feeding frenzy of rip off artists and ponzis

482  Economy / Securities / Re: Invest in It's a Selfie! on: August 09, 2015, 11:20:29 AM
What exactly do you need investors for again?
To hire someone to put together the template and place adsense on it?
Have a sign in and upload photos?
... It's so deceivingly simple it just might...
Nah, nevermind
I have a Chinese fake traffic generating bot I can sell you
It gives over 35k views per month
Real IP,s
Fake views
But it will rank your URL pretty good on Alexa
And make it show that it's worth about 95$

483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn bitcoin by sharing your bandwidth on: August 09, 2015, 11:00:38 AM
So I have my wifi on, and I'm in the bitmesh and you're walking past my house and you connect to my wifi but I automatically get some rent from your usage. I still have to have wifi that I bought from the usual ISP right?
And the BTC I get from whoever leeches my bandwidth would be set at a certain price per second?
Like, I pay 35$ a month... 15 minutes of that equals less than a penny.
If I had a busy cafe that btc people liked and spent hours in every day....
The pricing schedule will be interesting to see
Could see wifi providers spring up like Chinese mining farms

I don't really understand how it's going to work
Maybe just a connection fee though?
Or do you pay a flat rate and the BTC gets distributed accordingly?

I'm interested to see this. I often "bump" my iPod to my wife's iPhone when we are out, piggybacking her signal, but I have to be right beside her
A continuous mesh would be super useful
Didn't they manage to do a similar mesh web during the Arab spring when they tried to blackout the Internet?
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've been scammed 5.5BTC. What will you do when your Bitcoin get scammed? on: August 09, 2015, 10:30:22 AM
There have been unregulated markets before, 13th century Bruges
 Wall Street in 1929
Junk bonds in the 80s
It's The Wild Wild West
Everybody's getting scammed
Then regulation creeps in
It's already happening to bitcoin
485  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I was scammed from a blockchain fake app :( on: August 09, 2015, 10:18:16 AM
Doesn't Amazon vet their vendors? That's ridiculous.

So the guys software, the "wallet" you downloaded, it came ready to use, with private keys, that Bitcoin.developer also possesses?

Is that how it worked? Or do you think it just took every deposit and sends it to Bitcoin.developer's mixer?

No offence OP but that scam is beautiful in its simplicity
486  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Freebitco.in faucet - Has anyone rolled the top prize, 10,000? on: August 09, 2015, 10:06:28 AM
I've been visiting it a lot recently, there's an app and when I'm watching tv... I saw the new lotto and it was the first time I noticed the jackpot roll system. I had just assumed it was a regular faucet where you get a thousand satoshis or less and that's it, but then I noticed the roll was over 0.7 too
Thing is, I had already decided it was a fraud. Do they even say what is the prize in the lotto?

You get what you pay for. In freebie I.in that means about 4 cents  worth of dust for a week of steady traffic

What are you going to do? Lol

I used to go to this one jackpotfaucet.com that supposedly had monthly jackpots of about 0.6
They just make up winners
It'll never be you
At least they had the decency to stop even paying the weekly faucet payouts

They do redirects on your machine and sell your ip as traffic I think

Can't see how else they make any money
Even if they pay the minimal

487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin better than litecoin? on: August 09, 2015, 09:46:55 AM
Litecoin is Pepsi to Bitcoin's Coke. Actually, Litecoin might be RC Cola
488  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] 70k traffic to your blog / 1k traffic for 0.8$ ( mostly from US and UK ) on: August 09, 2015, 09:40:06 AM
I don't understand a few things

Is the traffic impressions per month?
How long do they stay on page?
Will they surf through multi pages of website?

I have some familiarity with "train" algorithms and redirects IP's

I was getting ~50k impressions per month and killing it on adsense
489  Economy / Services / Re: My next block neighbours have made a homemade speedbump using a plank. on: August 09, 2015, 09:25:54 AM
I wholly endorse this endeavour.

It's exactly these sort of real life use cases that Bitcoin needs to spearhead mass adoption.

But dude, you shoulda escrowed!
490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is crashing. Why? :( on: August 09, 2015, 12:12:50 AM
It will most likely continue to fall in price, but not ridiculously... maybe a bottom of 250 or thereabouts could see as low as 220 in the next month or two.

its not really crashing per se, i would say it is a correction. there was a run because of Greece and various hints about EFT (as mentioned above Wink ), but it was speculative. not many greeks themselves went to btc, it was the rest of the world hoping that the price would spike. they bought in and caused it to spike a little, that caused more buyers to rush in and continue the spike. thats how bubbles work.

after a few years here, and seeing these types of mini-spikes many times over i'm starting to get the hang of it... there not going to be a moon-spike again. that was caused by willybot, it was 100% fake. what will happen is we will see a slow increase over the long run, many mini-spikes and corrections slightly higher than before the spike started, climbing slowly.

thats just my prediction.
491  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-08] If you're using a brainwallet, move your coins - NOW! on: August 09, 2015, 12:03:27 AM
I agree with what dsattler said

also, brainwallet has been rife with security flaws and problems for ages.

use your google

a simple search like "is brainwallet secure?" should pull up enough results to scare you away for good. such as this gem "Brainwallets make the Blockchain a public password hash database"  Shocked

of course, there's no cure for laziness or stupidity

tsk tsk tsk
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Florida men charged in illegal Bitcoin operation on: August 08, 2015, 10:01:34 PM
Typical Florida BS. The cops down there are as backwards as the meth heads and criminals. and they love to bust bitcoiners.

What is wrong with the judges handing out the sentences? If anyone who does money exchange is basically engaging in criminal activity then every bank that takes cash deposits is too.

Are the laws around this so strict down there due to the proximity to Cuba? the drug trade etc?
493  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: any one here work for virwox ? on: August 08, 2015, 09:56:25 PM
virwox... but why would you even go there? they used to only trade Linden Dollars for other cryptos... no fiat deposits. They never seemed like terribly honest people.

If you go to PayPal right now with your complaint, you will get your money back.

basically, if an exchange is offering PayPal deposits, they are probably not worth using. If the banks dont freeze them, or paypal itself, then they will scam you.

the two systems simply wont integrate
494  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 08, 2015, 12:13:55 AM
whole thing stinks.

Ohaithere!

Welcome to bitcointalk.org's Bitcoin Securites forum where trolls, shills, early adopters, pumpers, scammers, thieves, liars, idiots, misers, investors, divestors, and more run rampant. A truly fine example of an unregulated free market at its worst best!

Hey! I resemble that characterization! some of it at least... yeah, I've been here a while, I have the (digital) hole in my wallet to prove it. and I gave up on this titanic loser a while ago. its over. attracting flies.

I guess it really is true what they say, in BTC land, BTC securities included... the guys who will get rich are the guys selling shovels, because the rotten, stinking corpse of AM needs to be buried! ASAP!
495  Economy / Securities / Re: Canadian Bitcoin ATM Looking for CAD Investors on: August 08, 2015, 12:07:09 AM
I'm aware of you Shawn, been following your story a bit (I'm a fellow Canadian, Victoria BC, eh?)

what are your financials for this ATM looking like? That would be first and foremost on my list of things I would have to see even before considering any investment.

Also, I have people in Winnipeg who could check things out to make sure everything is on the up-and-up. I have already heard good things about you, but sometimes little things make a big difference and it is good to see things with your own eyes (or a pair of trusted objective eyes of a friend)

some of my Winnipeg friends may even be interested in this venture too. it all really depends on the financials (historical AND projected) and making sure you aren't in some sort of crisis situation personally... no offense, but its something to make sure of before investing in anything.
496  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Karpeles arrest and bitcoin's social stigma. on: August 07, 2015, 11:57:58 PM
socialism? wtf? its as bad as hitler bro... in fact, Stalin killed millions more people than the nazis. I actually get offended when people try and promote socialism. try "post-capatalism" instead... that one might actually take flight, and not oppress and kill millions in the process.

anyways, to go back "on topic" and address OP... Karapele's fiasco and the new developments will for sure add to BTC's poor reputation in the short term, the nay-sayers will parade this news around like some sort of victory, the weak hands will drop coins, the doubtful will become more doubtful...

this is all short term, same as every other scandal in btc land.

what is also the same, but having exponentially larger repercussion every time scandal hits, is that regulation, legal definition, good standards and best practices will be tightened up, reformed, made more clear-cut and put into legislation.

the libertarians will hate this, but libertarians are like commies, they only hate the state because they dont know how to work within it. they hate the rich because "sour grapes" they hate critics like me because I'm right.

they tend to be very unrealistic, if not actually mentally ill, homeless, or underage.

the more regulation there is on btc, at least well defined parameters where it can operate without people getting abused, the better for BTC. Mass adoption will never happen in an environment of anarchy. mass adoption will only happen when the masses can feel assured they wont be robbed blind in some wild-west of unregulated chaos.

497  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring Full Time Internet Troll on: August 07, 2015, 11:21:09 PM
Normally I would jump at the chance to get in on this excellent opportunity, but unfortunately I just got hired at the call center of Microsoft, calling people to tell them that we have detected dangerous malware on their computer and instructing them to delete system 32 immediately. Easiest 2 rupee a day I've ever made!
498  Economy / Services / Re: LOOKING FOR: A professional salesman for fashion jewelry! on: August 07, 2015, 11:16:02 PM
maybe aim a little lower regarding consignment. not jewelry stores but retail fashion stores, vintage clothing, there are even costume jewelry stores. I dont think some hustler going around on the street is going to be very good. Ive lived in too many big cities to even speak to the kind of guy who will come right up to you selling some necklace or ring or w/ever. Its too much like begging and makes everybody look bad. its a sketchy way to do business at best.

the aggressive hard sales approach might net you a few sales from people who are basically sympathetic/easy to shake down, but there are also all sorts of laws restricting such activities (especially in big cities) you'll get fined, your stuff will get confiscated, you might spend a night in the clink. its not worth it.

your best bet is e-commerce... all you really need is good photography (essential) and patience.

If you wont do that you could try flea markets, community markets, rent a table in an open air market as seen in most cities' tourist areas... but i dont see why you haven't put them up on an e-commerce site in the mean time because it is simply passive sales activity, you might get the odd sale as you angle for better opportunities.

499  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC to CC for US on: August 07, 2015, 10:42:12 PM
There would have to be escrow. bottom line.

There have been so many parties trying to provide such a thing and running into barriers, even if your bank shows interest there are all the regulatory agencies that will bring heat. Might look good at first but as soon as the authorities make waves at your bank all accounts get frozen, you get fined, possibly jailed, for sure bankrupt. your customers get shafted.

There have been dozens and dozens of well-known, trusted members of this community who have thought they could simply proceed with such plans only to be squashed, some newbie appears here with grand schemes and no one in their right mind would, or should trust them.

Of course I am politely assuming you are honest and have the best intentions.

If you are able to provide such a service as you suggest, and can pull it off without and governmental or institutional interference, you should have no problem raising seed money to go large with it. Also present yourself in total transparency.

anything short and the answer to your question is; No, absolutely zero interest (other than to keep our eyes on you and scam-bust everything you touch)

500  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-06] CD: Market Research Giant Qualtrics Adds Bitcoin Reward Option on: August 07, 2015, 09:03:20 AM
I went to the site and signed up but it only wants to let me create surveys, not take them, I didn't see anything about rewards Bitcoin or otherwise. I didn't really understand it but I'm guessing that if I make a survey I can offer other people rewards for taking the survey. I don't know. Maybe it only works in the USA
