4921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe NBA is rigged? on: October 07, 2020, 02:59:07 AM
I am presently watching the NBA final. Yes, I do believe that it might be rigged. There are some referees who do not call an offensive foul on the Lakers and another one is calling an offensive foul on the Heat that did not occur.

There is also a contrarian commentator who is also agreeing with the referees to make it appear that it was the correct call hehehehe.
4922  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: United States CFTC Charges BitMEX Owners! on: October 07, 2020, 02:28:13 AM
This announcement by the United Kingdom's Financial Conduct Authority, the FCA, might be related after Bitmex's legal issue.

I have mentioned this before. I speculate that it might not stop with crypto derivatives. The bans might also begin to crawl towards real cryptocoins and legally allow only people from a higher income bracket to buy and sell bitcoin.

FCA bans the sale of crypto-derivatives to retail consumers

The FCA considers these products to be ill-suited for retail consumers due to the harm they pose. These products cannot be reliably valued by retail consumers because of the:

inherent nature of the underlying assets, which means they have no reliable basis for valuation

prevalence of market abuse and financial crime in the secondary market (eg cyber theft)

extreme volatility in cryptoasset price movements

inadequate understanding of cryptoassets by retail consumers

lack of legitimate investment need for retail consumers to invest in these products
These features mean retail consumers might suffer harm from sudden and unexpected losses if they invest in these products.

Unregulated transferable cryptoassets are tokens that are not ‘specified investments’ or e-money, and can be traded, which includes well-known tokens such as Bitcoin, Ether or Ripple. Specified investments are types of investment which are specified in legislation. Firms that carry out particular types of regulated activity in relation to those investments must be authorised by the FCA.

@Reid. You are brave. That is very admirable hehehe. This might not be similar to the fairytale of the Cavaliers that won versus GSW, however. This might be another 15 point lead victory for the Lakers. I reckon sportsbooks might have given everyone a favor with -6.5 hehe.

For me, the populism of Trump has not subsided yet and this is going to be a 50/50 fight for both of them.

Back in 2016, Trump as a politician was a new comer. His opponent (Hillary) had a lot of past baggage and a large section of the population voted for Trump not because they agreed with his policies, but because they wanted to make sure that Hillary never becomes the president. Times have changed. Trump's disapproval ratings have remained consistently in the 50-55% range, and his opponent this time is regarded as a moderate (I am talking about Biden, and not about Kamala).

I disagree. The same segment of the population that voted for Trump remains having a similar attitude on 2016. Democrats support of defund the police and the black lives matter riots destroying communities? The young liberals should go out and vote if they do not want Trump hehe. However, I reckon young are also divided.

Also watch the video Trump's new campaign storyboard. The Return of the King hehehehe.

4925  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: United States CFTC Charges BitMEX Owners! on: October 06, 2020, 04:41:18 AM
I am no fan of centralized exchanges, but this is nonsense. US citizens are not allowed to trade on BitMex, and BitMex itself is incorporated in the Seychelles. This is the US government/associated agencies trying to police the world again. Also, banks launder money in far greater amounts all the time, and instead just get slapped with measly little fines that they don't even feel. But as soon as a bitcoin exchange is suspected of the same thing, the owners are arrested? This should be seen as an attack on bitcoin.

If you have any funds on BitMex, I would be trying to withdraw them ASAP. If the FBI are arresting the owners, you can guarantee they will be trying to seize assets as well.

This is called gross jurisdictional overreach by the American government. I had a similar argument for Bitfinex, iFinex and Tether which many went against me. However, when I created the big short thread arguing against Tether, many were against me also. Why hehehe.

However, yes. Agreed!

4926  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: October 06, 2020, 02:16:09 AM
@SquallLeonhart. There can be an argument that a bet against Tether can also be a bet against the price of bitcoin.

Also, this news. Are we under regulation season? Who will be next?

John McAfee has been arrested and is in Spain awaiting extradition to the United States.

Today, the Department of Justice unsealed a June 15 indictment for tax evasion, which alleges that the cybersecurity software developer and ICO hype man hid cryptocurrency and other assets in bank accounts in others' names. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison.

Shortly before the announcement, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a civil complaint in US District Court against  John McAfee, alleging he secretly made over $23 million from promoting seven initial coin offerings.

Also, I know everyone hates the Cowboys in here, however, they might cover -4.5 in their home stadium.

This caught my attention too, but more the ML. Browns won two in a row now and should have gotten some confidence, but it was "just" against Bengals/Football Team. If Dallas is able to win the TO battle and score a bit more on their own TO, they should comfortably win this.

I lost here, however, I won on the Bills -3. Josh Allen! I reckon sometimes it might be a mistake to bet against the trend hehe.

Yeah the bills have been impressive especially Josh Allen.  I knew they were going to be decent but they are definately the biggest surprise of the year so far.

Giants have looked absolutely pitiful but their d actually did a real good job holding the rams down almost all game.

Was there odds offered for regular NFL season MVP before the season begun? I cannot find anything from any sportsbook that accept cryptocoins.

In any case, Patriots playing better than than the Ravens against the Chiefs hehehe. They have given up a horrible turn over near the endzone, however.
4928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 05, 2020, 03:16:30 AM
Does everyone speculate the Heat can also win game 4 or is the Lakers only exhaling after their intensity in game 1 and game2? What will be the bet for game 4?

The Lakers might come back stronger, I reckon. It might be Lakers -6.5 hehehe?
4929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cuong Truong version of Bitcoin logo on: October 05, 2020, 02:49:27 AM
@logfiles. Be careful on how you place the tilt. Place it on a different direction or on the wrong angle, an army of maximalists will come out from the barracks and attack you hehehe.
4930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 05, 2020, 01:59:10 AM
@erikoy. The Lakers also caught a small lead of their own in the 4th quarter. The Heat should not sleep on this hehe. The Lakers might steal the game and cover the spread hehehehe.

Does the Heat need a big man for offensive rebounds? They only give the ball without a fight after shooting.

Good luck to the brave people that bet the Heat moneyline hehehe.

NBA experts, what has changed with the Heat in this game? My heart was telling me to bet Heat +9.5 and over 216.5, however, my head was telling me it might only be throwing away money.
4933  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10.01] Research Reveals Crypto Owners to Be the Riskiest Esports Bettors on: October 04, 2020, 04:39:31 AM
Little surprise there.

One of the enduring mysteries of this arena is the willingness of people to throw their Bitcoin away in a way I'm certain they'd think twice about with dollars. How you can favour retaining the currency that's only going to reduce your spending power and piss away the one that may ensure your future is beyond me.

Fuck 'em.

Similar to ICO gamblers hehe.

In any case, I am skeptical of loot.bet's statistics. Their study should have a comparison with the largest fiat sportsbooks in the world. The article only appears to be a paid for advertisment.
4934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 04, 2020, 04:07:22 AM
Just looking at a couple of games on the surface with not doing an in depth review, I like the Giants to cover the spread but I am waiting to see if it is pushed out to +14 or +14.5 as I would feel more comfortable. I also like the Bills to cover the spread, what do you guys think of these two picks?

We are together on the Bills hehe. I also like the Washington Redskins to cover +13.5 - +14. I speculate the Ravens' mood will not be very positive after the loss to the Chiefs. Lamar might be thinking Herbert is better than him hehehehe.

Also, I know everyone hates the Cowboys in here, however, they might cover -4.5 in their home stadium.

Who has Chiefs -7? That was lucky. Cam Newton has the coronavirus.
4935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: October 03, 2020, 02:52:19 AM
I might bet on the Heat game 3 if the sportsbooks give us +16 hehehe. I have stopped watching the game, this again is another complete decimation by the Lakers. 4 - 0.

the author of this post can be a good preditionist ( something that is good at predictions or predicting ) . he was right that eth 2.0 got delayed again .but are  are there leaked infos  before , before he post this thread at the month of febuary ?

i knew it , that the fate of eth 2.0 is getting simillar to the etf but i think that etf thing is more worster because people have assumed and posted so many threads or updates and in the end there is still no clear answer to them .

I disagree hehehe. I might only be one of the quicker people to accept when there is something wrong during the middle of the pump and the hype.

You observe the craziness in the cryptospace for 5 years hehehe.
4937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: October 02, 2020, 11:41:57 PM
I try to keep track of all defi hacks in this thread. Considering that this topic has become popular in 2020, we can conclude that the number of hacks is not so much,
the amount of stolen funds is much less than the centralized exchanges lose.

Hehe the skeptical me is thinking that the whitehat hacker might also be someone from their development team trying to make it appear a 3rd party has audited their code and make the project appear more trustworthy.
4938  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: United States CFTC Charges BitMEX Owners! on: October 02, 2020, 04:59:13 AM
@GreatArkansas. They want everyone to relax hehehe.

Bitmex mass withdrawals might occur similar to a bank run after release of this news, I reckon. Its users should try to withdraw, however, it would not be shocking if Bitmex blocked them.

There is also the danger of a government takedown of the domain.
4939  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: October 02, 2020, 03:35:13 AM
This appears to be the cause of the small dump on bitcoin.

However, that might not be the real problem. The real problem might be, are the executives of Bitfinex, Tether and iFinex next?

In any case, Bitmex domain has not yet been seized.

4940  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-09-28] Grayscale Investments now controls 2.4% of the current BTC supply on: October 02, 2020, 03:02:37 AM
I did a bit of research about Grayscale Investments. One thing I liked about them is that 44% of their funding comes from non-institutional investors. This include individual investors, as well as retirement investors. However, I heard that their fees is quite high. From what I have heard, they charge 2% per year in fees. For comparison, most of the mutual funds have an annual fund maintenance fee of 0.25% to 0.50%.

What are the names of those individual investors? They might be the whales of the cryptospace that have a professional relationship with Barry Silbert. I am quite certain they are not poor like us hehehe.
